I just moved to the area and decided to give Angel Nails a try. Came here at 5:30pm on a Wednesday to find it closed. I called the number and a lady answered hello? I asked if they were open, she said "No, closed!" Ok fine, maybe it was slow and they decided to go home. I ask what time are you open tomorrow? She says 10...11... Then I ask ok, that time do you close tomorrow? She says it depends! Sorry but most days I'm on a tight schedule...I need a bit more reliability. I won't be back. read more

This has got to be the worst pedicure I've had in a long time. Starts out, 11:35am the water was scorching hot. Like she had to drain some out and add cold water. She puts on her gloves, and begins with one foot. gets the red nail polish I had on all over my toes. Throws the cotton ball in what looks like the trash. She went to reach back for it and I coughed hoping to get her attention. I just shook my head. She continues, with one foot and pours cuticle remover on my toes not my nails. Then begins jabbing at my cuticles. I was like ouch and she kept going. So by this time I'm ready for my manicure. She reaches in a jug of "foot scrub" with the same gloves shes been using on me, and puts the scrub all over my legs, now its a pumice type scrub specifically meant for your feet, and this woman has it on my legs rubbing it in like lotion, I again gave her the crazy look. I look down after she "scrubbed" my legs and she drew blood. I was livid @ this point tips been cut. She then says "I paint nails now", I am like wait no massage? She says "I do after" WTF? So she paints my nails, doesn't ask if I like the color, doesn't make sure my nails are even nothing at all. She blew on my toes, I was disgusted, her massage was nothing of the sort. She rubbed my calves and put hot rocks on my feet as if that's a massage. Now the sign outside says 30% off, so when I looked @ the prices and it said $25 I was stoaked to get $7.50 off such a horrible pedicure but when I asked about the sign she said its no longer valid. I said why is it outside then, she said "I remove by Sunday" I asked that she remove it now, she still didn't get it.... whatever - if the discounts posted you honor it dumb ass! But I wasn't going to fight with her over $7.50 and she obviously didn't understand a word I was saying as I barley could make out what she said. Heads up the woman that did my toes was named May - she says shes the owner. She also said "Ido yo nail better" Sorry but you freaked me out with the service you did on my feet you think I'm going to let you touch my hands? I think not! If your OK with an additional 10 minute drive go see John's Creations in San Carlos. read more

I'm baaaack! As much as I loved how convenient it was to have my new nail shop down the street from home, as much as I loved changing up the colors, I missed my original classic French. And only May ( the owner) can do what she does. She leaves them flawless every visit. They last me 4 weeks without a single lift or brake. I highly recommend her! My girlfriend insists that Angel Nails is a great place for acrylics (my friend has those and her nails looked gorgeous), but for natural nails, I prefer my salon in SF. Yet, if you are looking for a no-frills, get it done now sorta place and are in Belmont. This salon accept walk-ins and we walked in today (Monday, 1PM) and they weren't very busy. I come here to get the pink & white gel nails done ($45 full set; $30 refill) with May, who is the owner of the shop. Though I have only gotten gels 2-3 times before in my life, May does them different than I've ever seen; she uses really thin nail tips, and puts on white powder on the tips and pink powder on the rest of the nails. The result are super natural nails and it doesn't look like you have fakes like the Jersey Shore girls. She really does your nails with super care (she examines her work throughout the process) and is really sweet. I recommend calling ahead to let her know you're coming (usually its just May and another girl working so you want to time it so you don't have to wait long), especially if you're planning on going towards closing ( they close at 7! Great for after work salon time!). Their pedis are in those super deluxe massage chairs (I think they have 4 of them) and are $25. P.S... they're located in the same tiny shopping center as a Valero gas station and a laundromat. read more

This review is based on her Gel's May does the best gels in the business. Period. I've been going to her for over 5 years and i've tried other salons no one does it better. She specializes in pink and white gel. Other places do a white tip then just the clear gel over. EW no! Some places have the pink gel and the pink is NEON. Gross! May's pink and whites are a an hour long process where she applies a nice soft NATURAL pink gel all over your nail. The part that's supposed to be white she files down and puts in a white gel. AWESOME! I have been going to Angel nails since they were in their old location in Belmont. May is amazing... she is a perfectionist! My nails always look natural and last a couple weeks. Dina is by far the best to get a pedicure from. She is so sweet and kind... not to mention gives a great calf massage. The new salon is clean and modern. They have 3 massage style pedi chairs. I always call to make an appointment but I usually do not have to wait long. May can usually get me in that day or the next; Friday evenings and Saturdays are an exception. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! The lady was so rude to me and my friend. She called the POLICE on us within seconds of us entering her salon. The cops came then she told them there was no problem, when she had just called them a few minutes ago...for absolutely no reason. I'm not the type of person to write a bad review but this type of racism against my friends is just not ok at all. My best friend is Mexican and the owner was extremely disrespectful to her. While she just ignored me for the most part. This type of behavior is unacceptable. All we asked was if we could use the restroom before we got our nails done, and she started screaming that she was calling the cops even after I tried to calm her down and apologized multiple times. Sadly, I have to say this was one of the worse pedicure and manicure I have ever had. Barely any lotion used in either pedicure or manicure. Pedicure massage was so weak my 3 yr old granddaughter could have done better. Pedicure was rushed and disappointing and at times painful. Manicure, was not much better. No massage and the clippers had not been cleaned between customers could see nail clipping caught in them. Would not recommend. read more

Used to come here all the time. Went natural for my nails for along time until recently. Called at 10:00 on a Monday for an appointment at 3:00 and they're supposedly open until 7:00 but they said they were completely booked. All I needed was a reshaping of some bad work from another nail salon. Since it wasn't a full price service they refused to find the time. I work in the beauty service industry and where there's a will there's a way. Not with this place. I used to recommend this place to everyone. After this review, I'll never mention it again. I decided to come here because it was close to my home and I was able to make an appt with such short notice. I haven't had a pedicure in a long time and the lady who did my nails was very nice and did a good job but it was nothing special. I showed her a simple design on my phone and she said she wouldn't be able to do it so she did a small flower instead. It was cute but not what I really wanted. I have been a customer for over 10 years. May does nails and always uses high end products so they last a long time and do not discolor. My nails always look great and natural. I get lots of compliments on my nails. I've been getting my peds here too and both Dina and Tammy do a great job. Not only do I leave with baby soft feet but they give a strong little foot massage too! Highly recommend these ladies to always provide very good service but if you want fancy, this is not the place. I have been coming here for the past 3.5 - 4yrs. May does an amazing pink/white gel. She does it with LOVE - by this I mean she works on your hand with care and is very percise. I have been going to May for almost two years now. I have done stiletto, oval and now skinny square acrylics and sometimes will switch back randomly. She knows I might want to change my shape and asks each time what I want to do. She is magical when it comes to switching the shape or length and has a great eye for proportion of the nail to my fingers, which is so critical to me!
