When I arrived, Tina was my massage therapist, and she did a fabulous job. I have severe lower back and neck pain from old injuries, so I requested medium pressure. Tina was spot on--I would describe the pressure as medium to strong, exactly what I needed. She also discovered a significant amount of tension at the base of my skull and applied firm pressure to both sides. That was an area I had never really considered, but it turned out to be a major source of radiating pain and headaches for me. Tina's technique was excellent, and her tempo and attention to pressure were just right. The facility was clean, peaceful, and quiet, with soft, soothing music playing in the background. I had a great experience and would highly recommend Garden Wellness Massage, especially if you're looking for a skilled therapist who really pays attention to where your body is holding tension.

I'm not walking with a walker yet, but my body's become rather tense because of some physical hobbies I took up this year. So why not get a massage? Luckily, Gardens Wellness Spa has a "Sports Massage" which combines different types with massages with stretches for the arms, chest, and legs. It was nice that I was able to get an appointment so quickly when I went to the website. It took less than an hour from booking the appointment to being on the table. Parking was ample, and the front staff was pleasant and welcoming. I was escorted to a dim room and given instructions to prepare myself before the therapist comes in. My massage therapist came in, introduced herself, and got to business. By the end of the session, I felt slightly better. The stiffness and ache in my back was definitely still present. But I wasn't expecting a full recovery after a 60 minute sessions so I didn't mind. I appreciated that she really tried using pressure on the back by literally using her entire body weight, because most of the massage therapists I get are significantly lighter than me, so I don't really feel much when they try to get the knots out. That being said, it would be nice to have an option online for a male therapist as I could have used more pressure on my back. The portion where you can book with certain staff members are only labeled as 'Therapist' for all the options. I understand from a privacy-focused perspective why they'd do that, but I never know who I' getting when I book with them. Decent service, would come back again if needed.

Thank you Letter to "Nancy and Dr Z from Body Therapy Center"…read more Dear Dr. Z and Nancy Thank you Doc for your wonderful Therapy Center and therapy team Thank you Doc for being open on weekends Thank you Doc for the flexibility with my needy schedule Thank you for being open during COVID But most of all, Thank you for scheduling me with Nancy during COVID Thank you Body Therapy Center Where does one start with a review after all these years at Body Therapy Center? A thirty plus year journey for me to find wellness has been found. Thank you Nancy From the start I felt I actually found a therapist who may help me, and during COVID of all times. It appears it took a pandemic for me to find the right therapist! I honestly did not believe I would find success on this journey at my age, but I now believe I have a positive future, and I firmly believe healing can happen as long as you do the work, and find someone who knows how to work with you and more importantly, find ALL your root causes as Nancy has done with me. God really works in mysterious ways. Amazing stuff for me. Nancy figured out I was a mess pretty quick so we began weekly sessions, and to this day, there has never been a session that is the same. Each week something new was found and worked on, eventually each year something new was introduced to help us continue progress with my wellness journey; Theragun, to a Bamboo Stick AKA Sheila (I hate Sheila. Shh), and at that point, I happily became a case study for her sister, Ms Hillary who is a future Physical Therapist in training. That was very rewarding to actually have a licensed massage therapist and a future physical therapist in training, assisting you on your wellness journey. We had a few sessions which provided me deeper understanding as to just how bad my condition is. Thank you Doc for allowing this too. So Grateful. In my thirty plus year journey for wellness, I have been thru five chiropractic programs (each a minimum of 3-6 months), two acupuncture programs (one program for 5 years), two orthopedic surgeons (no surgery), one physical therapy program, numerous medications, countless massage therapists and alternative eastern treatments; all satisfied the issues in the moment, but did not even come close to figuring me out, or even trying to figure me out. Timing is strange, but one thing for sure, Nancy is a healer. My wellness journey is far from over, but the ever difficult mystery to find a therapy center with the best massage therapist to support my mission has now been solved as we are looking forward to "maintenance" massages very soon.

He explained everything in detail...took about 10 minutes to set me up for a successful float. I had my own locked private lounge which consisted of a shower, changing area and float chamber. I was impressed with the cleanliness and appreciated the provided towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and two different kinds of ear plugs. After entering the chamber of darkness and began floating, I did not feel claustrophobic at all, which was my concern. I think it helped knowing I was in a 7ft by 8ft chamber instead of the pod I initially expected. I floated for 60 minutes. It was like a scheduled nap without the guilt of doing anything. My only job was to just relax and be present in this moment. After the awkwardness of this new experience and being able to be completely still, I stopped feeling the water and air. It felt like my consciousness was suspended in a cloud. Only when I purposely moved was when I felt my body again. Surprisingly, I fell asleep and even more surprisingly, I learned I snore because my snoring woke myself up. Embarrassingly, my snoring was the only thing in that chamber with me. I wasn't quite sure what I thought of my first float experience. However, it wasn't until I went about the rest of my day that I started feeling the benefits of my float. I felt very chill, relaxed and centered, I had a sense of zen with me for a few days. Because of how I felt after, I am definitely going to return. It was like a great massage, but for your brain or consciousness.

I've been in constant pain for 1.5 years, and had gone through 15 PT sessions elsewhere that actually made me feel worse. After all these things, certain movements still caused stabbing pain on my shoulders, and my movements are so restricted that I need daily help reaching for things. I was not able to sleep without my pain in my shoulder either, which impacted my quality of life. Dr. Alison Wu has worked on me since March. She is so approachable, and she manually works on different areas of my body to help my shoulder heal. She does not ignore my pain tolerance during treatment sessions, and explains what she is doing and what I should feel as she works. Her exercises and recommendations are so helpful to maintain the progress at home. In June, I finally started sleeping through the night. I continue to sleep without pain since then, which is so very important. Each week, my range of movement continue to improve, and most importantly, the movements are not accompanied by restrictive pain. Last week, I was able to finally move myself off the couch without needing help, and I was not in pain. Edmar is amazing -- friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and just genuinely great at what he does. He actually listens to what your body needs instead of giving you the same routine every time. And to set expectations, this is not your typical spa massage. Edmar uses his own myotherapy techniques to really target the muscles, fascia, and areas of restriction. It can be intense when he's working through a stubborn area, but the relief afterward is what keeps me coming back. I walked in today with insanely tight traps, neck/shoulder tension, and TMJ pain. The TMJ part still blows my mind. He did some kind of work around my knee that I have absolutely no idea how it works, but somehow it immediately relieved my jaw pain. I don't understand the magic, but I'm not questioning it! By the time I left, I felt noticeably lighter and looser -- like I had finally released a ton of tension I'd been carrying around. I do CrossFit, boxing, and aerial, so my body takes a beating. For me, professional, targeted bodywork is maintenance. Having someone who can actually identify what's tight and work on the muscles and fascia properly makes a huge difference. Is it the cheapest massage? No. But it's worth it. And while Tustin isn't exactly around the corner for me, I'm happy to make the drive because I know I'm going to leave feeling better. If you're active, constantly tight, dealing with stubborn knots, neck/shoulder tension, or TMJ issues, I highly recommend Edmar.
