After…read morehaving a very frustrating experience at another Raymond Opticians location, I called Yonkers because I urgently needed help getting my contact lens prescription. Rich truly went above and beyond to help me. He took the time to make sure I received the correct prescription and that I had everything I needed in time. He was incredibly patient, kind, professional and extremely thorough throughout the entire process. What could have continued to be a very stressful and frustrating situation was completely turned around because of Rich. He listened to my concerns, treated me with respect and genuinely seemed to care about helping me resolve the issue. This is exactly what excellent customer service should look like. Rich is an absolute asset to Raymond Opticians, and I cannot thank him enough for his kindness and for going out of his way to help me. Highly recommend the Yonkers location.

They claimed the exam takes 25 minutes, which has not been my experience elsewhere. It is clear they care more about hitting the exit door than helping a new patient who was ready to buy a nice pair of frames. They tried to reschedule me for tomorrow, but I declined. I will be taking my business to an office that actually values its customers.

I get my eye exam here every year, and they do a good job. I usually wear contacts and haven't…read moreupdated my glasses in years. Recently though, I've had some health issues and need to wear glasses more. I used my glasses Rx that I had gotten done at Bronxville Vision Care to get glasses at Warby Parker online to make my life easier given my health and not expose myself to potential germs. I called WP to fix my glasses, and they were less than helpful. So I took my new WP glasses to John and he fixed the WP lenses and even fitted the glasses to me immediately as a courtesy just to give me a break and help me out. I could not believe his generosity and kindness.

In the past, I had positive experiences here, but my latest visit has compelled me to reconsider…read morereturning. Initially, it took an unacceptable 4-5 weeks for my glasses to be ready. After 3 phone calls, I happened to be passing by and decided to stop in the store. Miraculously, my glasses were ready. (So did it really take that long, I will never know). I tried them on, but I could not see out of one lens at all. John assured me they would send the glasses back for correction. To my frustration, it took an additional three weeks to receive them again. (Or did they, who really knows?) When I finally got the glasses back, I noticed significant distortion while looking at my phone and computer. I go back to the store, and he tells me I just need time to adjust to the progressive lenses. As someone who has used progressives for years, I know how they should perform, and it was clear there was an issue. He asked me to give it a week, which I reluctantly agreed to. (Whatever, I am growing tired of this at this point.) The very next day, I realized my lenses are not transition. I called again to confirm this. When he got on the phone, he informed me that my lenses were clear. I said yes, I can see that. I asked for clarification because I was confident I had paid for transitions. (He never verified) Instead, he says it would be an easy fix and promised to order the new lenses. However, it has now been over a month, and summer is over with no updates on my transition lenses. While I appreciate the staff's "politeness", their commitment to customer service and follow-through is lacking. I am extremely disappointed. With that said, I will never return. I am officially done.

Honestly the best place I've gone to get glasses! The people are so nice and the doctor is fabulousread more

I am absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated at Raymond Opticians in New Rochelle,…read moreparticularly by an employee named Jessica. Jessica is completely unprofessional, rude and arrogant. My problems with Jessica started back in December when I went to pick up my glasses. She came out appearing visibly frazzled, rushed and upset. While handling my glasses in that state and handing them to me, she BROKE them. She then gave me another pair and basically said, "Here, just take these." About a month later, I returned and asked a very reasonable question: What happened to the original glasses that were broken? Instead of simply explaining what happened, Jessica immediately became extremely defensive. Since that incident, I have noticed a complete change in the way she treats me whenever I need assistance. She has been rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Today was the final straw. I requested my contact lens prescription because I wanted to purchase my contacts through Costco. The prescription that was sent to me was incomplete and was missing necessary information, including the diameter and other information needed to fill it. I called the office, explained that information was missing and was told they would send the corrected prescription right away. They didn't. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, I called back because I still had not received it. While I was simply trying to get this resolved, my calls kept getting disconnected. Eventually Jessica got on the phone. Instead of professionally asking how she could help me, she began speaking to me in what I perceived as an extremely sarcastic and mocking manner. She said things like, "What's the matter, Larissa? Are you upset? What's going on?" and told me I was yelling. The way she was speaking to me felt like she was mocking me and making fun of the fact that I was frustrated. I explained that I was in a loud environment and was not intentionally yelling. Rather than simply resolving the issue, she continued with the attitude and then said to me, "DO YOU WANT YOUR PRESCRIPTION OR NOT?" She then HUNG UP ON ME. I could not believe that an employee would speak to a customer that way over something as simple as requesting a complete copy of a prescription. I have also since heard from others that Jessica has a reputation for being rude to customers. I cannot personally speak to anyone else's experience, but based on the way she has repeatedly treated me, hearing that certainly did not surprise me. I genuinely do not understand how an employee can treat customers in such a rude, sarcastic, mocking and dismissive manner and continue to represent a business. This wasn't one bad interaction. My issues with her began when my glasses were broken in December, continued when she became defensive after I asked what happened to them, and culminated today with her mocking me, asking, "Do you want your prescription or not?" and HANGING UP ON ME. Completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I have contacted Raymond Opticians management directly because I believe they need to know how customers are being treated at their New Rochelle location. I absolutely cannot recommend this location.

Wow. Never thought I would say that about an eye exam and…read moreeyeglass shopping experience but allow me to explain. This lovely shop/office was suggested through my insurance so I made an appointment. I'd been having vision issues in my left eye for a few months and had been wearing readers from a high-end online store that I thought were pretty fashionable. As soon as I walked into Eyes on Hudson, I realized that this was going to be a VERY SPECIAL experience. The shop itself is beautiful. Gorgeous glasses of all types line the shelves as well as accessories you simply do not see anywhere else. Sweet Tina at the front desk whisked me into my first examining room with a thorough question and answer session that prepared me for my best ever (and I'm NOT YOUNG) eye exam with Dr. Rogerson. Thorough does not even begin to describe the process by which she diagnosed my astigmatism in one eye that had gone unnoticed at previous appointments with other doctors! As if that wasn't enough, it was time to select a pair of glasses. Peering at all of the gorgeous options, I asked the very stylish optician Justin for help. From across the room he appears with a stunning pair of Hunter green frames that I would have never selected on my own-- but look PERFECT on me and I'm not a vain person! How did he do that? I'm never going anywhere else for glasses EVER! When I went to pick up my frames, I also was fitted for contact lenses which was another awesome experience. Thank you Santiago for your assistance in selecting the coral chain--you were right--the yellow was too sallow! The entire team at Eyes on Hudson is just EPIC. Don't change one thing. And thanks everyone!

(I brought my own frames.) When I received the glasses and I couldn't see out of them, I found out from a subsequent visit to my orthoptist and another optician that both pair of glasses we made incorrectly and that the prescription in one pair was way off. When I contacted Eyes on Hudson about the issues, my concerns were met with exasperation and an overall unwillingness to work with me. I have since gone to another optician who specializes in difficult prescriptions. Perhaps Eyes on Hudson is very good for general glasses. But I would not recommend the business if one has any special needs.
