Kuzu is highly trained and experienced in shiatsu, acupuncture, and other Eastern medicine techniques. His practice focuses on wellness, not just pampering and relaxation, and he is genuinely interested in his patients' health and well-being. The office is located in an office park with a large parking lot and the waiting room is nicely decorated with comfortable seating. The treatment room is small but very clean and cozy. On my first visit, Kuzu took the time to discuss my medical history and current complaints. He had let me know in advance that we would be spending about 10 min on the consultation before the massage so I knew what to expect. For anyone who is unfamiliar with shiatsu, the massage is done on top of your clothes so you don't need to get undressed. However, I was still able to feel the massage and Kuzu made sure the pressure wasn't too strong. He massaged my entire body, including head, arms, legs, fingers, and toes but made sure to address my problem areas. The massage released the tension in my muscles and significantly relieved my pain. An abhyanga is a full body massage where they use warm scented oil that your skin absorbs. I truly felt like I was able to release all tension and allow myself to receive and enjoy! A few months ago, my friend gifted me a 90 minute Abhyanga Massage ($145 value) and it took me nearly 4 months to finally make my way here. I called to make my reservation with Tina. She was very professional and informative. I provided the gift certificate # and Tina was able to help me apply the gift certificate seamlessly. Since it was my first time experiencing this type of service/massage, Tina also gave me a friendly reminder that this service uses a lot of healing oils for the massage, so it is recommended that I wore clothes that I wouldn't mind oil residue on. Also I was emailed a reservation confirmation with the need to know information for the service. For anyone not familiar with an Abhyanga Massage, this is a full body massage with a generous amount of warm herbal oils that are abundant in antioxidants and adaptogens. This is meant to promote relaxation and rejuvenation. On the day of my service I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out my first time customer forms. Tina was there that day and she offered me water or hot tea. She asked if I needed to use the restroom before my service. Just FYI - the restrooms are disconnected from their suite. For my Abhyanga Massage, I was with Tanaz. What has kept me coming back is how well he listens and how much he tailors each session to what I need that day. He asks where it hurts, what it feels like, and how I'm feeling that day. He remembers what we've worked on before, but if I've overdone it in the garden, strained something during a workout, etc. he quickly adjusts treatment. Elbert also has an intuitive way of figuring out where a problem is actually coming from, even when it isn't where the pain shows up. I've experienced this regularly through his myofascial work as well as with a lymphatic drainage treatment I had when I was dealing with swelling. Red light therapy is something he incorporates too. My back issues are now much more manageable, with less frequent flareups that don't last as long as they used to - life changing after living with high levels of pain for several years!
