To whom it may concern, Oh, where to start? Ive been visiting this place of business since the early 2000s (i believe) - I've always had a rather pleasent experience. Most recently however, it might be safe to say that i have fallen victim to their most productive, effective and genuinely kind staff member, Lauren. She somehow managed to exceed all expectactions for a place i already held dearly in my heart. I recommend this place to anyone in need of a new pair of spectacles. Spectacles however shouldnt be necessary to clearly see the level of attention in Lauren's impeccable costumer care - because, just wow, really! To end things off on even more positive note, and if there were a scale of 1-10 on this matter, i would definitely go with a solid 23.7. Hands down! Very yours truly, JC read more

I am absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated at Raymond Opticians in New Rochelle, particularly by an employee named Jessica. Jessica is completely unprofessional, rude and arrogant. My problems with Jessica started back in December when I went to pick up my glasses. She came out appearing visibly frazzled, rushed and upset. While handling my glasses in that state and handing them to me, she BROKE them. She then gave me another pair and basically said, "Here, just take these." About a month later, I returned and asked a very reasonable question: What happened to the original glasses that were broken? Instead of simply explaining what happened, Jessica immediately became extremely defensive. Since that incident, I have noticed a complete change in the way she treats me whenever I need assistance. She has been rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Today was the final straw. I requested my contact lens prescription because I wanted to purchase my contacts through Costco. The prescription that was sent to me was incomplete and was missing necessary information, including the diameter and other information needed to fill it. I called the office, explained that information was missing and was told they would send the corrected prescription right away. They didn't. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, I called back because I still had not received it. While I was simply trying to get this resolved, my calls kept getting disconnected. Eventually Jessica got on the phone. Instead of professionally asking how she could help me, she began speaking to me in what I perceived as an extremely sarcastic and mocking manner. She said things like, "What's the matter, Larissa? Are you upset? What's going on?" and told me I was yelling. The way she was speaking to me felt like she was mocking me and making fun of the fact that I was frustrated. I explained that I was in a loud environment and was not intentionally yelling. Rather than simply resolving the issue, she continued with the attitude and then said to me, "DO YOU WANT YOUR PRESCRIPTION OR NOT?" She then HUNG UP ON ME. I could not believe that an employee would speak to a customer that way over something as simple as requesting a complete copy of a prescription. I have also since heard from others that Jessica has a reputation for being rude to customers. I cannot personally speak to anyone else's experience, but based on the way she has repeatedly treated me, hearing that certainly did not surprise me. I genuinely do not understand how an employee can treat customers in such a rude, sarcastic, mocking and dismissive manner and continue to represent a business. This wasn't one bad interaction. My issues with her began when my glasses were broken in December, continued when she became defensive after I asked what happened to them, and culminated today with her mocking me, asking, "Do you want your prescription or not?" and HANGING UP ON ME. Completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I have contacted Raymond Opticians management directly because I believe they need to know how customers are being treated at their New Rochelle location. I had a complicate sunglass purchase which Jessica Rodriguez was amazingly patient and advised me. Her customer support was excellent and incredibly helpful. It makes a difference when retailers have true interest and concern for customers. I also witnessed others getting attention with genuine care while in the store. read more

I was very impressed with the customer service and the Optometrist. Everyone was efficient, polite and sociable. I can't remember ever talking about the housing market with my Optometrist! The waiting area and inventory was spotless- they have a great selection of frames and services. Will definitely be coming back! read more

I have been going to this "Raymond Opticians" office ever since I was switched over to VSP in 2008. Dr. Collins is one of the nicest Optometrists I have been to. I have a high level of astigmatism (which we always joke about) which makes it more difficult to find suitable contact lenses. However, she always seems to find a good solution for a decent price. The staff is friendly and helpful. Since I have been going here I can only recall one incident with my eye wear (my glasses where delayed because the staff forgot to order them). Aside from that it, my purchasing experience has been good. They have a decent selection of frames (for those of us who choose not to go with the ugly frames that the insurance companies cover) including Ray Ban, D&G, ...etc. If you have VSP as your eye care provider I would recommend Dr. Collins. read more

Dr. Collins is the best! Genuinely concerned and extremely knowledgeable. Always goes way above the call of duty. She once rang my doorbell to hand deliver a prescription for my neighbor who was having trouble getting her medication! The staff is great too, and lots of cool frames. I highly recommend. read more

Worst experience with the shop manager Lauren who has the worst customer service i've seen in my life. I've worked in PR and know what i'm talking about. I ordered my daughter's glasses and it took 6 weeks to be ready while they told me it should twke 2 weeks. I called 5 times and every time they were supposed to call back and didn't. Instead of recognizing the mistake she kept arguing with me and being very rude knowing that on this same day the glasses were already in yonkers shop (i asked when pocked up) and just needed to be worked (cut and put on the glasses). Instead of telling me they're ready she kept arguing on the phone and aked me not to come to the store because i wont get anything since the glasses are not there and was cutting my conversation. I did go there the next day and thanks to the other salesperson in the New Rochelle store that followed up with insurance and knew the glasses were already received, and knows how to do her job perfectly well, i was able to pick them up directly from Yonkers store and they did the work right away. read more

I received an eye exam from Dr. Collins at the New Rochelle location in August and was very impressed with her thoroughness, knowledge, and service. Compared to other optomestrists I've seen, Dr. Collins had a great personality and provided recommendations that were tailored to my needs. The optician, Leilani, was also great and very helpful. Their exam prices are reasonable, and they offer a great selection of frames. Definitely recommended! read more

It is really nice to be treated like a special customer from the first time you call or walk through the door. That is what they do it is not just about making a sale and taking your money. They have a sincerity about them which builds trust and a relationship; once you go there you will make then your eye care professionals (friends)! To start, Dr. Collins is AWESOME and the only reason that I continue to be seen there. I will keep seeing her, but will no longer order contacts through this location. I will get a written prescription and order them through another location. The reason? I have had numerous problems filling my contact prescriptions. This time, I was told my contacts would be available of pick-up in 5 days. I pre-paid for a year's supply. We received no call after 5 days. After 10 days, my husband called and was told my contacts were in. He went in today (15 days after my appointment) to pick up my order. There was only a trial set of contacts ordered, as an "honest mistake" as per the store manager. This means that no one actually checked the day my husband called or they would have realized the error then and would have had time to correct the error. Sadly, this is the THIRD time in 4 years that my contacts were ordered incorrectly. One year, they ordered the wrong prescription and I waited for them to order the correct ones. Another year, they forgot to order them at all and only ordered them after I called after a week later to find out why I was not called to pick them up. read more

I was in New Rochelle for a wedding, and my contact ripped. I almost always carry spare contacts when I travel, but this time I did not. The staff at Raymond Opticians were happy to help when I walked in on a Saturday and gave me a complimentary pair of contacts when I told them my prescription. They were wonderful and saved my weekend! I would highly recommend this office to anyone in New Rochelle! read more

Dr Collins was very nice and professional. I had waited 3 weeks for a call to come up my glasses to which I never got. When I called I was told the girl who usually calls was not around. I though this was a lame excuse and if I hadn't called my glasses would still be still sitting there. The woman I dealt with when I went to pick up my glasses was very unpleasant and really didn't seem to care about why I waited such a long time for a call back. This is my 2nd dealing with Raymond Opticians and it hasn't been pleasant one bit in 2 different locations. It's safe to say I will not be going back. read more

I was a walk in to get my DMV vision test done. It was almost closing time on a Saturday afternoon and it turned out I need to get a full vision exam. They squeezed me in, stayed late, were super nice and helpful. I will definitely be going back there for all my vision care from here on out. Thanks! read more
