My manicure always lasts a minimum of 2 weeks and I love that she uses CND products. They are the best! I always get compliments on my nails wherever I go. Maleni has been doing my (and my husband's) manicure and pedicure for almost a year now, and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The instant you enter her cozy nail studio, you are welcomed with a warm smile. And then the entire nail service is superb! She is gentle but thorough with the cutting of my cuticles, and the massage that follows is heavenly. The quality of the nail polish is also excellent. I get a basic manicure every two weeks, and never do I see the nail polish chip before that time, and I am a mom of two who is constantly cooking and cleaning! Because the studio is small, there is a very good chance you are the only one who will be getting their nails done, and as such, all attention will be paid to you! Your music, drink, etc of choice will be given immediately! Maleni's sweet professionalism also creates an environment in which you feel completely comfortable and relaxed! What a great nail shop! I looked on Yelp for a new nail salon and came across this great little place. Maleni got right back to me and I booked a gel manicure yesterday. I was so impressed, I went back today for a gel pedicure. I'm even more impressed! The parking is convenient, you get validation for 2 hours. This will definitely be my permanent nail salon. What a hidden gem in the heart of Del Mar! I followed Maleni from another salon and she has been doing my nails for about four years. She does amazing work and it's a pleasure spending time with her. The salon is cozy and the massage chairs for pedicures are the absolute best! Maleni is also great at massage and getting any kind of manicure/pedicure is a treat for that reason alone. I just started to come here to Maleni after trying several salons in the area for the past 12 years! Well, I have to say that I am very happy with Maleni. All the other reviews are correct, the gel mani lasts for 3 weeks. Last place I went to barely lasted me 2 weeks! I have a regular pedicure on my feet and its 3 weeks now and except for where you can see my nail growing out, the polish is still fine. She has the same massage chairs you find in the larger salons which is also a plus for me. For me, I was tired of going to these large nail salons where you have to turn sideways as you are trying to enjoy your pedicure to get a manicure. One person will be massaging your feet and at the same time you are getting your cuticles trimmed on your hands. How are you supposed to be enjoying the massage? Maleni is fantastic! Most times I go in, I want something complicated like hand painted nail design, glitter, fade, ombre's etc. and I have NEVER been disappointed! She is extremely talented, sweet and attentive. Her location within Salon Republic is clean, comfortable and it never smells like chemicals, because she uses all natural products. She always remembers I love sparkling water, I don't like oil on my hands at the end, and remembers everything we ever talked about.
