Took me a while to gather thoughts and write this. I found this spot through classpass for some gelx extensions. It actually ended up being some of the best looking gel x extensions but it definitely came at a cost. The glue under my nails 3 weeks later smells like fungus. While I was at the nail salon, i definitely spotted a cockroach with another client. She overcharged me by 30 dollars because im a classpass client . She was very loud and overstimulating. She almost made me late to a pediatric apt because she was screaming that she could do my pedi in 10 mins and to stay, it was a bit much. Im really sad because i love the way they look but i could never ever come back here. read more

My nail lady was nice but didn't know how to do cat eye so her co worker came to do them for me. She was very sassy and told me she's going to do each nail differently with the magnet and had a "take it or leave it" attitude. She rushed through every finger and would THROW my hand back at me to put in the UV. My nails look ridiculous, it looks like an at home diy cat eye. I have never ever liked a nail tech so much to the point that I write a review. my Nail Tech name was Jennifer. she was so friendly to me from the time that I arrived and was great to make small talk with. My retention is so clean. The way she filed my nails, I didn't get a single scar near my cuticle either. There was barely any need for cleaning up and filing in the end either. Usually, when somebody does your nails and applies extensions, most Nail Tech that I've gone to, will get their nail extensions stuck onto my own skin. This time with Jennifer, she cut my nail down as short as possible, which I was so scared would make the extensions gel go and stick onto my skin, but even though it was cut so short, she didn't even have to separate my skin from sticking to the extension. Although this was a simple set, I was in and out in 40 minutes. I am so happy with my results that I will be coming back again. Her application method for the gel polish was also very fast and clean. there wasn't even a little bit of polish stuck on my cuticle in the end that required cleaning either. read more

I had a good experience at Nice Nails but the overall nail work was just ok. They took a same day appointment for 2 mani pedis. Comfortable experience and quick service, staff is really nice. My sister in laws tech did a phenomenal job on her gel mani. Like Russian manicure quality clean lines and excellent cuticle work. My nail tech was more casual and not as detailed so my nails started lifting after only a week and a half (I knew they would, I could tell from right after they were done they wouldn't last long). I went with my friend for a relaxing day, and it was anything BUT relaxing. The lady at the front desk was rude the entire time, screaming at everyone. Then the woman who did my nails got SO upset when I asked her to fix a nail that came out crooked. She told me it was the shape of my nail, even though I've never had this problem before. My poor friend had to wait almost 2 hours because the manager was working with three different people at the same time. Honestly, a shame. DO NOT GO to this place. For the last 20 years of my life, I've been a habitual eyebrow wax type of girl. I started getting my brows waxed in the back of nail salon, then upgraded to a real aesthetician. And now that I've tried KD threading, I don't think I could ever go back. Here's some things you may want to know from a first timer like myself... 1) Did it hurt? Yes. But the pain is tolerable and worth the final result! 2) How long did it take? I let my brows grow out for nearly 6 weeks before I came to my threading appointment. The appointment took MAYBE 15 minutes... and my brows came out in the best shape they've ever been. 3) Cost? On this visit, I paid $20 for the brow threading and and extra $10 for a roller tube of castor oil to promote healthy hair growth plus a 20% tip because she deserved it--my brows truly still look amazing and I'm already almost 3 weeks out from my appointment. I highly recommend giving KD Threading a shot if you are in the business of brows and want to step away from traditional waxing! The vibe is definitely upscale yet chill and 100% worth the trip.

I really love this place!! Theone lady who works on Sundays is just amazing! I used to live in HMB and got my nails done there and I was not happy. Then my boyfriend moved to San Carlos, very close to the little shopping center where this place is. So I decided to check it out. I walked in the door and everyone greeted me with a smile. They offered me water or tea. I told them what I wanted and the woman got right to business. She took her time to make sure they were what I wanted. While the nails were drying, she gave me a massage, which felt GREAT. In the end I was very happy. It is a nice price too. $35 for acrilic french tips. After that I continued to go there. They sometimes give out coupons that you can use for the next visit. Another time i went there I wanted to gte some sort of design and the same woman came up with an amazing design. It was very pretty. I am actually going there today to get acrilics with black tips...just in time for Halloween! This is one of the very few places that I was happy with the results. Trust me, you will love this place. read more

Disappointed and frustrated I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience today was deeply disappointing. From the start, the staff was rude and dismissive--not what you'd expect from a place that promises relaxation. I had specifically asked for a stronger massage, and not only did they not listen, they brushed off my request entirely. Ironically, they promised a better massage than other places nearby, but what I got was rushed and careless. The entire experience felt cold and transactional. No warmth, no attention to detail, and certainly none of the calming, pampering vibe I was hoping for. I walked in expecting to unwind, and instead walked out feeling tense and upset. Would not recommend, and definitely won't be returning. read more

I went to this salon with a friend, and we were both really disappointed with the experience. First, they made us wait for over an hour before even starting, which was frustrating. When they finally began, the results were incredibly poor. My friend's gel nails started popping off the same day. When we called to ask what happened, they casually said the gel was expired . seriously?! She went back to get it fixed, and guess what? It popped off again. As for my nails, they did a rushed and messy job. On top of that, they painted two of my nails a completely different color than the rest. Definitely not coming back here. Unprofessional and a total waste of time and money. read more

I recently visited this salon and unfortunately my experience wasn't the same as I've had at other nail salons. I didn't get the chance to choose my nail color, and I wasn't shown any options for either my nails or toes. I also felt like I wasn't given the opportunity to explain what I wanted done for myself, which made the service feel rushed and limited. I really value being part of the process when it comes to my nails, so I was a little disappointed that I didn't have that experience here. read more

I had such an amazing experience at this nail salon, and I have to give a special shoutout to May! From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcomed and cared for. Her attention to detail is incredible! She took her time shaping my nails perfectly, helped me choose the right color, and made sure I was happy at every step. If you're looking for a salon with a warm atmosphere and talented technicians, this is definitely the place to go. I'll be coming back for sure! read more

Under NEW MANAGEMENT and highly recommended! New owner, Kevin, now has a variety of the latest nail treatments for us to try - chrome powder, glittery gels, powder French manicures and much more! His nephew, Tim, was so meticulous and detailed with my manicure, but super FAST. Thanks for providing better nail services for the locals in the San Mateo/Belmont/San Carlos area Can't wait for my next mani/pedi! read more

The service is always amazing, but what makes this place so special is the way they genuinely care about their clients. After all these years, it feels like so much more than just a nail salon. Any time we come in for a special occasion, Tina somehow makes it even more memorable. Most recently, we came in to get our nails done for my baby shower, and even though there were only a few of us, Tina and her team put out the most incredible spread of food and treated us like absolute royalty. They never have to do these extra things, but they always do--and that's exactly who they are. Fifteen years of consistently making me feel welcomed, cared for, and appreciated deserves far more than five stars. I'm so grateful for Tina and her entire team and couldn't recommend them more!
