Everyone here has helped me find both immediate and lasting relief from the pain through their immense knowledge, care, and thorough approaches. Each masseuse has different strengths but they all share an experimental approach where they seek to work with you and your unique body to help you get relief. They are professional and truly care about their clients. On top of that, I have gotten wonderful suggestions and ideas for ways to find relief in between sessions. Everyone is always kind before, during, and after the sessions. They always listen if I need more or less pressure or an area avoided. I have had a tough 3 years navigating an overwhelming increase with debilitating chronic pain and chronic fatigue, while also recovering from two laparoscopies due to endometriosis and pelvic pain. I thought I had tried it all (supplements, acupuncture, pelvic floor and posture therapies, yoga, meditation, various exercise programs, etc). I was recommended to try lymphatic drainage massage, and after reading the amazing reviews for Angelz Spa, I thought I'd give it a try. First off, Angelica is an angel! She is so kind and patient, and truly educated me on what my lymphatic system is, why the lymphatic system can stop working effectively, and how to keep it healthy. She has a wealth of knowledge!! Angelica introduced me to compression garments and dry brushing and suggested a gentle walking routine. Like a good student, I followed my homework, and after the first couple of sessions I felt like a new person. Over the last two months of weekly sessions, I've truly had too many WINS to count. Here are the main ones: -My swelling is significantly reduced -I am more aware of my body, and what causes my swelling. I am able to avoid triggers and/or use my compression garments to control swelling -My WBC count is the highest it has ever been and in normal range for the first time! -I have not had the GI issues that I had prior to starting MLD (which I'm SO thankful for!) -While I can't say my chronic pain and fatigue are gone, they are significantly less debilitating and my flare-ups do not last as long and aren't as frequent Thank you, Angelica!! I have been able to get my life back in many ways. If you are struggling with fibromyalgia/chronic pain, fatigue, swelling, or immune issues and in southern California, book a session with Angelica! You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my experience and nether did my boyfriend. This time, the movements did not feel intentionally and I was surprised that the lady performing my massage did not realized I had tension in my soleus muscle as I had experienced a really bad cramp the night before. I had to inform her, and she kinda laughed it off and I found that very unprofessional. I was also very disappointed the lady performing the massage on my boyfriend kept talking to my massage therapist. She would say something in a different language and my massage therapist would laugh. That made me and my partner EXTREMELY uncomfortable as we felt they were talking about us. We are both in a vulnerable positions as we are unclothed and expect professionalism from those performing a service. Additionally, his massage therapist kept leaving the room when clients would walk in. She also kept stopping to talk to someone outside the door, which again is very unprofessional. We both did 90 minute sessions and honestly I did not feel any different or even relaxed as I felt like we were being judged. As we went out to pay, she charged us $180 which is the rate for a 90 minute session for two people. When she asked for a tip I said $20 and she asked "each" I said no, $10 each $20 total. And she almost seemed offended and asked "90 minutes, you want to tip $10 each" I said yes, she said something in a different language and the other person laughed. Once again, that made me uncomfortable. At that point I just wanted to leave and be done. I am very disappointed with the level of service and unprofessionalism we experienced. I do not think we will be coming back.

What has kept me coming back is how well he listens and how much he tailors each session to what I need that day. He asks where it hurts, what it feels like, and how I'm feeling that day. He remembers what we've worked on before, but if I've overdone it in the garden, strained something during a workout, etc. he quickly adjusts treatment. Elbert also has an intuitive way of figuring out where a problem is actually coming from, even when it isn't where the pain shows up. I've experienced this regularly through his myofascial work as well as with a lymphatic drainage treatment I had when I was dealing with swelling. Red light therapy is something he incorporates too. My back issues are now much more manageable, with less frequent flareups that don't last as long as they used to - life changing after living with high levels of pain for several years!
