Diane saved me! I've tried other salons in the San Carlos area and have had poor experiences with either the staff or the overall quality of my nails, which made me almost lose all hope! I came to diane with extremely poorly done toes (my previous nail girl put a thick uneven layer of acrylic to "fix" my cracked toenails, which she stuck and cured onto my skin on my toes?!?!) and she worked so hard to help recover and fix my nails, she literally made a miracle happen!She was very willing to spend the extra time on my nails, and time went by quickly since we spent the evening chatting. :) She is very kind and genuine, her work is precise and clean, and she really cares about her craft and wants to make sure you leave happy. :) I'm looking forward to becoming a regular here! While I have never been to Bellamy Nails, my husband actually goes and gets manicures and pedicures from Diane. He has nothing but great things to say about her. She is kind, friendly and best of all she takes great pride in her work. I wish I had never chosen to get my nails done here. I phoned in for an acrylic full set, and Diane referred me to her teammate, assuring me that her work was equally good. I trusted her based on all the positive reviews--how wrong I was. This was the worst set of nails I've ever had. They were extremely thick and uneven. After an hour of work, I showed them to Diane. She asked me to return in the afternoon so she could fix them. When I came back, she said she could only reapply the powder because she was too busy to redo everything, which didn't help much. I showed her the reference photo I had originally given her teammate, and she admitted she couldn't replicate it. I ended up spending over three hours at the salon and was completely fed up. Maybe they're fine for regular nail services, but they are clearly incapable of handling acrylic work. To top it off, while I was there, I overheard Diane persuading a woman to get acrylics because her nails were thin from repeated gel applications. Well, lady, we all know that acrylics will only make your nails suffer more. The only real solution is to remove everything and let your nails rest. I can't believe a nail tech would say something so irresponsible! read more

I was worried coming at the end of the day to a new salon but Diane took her time, listened to what I wanted, and gave me exactly what I wanted but even more beautiful. She took her time to make sure everything looked perfect and always made sure to ask me if I was satisfied with the shape, the length, the design, the color etc without pressuring me. So surprised after reading reviews. My first time for a regular manicure after about 6 or 7 years was pretty good. I can't do my nails anymore so am looking for help. Diane was fine. We talked about shape. I picked a super neutral color since I'm not used to polish anymore. It was fine. Went again and got a much stronger color And was pleased. The second coat of color doesn't quite cover the first. But it's ok Next time I mentioned the second coat being not quite up to snuff. Diane got defensive and told me it was growing out. Well. Yes. But the second coat was like that from day one Next visit was worse. I tried to accommodate her asking to change the schedule to cover a cancellation. I had to move some things and called back. She has given away the time after I moved around my schedule. Um. What?! So I wasn't happy when I did get in. Same second coat issues happening. Last visit and I'm going somewhere else. She asked me to come in at a time which I agreed to and then she moved it up :15 which I said ok to. I got there a few minutes early and ended up waiting until the original time. She was working on that headache inducing fake nail stuff that smells SO awful some manicurists won't do it (thank you!) and so I stepped outside before the headache could get too bad and tried to breathe fresh air until she was ready. One of my nails had split back. Along the surface. Diane kept arguing with me that the polish was old and it would do that. She would not listen and understand that the NAIL had split -or flaked - so I wanted them to all be cut down to the shortest healthy part of the split nail. She got very flip and I nearly left but thought I'd keep trying. She slapped some polish on gunking up my cuticles and making me feel lousy. So. Yeah. That's enough of this. Cash based business at her whim for timing. I guess if you get along with her all is dreamy. If she cops an attitude and makes you feel worse and more stressed when you leave... time to find another salon. Oh. And I would like one that doesn't only sometimes MAYBE give a perfunctory hand massage. read more

All that is over. This little shop is run by the sweetest woman, Diane. She gave great service. Her shop is clean, attractive, comfortable and she plays great music to relax to. She even helped with my color choice which I appreciated (getting plenty of compliments). Easy access on the south end of Laurel with street parking easily available on weekdays.
