Great spot for nails and waxing. Prices are very reasonable and the service is quick. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done well. Bonus that there are a lot of good food spots nearby, so it's easy to grab a bite before or after. The ladies and gentleman who work here are always kind. read more

I requested a gel-x removal. The technician overfiled my nails. I also had about 3 weeks worth of natural nail grown out and she managed to overfile the healthy portion of my nails as well. I was also repeatedly encouraged to add on services, which I said no to multiple times. I was there for a $15 removal service. After nail removal, the technician decided to give me a "manicure" that I did not ask for and then at the end of the service charged me $30. I'm sure they do nice nails, but I would 100% recommend against getting any removal service from this establishment and will not be coming again. read more

I've going here for years and everyone is so professional and friendly. I come here to relax and have some me time as well as get pampered and indulge in self care. Their foot and hand treatments always come with a massage, a hot towel or hot stone. Such a relaxing nurturing experience. My nails are always manicured to perfection when I walk out of here. Amazing spot for your next mani pedi date with friends or a moment of tranquility for yourself read more

I never really had a "go-to" nail salon and I would usually just go to a handful of salons based on my location, with Nails Resort being one of them. Recently with all these nail salons increasing their prices, I feel like you get your moneys worth here! This is the only one I go to now! read more

I tried Nail Resort for the first time on a Sunday afternoon as a walk in. There were 3 workers and 0 wait time! Tammy did my nails and, although I am particular with my natural nails, she did a great job. She cared to measure the nails against the other hand, was patient when I changed my mind on the design, and gave a nice massage at the end. They have fair pricing as well. I got a dip removal, gel mani with French tip and 2 charms for $50! Will return. read more

I've been a regular customer for years, They are very sweet, have fair process, and quick wait time. Also nice, and clean environment. Unfortunately today I had a poor experience with one of the workers. She's done gelx on me once prior to today. As I was getting a pedicure by someone else, I saw another lady yelling at her, and telling her to go slower, complaining about her sticking the trimmers in her finger. (Ouch) I felt horrible, I feel that if you're having a problem with the person who you are working with, kindly tell them. Anyways, next she did my acrylics . I completely understand why she would have been upset, the woman calling her out had a horrible tone, but she was being slightly rough. It didn't get bad until she cut my finger with the filer because of how fast she was going. She completely shaved off a chunk of my skin on my index finger and it started to bleed. I get this was 100% an accident and I don't blame her at all, long week, rude customers, and a the heat. Although this cut could've been preventable if she could have just gone a little slower. I'm only writing this because of how compact the nerves are in your finger, my finger still hurts really bad, and is throbbing hours later. She also messed up my nails, and there's lots of gaps in the French tips. This is my only bad experience after 5+ years of being a loyal customer, take that with what you will. She's a skinny, highlighted brown hair, with gucci glasses. read more

Returned to this business and Tammy did my pedicure, I am very happy, she did a great job.

Always a great mani/pedi at Nail Resort! Everyone there does a fantastic job! It gets busy, so it's best to call ahead to book an appointment. However, walk-ins are welcome! read more

By far the best nail salon I have been to. The staff is always professional and very welcoming. I live in Sunnyvale and drive to this nail salon all the time. read more

Super happy with the price ($30 pedicure and $45 gel/dip nails) and quality of work with this place (though i think it matters who does your nails). Anyone can do the pedicure well, but for gel/dip nails I have two favorite people thought I haven't tried everyone there's one person I wouldn't go back to I won't name here haha. I recommend giving this place a try and finding your favorite nail techs too! read more

This place is the best! It is no frills and they do quality work. I've been a handful of times now and I will continue to come here as long as they provide great service. I usually get the gel mani & gel pedi for only $65! This is the best price I've come across in the Bay or anywhere for that matter. I don't go to a specific person and several people have worked on my nails. Some are better than others, but they are all pretty decent! My nails usually last over 3 weeks without a single chip. I now tell everyone about this place! read more

I love coming here! Honestly the vibe is chill (especially in the mornings) and everyone's who has helped me out on my mani/pedi is great! They take their time and really do a good job. Thank goodness I live close because it's become my go to nail salon! read more

Late post! I treated myself to a pedicure and gel manicure for my birthday. The entire process was very relaxing. I really enjoyed myself and the treatment I was getting. However, during the time of payment it was $5 more than what we had agreed upon. I asked how much it would cost twice before I received the service, and I thought it was a good deal so that's why I chose the business. If it wasn't for the extra $5 during payment, I would give 5 stars. read more

I walked in yesterday for a gel manicure and deluxe pedicure after work. They were able to get me right in! My nails really needed some extra TLC as it's been awhile. The ladies working on me were very good and thorough. I also had my eyebrows done a week or so ago here and the clean up from my stray hairs was amazing as well! If you're looking for quality at a reasonable price come here! I think I'll be scheduling a facial soon to see how it is. The only reason I deduct 1 star on an otherwise 5 star experience is the pedicure chairs are a little hard, as if the cushion has thinned over time. But again great service as always! read more

AWFUL... I asked for the simplest thing ever, and they couldn't get it right I told her that the shape of my nails was good (which is was) and then midway she started changing the shape even though I told her not to she told me that she knew what she was doing and the worker kept mumbling under her breath how the length I chose was TOO long read more

I wish there was one positive thing I could say about the service at this salon. First, they cut off my natural nails even though I was there to get a basic dip powder manicure. When I tried to explain they became annoyed and rude. She proceeded with the dip manicure on my now short nails and used the UV light after every single dip. Two of the nails by the end were discolored with white streaks. She re-did those but when I got home the nails had gone from dark pink to brown. By week 2 they were even more discolored and chipping, and taking my natural nail with them as they chipped. I refuse to go back and now have to find another nail place that can deal with the horror show Nail Resort created. read more

So I moved to San Mateo six months ago, and needed to find a nail salon close to my house, and I've just found a diamond in the rough! This spot is clean and had soothing hawaiian music playing in the background. I tried 3 different ones on 3rd ave. and was SO unhappy with the work they did. They charge double what I paid here, and I could only rate those salons as mediocre, compared to this gem. I got a mani-pedi for $33 ($3 extra for french on my toes), and LOVE LOVE LOVE the job they did. The chick that did my pedi did an AMAZING job with the french on my toes, and smiled the whole time (as you all know, a smile goes a looooong way at nail salons). As I'm normally skeptical with men doing my nails, the guy that did my manicure also did a wonderful job. I went to Starbucks right after to get coffee, and the barista asked where I got my mani so she could get one there too! After six months of searching, I finally found my regular mani-pedi spot. read more

Not bad. Was greeted and asked to pic my mani/pedi color $45 for a gel mani and regular pedi. The ladies were nice and made sure I left happy. I was surprised my manicurist asked if I wanted three coats as I picked a very light purple. Most places deny me if I ask for another layer or charge more. They took their time and I didn't feel rushed. I will be back. 4 starts because they do not have a lot of colors and options for gel. read more

Wow what can I say I paid for my mom and myself it was like 130 and my mom pod 80 for her niece also, so for the three of us it was over 200! They did a poor job!! I'm glad this is not our regular place I can't wait for ours to reopen, they also tried to make more money trying to recommend a full set replacement when it was not needed thank god she was smart enough to not listen to the lady it hurts to have them removed and they removed two of them as it was! Anyways long story short I wish I would of paid with my visa so I could get a refund!! What a mess and a joke!! My mom had to remove the gasket between her toes when we got home, they were in a big hurry read more

I stopped by this place to get my nails repainted w. A different design nothing more than that. I already had acrylic done by a different nail salon but I didn't like the style. The pic below shows why I'm upset bc the guy who did it rushed painting my nails and literally noticed the crooked lines but didn't want to fix it. And on top of that they charged me 50$ just to get it repainted???! ‍ I'm never coming here again! Absolutely absurd. read more

Literally just got a mani/pedi here for the first time and I absolutely loved it! They're so nice, and they did such a great job. There were 3 women tonight, I think one of them was the owner. She is SO sweet! The lady that did my nails was an older woman and she was so, so gentle! (Major points!) They close at 7 and my sister and I didn't leave until maybe 7:40, and not once did we feel rushed or that they were getting annoyed waiting for our nails to dry, on the contrary when we were leaving they asked if we were sure that we wanted to leave and told us to be very careful. Overall I'm extremely happy with my nails and was very impressed with the service. I'll definitely be going back! read more

My mother came back from the nail salon with THE worst job ever. Definitely not the same since Cindi was there. My guess is that the nail polish was not only old but whoever painted her nails definitely did not know what she was doing. The nail polish faded as if it had been diluted with some other liquid. She had her sandals on all day, so there was no reason for It to come off. I had stoped coming here a few months ago when the same happened to me, I had no idea she had scheduled her appointment here.. By the photos I can see how gel is their specialty, NOT regular nail polish! read more

The pricing here is awesome and 1 of the 2 reasons I keep coming back. The quality of service is the second. I've always been taken care of promptly and don't have any complaints about my nails! No matter who does them. I typically do a walk-in and even when they are pretty busy they are accurate on the time it will take and prioritizing who can first, what service etc. This is a no frills place. It's clean and relaxing so I'll keep coming back! read more

Popped in here the other day for a quick polish change. It's a pretty unassuming nail shop in a part of San Mateo I've never been to before. Great find, too, since prices are SUPER cheap! They have a very large fish tank that kept me entertained while my feet dried. The owner showed me the parent fish and also pointed out which fish was the leader of the pack. Very interesting! If I was in the area, would totally come back. read more

Excellent job on my rough looking nails... 4 months of traveling with no time or care to stop and pamper myself. These ladies renewed my nails and put a little pep in my step. Affordable for this area $35 for mani&pedi. They are also the first salon I've been too that offers NuSkin facials with the Galvanized device. I'll be back. Oh, it's not posh so don't expect a glam set up. read more

I've been going here for awhile now and their prices are cheaper than most places. Also, they are pretty sanitary compared to some other places I've been to. For a spa pedi, it's $22.00 which I think is very reasonable. It's family owned and run which I like because I'm a supporter of small, local businesses! read more

I found this place on Yelp. I called and they were able to fit me in right away (It was a Monday though) I wanted to get a gel mani but ended up settling for a regular manicure. It turned out OK, but there were a few things I didn't like: -They are very limited in their gel polish selection and weren't very accommodating to my requests for designs on the gel, which I know other salons do! -I'm sure the guy was being helpful and while this is good to know, I was getting lectured about not getting gel manicures. Just do what I ask! -I looked at the price list I was charged extra for something without being told. I probably would have paid if they said, "This is $X more, is that OK?" read more

Great place! Came with my best friend for mani-pedi day. My 4 year old son came alone with us and they workers were super friendly and patient with my son. Very clean place. I would definitely come back again! read more

Nail Resort - Gel manicure and regular pedicure perfect for summer! - Nail Salons Near Me - San Mateo, California

First time here, pedicure is $27, which is very inexpensive compared to other places in San Mateo. The pedicure chairs were lined with a plastic liner but did not look clean at all. The corners of the bowl and seats were dirty, there were stains on the chairs and overall, the pedicure was not well done. It is good for last minute, quick pedi that lasts only a few days if you don't mind small imperfections. But I would not go back for the simple hygiene aspect of it. I prefer paying $10 extra dollars for a well done pedi and cleaner environment read more

I have been going to this place for about 3 years but the last time I went I was not happy with the treatnent and asjed if they had changed hands. They said yes.
