I booked an appt same day online and was able to come in shortly after I booked my appt. I was greeted with friendly staff who were attentive and checked in with me while I waited for the next available nail tech. They offered me something to drink during the service. I got a gel pedicure and I decided to the Tranquil Spa Pedicure. I normally don't get my nails done super often but this particular service was awesome! I genuinely cannot believe how poorly this salon handled this situation. I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years, and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. I had my nails done here twice. During my second appointment, the technician noticed what appeared to be fungus on my left thumbnail. She clearly saw it but said nothing. I was the one who pointed it out and asked, "Is that fungus?" She laughed awkwardly, told me it was "fine," filed the affected area down, and PUT NEW BUILDER GEL DIRECTLY OVER IT. Now, after removing everything, I have what the salon itself referred to as fungus affecting FOUR fingernails. I also had GEL on my toenails, and the same issue appeared there as well. Today, another technician told me that when this happens, the affected nail should actually be left uncovered, kept short, and allowed to grow out. So my question is: WHY wasn't I told this when they first discovered it? Why was it filed down and covered again? Their explanation today was simply that "water got underneath." I understand that nobody can say for certain how the moisture got there. That is not my main issue. My issue is their complete lack of professionalism in handling it. When I came back today, NOT ONE PERSON APOLOGIZED. After I started asking questions about what happened, I was moved from the front of the salon to a station in the back corner. I wasn't yelling or creating a scene -- I was simply asking legitimate questions about my nails. It felt incredibly dismissive and humiliating. The original technician who saw the first affected nail didn't even come over to look at my nails or speak to me. They then filed my fingernails EXTREMELY thin. They are now so sensitive that even lightly touching them hurts and feels like I'm touching the skin underneath my nails. When I asked if I should see a doctor, I was simply told to buy something from a drugstore and apply it twice a day. They even told me about people who had supposedly experienced worse cases, as if I should somehow feel lucky. And after all of this, they still charged me for the removal. The removal fee itself isn't even the point. What makes me furious is that after everything that happened, I left with what their own staff described as fungus on multiple fingernails AND toenails, painfully thin nails, and NOT A SINGLE APOLOGY. I came in with healthy nails. They saw the first problem, told me it was fine, filed it down, and covered it again. Then when I returned with a much bigger problem, I was treated like I was the inconvenience. The way they handled this was not just unprofessional -- it was insulting. I would NEVER trust this salon with my nails again, and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone I care about. read more

They market "walk-ins welcome" but the wait is unreasonably long for a pedicure. I waited for an hour on a Sunday afternoon, they were seriously understaffed with only 3 manicurists. Finally received a shortened version of the lavender pedicure for $60 (smells like fabric softener!) Now another hour has passed & I realize she only put on 1 coat of color & it still wasn't dry! I do believe their nail polish is old. This would explain why it's not drying & has little shine :( I requested another coat. They were nice enough, considering it took 2 hours, but not great & not worth the price. There are many other & better nail salons to choose from. read more

I've been going to Tranquil Nail Spa for many years. They've recently undergone a big change, looking to upscale the look and services of the salon. I had the Tranquil Spa Pedicure today. It was very pleasant. The nail tech took great care throughout the process and I'm very happy with the result. Prices have gone up quite a bit, but I think the quality of the service, my loyalty to the nail techs that feel like friends, and the cost of living in the area all justify the increase. I do not treat myself to a pedicure very often and I would not recommend this salon. Service was ok, required phone number and name to check in. $40 basic pedicure was very basic. If you are a regular customer maybe they give better service. My friend brought me with her and her treatment for the same service was far superior to mine. This nail spa has been around for a long time and I can understand why the customers seem be loyal regulars. I just got my first post COVID mani-pedi (yes in 2025!) and decided to visit my old nail spa I used to visit regularly. Great to see the same team is still here and had an excellent mani-pedi for a reasonable $70 total price, despite massive inflation in the last few years. I noticed they don't offer drinks or snacks anymore but that's ok, I'll bring my own! My nail tech was very good and got the job done. They still have great massage chairs that have held up and still knead away. Vibe is neighborhood chill and friendly. Lots of walk-in's they accommodated soon after arrival and it was clear they were happy regulars who had visited before. There are a lot of nail shops on this block so plenty of options - some much newer and fancier, offering mimosas - but I'm pretty happy with this salons reasonable prices that get the job done. I'd also say they do the best job on callous removal/prevention as well. I always walk away with baby soft feet - and adorably painted toes! read more
