I was looking to treat myself on my last day in Hawaii and happened to stumble upon this place through Yelp. So glad I came here! Mai was my nail technician and she was so gentle with my nails and was very friendly. I asked for a cat eye nail with some gemstones and she knew exactly what I wanted. While I haven't been to Japan yet, I think Hawaii is the next best place to get your nails done if you're looking to get a true Japanese style gel manicure! The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was here at Nail Salon Ai the moment I stepped into the salon. Literally 10/10 the best service I've gotten at any nail salon. 100% of their products are from Japan and they seemed to have a bunch of new colors which was nice. They are located in their own room/studio within the building next to Louis Vuitton, so if you're looking for a private, high quality nail salon, I'd recommend coming here. As far as pricing goes, it is a bit expensive compared to where I'm from (San Diego) but I think it's worth every penny. I do like that they have a clear pricing list on their website (you can also search their Instagram for it too). I was able to book a last minute appointment through text which made everything so seamless. read more

Mom daughter pedicure time! Called and walked in within 10 minutes for our pedicures. Cute little shop that appears to be family owned. Pricey but what isn't in Hawaii plus this was very personalized service. Maki was my tech, she was so nice and welcoming. Very good at the foot massage. Omgosh these tired feet were beat after the hike up Diamond Head yesterday, so it was so nice to get our feet done. Pedicures turned out great! Our toes never looked better and my feet never felt better. Just what I needed!! read more

Agh so I work in the restaurant industry and in a super busy part of Waikiki. Yuki did my nails and they were amazing! I wanted Japanese gel since my hands are constantly making cocktails and I needed to protect my nails from damage (they were getting a bit thin and fragile with regular polish). I hadn't gotten my nails done in a while, so I was going to wait a month until refilling them. Only three slightly came off, and this is after three and a half weeks! It's a bit expensive, I don't think they do Kama'aina. Regular one color Japanese gel nails + CAT EYE color is $90 (no toxins, last longer, or so it has been recommended to me by many people), but regular one color gel is $70 (which I will be getting from now on because I just need this to protect my nails, not make them look pretty lol). Everyone here is super nice and Yuki was super thorough but also quick! Definitely recommend! read more

Called in and was able to make an appointment immediately. They even waited for me even though I was late and reserved one of the spa chairs since I wanted a mani/pedi. I had 2 technicians working simultaneously on my mani/pedi so it was nice that the appointment didn't run as long as it usually does when you get each service done one by one. The place is located inside the hotel on the 3rd floor in the Waikiki Tower. No hotel card needed to get in the elevator. Everyone was super friendly. I even added the paraffin treatment to my pedicure and it was amazing. The massage was relaxing and my skin was super soft and smooth afterwards. The only reason why I docked a star was because I had asked for a short coffin shape for my mani, but she didn't get the shape exactly as the picture I showed her but at least the nail polish coats were on point. I would definitely come back. read more

y'all, I'm not lying when I say this is probably the BEST nail salon in Oahu! it is absolutely attentive to detail for nails, and you can request almost anything for them to make and omg, it's amazing. the atmosphere and place is quite small, but have the most amazing staff. I hope they will move soon! The people there were so nice, and sweet. It is pricy, but worth it, trust. This is definetley where I'm gonna get my manicures. Love it so much. Over priced. Uneducated on dip removal. It should not cost 30$ to remove dip when it easily soaks off in acetone. I had to tell her that . Which quickened the service. Compared to what she was doing. I would have been there for hours. Yet she still charged me 30$ even after telling her how to do her job efficiently read more

I was so so pleased with the entire experience! Came to Waikiki for a friend's wedding, and my nails were not party ready. Thankfully, Nail Salon Ai had an opening for a gel manicure with design the day before the wedding, so I booked it via text, which was so convenient. Their communication is excellent, providing me with videos to help me find their business. I had no trouble finding the place! Everyone there was so kind and welcoming. The space is very intimate and cute, I liked that it felt private and peaceful, and not so crowded and overwhelming. I was so impressed with the teamwork among the three ladies, and how they efficiently made use of their time therefore also my time. Initially, I wasn't booked for a gel pedicure because at the time of scheduling there wasn't an available appointment, but they squeezed in a little more time for me, and simultaneously worked on my mani and pedi, which I am so so grateful for. My head nail artist was attentive to every little detail of my design, and took into consideration all of my requests such as wanting a mermaid vibe, Japanese gel color, etc. She checked in with me throughout the process to see if I wanted to fix anything, but the entire time, I was speechless by how amazing each stroke and design placement was, and how beautiful she made my own natural nails look without extensions (!!), I didn't need to provide any correction or feedback. She even checked my nail curve from the side at the end so it's smooth and natural looking, and not ridged or overfilled. Overall, these are hands down the best mani and pedi I've ever had! When I'm back in O'ahu, I will definitely be getting my nails done here again. read more

Went for a quick pedicure on a Tuesday morning before starting our vacation in Hawaii. It was so easy to make an appointment and they seated me right away even though I was a little early. I absolutely this place! Everyone at the salon is very nice and welcoming. It's always a pleasant experience here. I usually go to different nail salons trying to find somewhere I actually like, but this is the first one I decided to come back to. I am happy to say that I will be coming back time and time again. It's best to contact them and book an appointment as they are busy. They are so attentive and pay great attention to detail with the nails! It's really a work of art with what they do. It is my custom to get my nails done at Waikiki by Japanese nail artists. I highly recommend this place. The nail artists, Yuka and Maki, are very caring, meticulously detailed, and amazing techniques. Out of their huge selections of design, my favorite is gel nails with hibiscus and plumeria with rhinestones over the pink glittery gradation!! Love it!! Worth the price! I brought my own designs to Salon AI and the lady did an amazing job capturing them with tiny brush strokes! To remember my Hawaii trip and bring the memory home I had one hand in camping images and one hand in diving. Love them! Three weeks later they still look very good. No chips or damages anywhere. I would have kept them longer but it's becoming a little difficult to text accurately. I walked in one evening and made an appointment for the morning after. There's a little sink outside the store to wash your hands clean. The lady offered me extra chair to put my stuff on and mapped our design plan on paper indicating the color and image I wanted for each nail since they're my own designs. She did an amazing job capturing the little details. A wonder for relaxing activity I conclude my Hawaii trip! Went here after searching on Google and yelp, thought quality would be worth the extra $$$ however, while she's super nice and friendly her skills are just not there. She didn't help clean my cuticles or deadskins per normal, it took almost 2hours for a normal manicure - partly becoz she layered just way too much the polish (I can literally see from the edge its like 2mm) and the quality of the polish is just so so. I should have asked but decided not too, sitting for too long I was a bit impatient and started to tap a bit to see if it's okay. Of coz it messed jt up... I was apologetic so as she. But her senior was not happy and not that friendly. Anyway for the quality of a normal manicure that charges $50, (I tipped on top of it) I will not recommend this place. read more

Yuka-san took wonderful care of me! I called At the last minute in case any same-day appointments were available and she was able to book me within the hour. I have been looking for a nail salon that took extra care in sanitizing their equipment, and the salon has very visible sterilization equipment and a clean, well ventilated atmosphere. Yuka's work with my pedicure was so perfect that I asked if she had time to squeeze in a quick manicure! What a relaxing massage and relief. Yuka was kind and took excellent care of me. My fiancé and I decided to get pedicures during our vacation and we're so happy to have found this gem of a salon! The place itself is very clean and nicely decorated; we had a wonderful experience overall. We were helped by Maki and Yuka and they were super sweet and very attentive. I've personally had many pedicures in the past, and this one definitely stood out! It was also my fiancé's first time, and he enjoyed the experience as well. Worth every penny! Additionally, the salon retails Olaplex products, offering clients access to premium hair care solutions which I love. Because I don't know many places that sell Olaplex so this is an extra treat for my hair. The inclusive environment at Lily's welcomes everyone, including men seeking nail services and well-behaved small dogs. Given its convenient location across from the Ala Moana Center, the salon is easily accessible. However, parking is limited, accommodating approximately 5-7 cars, so planning ahead is advisable. But when in doubt there's always parking across the street at the mall. Make sure to book at least a week or two in advance as they do get busy especially during holidays. If you're in search of top-tier nail care in a welcoming setting, Lily's is the place to be.

I've been coming for the last 3 months and continue to be very happy with the service and results. Not only is my pincer nail always treated and trimmed carefully and expertly, the pedicures are well done and last for over 4 weeks (just using regular polish, not gel). I haven't tried the Japanese gel manicure yet, but I'm waiting for a special occasion to make the splurge. There's only a couple of downsides: 1) the prices are very high and 2) the massages are too soft. For example, I've paid $4 or $5 for callous removal at other salons, but they charge $10 here. Otherwise, I have no other complaints. I love the ease of the online booking system. The salon is clean and has a very chill vibe.
