Mary , who is the owner of the shop in my opinion is Racist! She caters to white people, but not so much to blacks. The last incident (about a month or so ago) made me and my wife stop going there. There was a celebration of some kind going on at the shop and she was handing out cake and soft drinks to the customers. Well, she gave a plate to everyone except my wife, who is black by the way. All the other customers were white. I wasn't there, but If i was, i would have demanded the same treatment as she was giving her white customers. This isn't the first time we noticed her discriminating attitude. Several times we were told to come back because they didn't have enough technicians working, but a minute or so later, Mary told other (white) customers to wait for their next available technician. I'm not saying everybody that works there is racist because we have met some nice people there, but the owner sure seems to have a problem with my dark skin. read more

Usually when you ask for a pedi a nice leg massage and some pampering is done to you for the charge of $15. No $15 isn't that much... but $15 for the young lady to just "paint" my nails isn't fair. Been coming here since 2017 & often end up getting Mary who is great! I can't leave a pic because I went to a place down the street & they refused to use primer saying it was only for acrylics. All places have used the primer/bonding on me when I tell them how oily I am, even with dip powder. They got the glue way up on my cuticles. It looks bad. I should leave pics there but don't want to be rude. I felt stupid for not going to Advanced but wanted to go with my friend Friday & they are already lifting here on Tuesday. I have never had an experience so horrible. $30 for an express pedi. We walked in and there were no greetings or farewells, friendly service or anything. We were simply asked to pick the color we'd like and take a seat. A man began to fill up the water in the basin underneath my feet and left. and at first it was fine- then it became so horribly hot that I had to take my feet out of the basin. A lady quickly noticed and fixed it, and that was that. She asked me if the temperature was good- I told her it would be nice if it was warmer. She told me "It's fine." And left. There was very little communication between the employee and I, and she did not wear gloves. We paid for the callus removal and my feet remain callused and cracked. The employee filed my nails so that they were all different shapes- my left toenail is oblong and wide compared to the thin and oval right toenail. The polish is pretty good. She picked at my toes so much that they began to bleed. We left, paid our bill, it was done. I was unsatisfied but not ready to give a bad review yet. I came in with a picture of my own nails (the light pink ones shown) I've gotten done there by a different lady && showed Robyn - today's nail technician. She said she could definitely dWe did end up starting cutting them shorter than I had wanted, but I didn't say anything. I could rock short nails in the almond style no problem‍‍‍ ThAts if Robyn knew how to do that... which we learn She doesn't. It was when she started shaping them all different lengths and shapes && blamed me for it looking that way we had. Problem. Told me that it's what I said I wanted. She filed the shorter ones down so much there was no room to actually give an almond shape without looking ridiculous but apparently it was my fault and Robyn wasn't willing to fix it at all. Only file the decent looking ones short and stubby looking like the others. All I ask was to simply fix them. I tip well, I'm always nice, I come pretty often..... lolol I told her if she didn't fix or redo them that I would take them off. She told me that's fine I still need to pay. I told my family && friends this... they couldn't believe it. The GM tried to tell me the reason the nails on my right hand were shorter than the nails on my left hand are because of my nail beds.......... Anyway I said I at least want a discount. I'm not paying FULL price for these terrible nails I'm going to take off. They told me Do pay now and they'll fix tmrw. I shouldn't have paid but they told me $40 and I unfortunately paid it..... I came next day and the only woman in there that can do anything with liquid acrylic or nexgen is Tammy. She saw the picture ..she knew. Before Tammy came in the salon GM was taking my nails off and making shitty comments about how I need to say if I don't like what she's doing ... just being snarky about it. Tammy came in and did my nails. OH MY GOD so much better. I tipped her $20. As I was leaving they were wanting to charge me more than the $40 they told me the night before. They said instead of $40 it was going to be $45 for my nails plus $15!!! For my rhinestones lol. They've never charged me that much for rhinestones but that's not what gets me.... She was trying to hit me up for $5 more dollars for the service she said was $40 and I already paid for ..... After ten years off and on. I won't be back!!! Charged $60 for dip powder when most salons charge about $40. Didn't push back or cut my cuticles, made the dip layers too thin, so within 4 days the nails were cracking across. Dip powder is supposed to last 6 weeks when done correctly, yes you'll need fills but the nail itself will still be strong. They did a good job at making the nails the right size and length, and they employees are nice, but any other salon could have done a better job for $20 less read more

Worst experience. This salon up-charges whatever they can. Customer service isn't great. This was my first time at this salon because I had recently moved and was trying it out, this me having a lot of questions. My technician couldn't give me a straight forward answer and kept beating around the bush, then would get frustrated when I wouldn't stop asking the same question that she couldn't give me a straight answer to! Also, I had gotten in at 5:30 and they closed at 7:00 (I wasn't asking for anything complex bu they way just regular nexgyn with a tip), but they chose to give me the nail tech that was in a huge rush to get out of there, and she ended up cutting almost all my finger beds! They kept me waiting while my feet soaked then attended to 3-5 walk-ins before they got back to me. Worst Pedicure Ever! Just moved to McKinney and live very close to this location - so I decided to give it a try. The lady working on my toes hurt me several times. As a matter of fact, my big toe aches and I've been slathering Neosporin on it. I opted for the upgraded pedi and had the most disappointing paraffin wax and hot stone massage. At the end of the torture session, my toes looked OK and I was just ready to GO HOME. The older lady took my payment and asked if I'd been there before. I said, No, I just moved to the new neighborhood beside Walmart. She asked, "How much you pay for house?" Being caught so off guard by this inappropriate question, I gave her an answer (even tho it was none of her business!) and she said, "OH NO! TOO Much! You pay too much!" (I'm pretty sure she's not really too in touch with the real estate and new home construction industry.) To top off the lovely experience - when I was writing in my tip amount on the CC receipt, she said "Only $5???" (Normally I like to tip twice that when I'm not being tortured) I went straight home to my "overpriced" house and had to hop in the tub to remove the excessive oil that was left on my feet. First, the good. If you get Nextgen nails, this is your place. I am SUPER picky about my nails and have tried dang near every shop in town. I've finally found a place that gets it right and Robin is the best at the them. Perfect thickness, gets the entire nail, listens to you, and can take your old ones off lightning fast. I've had a few experiences where it takes forever to get the old ones off and it makes me crazy! "T" did my pedicure and was super detailed and did a great job applying my lacquer. Overall, they do a lovely job and are worth every dollar. EDIT: They have moved locations since I wrote this review (just one door over), and their new space is awesome. Still no wine but the pedicure selections have gotten better and they have those "fancier" lotions now. They've stepped up their game. Because of this, I have removed my negative comments about the ambience and not having fancy products, etc. I've also changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. read more

My nails chip or break within days, their polish is old and clumpy, then they don't even go in order. They just take white people first, assuming they'll get a tip. Just unprofessional, I've seen the manager be rude to 3 (only black) women on 3 occasions, insulting one on the amount of her tip. Who does that. I've tried this place the last few times that I got my nails done, it started out good but the last two times have been terrible. They tried to charge 5 more dollars than the time before for the exact same thing. When I was waiting for the nexgen topcoat to finish the owner walked by and was like I put cuticle oil on just for you. Come on that is for everyone don't act like you gave me something extra I'm already paying for. Then today I brought a friend bc at least my nails usually turned out good. I wanted ombré nexgen she said it'd be 45 I said ok. Then she starts putting gel acrylic stuff over my nails. They looks horrendous, I hate this stuff, she cut into my finger with the filing board and the shape is terrible. The service was so rude. I will never be back and neither will my friend. I wasn't very happy with my service here. I came for the 20% off. Everything started off well, until the end. My nail tech kept slicing my fingers with the nail filer. He didn't offer anything to drink, & I just thought maybe they didn't do that here, but he offered his next client something to drink. I just brushed it off, and then I go to pay and she says it's $36. I'm confused because the service costs $35. Some places charge for take off, so it came to $40. Most places I've been to it's 35 with take off. I got a coffin shape, and generally that's about $2. This place charges $5. It's just a few dollars, but after all the additional charges, that's quite a difference. So not only was it not very hospitable, but I didn't feel I saved any money. read more
