Today I walked in to nail tech in Fair Oaks and asked how much it would cost to have my regular polish removed from my nails and clear painted. The lady looked at my nails and scrutinizing them and said they were gel. I told her they're not gel I don't do gel nails. She grabbed my hand aggressively again and looked again. She then pushed my hand down and said, "yes they are gel, I'm positive," I Asian said ma'am, they are not gel. I don't do gel. She looked at me and walked away. Do not recommend this place. I dropped my daughter off to get acrylic nails done and came in and confirmed the price before I left. Once I came back to pay the price it jumped from $35-$60 because of the shape of the nail. Once I said I was upset because I confirmed the price before I left. I called last minute and asked for two specific people that my coworker had suggested. This Sophie girl said we can do it now. I showed up and she sat me with whoever was available, not who I requested. She should have just told me they weren't available when I called and I would have made an appointment when they were available. My gel nails have bubbles and streaky lines through them. They were very rude. When I asked if she could file my left hand fingernails like she did the right hand fingernails she was annoyed but she is the one who forgot. They looked grumpy the whole time and didn't say a word to me even after I paid. I rarely ever leave reviews but I will never come again. So one person wants a fill, one person wants a gel manicure." And that's how my adventure started here. From there, my friend and I were here for about an hour and a 1/2. I chose an ombre design for my nails that turned out horribly wrong. The paint was put on my nails, unevenly, and then just blotted with a sponge. The color was distorted. There was no fade, just jagged lines and some glitter on top. They immediately fixed it, which I appreciated it. But from all the buffing, my nails now barely exist. They're so thin now and still slightly hurt when touched. Also, the cuticle areas of my nails were cut and I now have small red, sore marks surrounding my nails. I'm also fairly certain, from some attitude I received, that some not nice things were said about me post my request to have my nails fixed. The woman who was working on my friend's nails did an amazing job on my hers. She was very kind, and eager to help solve the problem. I do appreciate her attentiveness. She was agreeable and then another girl came running up and informed me loudly that my gift certificate was no longer valid under their new owners. No apology, just a curt statement. I hate to say it, but I really didn't care for this place. The salon seems clean, pleasant enough environment, but pitiful pedicure. Now, it could be the person who did my pedicure and not their typical salon standard, but I don't know that I'd go back to test that theory. She literally almost did no scrubbing at all, she probably ran the foot file over the heels and balls of feet three times, and I mean like three individual scrubs each. Her foot/calf massage was more like lightly rubbing lotion into my skin, no pressure whatsoever. My toes were nicely painted, though that wasn't complicated because I didn't do a design. That's really about all that I can compliment on that pedicure. Also, beware that they don't take card (debit or credit); so have cash, (maybe check), or be ready to use their ATM. Been to dozens of nail salons in my time and this one is by far the cleanest, nicest girls, and they do a perfect job on my nails. They take their time and sanitize everything well. The warm towels they use smell so fresh and nice when they do my pedicures.
