I made a prepaid Russian pedicure appointment for both my husband and me. We regularly get pedicures together, so this was something we were looking forward to doing as a couple. I was taken in right away, but my husband was left sitting and waiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After about 15 minutes, I asked my nail technician when someone would be taking care of him. Her response was simply, "I don't know."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I continued asking for updates, and eventually a woman handed me a phone so I could speak directly with the owner. The owner apologized and explained that all five women working in the salon at the time do not perform pedicures on men. She offered to have us wait another 20 minutes--on top of the 30 minutes my husband had already been waiting--so she could do his pedicure herself. At that point, I declined and requested a refund. Warning! I would not recommend this place. I was quoted one price over the phone but when my elderly mother asked in person, they charged $20 more for both the manicure and pedicure. No license was visibly displayed and the service was extremely unprofessional. The pedicure did not include water or the normal cleaning and care you would expect. Within just one day, my gel manicure began chipping even though I am not rough with my nails. My gel manicures usually last close to a month before they start looking bad, definitely not one to three days. These photos were taken exactly three days after my appointment and the polish was already badly chipped and peeling. I just bought my condo and moved here to Sherman oaks a few months prior, so I wasn't familiar with where to go! I entered manicure into Apple Maps and nail Republic popped up in my search 6 mins walking away. I called same day, made an appointment for 30 mins later. Ella was amicable and kind and I was in and out. Like magic! The salon is well-ventilated. The decor is lovely and you can Apple Pay upon exit. They even offered me a coffee on a hot summer's day. I have to say that I came here with high expectations due to the ratings but after getting an acrylic fill for $70 I expected to last at the bare minimum 2 weeks. Sadly one nail completely broke and one got chip on the same day I went for the fill. That has never happened before, the purpose of getting a fill that particular day was because I had an event in the evening. I ended up filing the nail that broke and had different shapes and size. Only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of one is because the place is clean, they were nice and were able to see me as a walk in. However, it was disappointing that after paying so much, the fill did not last. I was seen by Annie, great personality but the work she did on me that day did not work. I can also provide proof that pictures were taken the same day at night. Also, the 10% off service was not honored. Not sure if this is only for a different service but was not explained. read more

Let's start with the pros: - the place is impeccably clean - the girls are meticulous and do a wonderful job cleaning and prepping the nails - they take their time - Anna is really sweet and friendly - decent parking availability - Diana, the owner or manager was very accommodating The cons: - they don't honor the online pricing and there are no written prices listed anywhere else in the salon. - a bit on the more expensive side - the application isn't as even as I would like - some nails are thicker/ longer than others, but the shape is relatively consistent. - polish application could be better. Some of the sides of my nails are still bare. Overall, this place is really great. The service is amazing and the salon has a really nice, relaxing atmosphere. I recommend it if you're not on a budget and have ample time to relax and do your nails. What a hidden gem with a friendly and talented staff. I came here after researching for a clean and sanitized nail shop and ladies this is it. It was sparkling clean. Everything in a bag opened in front of you. The owner Diana knows how to run a good business and us ladies need to support these type of places. I kind of knew when I had to teach the lady how to put the acrylic on my nail that she didn't know what she was doing. I spent $140 after my 10% discount, on my nails two days ago and this is what I'm dealing with now. This is ridiculous I really just want my money back at this point. Sometime in the last year or so this business sold to an owner who clearly doesn't understand how to run a professional salon. Saturdays when most nail salons are bustling with several manicurists and people clamoring to get an appointment ... this "salon" has one lonely Manicurist at the very front gossiping with somebody getting their hair done at the very back - literally two technicians - no receptionist - and no one answering their phones for 6 hours. I walked in, hoping to get a nail repaired, and was kept waiting while they texted with the one person who spoke English - who happened to be out of the salon all day on a Saturday. That's the "manager". The same "manager" had called me just the night before saying she would get back to me as soon as she could figure out where in the day I could get one nail repaired - five minute job - and by 2 PM she STILL had not bothered to call. No wonder: they literally had no technicians working on a Saturday!! Tho it certainly would have been considerate, not to mention professional, to simply have texted me back that they were completely short on manicurists and could not accommodate. But I guess that was too much for the "manager" who was out the entire day to bother with. I had come here twice before and was stunned at how few manicurists they had - and the few that they had ONLY spoke Armenian- So I required a translator my entire two hours there. When I tried to communicate with my nail tech, she would call over to the receptionist ... who was busy getting her hair braided and nails done (!!) ... YES - that's how slow they are ... to come translate. The salon itself is clearly "leftover" from someone's vision 5-10 years ago... Mismatched furniture, no towels, just paper towels for your manicure (??!), dust and grime evidenced everywhere, and this forlorn abandoned feeling just permeates the atmosphere. It almost feels like the salon is a hobby of somebody who just wanted a place to hang out without actually intending there to be regular customers. OH! And the cost of a manicure?! One with no frills, no hand lotion, no one to speak English, and being handed paper towels instead of actual towels...? $40. Before tip. As everyone knows, a standard manicure amy decent place in Sherman Oaks... is $25. I guess they're making up for the fact that they don't have any customers to cover the rent. The bottom line is: the salon seems destined to be soon be out of business... but if they do plan to thrive in the middle of Sherman Oaks, perhaps they will consider hiring staff who speak minimal English... and a manager who shows up to manage and returns new customers' phone calls... This is my second time I've been to the salon everyone has been very friendly and they're very professional. Their place is very clean. However, you have to be there at least three hours for you to get your service done because they take their time!!! they don't specialize in ombré they could do French tips they could do any color you want but if you want an ombre, it's really hard for them to do it however, they have neutral colors like nudes and light colors to do ombre's but if you want like a red mixed with something else that's hard for them to do! my experience so far with them it's pretty good, but I requested an ombré today and they couldn't do it on the color I wanted! I asked for gel-x but they insisted my nails were long enough and then sort of filed my natural nails into uneven and inconsistent shapes. I wanted velvet (cat eye) nails but they didn't know how to do it so I suggested just a pretty French manicure. The result was clumpy and messy.
