I recently went to get a gel pedi on Sunday, and the nail tech was coughing on my feet the whole time, she was rushing the whole time and honestly seemed mad that she was even doing my nails. Super rude and she put the gel light on my foot the wrong way so the heavy part was resting on my foot (have never had anyone do this before) and it was hurting me. Normally I wouldn't write a review but this one was really bad. Absolutely the worst service! This place is always a hit or miss but their nail tech Ben SHOULD NOT be doing nails! You can clearly see multiple different nail color choices at almost all stations and I was given one with a lot of the nails missing and when I asked for more color choices I get handed a book with limited pastel shades and I asked for other shades of red and flat out was told, "no" then upon further inspection, he didn't even color the full nails and did not do what I had asked for. When I first arrived, I presented a photo and asked, can you do this and was told yes and then brought to the back for my pedicure. As the gentleman goes to get the water settled and station set, Ben comes out and starts doing my pedicure. If I'd known HE would be doing it, I would have said never mind and walked out as I have had crappy and rude service from him before. Nonetheless he asked if I was getting my fingers done too and I showed another pic stating, only if you can do this and explained that it was a glazed colored French tip but with cat eye gel polish. He then called another tech over who also confirmed and told him cat eye. I expressed NO ACRYLIC many times, what does he do, starts putting acrylic on my finger. I said NO acrylic and so he looks at me like I'm crazy. He then starts claiming that I can't have gel cat eye which is false as the cat eye polish is displayed RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I then said, "so I can't have the cat eye gel polish bc you don't do it in gel?" He completely ignores me. He then had another tech come over and tell me I had to choose a different color that's not the cat eye gel polish, and he didn't cut my cuticles and the polish for the tips are raised and so awful I almost started crying. My friends come here all the time bc it's convenient as they work there in the mall but after seeing how my nails and service I received, they are going to start going to a different place. I know, long story, but I warn anyone who gets service by Ben, RUN and save your money by going somewhere else! read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my sister. She says: I've been coming to this nail spa for the past 3/4 months. Normally I have the best experience when Tim does my mani/pedi. But for some reason you can't book appointments ahead of time so I didn't see him today. The nail tech I did have (I'm unsure of her name she never told me although my receipt said Helen) was very unprofessional and just plain rude. She asked me if it was okay to clip my nails and I kindly said no, please just file them. And her and another nail tech start to make fun of me. They're saying how it's dumb of me to ask for my nails to be filed when they're super long. But they weren't even that long. I just prefer filing. Then she pricked me with the cuticle digger/pusher and then laughed when I said "ow". Her and the co-worker continued to talk about me as I was in pain from what she did. Lastly, I wanted to test out a gel color and asked her if that was okay. She told me yes but tried to apply the gel to all of my nails. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but it seemed as if no matter how nice I was to this lady, she was rude back to me. I called the store to see if there was something to be done and the guy on phone didn't even ask for my name, the time I was there, or what services I had done. I'm not sure how he can resolve an issue of unprofessional employees without asking these questions. Awesome place in to get a pedicure in the mall. I usually go to a different one in the mall but they raised their prices. This Nail Spa charges $20 for a pedicure and makes it worth every penny! Their massage chairs are comfortable and they offer you complimentary bottled water. They massage your feet well and take care of them. They use warm towels on your legs and the "cheese grater" for no extra charge. The people are nice and friendly and it is kept clean. I will be back in a couple weeks for my next pedicure and I got my mom pedicure gift certificates for Christmas. read more

The manicure was quick and professional. but the pedicure, the gentleman didn't speak much english, according to their sign, water or soda is to be offered, and it wasn't. This was my first time visiting Nail Spa. I sell houses for a living and after a VERY busy Open House I was looking for some relaxation. I took a chance and went to the Countryside Mall and decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best pedicure service I have ever received! I walked in and was taken right away. The salon itself is bright, beautiful, and clean (such a plus) I went with the milk and honey pedicure. Wendy was very kind and professional. Her touch was magic and I felt like I melted into the chair. She took her time and I didn't feel rushed, as I usually do when I walk into a new place. She gave me a great service and I am so happy I decided to come in. The pedicure was $45 and for the treatments I received, hot stone, and massaging it was worth every penny. This salon looked very busy from the outside but walking in and sitting in the massage chair I felt so relaxed. The staff and their equipment are top notch! My wife and I have tried several nail places in the Countryside/Safety Harbor area and have found that Nail Spa gives you the best value. They have many options to choose from so for those on a certain budget and/or those needing a specific treatment done, there's something for everyone! I had a very unprofessional, quite racist experience with this salon. I have had 2 positive visits before, this one was the most humiliating experience of my life. They had to re-do my friends SIMPLE nail design 7 times because we refused to pay for something that was half-assed. They made my friend bleed, mocked us in Vietnamese, told us to shut up, made faces, and handed my friend the tools and told her to do it herself. The design she wanted was a nude gel with ONE glitter line. They advertise much more elaborate designs but can't get a line right? And turn racist and unprofessional when questioned. Walked in for a fill in and shellac polish, was taken right away. The gentleman I had was very friendly, he worked fast but neatly. He was super gentle with the files (a lot of the times manicurists have got the sides of my fingers with them which is super painful). The hand massage wasn't very long, but they have OPI gel polish colors and UV lamps which is awesome. I didn't receive a pedicure but I saw the stations in the back which is nice and a little more private than being placed in the front of the salon, and the foot bowls looked very nice. If I hadn't been on vacation I would have went back for a redo... My fingers hurt so bad after being clipped that I would have needed to wait before redoing them. I got my nails done Saturday. I spent $40 to get the gel. They looked perfect when I left. Monday I had to go to another salon because I thought my nail broke. It turns out the gel had chipped. Two nails today have chipped. I am extremely upset. I will never go back to this nail salon and I will be calling them tomorrow to see what they can do about it. This is unacceptable. I stopped going there 2 years ago and I should have known better and have since fixed two. I'm about to fix a third tonight. I am going to file a claim for legal action. read more

I used to be a regular here because it was easy to get in and they did good work. But it had really gone downhill over the past couple of years so I hadn't been going too often. I decided to give them another try tonight and it will definitely be my last visit. It is a weeknight so not too busy. I felt like the pedicure was rushed. There was no massage, one leg was rubbed with oil and lotion while the other only a little lotion. The tech barely buffed my heels, in fact they were still very rough when I left. She cut the cuticle on my big toe and made it bleed (ok, it happens) but then she painted my nail while I was still bleeding which smeared the blood into the polish. Ouch for me and eww for the next person! The polish was kind of streaky too. On to the manicure... she starts pushing my cuticles with the metal pusher with no soak time, oil or anything. Just dry scraping of my cuticles. Not pleasant. No massage, just a squirt of lotion that she rubbed on the top of my hands then told me to go wash. I left very disappointed and will not be back. read more

I used to love this shop, but my last visit will be my last visit ever to this place. It takes horrible service to make me write a bad review. I usually only post mediocre to good ones. The only reason Im giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because you might get lucky and get a nail tech that cares and does a good job. During my last visit I had a female technician named Ming I think. She was not friendly, she was eating in between waiting for my coats to dry and didn't wash her hands. I don't want my fingers smelling like what you ate, especially with you wiping your mouth. Nasty. I was trying to explain that my cuticle area needed attention. What I was trying to explain was that I really need my nail beds cleaned and cuticle pushed back because they have a habit of barely touching your nail beds and pushing cuticles back because they are working too fast and not doing a good a job. Instead she just cut off all my cuticles. My fingers and toes hurt for 2 weeks! One finger was even bleeding and I made sure to put neosporin on all my fingers like clock work everyday. I prayed they wouldn't get infected. This place is not clean and they reuse everything. I was so mad then, and even while writing this those feelings are still there as I look at the scabs around my cuticles. I will never come back here. I don't have time to give my hard earned money to people who can only give a good polish change, but leave cut skin and infection underneath. Oh and they gave me an awful eyebrow arch. Moral of Review- ask for the best nail tech, pedicure, or eye brow waxer there and stick with that one person. Otherwise your experience might be disastrous. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. CAUGHT FUNGAL NAIL DISEASE. Had my nails done in the UK before I came on holiday, unfortunately two nails broke whilst I was away so I came here to get those two replaced. I had them done and my nails looked fine (although two were a little smudged). Arrived back home and two weeks later I have a fungal nail infection on those two nails - never had this in my life and I am horrified. My nail lady in the UK asked if they used the same files and buffers for all customers or throwaway ones and I remembered they used the same ones. I have caught this from the salon as they reuse the files - unsure if they sterilise the attachments on the electronic devices but I am just horrified. I have to treat this for three months before I can have my gel nails done again. read more

The lady that did my nails was super fast, and she didn't put an effort in to do a good job. She didn't put enough coats on to cover my nail, so the polish is see-through. She hardly filed my nails, so the edges are sharp. And my thumb isn't shiny like the rest of them because she rushed me out when it wasn't done. Wouldn't go back. read more

Very upset. This is the first time I have gotten my nails done in a while because I'm a nurse and they get dry and cracked from all the hand washing I do. I decided to treat myself for a trip I am going on this weekend. I was at the mall and happened to pop into this salon. The color I chose was a gray and came out purple. The lady messed up 6 times because she kept making me take out my hands from the light too early so they weren't dry and she smudged them more than once. Did not clean up my nails well at all. Didn't have me wash my hands before painting. Didn't get a hand massage at the end like most places do. Now I have to fix what a "professional" did on my own. Very rushed and horrible job. This has been one of my usual go to nail salons for years. Since its in the mall it's convenient and they are open longer hours than some independent salons. The service here is almost always solid (with the exception of a couple less than perfect experiences over the years) and they do good work. The prices are average. The salon is clean. I landed at this salon out of pure convenience. It's right next to the exterior mall door on the upper level by J.C. Penny's. It's in the mall, so I didn't originally have the highest of expectations. They are relatively consistent though. Although I will say that I have had a crappy foot massage here and there. Why does that always ruin a pedi for me? It happens every once in a while when the techs are in a rush. If you go during the week, first thing in the morning, you can usually get in with ease and they aren't in a rush. I have never written a review about a business before but after my last experience here I felt it was necessary. I wouldn't even give this establishment 1 star but since I have to- I will. Its been at least 4 months since I've been back to this salon and I'm still bothered. I've been getting my nails done regularly at this Salon for 5 years now- considering I'm a fabulous tipper and a regular, the nail techs don't seem to care- I can't tell you how many times I would go an hour if not an hour and a half before closing time and they would turn me away for business because it takes 'too long to do a full set of acryllics before closing time'. So what ? If you were to walk into my restaurant 30 minutes before closing time to have a sit down dinner I wouldn't turn you away so why would you do the same to me? To make matters worse no matter what the reason I had- it was never good enough for them. Which is ridiculous considering they are BEING PAID for their services. When I went in the last time I got a full set of red acryllic nails- 4 days later 3 of my nails snapped off at work and a fourth snapped off on my drive to the mall to get them fixed. Prior to the drive I called and explained the situation to the receptionist- they agreed to look at it and invited me in- when I arrived the nail salon owner was furious with me and attacked me the moment I came in- she FOUGHT with me telling me 'it been 4 days your nails are ready for a new set- you break them off that's not my fault its yours' and continued to raise her voice at me while everyone in the salon watched. She argued with me for about 15 minutes before she made the comment 'I need proof you were here- what day and time, who did my nails, what day was I was there (as she kept repeating herself) when i was there, describe the nail tech- etc. Etc. Etc. and told me to wait while she checked the cameras. (ALREADY ASSUMING I WAS LYING) When she came back she asked if i took pictures after my nails were done (LUCKILY I take photos every time I get my Nails done just in case stuff like this happens) so I pulled up the picture on my phone and she denied the color polish used on my nails does not belong in her salon. I kept insisting and she just kept refusing. So I noticed the nail tech who did my nails the first time sitting down at her station in the back of the salon- when she was asked to come over and talk to the owner about what happened the tech acted like she never saw me before and then continued to speak in Vietnamese to the owner- they laughed and she sat back down. The owner asked Louie to redo the work for 'free' since he usually does my nails when he's there and so he kindly agreed to. The moment I sat in his seat she HARASSED me from across the salon from the receptionist desk the entire visit for complaining about the work done, 'bringing an attitude with me' and basically calling me a liar and a thief. Louie hardly spoke to me the entire time I sat there as I could tell he was aggravated he had to fix someone else's mistake. As he finished me told me he's expecting a tip from me for doing them and that his work will not be done for free (EVEN THOUGH he's done my nails hundreds of times, ive brought him business and I always tip- I felt this time it wasn't necessary since I tipped the woman $20 the last time I was there, and the experience I had when I came in to get THEIR work fixed. I handed louie a $20 and walked out- the salon owner told me to never bring my problems there again and that my business is not appreciated. Why would anyone want to give this business any money after the way they treat their customers and the way they behaved when someone comes in to get their work fixed? I have yet to come back to this business as I have found 2 other local salons that do much better work, appreciate the business of their customers and have taken me in for a last minute appointment 30 min before closing time . this place can kiss my ass and I will never spend another dollar here again. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. The only good thing about them is they're open late. I tried this place 3-4 times and every time I got horrible nails. When you walk in the guy 4 chairs down on the left avoid at all costs. He's the worst. The absolute worst nail salon I have ever been to. I had a fill with regular nail polish. I asked how much and the technician told me $16. After I was finished she tried to charge me $30 because my nails were long. Which they are not. She started yelling at me and being extremely hostile and rude. Now a week and a half later, 3 of my nails have broken because of the technicians lack of skill. My nails were filled down to almost no acrylic. Please everyone stay clear of this nail salon. We just moved to this area and wanted to try a place closer to home. Wow, bad idea! This was a horrific experience.
