I have heard a lot about this place and its multiple locations (here, Houston, Chicago) but never tried it until the other night. This being the flagship location and in my neighborhood is kinda cool. I never even tried them when they were a stand on Rainey. Jeez, I was missing out. I like that the inside is basically just a walk-up counter (with bar seating) so you can get the food to go or eat outside as well in the little area provided. I gotta say this was one of the best burgers I've ever had and it was so filling. I couldn't even finish it. Saved the leftovers for the next day though! You can't do any better for a burger than wagyu beef. There's just something about it that gives an extra bang of flavor to the smash burger. I just don't think you'd get the same taste from 80/20 ground beef, lol. The fries are to die for...they're good in the beef grease. How much more yum can you get? Okay. So. While I'm a tried and true fan of Jew Boy Burgers, and while I also rate their burgers 5 stars, I can't deny that this is a great burger. I respect the small menu. The burger is the only main option on the menu, but boy do they do this one thing well. If you want a burger, yes, this is where you want to go. In fact, if you're going with one other, I truly think you'll be satisfied ordering one burger, with an extra patty, and splitting it. It is pricey ($16 + $8 for an extra patty), and therefore the splitting recommendation. For wagyu, yes, worth it. You can taste the difference, and that's even including the seasoning. Prepare for greasiness. Claps to NADS. Great concept. Open till 3 AM and of course probably exactly what you need after a night out on 6th. I typically never like to try spots when they first open up that are all over social media. I like for the hype to die down for a better overall experience. My buddy wanted to go, so I agreed. We went on a Friday (12/8) at 1 PM. We were told a 45-minute wait, and it was exactly that. It is very crammed inside. Little to no spots to sit. We got lucky with two bar seats in front of the kitchen. We got our two cocktails at the beginning. I know this place is a burger joint, not cocktails. However, with a 45-minute wait on a beautiful sunny Friday, we wanted to try them out. We were pretty disappointed in both of them. We tried the Disco Flip (6.5/10) and the Nosegrind (4/10 - could not finish). Now for the burgers, I will say, the first bite was very delicious. But after that, the magic just went downhill in every bite. For $16, they are very small in size. Cheese is your ordinary kraft sliced cheese which you can tell. It was way too greasy at the end for me to even finish it all. I give it overall a 7/10. We tried the beast mode loaded fries. Personally, the fries I was able to pick with nothing on them were the best. I just was not a fan of the toppings, and I am a pickle lover too. Confirmed that sadly this place is way too overhyped. Plenty of better burgers in the area. If you are reading this and haven't tried the OG Dans or Sandys, go do it! read more

I was already feeling skeptical when the people at the next table didn't have any huge reactions when biting into the burger. The burger is not bad, but it doesn't wow me. It is also very greasy. My husband and I were in Austin and had just seen a reel on Instagram about NADC so of course we decided to make this our last stop before leaving! We were the first ones in line and the man (possibly owner) that was there setting up the signs was super nice and inviting. The Burger: Yes it is not a huge burger, BUT super packed with flavor and perfectly executed! As for the cost . . . it's WAGU!! My family literally uses my husbands stomach and ability to digest food without getting sick as the litmus test for the quality of meat and he did just fine with this burger. It was juicy, flavorful, and honestly, if you need to eat more than this coupled with the fries, your stomach has way too much real estate! The Fries: Freaking amazing! The fries are so good BUT if you have issues with salt I'd either stay away OR ask them if you can get fries with no salt. And the ketchup! Seriously, they need to bottle it and sell it! It's so good! It tastes like it has course black pepper and oregano, I have never had a ketchup that tasted so good! Seating: Very small seating area so be prepared to possibly eat in your car or on a bench nearby. Since we were the first to get there I secured a table while my husband ordered. Though the lines can be long, they move fast so don't let the line discourage you. This is a definite MUST, and we will be going back for more! Now that that is out of the way, let's get on with the review. I really wanted to enjoy NADC burger after all the hype, yes I will admit the burger is good. However, my goodness, atomically charging a service charge for a counter top style restaurant along with a tip? There's a lot of potential but this just didn't do it for me. Atmosphere: Very small counter style, I believe this place used to be a pizza joint so there some remnants of that in terms of layout. Food: I will admit the burger is a very good burger. Juicy and certainly flavorful, however the portion for the price is so small. My friend and I still left hungry, and honestly left to Hopdoddy. They also didn't have any fries or desserts. With such a limited menu I'd hope that there is plenty of supply for mostly burgers or fries. Is it the "best burger in Austin" as so many "influencers" claim. Arguable, because it's so drenched in sauce it might as well not be wagyu or makes little difference. To give credit the sauce is tasty. Service: There really isn't a service, you order from the counter, and they call out your name. With that said the interactions with the staff I had were nice. I really did want to give this place a chance, but with how it stands now with an automatic charge that isn't announced anywhere on the menu or the checkout process..."Not a 'dang' chance" indeed. I honestly am hesitant to even say "try with caution". That being the biggest disappointment. So what's next. 20%...50%...200% auto charge? Such a practice in my opinion must be stopped immediately. This just spits in the face of places that include a service charge and actually provide a valid service to wait on tables and care for customers. The burger was delicious, you can really taste the quality of the meat. It was rich in flavor and clearly made with care. That said, the customer service was pretty average. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing memorable either. The place itself is quite small, but we were lucky enough to arrive just before it got busy and were able to grab seats. The atmosphere is nice. Parking was $3 right out front, though there weren't many spots available. I can imagine parking would be a real challenge during peak times. Now for the price, this is definitely on the expensive side. The burger alone was close to $20, and despite how tasty it was, I didn't feel full afterward. This isn't the kind of place you go to satisfy a quick burger craving; it's more of a treat-yourself experience. While the burger is great, I do think you can find others that are nearly as good for significantly less. I'd consider coming back, but only when I'm in the mood to splurge a bit. read more

The stacked waygu patties with the ooey gooey cheese, pickles and jalapeños melted together in just one bite. I didn't leave the restaurant thinking it was a heavy meal at all. I've been seeing all the Austin influencers post about this burger spot and decided to give it a try. My partner and I ordered two burgers and a side of fries which came out to $43, which was kind of insane. The main draw of these burgers was that they're made with Texas Wagyu. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype for us. Although the burger was tasty, it was too salty. I liked the fries, since they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, but the 'beast mode" addition was very meh -- it was just a slice of cheese and some sauce. Hell. Yes. If lived up to the hype was a review, consider it this one. These burgers are THE BOMB. We came in around 3pm on New Year's Eve, and there was no wait, no line. We sat at the bar. The bartender was cool as shit. After we were done eating, Neen came over to ask how it was and he was stoked that we loved it, and thanked us for coming in. What a cool spot. SUPER FIRE. I'm a big fan of Phillip frank lee and sushi by scratch in Encino is my fav spot in California. So when I hear about his smash burgers I was super stoked to try em out. This is done so perfectly for me. I never like my burger with tomatoes,lettuce, and so on. This burger has smashed wagyu, cheese, jalopeno and pickles. The fewer the ingredients, the merrier the flavor. It is so juicy, cheesy, and has a slight kick of spicyness from jalopeno and tangy sweet taste of the pickle. The secret sauce is yum! The wagyu is unnecessary for a great burger. I feel like its a form of perception value to increase profits. Its currently rated a 3.9 and i think thats accurate. Overall, ambience was pretty cool a skaters version of a burger bar/stand that was easily accessible, and the menu was quite easy to understand and read. Not a lot of options for the burger, but I believe that is the point of this burger place. I know that it's founded by a Michelin star chef and one of my personal favorite skateboarders of all time Neen Williams. I definitely go back if you are a smash burger, lover, and someone that loves onions because there is no option to remove them, but that's what makes this place so unique and one of a kind. The fries were amazing. I like the combinations that they have and other options for them and I feel like this is a place that you can become a regular quickly. The people working in the back were nice, calm collected and genuinely understanding. They cook the food right in front of you so it's made to order and it's high-quality ingredients. In my opinion, this is a nine out of 10, just because I'm nitpicking about the onions, lol. But overall, this is a great place to come and try if you're in town. read more

A double wagyu smash burger sent straight from Heaven. I truly believe this may have been the best burger I have ever had in my life. The cheese was melted to perfection, the superior quality of the beef was noticeable, and the bun was perfectly toasted. The fries were pretty great too. Next time I want to try the Beast Fries. Location: We originally went to their brick-and-mortar spot, but it was closed, so we were redirected to the food truck lot on E6th. Easy to get to, with ample picnic tables and a dog-friendly vibe. Note this was back on April 1st so not sure if they are back in their brick & mortar location since. They do excellent at getting that crispy edge on the patties along with chopped onions, well melted cheese and a soft bun. The wait is often long and was for me but it's a popular spot so I expected it. If you go the Rainey street location parking is horrible and you just have to pray you won't get towed. Their seasoned fries are also good with their house made ketchup.
