Overall, I recommend!

I tried to mention this to the guy at the front since their own website also says Broadway, but he informed me that his Google shows the correct location, so I guess that settles that. More importantly, if you can't provide a service, JUST SAY THAT. Don't tell someone you can do it just to get them in the door. I called ahead and specifically asked if they had someone who could do a Halloween nail design. I was told yes. Cut to TWO FULL HOURS later, three different nail techs, and I had exactly one rather bad cheetah-print nail to show for it, which was also the easiest part of the design. At that point, I gave up and asked them to remove it and just put a normal color on instead. The response? An immediate, "Okay, that will be an extra charge!" I genuinely thought she was joking. After I had already spent two hours there because they said they could provide a service they clearly could not, you would think there might be some acknowledgment of the wasted time or even a simple, "We're sorry we couldn't do what we told you we could." Instead, the priority was making sure I knew I'd be charged extra for asking them to put a regular color on my nails after their attempt failed. It wasn't about paying for the polish. It was the complete lack of consideration for my time and zero accountability for promising a service they couldn't deliver. So I left after two hours with completely bare nails. If you can't do something, SAY THAT. I would have happily gone somewhere else. Instead, I wasted two hours because apparently "yes, we can do that" means "we'll give it a shot and see what happens." Thank you for the waste of my time, gas and energy. The girl who helped me the longest was at least nice. That's why there's two stars. Only for her being nice.

I do gel builder on top of my long natural nails and she is so meticulous, they always look amazing when I leave & are strong enough to last over a month between appointments. Also any other salon I've been to, they never actually give you a manicure (cleaning cuticles or even massaging with lotion) when you get gel builder but here at Red, I never even need to ask! Not only is the salon clean & organized, but the vibe is pleasant and relaxing, even when I've had to bring my children along with me (the staff are all so incredibly sweet to them & always ask about them when I come alone). A true gem in our neighborhood

Customer Service My first visit with my gf for a walk in appointment and they greeted us , and set her up immediately. One of the owners saw me sitting on a bench waiting and told me , " it's hard to sit on the bench and wait"; so he placed me on a chair the ladies were getting their nails done on. OMG I realized it was a massage chair ... free of charge just for me to wait for gf appointment to finish.... Wow. Friendly, above and beyond customer service. Even though I was there for my gf, that massage chair felt like I had an appointment. Quality: As a male I understand the need for my woman to look good. But what I don't understand is when it chips within a week. And it's constant money out for maintenance on nails ...... Not only did it last more than a few weeks, my gf approved and was shocked how it held. Lots of compliments at the wedding receptions and at work. It's a modest shop that deserves more customers. Mind you, I was the only walk-in at the time I showed up, with 2 people getting pedicures. I'm sure this spot has their regulars, but it's not a place for me. I came in for a new gel extension set and spent over 2 hours getting the run around and sitting at the table, while the only nail tech (that could do gel extensions) was tending to other customers in the middle of my session. She accepted two pedicures while I sat there waiting for her to finish my set, which resulted in her rushing through the process and applying my nails poorly - crooked nail, wrong sizes, nails not fully covered, in addition to lack of service. I wish I had said something in person or walked out, but I couldn't get myself to do it. I felt bad because while all this was happening, three girls walked in with an appointment and they had to wait until I was done (at least another 30 min). So to the person running this place, please do not say you can take an appointment when you clearly don't have the capacity.

However, about a year ago, I wanted to get my nails done to treat myself prior to a surgery, and I stopped in here without an appointment. Since then, they have become my go-to, as someone who only bothers to go every 4-6 weeks. I've walked in even on relatively busy days and haven't had to wait (it's like ladies just materialize!), their work is fine [for my purposes], they are reasonably-priced, they are very friendly, the vibe is very chill. A couple of notes - I don't get gel nails, just regular mani-pedis, so I can't speak to gel or acrylic experiences. I'll also say that at the more expensive salon, the polish seems to last longer (and I always bring my own color, so perhaps it's a difference in base/top and/or application). The higher end salon is also a little better at callous removal. But for the price and convenience, as someone who basically just goes to get "cleaned up" and not to impress anyone later, I don't have any real complaints. As has been mentioned, they accept credit for payment, but tips need to be in cash. I usually stop in unplanned and often find myself without cash, but fortunately, there's a credit union ATM steps away that solves the problem.
