This is my favorite restaurant in Joplin. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. This place was thoughtfully made to create a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend ordering whatever the special of the day is. No matter what they are serving you can't go wrong. Portions are large and the food is all freshly made to order. Save room for dessert because they have several delicious offerings there as well. The creme brulee is to die for. read more

My family came in for dinner last night, ordered spicy feta dip (incredible) I had the grilled gyros (also incredible) my wife and son had the KC Strip Steak ( terrible). both steaks very grisly and fatty. After reviewing the bill, a 4 dollar up charge for fries found that is not shown on the bill and was apparently "a glitch in their system" using the manager's own words. Honestly, just simple math uncovered the billing error. My advise, don't order KC Strip Steak and check your bill. Probably not the only billing glitch and being from KC, I know exactly what a KC Strip Steak is supposed to be, lean and thin. read more

We normally go here for lunch and the prices are surprisingly great. We always get the spicy feta dip - it's so good. By the time we finish the dip and the Greek side salad (the dressing is surprisingly good), I can't even eat any of whatever entree I get because it's so filling. It literally lasts me three meals. We like the chicken portabella penne and the chicken parmesan (it's not good reheated though and it's HUGE). The lasagna has a ton of veggies and is kind of like a ratatouille with some pasta. Also ginormous. I have gotten the Tour of Mythos and I'm not a big fan of their Greek food but their other stuff is really great. Service is always great, take out is also great! read more

My husband and I enjoy eating here for date nights. He'd previously gotten the KC strip, but shelled out a little more for the fillet our last visit and is already looking forward to ordering it again. I always get the crab encrusted salmon, it's delicious. The risotto with that is amazing. So flavorful. We split the tiramisu for dessert, but have also gotten the chocolate lava cake before. Both are yummy. The food here is great, the presentation is nice. We've always had pleasant experiences with staff. The atmosphere is relaxing, lights a little dimmed but we like it. read more

What a great evening we enjoyed at Mythos! First thing, I ordered a beer and it was brought to me in the most wonderful icy glass. Perfection! Second, the appetizers were delicious. Our group ordered the sampler plate and it couldn't have been better. The salads were crisp and tasty. The main course was to die for. Mythos was very clean and the hostess was Very professional. Our wait staff was outstanding. The ambiance of the place felt like I was in a big city. Thank you for a great night. I had the best experience with Mythos and highly recommend them for both their food and atmosphere. We were visiting from out of town for a wedding and Mythos was recommended to me by our hotel for a little after-wedding dinner. We had a private room for our party of 16 and they worked with me to make a special menu for our dinner party. The food was spectacular. Great location for a special date night or special event and everyone was so helpful and easy to work with. Our guests couldn't decide which was better, the prime rib, Chilean sea bass, or the honey lime chicken. read more

If you enjoy steak, seafood, Greek and Mediterranean food, you must try Mythos! My wife and I eat there often. I start with the tomato soup and usually The Tour of Mythos. They have amazing salads, sea bass, steak, lamb ect. I usually have a Nero or two to drink. Ask to be seated in Damon's section. He is the best server in town. I have never had Greek food so i can't compare this to much, but the food was very good and extremely fresh. Their greek salad is the best i have had and had fresh feta cheese. I had the garden lasagna which had a large variety of vegetables and i would definitely recommend if you have not had a meatless lasagna before. The atmosphere is quite posh with instrumental music playing and it being fairly quiet. Good place to get a hearty lunch. read more

Definitely the place to eat at Exit 8 on I-44 in Joplin. We were traveling and looking for a good place for lunch and so glad we found Mythos. I had the TOUR, a huge plate of Greek specialties plus a cup of corn jalapeño chowder. It was all great. My husband loved the mousaka and salad. We could not eat all of our meal but he still opted for strawberry shortcake and ate half of it. Truly a very nice lunch as well as incredibly reasonable. read more

We stopped here for dinner and had one appetizer between us and split our main course. We had the tour of Mythos which included things like spanakopita, tiropita, gyro meat Dolmades. They have a version for two and a version for four. By itself it was almost enough for a meal. We then split an entrée of Moussaka. It was excellent as well. The service is fantastic and the steak will literally melt in your mouth. The flaming cheese is also fantastic. If you're looking for some place a little special, this is great! Nice place. Staff was good. Tableside flambé cheese was very popular with our fellow diners. I thought menu was more Greek influenced instead of straight up Greek. I try to dine at Mythos every time I visit daughter and family. The food is excellent: from the lamb chops, walnut chicken, tilapia, sea bass or gyros. Came by this place a year ago and really enjoyed it. Had a salad and a stack of grilled veggies with a fancy name. I came back knowing it was a safe bet for the area and found the menu cut down to half the items or less, omitting all vegetarian friendly items except appetizers, salads and noodles with marinara. Oh boy. I asked the server about it and he told me the fucking special was mostly vegan. It was beef with cheese, some noodles and perhaps a few asparagus stalks. I was like "Are you fucking shitting me?" and he was like "..." as he walked off. We made a clean break with Mythos at that point. They keep two stars because I didn't bother to explain dietary restrictions to a hapless server and it was pretty okay a year ago. Might have got a good meal outta the deal, just not feeling like rolling the dice. If you don't have food allergy problems or aren't that picky there's nothing bad to say about this joint. Other reviewers neglected to mention: best steaks in town, great wine selection, and great seafood. Service is almost always exceptional. Order the kaseri saganaki (flambeed cheese appetizer) and shout "opa" when the flames leap up. Horiatiki salad is awesome - no lettuce, this Greek salad is based on big, steak-like tomatoes. Need I mention the desserts are exceptional - the falling souffle is delicious. Expensive by Joplin standards, but compared to similar eateries in other cities, Mythos is very reasonably priced. read more

My fiance and I went here for our two year anniversary a couple of days ago and will definitely be back soon. Our appetizer was the seared ahi tuna which was melt in our mouth delicious. We then had the traditional Greek salad which had amazing flavor. My fiance had the horseradish and crab crusted sea bass with a parmesan and asparagus risotto. I had the grilled prawns with black bean and corn ragu. Both of our entries were of high quality and full of incredible tastes and textures. In Joplin for a wedding, we traveled there from Denver. Since we were there for our sons wedding, we needed to find a great restaurant to accommodate 28 guests. George worked with my wife on all the details, and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised! The food... it was outstanding! The steaks where cooked to perfection, the appetizers were plentiful and delicious! The Tiramisu was incredible! The staff was friendly and very helpful, all guest commented on how good the food was! if I lived in Joplin, or anywhere close, this would be a monthly dining spot for me and my wife! Good, not great. Service was prompt and the atmosphere on the inside was more inviting than the oddity of the exterior. It's true they don't have hummus, and while it's technically not Greek, most people expect it - plus it's a good appetizer option that's easy to do well. I had the gyro and a side salad. My wife and I went there on a recommendation as we wanted an upscale dinner while in Carthage....we were not disappointed! The place has a great ambience- dark with great music( could be turned down a notch). Our waiter-Jordan was fantastic. We had never had Greek and he was extremely helpful and patient. We ordered the sampler appetizer and it was delicious. The wine Jordan suggested was also spot on. The entrees were oh so good. I had the ozark dble bone-in porkchops with red cabbage and garlic mashed potatoes and my wife had the pepper grilled ribeye with portabella mushrooms. DELICIOUS AND COOKED TO PERFECTION! For desert we had the death by chocolate and the cheescake and those were equally great too. Being from St. Louis we were able to even meet the chef-Bo- who was also from the STL. Our dinner started off with wonderful warm rolls and olive oil/basalmic vinegar dipping sauce. I had the Mousaka Platter. It was extremely good, but so large I took half of it home. My fiance had the Mediterranean Chicken. The chicken was moist and the vegetables were not overcooked. We took half of it home too. It was our birthdays so we were treated to free desserts of our choice. We will definitely go back to try other items. read more
