I went for a pedicure yesterday. The woman was very nice. Customer service was cordial. But, I paid 35 dollars with a 5 dollar tip. The whole process took maybe 25 minutes .. and that is a maybe! she didn't even give a small massage, nor did she try and get any Calluses smoother. My feet actually felt dryer. I wish this place was good as the location is nice but it just simply was not. Not enough colors, unable to do a simply French and they cut me terribly. I could off done a better job on the French than what they did. In 35 mins they did a pedicure and a gel French manicure for 2 people. That should show you right there the lack of detail they put forward. I would never come back. read more

This has been the most shitty nail place I have ever gone to in my life. I came in to request them to take off my acrylics and for a potential color change. I figured it should be easy enough to soak off short nails and no need to file or anything. The idiot went to my nail with a pair of pliers and cut my nail to the point of pulling off my real nail. When I exclaimed in pain, she said it was expected not getting the fact that she ripped into my nail to the point of exposing the ref skin in my nail. I attached pics. Came in at 10:15AM on a Saturday as I needed a last minute gel manicure. No one else was there (they had just opened) so they took me right away. Both women working were very friendly and the place itself was clean and cozy. The gel options are limited and unfortunately they didn't have any samples of the colors, just the bottles so I had to keep opening ones to look at them. Some were pretty old and the brushes were all bent.. Found a color, turned out to be lighter than I wanted (should have got 3 coats), but the friendly and quick service and price of $25 for gel was perfect for my spur of the moment needing my nails done. Saddened by the way my nails came out, I wanted a french tip pedicure and french tip acrylic set. The pedicure looks like something I could have done at home, nail technician cut my nails to short and round. They use white nails for the french tip but it leaves too much white tip and doesn't look natural at all. The nail technician that did my acrylic set used nails that were slightly bigger than my own nails and now they just look like bulky fake nails. I am disappointed that I paid a lot of money for a service so unsatisfying. I won't be going back, even thought they are super close to my house. Got a new full acrylic set done here a little over a week ago. I went to one of the lady's at the double station and my nails were horrible, after a week 3 had lifted off completely and I can feel the rest lifting or they are cracking. My mom went to the lady who sits at the single desk and her nails are still amazing looking after 8 days. She also got an acrylic set. read more

I only left a 3 star because the pedicure itself was decent LOOKING. If I had to rate my experience it'd be a 1 star. I was told to wait 20 minutes. I waited longer. When I asked how much longer it'd be one of the ladies who I assume runs the place, snapped saying she's just putting the top coat on and she'll be with you. I'd been waiting in cold water soaking the whole time. I asked if she could make it hotter and she said it would get hotter. It didn't. From start to finish my pedicure took 22 minutes. The entire process was rushed. Another lady got a manicure at the same time and she was worked on for a total of 13 minutes from start to finish. Also, there was no foot massage. She did my legs a little and rubbed the top of my foot and that was it. My foot was still flat on the stool. She also didn't clean under my toe nails until I asked her too. And when I did she tried to say it was nail polish that was stuck. It was not. There also weren't very many options for nail polish. This place tries to take everyone that walks in with only 3 people working and does a poor job at making the experience enjoyable. At my place in Las Vegas, they spend at least 45 minutes on me. Sometimes an hour. I get making the most of their time but they didn't treat anyone with any sort or kindness. They were rude and rushing the entire time. No friendly vibe at all. The only time she spoke to me is to say my nail was thin. I think you should save your money and go else where where you can get a relaxing day at the nail shop instead. That's mostly why we spend the money to go. I hope management reads this and tries to invest some time into making this place better. I'm sure they can be better but are choosing to poorly run their shop because they still get business. But if you want to get more business, it won't happen with the service I got today. read more

I was a customer a while back and decided to try Pinky Nails again recently. My friends and I all received Mani/Pedi's. Although they were quick and very friendly, the results were poor for the price. I was given several coats of paint without giving them a chance to dry. Within 10 minutes of leaving (after sitting for 15-20 minutes to allow drying), my friends and I all had dents in our finished nails because the paint had not dried all the way (too many coats). Also, in less than a week, my polish had several visible cracks on them, a sign the polish used was old and/or the coat was not dry all the way before the clear coat was put on. $40 for that type of a result was no deal. We chose to go here because they said they could take all 3 of us at once (we had an event to get to), but then they rushed through 2 of us while the other waited for 20 minutes and in the end we all had unacceptable results. The place is dingy, too. I don't plan to ever go back. read more

It was about 3:45pm and I decided I wasted to get my nails done. The place I usually go to and I needed to be attended right away because I had to work at 5:30pm. Anyway, I quickly go to yelp for nearby nail salons and I saw Pinky. I thought I'd give it a try since I always pass by there. I called ahead to see if they could take me, and they could. So I show up and the elder woman attended me. She was super friendly but her work is NOT okay... She left them short, which is how I like it but they were glued on crooked and filed down crooked. I wish I would've read the reviews before coming here. Next time I'll just stick to Helen's, which is super close (1620 S El Camino Real, San Mateo). My first time getting a pedicure in California. I have been to Pinky's twice, the first time I went I was pleased with the pedicure and wax that I received. I walked in without an appointment and was started on immediately (there was only one other customer in there who was in the drying process), I was serviced by the younger of the two women that worked there. My pedicure was fast (normally I like someone who takes their time), my toe nails weren't completely even in length but in shape they were. She polished my toe nails very well, no complaining there. We conversed the whole time (mostly because I am new to Cali) about her visit to NY and the differences. I spontaneously decided to get my underarms waxed and she herself did the job. I was somewhat surprised that there was not one hair left!! Ha! The second time I visited, I was attended to by the elder woman normally there. She did my pedicure super fast, left my nails pointy on the edges and shaped weirdly. She skipped the grooming part on all but the big toes, and on the big toes cut way too much of my cuticle. She didn't buff the nail much so after the polish dried I still saw ridges on my nails, no bubbles at least. She sucked none the less, sorry if it sounds mean. After that I went on to get my legs waxed by the younger woman, of course I can not complain because she did an awesome job on the wax, didn't leave any hairs, didn't leave any wax residue on my skin and she put some kind of oil and lotion that left my legs extra smooth and silky. If it weren't for the elder woman who performed a crappy job I'd have given this place 3 stars for overall friendliness, an okay pedicure, and a very good wax. I have been trying different places since I've been to Pinky Nails which isn't a good sign. I most likely won't be going back unless I have to and if I do I will definitely make sure the younger woman does my nails. read more

My usual nail place is accross the city so I decide to try Pinky's since they were between my work and my son's school. So I went in for a fullset and a eye brow wax. I walked in and there was no waiting. The women were friendly. I got a full set, I thought to myself this is great they are so fast... My nails looked good inside however once I got outside I could see where she missed the acrylic at the tips and there are dots of powder in my nails. Not good!! I've only been once and that was recently, so I didn't want to get my hopes up and give it more stars but I would say so far so good. I went to a lady named Ivy who was very friendly and talkative and nice. The place is clean and small but clean and a decent size. I definitely take sanitation into consideration when I walk into places like this first thing. I also happen to look at the manicurist's hands too. In most cases, these women for some reason do not take care of their nails and manicure themselves regularly, which to this day, I really don't understand. Doesn't make sense. In any case, she had decent hands and most importantly was very nice to me. She did a good and thorough job and I definitely will be going back for manicures as they are very affordable and another friend of mine who referred me to the place is very happy with their manicures as well. = ) read more

If they tell you it's going to be 15 mins, it will be, unlike other places, that have made me wait up to 45 mins sometimes. I normally get my gel nails filled here and they never break! I was really in need for a shellac manicure and I called in and they took me right way. I sat down and everything looked clean and the ladies were really nice. The only thing that I did not like was that the color sample for the shellac on the fake nails was really old and the nail polish looked horrible I could hardly decide on a color because it was old looking. My cuticles looked worse after and there where nail polish brush hairs left in the polish. The massage was non existant. Not worth the $15 which included a $3 tip as I didnt want to be rude.
