Great and very friendly staff, first class service and very reasonable prices. It's my go to place for pedicure every other month. Have even got a haircut a while ago but could not cheat on my other barber for too long :P great area and plenty of parking options (2 parking garages right next to the salon). Recently renovated with brand new chairs and brand new manicure stations. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure that the customers are receiving a great experience. And lucky for me, they got to me within 10 minutes! First and foremost the layout of the salon is very modern and very well kept--everything is in its place and all work areas were clean without smelling like cleaning solution. Definite thumbs up. The ladies here are extremely nice. I think what surprised me most, is how quiet the shop was. Literally silent despite the audibles of nails being worked on. The customers--three of four chairs taken--weren't talking to the nail techs and the nail techs only spoke to ask questions. Definitely a change of pace from other salons I've been to. Setting the expectation-- this isn't your average salon for pedicures... while you do get a big comfy chair to sit in, there is no fancy massager built-in or a giant bubbling basin to soak your feet in. In fact, I soaked my feet in a collapsible bucket with lukewarm water. HOWEVER... the pedicure was decent enough. Sugar scrub was included... and the nail filing and cuticle trimming was pretty good. Being that I didn't want to complicate my service, I opted for a solid white gel nail for my toes. Simple. Clean. Perfect for vacation. Worth $65? Debatable. We'll see how long they last. For my manicure however, I chose to do builder gel on my nails with a specific design my fiancé found on Pinterest. My nail tech, Mandy-- really brought the vision to life straight from the Pinterest board! The best part of this was having Mandy confirm with me every step of the way to make sure I was satisfied with how everything looked and felt. I'm so happy with how everything turned out, I look forward to coming back to this location for future manicure services! I have been to many salon and in the past they all have been pretty much the same. Each one has their on day and off days. Once you find a technician you like, you tend to stay with them. My technician moved so I was in the mode to look for a new one and that takes time. I've been to a bunch around San Carlos and Redwood City. Like I said, pretty much all the same. I recently found Sky Nails and I think I found my winner. Sky Nails has a wonder atmosphere. You walk in and they greet you with a friendly smile. I came when it was super busy but they were still very accommodating. I got a wonder mani/pedi and a great hand massage. Now like I said, all salon will have their off days and on days. So I have been back a few time and they are really good and consistent. What make me really like Sky Nails is they keep the place clean. I see one gal just constantly sweeping and cleaning. I see how they treat their customers, answering question, helping out with another customer kids so she could relax. These gals go out of their way to please their customers. This is why I I chose Sky Nails as my new salon, because they know how to treat their customers. I am so glad I found it. read more

I have been a loyal client of Sky Nails from the first week they opened but unfortunately I feel like in the last year their quality of work has gone downhill. The technicians are hit or miss (especially since Cindy quit!), they do everything a bit half-ass (cuticle work, massage etc). They don't ask you how you would like your nails filed...God forbid they take an extra second to ask....they try and get through each client as quickly as possible because there are always so many walk ins waiting. Recently I had a half arm wax and I highly recommend that you do not get waxed here. The room is FILTHY! The bed is FILTHY! I felt so gross being in that tiny cramped room! But the worst part was that the waxer did not spread the wax in the direction of the hair and rip the strip in the opposite direction (which is the proper way) instead she just spread the wax all around an starting ripping...so naturally you just break all the surface hairs instead of ripping from the root which results in hair growth in about 2 days. Super annoying! After $80 spent on my botched mani-pedi-and waxing I will most likely not be back. read more

How have I not made a review yet??? I've been going for over 12 years. Phuong and Ivy are my go to people. I've had Phuong do my fingernails basically since I moved to California. She's watched me grow up and has done crazy colors / designs to now classic French. She's done regular manicures, gel and now acrylic. No one knows my nails are acrylic because I request it thin and natural looking. (If this isn't your style she can do your style) She does an AMAZING job! Ivy I've "only" been seeing her regularly for a couple years, but she has changed my life! I had really bad in grown toe nails but never knew why my nails hurt. Her massage is amazing , the color is perfect, but I've sent so many people to her for ingrown and she's amazing. My mother says Ivy is better than her doctor! Vivian and Kim are the kindest owners and Vivian is my back up for my fill when Phuong is not there. Hope is my back up for when Ivy is not there. I'm sure everyone is good, but these are my people. I've been to a lot of salons, I'm very picky and now drive from Mountain View to San Carlos every 2-3 weeks just for Sky Nails! read more

I have been going to Sky Nails now for a long time. I have found their customer service to be great. I have never had problems with my mani/pedi. I decide to voice in as I notice people are being to bash this place for no reason. Everytime I have been here I have gotten great mani/pedi. Sometime I would damage my pedi when I leave and they fix it with no extra charge. They don't complain or try to make it seems like it was my fault, they simply just smile and say "It's ok, we will fix it for you, no problem." People seems to forget customer service is about getting service and how they respond to you when things don't go the way you want. I have seen them bend over backward to fix any mistake that happen. Lets be honest, no place is 100% perfect, its how they treat you when mistake happens that counts. Here, they treat you right. I even heard they guarantee their Shellac Nails for 2 weeks. They say if it chip or peel, they will fix it at no cost to you. How many nail salons do that? read more

I truly love this little gem of a nice, clean and friendly neighborhood nail salon. I have visited the salon about 10 times since the first week it opened but I have to share with everyone about a new service they offer for manicures. The Shellac manicure is amazing. I had a french manicure using Shellac on Jan. 24. My nails are still in great shape one month later. There has been NO chipping of the polish. I'm glad I went with the french because if I had used a colored polish, the growth of my nails would be noticeable towards the cuticle. I will definitely go back for the Shellac manicure again. went there for a mother daughter day Mani and Pedi's for both of us. I had acrylic nails and I don't like using the drill so I asked if they could use a file, and they flipped out on me. explaining to me that it takes longer and the refused and when i told them i would leave they suddenly accepted to use the file. they made my nail look horrible it came off in the next two days and they cracked my moms toe, dont even know how that is possible. and they couldn't paint it because the nail was cracked to she left there with her big toe unpainted. Love Sky Nails! I have been coming here since they open. Vivian and her team are wonderful. They are have the cleanest salon I have ever been too. Their tools are all sterilized, they are amazing. I have get the shellac manicure and they are wonderful, tons of colors to choose from and it lasts, at times I can go 3 weeks before I need to go back. Checked out a negative post from Carina R. she is obviously clued out on the many different methods of removing shellac. If she wasn't happy with their method, why didn't she speak up? Give Sky a try you will be back. read more

This is my first time here. I've read many on yelp and found this place to be perfect. I didn't make any appointment just walk in. They accepted me right a away and offered me a drink. I got Kim for my pedicure and manicure. Kim was very gentle when cutting my cuticles. Overall I gave them 5 stars. 1 for take care me right away. 2 for hot tea. 3 for ten minutes foot massage. 4 for nice service and clean place. 5 for my nails look nice and clean. Always fantastic! They get PACKED so make sure you make an appointment. I don't think it should be looked at like a negative thing. If they are busy, that probably means they are good. Right? Ok :).
