A wonderful culinary adventure in the jungle. They have a cocktail with pickled guava. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I haven't. It was as good as everything else on the menu. Supremely inventive and incredibly delicious. Service was prompt and helpful without being overbearing and the entire dining room, bar, and lounge in the back was just lovely.

We were staying at the Nomade resort and wanted to try something offsite for dinner that was walkable (if you don't know, taxis in Tulum are UNBEARABLY expensive, as is parking IF parking is even available). We made a reservation but I'm sure depending on the season you can also just walk-in. The restaurant itself was very vibey - lit candles on tables and walls have it beautifully lit, fresh simple flowers on the tables. Really nice. The menu is not extensive and a good mix of seafood, beef, and vegetarian options. The drink menu is also curated nicely. We had a wonderful waiter who spoke perfect English (which is great because I speak toddler level Spanish). We had two daily specials - a ceviche appetizer and catch of the day. We also had the beef short ribs. For drinks, I had the weekly special, a rum punch, and my husband had the whiskey drink. Everything came out super quickly, was explained in detail tableside and it was all delicious. The ceviche appetizer had a wonderful Serrano oil - the catch of the day had awesome, crispy/salty yuka chips and a deep, rich chipotle sauce and the short ribs were fall off the bone tender. Overall, it was a great spot. We thoroughly enjoyed the vibe and meal. And it cost us the SAME as a taxi did to and from a cenote we visited earlier in the day ($150 usd). Definitely check this place out if you're near the beach and looking for a delicious meal with local, fresh food.

Oyster mushroom - horrible. Avoid at all cost

4.5 stars. Gorgeous interior with a huge wall covered in vibrant green foliage. Live music. MUST GET: Quail with mole: we were warned that the portion is small but the taste is right on point. Best dish on the menu that we tried. Expertly cooked bird with crispy exterior and moist interior. Excellent flavor for the quail and mole negro. Fresh caribbean fish - unique flavors. Like the tender fish and crunchy chip juxtaposition. SOLID: ice cream - they threw in a crunchy cookie and grilled raspberry which made this delicious. Kale salad AVOID: Oyster mushroom - probably the worst dish that I encountered in Tulum. I was expecting japanese style mushroom tempura and instead got heavy battered exterior, enclosing chewy and bland oyster mushrooms. Apple/pear dessert -( forgot which fruit it was). But this needed a bit of tart to go with the cooked fruit to make the dish more structured and nuanced. Chez panisse in Berkeley conjures up a fabulous version of apple tart that every restaurant should aspire to.

The food here was excellent. Definitely felt Like eating at a Michelin star restaurant. The food here was contemporary Mexican food. Started off with a chip & pumpkin seed salsa. It was definitely very different but the flavors were very creative & delicious. They had a habanero oil that added a nice kick. All the dishes presented were so different but opens up your palette to different taste, textures, & aromas. I would highly suggest ordering the grilled oysters, roasted cauliflower, pork belly tacos ,duck in black mole , and oven soccarat. All the dishes presented were phenomenal and loved the romantic ambiance. Had an amazing dinner.

We hosted our wedding weekend at Nest, NÜ, and Radhoo and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Our guests were treated like royalty which added to our special events. Every guest we spoke to was so impressed and loved every minute of staying at their Namron hotels (Nest, Radhoo, La Valise, and Xela). Our welcome party was a Nest which was the perfect first venue for us. Being on the beach with the breeze, the gorgeous jungle walkway to the space, the simple elegance of the space, the playlist and service was impeccable. We had an open bar and asked the staff to have welcome margaritas and they delivered. No one had an empty glass and we really appreciate that! The 2 hours flew by and we wish we would have done it for a little longer. It was wonderful to have all our loved ones at Nest and the staff made it even more special. The next day we had our wedding at NÜ and we were nervous and also excited. We were unable to come down early for a tasting but quickly realized that we didn't need to! The food was incredible. We are big foodies and we wanted everyone to have a culinary experience at our wedding. Our guests were extremely impressed and raved about the steak, Caribbean whole fish and the mashed potatoes!!! It was a 9 course meal and we were all full after! The drinks were amazing, they made our signature cocktail dreams come true with a French 75, Mai tai, and watermelon margaritas. Every step of the way Fernanda and Nathalie were so great at making sure all our guests who had allergies were taken care of. It was so great to just sit back and enjoy our wedding while the team handled everything perfectly. The next day we hosted a recovery pool day at Radhoo (which we heard is an exception but we had our guests fully booked out Radhoo so that helped) and people say this was one of their favorite days! It was relaxed, the bartenders were keeping our drinks full and the food was so good! Perfect place to be hungover. Have your wedding at the Namron Properties! You will not regret it.

A product of Namron Hospitality Group, the name behind Nest and other upscale properties in Tulum, NÜ opened in 2018 with Mexico City Chef Cesar Castañeda at the helm and has continued to forge a path in the same light as ARCA and Hartwood. Another jungle space along Tulum's popular beachfront drive, equally open as ARCA with candles, natural wood and copal, it is once greeted by a pair of hostesses that guests are seated, humidity partially abated by fans plus Cocktails focused on indigenous Spirits plus refreshing elements. Fusing Mayan heritage with Modern Mexican Cooking, both prices and patrons akin to other upscale Restaurants in Quintana Roo, most meals will begin with subtly sweet Bread from a Wood-burning oven, its Butter accented by Vanilla while traditional Vegetable Dip develops slowly with earth and smoke on the palate. Embedded in lush greenery, with music lightly playing, Appetizers on this night consisted of smooth Guacamole with tiny bits of Octopus and a bit too much Mint served alongside Vegan Ceviche offering a diversity of textures amidst bright acidity. Less finessed than ARCA, but not quite so rustic as what Chef Eric Werner created at Hartwood, Chiles stuffed with Pork arrived next to be eaten as Tacos, the Coriander again a bit heavy-handed while Duck beneath crispy Skin was near-perfect at the center of spicy Mole and Sesame Seeds. Sold on Rockfish by a server's description, medium-firm Flesh flaking delicately into an aromatic pool of Onions, Dessert proves less impressive than what one might expect of a Chef trained by Dulce Patria's Martha Ortiz, the crispy Crepe well-executed but Kiwi and Bitter Chocolate getting lost amidst richer-than-usual Edam.

Nü was probably my favorite restaurant in Tulum! Food, drinks, ambiance, music, and service were all AMAZING. The open kitchen gave the restaurant a nice flair. Didn't see that in the other restaurants I went to in Tulum. Each dish was well thought out and this restaurant truly cares about gastronomy. Such a beautiful experience.

Love the ambiance and being surrounded by trees. It is a bit further down the Tulum Beach and away from the major popular areas but definitely worth checking out. Since it's so further out, it was not crowded compared to the heart of Tulum Beach. The served us some chips with dip. Love the dip with the pumpkin seeds in. It is Smokey with a bit of a kick. The other sauces were great too. I ordered the beef stew for my main. The outside part of the meat was crispy and inside super tender, juicy and flavorful. It also had the carrot soup around where you dip the meat in. They also plated some carrots and sundries tomatoes underneath, which all paired beautifully with the beef. The green ceviche was amazing! It had sliced cucumbers on top and they added a bit of vinegar in the ceviche which enhanced the citrus flavor of the ceviche. The guacamole was also delicious. Served with fried octopus tentacle. They also serve you a side of chips to share. For dessert, I got the Marquesita, it was like a rolled cannoli but filled with cheese foam, on a bed of fresh kiwis and chocolate. Seriously outta this world, you can get the crunch of the rolled shell and the sweet and salty from the cheese foam and kiwi and chocolate. Such an interesting dessert. The server also gave my friend a free aperol spritz as a birthday drink and a free birthday cake. They sure know how to provide a great service!

Duck with mole

Lovely ambiance, decor, and food. However the lighting is too romantic when the staff needs to shine a flashlight to see your food or menu. The drinks are a spin on classics and some creatives. I tried the old west fashioned. I would recommend the bread that comes with the spread (warm, crispy on the outside and soft in middle). It's worth the calories! The mole on the duck was a nice twist. I don't think the fried corn balls added anything.

I made reservations here to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect. The ambiance, service and food were amazing!! I ordered the sea bass with roasted carrots and both were delicious.

SO happy we got to try this place for my birthday dinner. What a wonderful spot. Outdoors with a chill, beautiful vibe. Romantic setting. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the Tulum breeze and delicious food. Our server was excellent and started us off with drinks and fresh baked bread with 3 delicious spreads to choose from. I had the Naked & Fabulous which I really liked. We ordered the Octopus and the Fish in lemongrass broth. Both were exquisite. The fish just melts in your mouth and the broth with potato gave it the best flavor and texture. The octopus had this amazing spice, I just wish it had been a bit more tender. Then for dessert they surprised me with the marquesita even though we ordered the tres leches cake and I devoured the marquesita. It was so good. Also enjoyed the tres leches. All in all a fantastic experience. Would love to return the next time in Tulum.

Great food and ambiance. Unique cuisine that's reasonably priced. Drinks were really good. A must do for fine dining in Tulum.

Simple was simply delicious! Bad jokes aside, this place was located in a very touristy area filled…read morewith restaurants and boutique hotels, and the food and service were great! My friend and I split the Simple Fish Ceviche (peanuts, chia seeds, serrano peppers, red onions, etc.) and that was so fresh and flavorful! He got the tuna dish which was also great, but my black rice with octopus, calamari, and plantains was seriously A+. The black rice must have been made with squid ink or something but the total combination was a seriously savory seafood dish that was extremely filling and not like anything I've ever had before. I highly recommend getting this dish, but, be warned, it is EXTREMELY filling! After the ceviche and a passionfruit mojito (also delicious), I only had room for half of my entree. Another upside is that many of the staff can speak English. The only downside we had was a weird moment with the check. The receipt said "tip" in Spanish but then had a bolded "No tip included" at the bottom. We also tried paying with card because we didn't have any cash, and the first time around our waiter said the internet was down and he couldn't run the card through. We asked him to try again and it went through that second time. Also, this is a much pricier restaurant than other places in Tulum/Mexico with dishes mostly in the $20 range. Aside from that, I really recommend going to this place for the delicious food!

Pricing here is like at Tenadie's infamous place in Les Mis: "charge 'em for the lice, extra for…read morethe mice, 2% for looking in the mirror twice!" The food is already overpriced, even by Tulum tourist standards. Then adding the posted exchange rate, the cost unexpectedly increases 15%. And they charge an additional 5% for using a credit card. AND there is an automatic gratuity of 15% for any size party, which is insult added on injury for the painfully slow service. If you want outstanding Tulum seafood try EL CAMELLO JR on highway 307. That's where local fishermen sell their FRESH catch DAILY. El Camello is easy to find or reach by taxi, it gets a higher Yelp rating, and the service and prices are honest and friendly. Be aware that El Camello only accepts cash, a testament to its local authenticity and popularity. El Camello was recommended by our concierge when we asked for a seafood recommendation, and it was well worth the 10 min drive. You'll wait a lot longer than that for your food to be served at Simple. If you'd rather eat on the Tulum strip, then just a few yards down the road try Alma Tulum which has equally good food (including grilled seafood), an ocean view, great ambiance, and genuinely warm Mexican hospitality without abusive pricing for unsuspecting tourists.

It's…read morea Michelin guided restaurant and we were lucky to get a table on a Wednesday night since we didn't have a Rez. It's a very vibey spot with low lighting and a boho atmosphere. The highlight of the entire night was the baked fig appetizer! It was gooey and delicious! We also ordered the whole fish baked in the wood fire oven. The fish of the night was yellowtail. First time to ever eat a whole fish and wow was it good! For cocktails we got the Pilar, which had the lightest hint of hazelnut, and the Emerald whiskey cocktail. It was unique, but the Pilar was better. Service was very attentive and made great recommendations. Go check this place out and try and make a reservation for the weekends.

I've been eyeing Casa Banana every night we've been here and it felt so much more chill compared to all the surrounding party restaurants. It was the perfect stop for a reset. The vibe was top tier. So intimate and cozy, and it felt really nice sitting by the fire on such a chilly night. Our server Joaquin was so friendly and attentive and took great care of us. The octopus salad was so lovely, and the Argentinian chorizo was honestly one of the best chorizo I've had. Not very spicy, served with perfectly toasted focaccia and roasted vegetables. We also loved the pickled eggplant that came with it. They brought out complimentary toast and spread when we first arrived too which was so sweet. So happy we stopped here

So definitely the beet! We are sure tried the fish collar, which many people skip not realizing that this might be the most delicate and flavorful part of the fish. In fact I was tempted to just have two orders of this as my main dish. I had the Wildflower drink, which was light and delicate. We were able to come early at 6pm, only half an hour after they open, and by the time we left an hour later, to say they were full is an understatement. If you like to start the evening calm, as I do, I'd highly suggest coming early and then wandering the street. This also gives you a little time to talk to your wait staff. The server we had (I apologize, I have forgotten his name but I'll ask my husband and add it later) guided us through the menu and had excellent knowledge of each item. And, like everyone we've encountered here, was so gracious with his time and presence. I never feel rushed here as I do in some other tourist focused places. Gratuity is included, yet I'd say adding some is most deserved.

Menus are written on sandwich boards placed around the restaurant and the waiters come to your table and explain every menu item in detail. My waiter was very helpful with recommendations and answering any questions I had. I ordered the collar de pescado and the tostada de tartar for my apps, the fillete de robalo (sea bass) for a main, and the berenjena (roasted eggplant) for a side. The collar de pescado, the sea bass collar, was absolutely delicious. The fish was soft and tender, topped with a robust tomato based sauce. Super flavorful. 9/10. The tostada de tartar was also outstanding. The crisp tortilla paired perfectly with the soft fresh fish. The fish mixture was light, creamy, and a little spicy, topped with some greens for freshness and finished off with some lime juice for acidity and brightness. 10/10. The sea bass fillet was cooked perfectly, the fish was soft and juicy and had an incredible crispy skin that gave it a wonderful crunch. It was paired with a creamy sauce, spinach, and cauliflower. The different elements of the dish worked well together, with the vegetables cutting through the richness of the fish and the sauce adding flavor and a contrasting texture to the crispy fish skin. 9/10. The eggplant was good, however it was my least favorite dish. The eggplant was soft and flavorful on the inside, however the skin was a little bit tough. The mole it was paired with had a nice smoky flavor and I wish there had been more of it. 8/10. For dessert I got their only dessert, the honey cake. OH MY GOD THIS DESSERT WAS LIFE CHANGING. Probably one of if not the best dessert I've ever had. The cake was very dense, with the consistency of a blondie. The honey taste is subtle and there is also a slight smoky flavor that comes through from being cooked in their wood fire oven. The cake is topped with a chamomile whipped cream and salt. The whipped cream is so light and airy while still being incredibly creamy. The lightness of the whipped cream works perfectly with the richness of the cake. The salt on top really takes it up a notch. 11/10. My only complaints are that the wooden benches you sit on are very uncomfortable and it gets very smoky from the wood burning oven, and I was seated almost at the other end of the restaurant. It was also quite loud but the place is small and it was packed, nothing the restaurant can do about that. Prices are steep but well worth it in my opinion.
