I had an excellent experience at The Beauty Edit today in Bridgeville. My technician, Maddie, was new and she gave me a lovely pedicure expertly being trained by another technician, Marisa. It was so refreshing to see everyone interested in Maddie's first pedicure and cheering her on so to speak. Jo, the Front Desk gal, gave her kudos and loads of encouragement. I just started going to The Beauty Edit this year but wish I had known about it sooner! Each time I've visited, I've been greeted by a friendly worker at the front desk and immediately taken back for my appointment on-time. I've gone to a few different girls and all have been welcoming, engaging, and done a fantastic job! I'll usually bring in an inspo pic, and the girls are able to work from it to give me an even better design than I imagined. Previously, I loved dipped nails, but now I am sold on the structured gel manis. They grow out perfectly and don't peel like some traditional gel manis do. I also like that there are different price points, based on the experience on the mail artists' experience. I cannot recommend The Beauty Edit enough for perfect nails every time, but you definitely need to book early, as they get booked up far in advance (for good reason)! read more

Just got charged the full fee of my appointment because I put it in my calendar for next week instead of today! I made a mistake but I wish when I scheduled they would have told me if I made one mistake I'd be out 200 bucks! I'd never missed an appointment before, I'd maybe understand charging $20 the first time and clearly informing the customer that they'd be charged for whatever the full cost of what they're scheduled for if it happened again! Honestly the place is aesthetically pleasing and the girl was nice but 3 of my nails broke off within 2 1/2 weeks AND they charged me the full fee of what I was scheduled for, the first time missing an appointment! Obviously I'll never go back and save your time and wallet and go somewhere else! The best and most consistent place for me has been at VIP in Robinson. I don't know about all of their techs I've only seen Nick and Amy and they are both fantastic! read more

Ladies, if you have not been to Dallas Beauty Lounge-it's a must! I heard about this place a couple years ago and my biggest regret, not coming sooner. I've been following their Instagram page forever and I FINALLY went for the first time in December. I saw Krista from the Market Square location and I'm so glad I did! When I first went, I had no idea what I wanted done, so we did a little bit of everything. She is an absolute doll! I've been seeing her now for a couple months, and it's been wonderful to watch her grow and learn. She takes her time with the whole process and never makes me feel rushed. Yes, the redness went away and some of the smaller cuts healed quickly, but it's now a week later and a few are still there. Just a heads up if you're getting it for a big event... don't. It's safe to say that I am OBSESSED with this place. I've been going here for 2 years now. I love that they offer so many different services - it really is a one stop stop. I've had my eyebrows done, bikini wax and my nails done. Another thing I love about this place is that I always get such a warm welcome when I walk in. These girls remember you and remember what's going on with you in your life. It's so personal here and I always feel so great seeing them. I just recently moved away and still make sure to get my nails done here when I come home (which is very often). I had gone to DBL because I liked the girl who did my hair, but I absolutely hated the atmosphere at the salon. I felt like I was in Mean Girls - cliquey, passive-aggressive, and snarky. Better looking people obviously got better treatment. As soon as some clients would leave, the employees would talk about them immediately. I have been there while Dallas is around, and she seems like she thrives in the idea of being a queen bee. I got my nails done there for awhile, and since they drill off gel polish, it caused damage that didn't grow out for about 4 months. This is a review for the Market Square location. I came and got a gel pedicure here on my lunch break. I had been in the space before when it was Denham & Co - it looks completely different, but that's not a bad thing. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and offered something to drink. I chose a mug of tea but they even have wine for those who aren't coming in during the middle of their workday! Krista did my pedicure and she helped me pick out a color before giving me one of the best pedicures I've ever received. She made my feet gorgeous, smooth and moisturized without being overly rough or aggressive with the file. We had good conversation but she wasn't overly chatty and just let me zen out for a little bit too. And most importantly, my toenails look great. All around positive experience and I will definitely come back here the next time I need a little me-time in the middle of a workday. This review is sooo long overdue! I started going to Dallas Beauty last May. After having box dyed my hair black for over 8 years, I was finally ready to lighten it up. I went in for a balayage and hair cut (with a stylist that is no longer working there). I was prewarned and well prepared that it takes time to lighten box dyed black hair and I shouldn't expect blonde overnight. I left the salon loving my haircut and feeling a little discouraged about the darkness of my hair, but figured I just needed to trust the process. I had scheduled another appointment for the following week with the same stylist to see if we could try again with lightening my black hair. I again left this appointment feeling even more discourage and ready to give up on light hair. I never said anything to any employee or complained about my hair not being blonde enough or expressed I was upset. The next day, I received an email from Dallas saying that her receptionist told her about my experience. She apologized that I had to come in multiple times and the color wasn't pulling. She offered me to come in again, free of charge, with another stylist!! Talk about customer service!!! Later that month I went back in and had my hair done by Hannah and left absolutely in love (with my hair and Hannah)! I've been going to Hannah ever since and she is amazing! I leave the salon every time feeling like she did exactly what I asked for! I went from having long black hair to a short balayage bob! She is literally the best hair stylist I've ever been to! And extremely relatable and easy to talk to. After a great experience with Hannah, I started getting my nails done at DBL in March of this year. I usually have either Emily or Olivia -- both of which do an amazing job! Both ladies are easy to talk to and super nice! I'm not the best at thinking of creative ideas for my nails, so I always do the mystery mani. Again, I never leave disappointed! If I could give zero stars, I would. Save your hair - mine is breaking off from the damage. Went for a hair consult and said I typically get balayage but wanted the color to go to the root. I was advised to get all over highlights. The girl didn't have any appointments soon, so I made an one with Amber because I was told she was one of the best at blondes. I needed a couple inches off and the layers shaped in again. I asked about the highlights because I didn't want it to look streaky or fake. I was told it wouldn't. After the cut + color she turned me to the side so I couldn't see it until she was done styling it. That's why I didn't see the damage until I got home and washed it. As you can see, the cut and color were awful. I called to tell them I was very unhappy with my hair. Dallas got on the phone and asked why. I explained that the color didn't go to the root. She said there is still space when it goes to the root. I then asked if the root is not in your scalp and why there were inch gaps. She said it's because you can't put color all the way to the scalp because it will burn, which is false (I confirmed with the salon that fixed my hair). They told me to come back and Amber would fix it so she could "earn my trust back." I was uncomfortable about her damaging it more so I called again to ask for a refund. They said no and said I could only see the same stylist. I said I was too uncomfortable. I was not risking her doing even more damage. They wouldn't refund my money but offered a $50 gift card and asked me to confirm my email. They never sent it. I even offered to email pictures to show Dallas how bad it was. You can see how bad the layers were. The color was left on too long and my hair is breaking off, so I have to get protein treatments. I highly recommend not going here for your hair. I regret ever trying it. I went to an amazing salon in downtown Pittsburgh to fix it. The stylist did what she could, but it will take multiple appointments. She said it's a lie that color can't touch the scalp. read more

Let's just say I've spent a lot of money here in the last few months... and I don't regret a cent. I came here for the first time for a balayage and cut, also to get extensions for my wedding. Annie is so sweet and did a great job (I'm super paranoid with my hair). I was concerned the extensions wouldn't match but they are PERFECT. SOOO worth the money. Okay, let me start by saying I've pretty much tried every service offered at this salon because I'm a big believer in the owner's vision and the services clearly speak for themselves. If you're looking for specialty work in the greater Pittsburgh area- look no further, you've found it ladies. First, let's discuss the obvious- Nails. Take a quick peak at their @dallasbeautylounge page on Instagram. Real people, real nail work.. if you're looking to do something unique with your nails- it's a no-brainer, this is the place. Next- the "spa" service area. This has certainly grown over the past 2 years and I personally thank GOD it has! Eyelash extensions with Kelly are amazing and full. Yes, they're pricey- but they're pricey everywhere! Make sure you're getting quality products- this salon has the best. Moving on to my favorite person and service at this salon- KARRI (aka: the brow master). She literally works WONDERS with brows. If you need something as simple as a brow wax- she makes it a very personal experience and actually listens to her clients. Not to mention all the other services offered, like brow tinting and my personal favorite- MICROBLADING. I'm not going to lie, after my first session it faded pretty quick. Obviously, I thought I had probably wasted my money. But- I trusted the process and went back for my recommended "touch up" 5-6 weeks later. I can't express to you how important that touch up really is.. what a difference! It's almost been a year and I truly didn't even need a touch up yet- They still looked awesome! (For anyone considering- just keep in mind the brows will fade the first round but take my word for it- go to the touch up appointment and you'll be hooked forever. SO Worth it.) Anyway, I just got my "Color Boost" done because they're having a "monthly special" and my routine (annual) time would be coming up soon so I figured "why not get a deal?"... all I can say is, another awesome appointment with Karri. She's truly the best! So, If you're looking for brows, I HIGHLY recommend this salon. If you're looking for unique custom nail designs- again, I recommend this salon. So great I decided to have microblading done. I made the deposit. However, a scheduling error occurred, I had it down on a different day then they did. Ok. So I will reschedule, right? Wrong. No appointments for a month AND even if I do reschedule they were keeping my $50 deposit. Keep in mind this was with 48 hours notice. I'm a busy woman. I own two companies and I think great customer service and a little flexibility goes a long way. I understand the importance of trying to keep an appointment however things happen. I finally made an appointment to get my nails done (actually mad I waited so long!) I have had trouble in the past getting my nails done because they are so thin, and all the filing down of my nails made them even worse (and even painful). I knew from their posts that they work with each of their clients to do what is best, and it was so true.
