    Love Jackie the owner been coming here since 2021. It's my favorite nail place. They give teachers discounts and that's nice. Teachers deserve nice nails. My former student used to tell me I needed to get my fingernails done bc I only get a pedicure typically and no polish on nails. Highly recommend

    Let me start off by saying I'm a NY girl! When moving to Dallas, I knew I needed to find a nail salon that could do the type of nails and provide the quality of service I was used to in New York. Nail boutique has EXCEEDED my expectations. The vibes are immaculate, all of the staff are so nice. The owner Jackie is very sweet and you can tell she cares about the clients. Shout out to my nail guy Rick who is meticulous and always has my nails looking amazing. I'm so happy I found this place and didn't have to try out a bunch of places before. I get gel fills with the occasional nail design and they can do anything any everything you can imagine. The price point is comparable to NY except here they do charge you for nail shape even if you came in with the shape originally but I'm told that's standard in the area. A few things other things I was surprised by is being charged to cut my nails and also being charged extra if you have longer nails. Those are the only few things that they don't do in NY. Nonetheless, it's not something that will deter me from continuing to come and get my nails done here.

    First and foremost, let me open with saying what is the purpose of booking online if the staff is not going to refer to the booking notes? I went to this place today, Saturday, April 26th, after booking services online for dip powder with design and a basic pedicure. When I arrived, the manager on duty, who I presume to be "Jackie" asked me what pedicure service I wanted. I asked her what the difference was between the basic and the Mai Tai pedicure, and she claimed that it was using a callous grater and a longer massage. She then asked if I wanted a gel pedicure or a basic polish, and I responded saying I wanted a regular polish. She then invited me to pick out the color that I wanted. As far as the Mai Tai pedicure was concerned, neither of the discriminators between basic and Mai Tai "Jackie" claimed would happen happened. Next, it took about 20 to 25 minutes before my dip powder specialist came out. I immediately showed her a picture of the design that I wanted, and she proceeded to pick out colors. After the initial steps of removing my current dip powder, and another 10 to 15 minutes, this specialist admitted that she does not do design and was getting someone who could do the design. At this point, my pedicure service had ended, and I asked the new manager on duty how long it would take before I could get my nails done. He told me that they were getting someone who could do the design, and I politely informed him that I had booked a service with design. He immediately responded placing blame on me, claiming that when I was asked what dip powder I wanted, I showed a solid color. This is simply untrue. I never was asked to show a dip powder color, only a pedicure color. I promptly corrected him, and he informed me that the lady who would do my nails was wrapping up with another guest. As soon as she was wrapping up with the other client, she promptly came over to start servicing me, and I offered that we move to a regular nail station since my pedicure was now done. She did a good job and was sweet; however, there was a blemish on my nail, which I was willing to overlook in the interest of time. When it was all said and done, I ended up being there two hours and 15 minutes, when my services combined should've taken no more than one hour. At check out, there was no acknowledgment of my long wait or apologies. I responded saying that they needed to address their mistake. The manager on duty was only willing to offer me a 10% discount. I told him he could do better than that, and his response was that it would be taken out of his paycheck. He was also quick to place blame on the earlier manager, which is fine; however, I told him that the customer is always right, and he should not have blamed me for their mistake when I first alerted him to the issue. He attempted to call the manager, and when he could not reach her, he restated to me that the best he could do with 10%. I insisted that he could do better. When he was able to get ahold of the manager, come to find out it was the same manager when I first arrived. He repeated to me that he could then do a 15% discount with my total coming to $113. That meant my very simple dip powder and nail design was $75 and my pedicure was $38. Unacceptable. At this point, I said I was not paying $113 and the manager on duty handed the cell phone to the staff who was in training to talk to the manager over the phone. The manager insisted that she was not doing anything more than 15%, and even told me that I had never booked a service with design, and they had only recently changed my service to design when they realized that is what I wanted today. I quickly corrected her, telling her that that was untrue. I told her I had an email confirmation from the day prior confirming that I had booked dip powder WITH DESIGN. At this point, she kept repeating untruths. I told her that at this point, I was going to write a bad review if they didn't admit to their wrongdoing & make accommodations for it. She continued to ignore the fact that I had evidence to the contrary, & when I told her she was gaslighting me, her response was very disrespectful. She then warned me that services were rendered & I needed to pay. I told her & the staff that this is not the type of service that you pay for, and there was no reason for me to have stress for a service that is supposed to be relaxing. Quite frankly, it was very embarrassing to have to talk to professionals about their unprofessional behavior in front of other guests. This country has had a very awful behavior towards minorities and people of color. As a black woman, who pays and tips well, I did not appreciate this demeaning behavior. I was willing to pay for services rendered, but I should not have paid more than $100 for what I received, especially given the long wait for THEIR mistake. Update: Very clear Jackie does not want take accountability. Narcissist traits. Thanks for proving my point. Don't waste your time here.

    ** Beware Shady establishment *** Beware of this place. They are not transparent about their pricing listed. I asked to see a menu when I arrived and was handed one. After my service, it was much more than expected and when I expressed my concern, she said "updated pricing is online". Shady business. I was also cut extremely bad on my finger and nothing was done about it, all she said is "well you're not bleeding". My finger is cut deep and can get infected. My finger is extremely painful. This is one of the worst nail salons I've been to.

    I tried this salon out a couple of weeks ago and got a pedicure. The front staff were really welcoming and friendly. I got their mid tier pedicure. I would say their prices are on the higher end but comparable to all salon prices at this time. I enjoyed my pedicure... I'd say I have had better experiences at other salons, maybe it was just the tech. Felt like she could have done a bit better job cleaning my toe, but no complaints. The salon itself is big, clean, and cutely decorated. It sits in a cute shopping area near a sprouts and a brunch cafe.

    So here is the deal.... I've read about people having an unsavory experience, but sometimes it all depends on who you go to. I usually don't spill my secrets, but Rick is superb!! He can shape very well, he does amazing nail designs and I haven't brought an inspo picture in that he didn't deliver very close to the same thing. Also I haven't had issues with peeling/lifting nails or the design coming off. They haven't broken off either and I can go 3 weeks before a fill/new set. PS...Tao makes great drinks and honestly, if you come in on time for your appointment, then enjoy the experience...but definitely ask for Rick!

    The nails looked great but the prices are outrageous and they don't tell you upfront that there are up charges. The manager came back and responded to my review saying the girls did discuss it but they didn't and she wasn't there. It shouldn't cost over $200 for a kids mani/pedi and a fill and pedi for me regardless of what kind of polish was used. We didn't even have designs, just polish!

    She does do nails. If one of her techs does a bad job she'll cop a huge attitude with you when you let her know how it was, so I wouldn't even bother.

But the door to the building was locked -- you have to go up the stairs in the back, there isn't another way in to the spa suites. I was standing out in the rain for a minute waiting for someone to let me in. Thankfully, one of the girls in one of the suites had just arrived and unlocked the door. What was interesting is that she was the first one there. Like she had to disarm the alarm and turn on all the lights in the waiting area. For a 10am wax appointment, I found this odd. Doesn't your wax have to heat up? I was trying to give Tonayia the benefit of the doubt....Lord knows emergencies happen. I waited nearly 20 minutes and tried calling Tonayia's 972 # that's on her confirmation email. It's the same # that's listed in her Yelp posting, too. What was weird was that the phone didn't ring. I just got a message stating that this number wasn't accepting phone calls. No way to leave a message. So I emailed her by responding to her confirmation to tell her I was leaving. At this point, I had been waiting over 20 minutes with zero communication. Again, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I have a small business and I know things happen. But 2 1/2 days later, still no response to my email. There's nothing worse than when someone wastes your time. If she does go into business again, I'd highly suggest calling before you head to your appointment to make sure that she's really in the office. Fortunately, Peace Love Wax in Plano (who has a no tipping policy) was able to get me in the same day. I'd suggest going there instead.
