I have had many dip polishes done on my nails and it's a process that takes some time and practice. Although very nice the person who did my nails had little knowledge of what he was doing. My nails are lumpy, I have missing polish on the corner of one of my nails, they are way to thick, and the top coat has bubbles. Honestly they look like I did them myself instead of a professional. I couldn't be more disappointed and especially with the price I paid to get them done. And then they rushed me out of the chair to get the next person in while I was attempting to put my shoes on. The reason for getting the two stars is the salon was clean and the people seemed very nice other wise a goose egg. Would I go back - no! If you need a full set of acrylics this is the place to go to! I have been loving my two recent set of nails from "The nail master John" (my nickname for him) and cannot recommend him enough. I am very picky at where I get my nails done and really pay attention to the technique of not only the nail polish application but the prep work of the actual acrylic. This place hires manicurists who do not have licenses the poor girl did not even know how to make my nails the same length! And when I asked to see her license, they scrambled for a long time and I think they brought me someone else's because the names didn't even match. Open on Sunday...Yay. I got a eyebrow wax and a pedicure and both were good. The technician was a little rough and didn't seem to speak or understand English so I was kind of concerned about what I was signing up for. Fortunately I received the base manicure which is what I wanted. He did use rubber gloves during the pedicure which always bothers me. Doesn't feel the same. I guess I get it though. I wouldn't want to be touching anyone's feet either. The main draw to this place to me is the Sunday hours. And they have plenty of choices of the bright orange that I always wear. A lot of shops don't carry it. So this will be on my pedicure rotation. read more

I have gotten my nails there quite often, and have been extremely satisfied, yet not today. I had an appointment, arrived 5 minutes early, and no one acknowledged me. I LOVE this place and Yan and the rest of staff are fabulous! Yan has remembered me every time I come in for a pedi even though it has been years since she has serviced my needs. They are thorough, kind, prices are great and by far, this is the longest-lasting pedicure I have ever gotten. I keep coming back because it lasts almost a month or more! I went to this place on Friday to get a manicure and pedicure. There were many things that were not good about this place at all. They did my pedicure first and made me wait an hour while they did everyone else that came in after me and then did my manicure. For the manicure, it looks ok but they did not fix my cuticles when I asked them to. The WORST thing was that their machines and practices were very unsanitary. I got athlete's foot from going to their business. I've never gotten athlete's foot before and I strongly recommend not going here for pedicures. read more

I waiting for almost 40mins to be helped (I wanted a gel pedi) which was fine had they sat me down with some water while I waited! Instead I sat on a waterless seat... then when I was finally helped, I asked for the Deluxe pedi but I'm confused as to what was "deluxe" about it since she just painted my toes, no massage or callus removal. I wanted a relaxing time, but I definitely did not get it. My nails were not done that great. It was a mediocre job and the place wasn't even packed. Very disappointed. It's MLK day and I decide to get my nails done. Went in as a walk in and was welcomed by Mimi. This place is under a new management so it's a lot better than the previous. I am beyond satisfied with my nails. Mimi did a terrific job!! She was very sweet and experienced. I wanted a simple color so she made a recommendation for the color 57 Mousse. It was so relaxing they were playing some of my favorite songs by U2 and Coldplay! I was very impressed by the way she worked and result of my nails. This place is super cheap, which is literally the only thing it has going for it. The pedicures are alright; I'd maybe go there in a pinch. Do not get a manicure here, PARTICULARLY gel. Worst manicure of my life. A sloppy mess that looked like it had a week of growth the minute I left there. I also had to go back to have them fix things that I just wasn't going to live with for two or three weeks. That took a half hour. Definitely not worth whatever I saved. read more

So, I moved to North County about a month ago and needed to find a new nail place. I drove along El Camino Real and stumbled upon this one by sheer chance and have gone to them twice since. Both times, I have had the pleasure of getting Brian, an adorable little man. He did my usual shellac (this time I did "clear sparkly"or "sparkly clear" which I liked more than I expected) with great care and took immense precautions to make sure he did not hurt me (i.e. STAB my cuticles, razor off my nail bed, make me bleed, you know, the usual...) He did a beautiful job both times so grade A on competence and consistency. What really makes Brian the whole enchilada though is his personality. So often, you get a manicurist who is just silent with the conversation skills of a walrus or doesn't speak English at all so you are just sitting there for an hour staring into space or on the phone with a friend, trying to make impersonal conversation since anything verging on too personal (aka: the deep stuff) can be heard and for private folk like me, I don't want to air anything personal onto the unsuspecting public. With Brian, he actually converses with you, asks about your day, makes the time wizz by with his witty anecdotes... I just love him. Highly recommend him, haven't seen any of the other people there and not taking the chance of being disappointed so I'm sticking with him. *Shockingly*, he is the only dude in the place so he's easy to spot. read more
