When it came to the manicure, it's actually a dry manicure, which I've never had before, nor have I ever heard of them! Let me tell you, there is such a thing as a dry manicure and I prefer this way better than a wet manicure. I have eczema, so I am very selective of nail salons and this was great! The different drill bits that Tracy used are to exfoliate the cuticles and around your nail bed, so minimal cutting/trimming is done. I made another appointment through their website for 07.13.26, again with Tracy, to have my gel manicure and gel pedicure removed and this time chose the combination classic manicure and classic pedicure. Basic treatments as before except for regular polish, not gel. Loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend this place! Convenient location. It's near a parking garage or there is street parking. The service and quality is great! The people are nice. It is a bit pricey, but worth it. Thank you Tracy for a great experience!

It was easy to schedule an appointment through their website. I am so happy I did and can't wait for my next manicure! I decided to go back to my natural nails so I got an acrylic removal and a gel manicure. I can't state enough how impressed I was with their attention to detail during the entire experience. They did not rush through the process and took their time to paint on the nail design I requested. I sometimes don't have a ton to chat about but everyone was nice and let me sit quietly listening to the music and watching people queue on the boba line outside. Needless to say, I highly recommend.

For manis, I usually pop in to get them done before a special event and it's pretty easy to call and get a last minute appointment. They have a large selection of colors to choose from. Note that this is in DTSM so parking is a little hard. I recommend parking at Central Garage. Payment can be done via Venmo & Zelle along with other traditional transaction processes. He was polite, quiet, and gentle with my nails, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the removal technique was not a great experience. My fingers were placed in a tub of acetone and I was told it would be about 5 minutes, but it ended up being about 10. My fingertips became very dry and pruney. In my past experiences, other nail techs typically use acetone-soaked cotton applied directly to my nail and wrapped with foil, which better protects the skin. After the removal, I was asked to wash my hands and was told the service was done. However, I noticed gel residue left on my skin and some still on my nails. When I mentioned it, I was told "no worries, it'll come off in the shower". Well it felt uncomfortable for me! The remaining gel was only wiped after I requested it, and there is still visible residue. For the hour that he spent removing it off, it definitely was not worth the price at all. I've had many Gel-X removals before and they were usually much cleaner and more efficient and cheaper priced ($15) and took only 30 mins. Giving 2 stars because Martin was kind, but I wasn't satisfied with the overall result.

Nobody rushed me with "hello what do you want" or shoved a color wall in my face before I even sat down. I actually felt like a person, not just another number to get in and out. It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. Once you go to Delane's and get treated with that kind of value and respect, you won't want to go back to anywhere else. And honestly, you shouldn't have to. Ask for Brandi.

I like the fact that when I get a pedicure done here, it will last me a good 2 to 2.5 months. Granted, my nails grow out, but the color does doe rub off easily. A spa pedicure there is about $22 and a pedicure is $10 which are reasonable for me because they last! I was undecided about whether to write a review and let the world know about them (4 ladies walked in after I did today and I was the only one in there initially). *Sigh* Hopefully, by revealing this hidden gem, I hope I won't have to soon get on a waiting list! But I did want to give them thumbs up for their quality. Who says East San Mateo is "ghetto" still? I was told to sit at the only free (not clean) station with a chair that had the rotating fan blowing directly into my face (the base of the fan was 2 feet away from my chair). I said I only wanted a regular manicure (not gel or acrylic) and it was like bam, she knew she would be getting a smaller tip because it's a cheaper service. Wow. She rushed through the entire polish job and waited until AFTER base, two coats, and top coat to bring me a fan.... a weak little dollar store toy fan because apparently no one uses regular polish anymore so all the polish and fans (basically anything that's not gel) is from 7 years ago or something. The biggest SCAMMY activity is that when I went to pay, she said the service was $25. I asked her if it was for the basic manicure with no tip yet. She said yes. I showed her the website with the price being $20 and she said that it was to "make up for the rising cost of rent". I once again pointed out that in real time, the salon owned website said $20. She said she couldn't do anything because the owner wasn't there. Honestly, I should file something with the bank because I want them to investigate with my time stamped screen shots of their website prices after they charged me an itemized price for a service that is not what they advertise. As for the QUALITY of their work? LOOK AT THE BUBBLES. Their nail technician looked at the bubbles in my nails and thought "yup, that looks right". The dents are on me because I was trying to get my card (since I brought $25 cash for the service and tip, but that was for their fake online $20 price) and the girl watched me struggle with my wallet after I explained to her why I only had cash and wasn't ready to use my wet nails to get my card out of my cardholder. Cool, enjoy the extra $5 you made on that transaction at the cost of behaving like charlatans and thieves.

The worst part? I was in so much shock and pain that I still gave her a tip. Obviously, I would not recommend this place.

Another odd factor, was the shape of the pedicured toes. Some are half square rounded and others are half rounded on random toes. Finally, I had to request to take out the nail polish that was left behind on my skin so it was clean. Overall, I think the quality is not what I was expecting for $60 but I haven't tried other services. So I'm hoping my case was a one off. The salon also has hair cutting services and facial services.

After the first visit, I noticed my nails were unusually weak and a visible 'ridge' began to grow out, but I didn't immediately understand why. I only got regular nail polish, no gel, with My. During my second visit, I paid closer attention to her method and realized the issue. Despite the technician's 20 years of experience, her filing is very aggressive. She over-files the natural nail bed using both a manual and an electric file, and uses excessive amounts of acetone. Just a few days after the appointment, a dark pink ring started to form, showing exactly the difference between the healthy nail growing in and the weakened one. It will take months for my nails to recover from this thinning; they are paper-thin, bending easily, and peeling in layers. I was treated very nicely during my visit, so it pains me that I won't ever be able to come back. I suggest being very cautious if you value your natural nail health.

The exfoliation was also extremely quick and barely removed any of the dead skin from my feet. Meanwhile, I could clearly see the people beside me receiving much more thorough service. I don't expect every pedicure to take exactly the same amount of time, but the difference in the level of care and attention was very noticeable. Maybe I just didn't receive their usual level of service, but based on my experience, it was extremely disappointing.
