That said, I was at my appointment for a very long time -- including the waiting time prior and slow speed of the whole process, about two hours. I made an appointment for 1550. This company is quite sneaky about the way the appointments are done, so that will be your first caution. I made, what I thought was an in-person appointment, with an additional scan. Not so much. What they actually put me in for, was a remote visit with a mandatory scan (which costs an additional $44). I showed up 15 min early to my appointment. When I walked in, there were 2 women behind the counter and 1 other customer in the waiting area. I waited 30 min past my appointment time before getting up and leaving. No one apologized for the wait time. No one explained why there was a wait time to begin with (Hello! That's why we make appointments). Lastly, no one seemed surprised in the least that I was leaving. All huge red flags. To sum up: The place was filthy and dated. The staff is unapologetic about ANY of the negative you will experience. You will be charged extra money for something you don't want, but the franchise insists on forcing on you. Not really sure why there wasn't any distinc between the two types of exams when I booked the appointment. First, I will say I love Dr. Morrison!! He gets 10 stars!! Very thorough and attentive - on every visit. The eye glass side of the office is significantly lacking. Last year and AGAIN THIS YEAR, they forgot to order my trail lenses so I'm having to wait an extended time for the samples. I came in on a different day than my exam day to select glasses and was passed over several times. They asked if I signed in at the desk. Ummm...no....there is no sign saying you needed to do this. Plus I had asked an associate what I needed to do to get service and was told to have a seat and the next tech would take me...which didn't happen. They work their chart patients first. When she noticed she had skipped me, she told the other tech to go ahead with the chart guy and I would be next. Nope. I'm not waiting even longer!! I had already been in there over 45 minutes!! Let me first start by saying my entire family really likes Dr. Morrison. We have seen him 2 times now and is very thorough and informative. It is a real shame that he is associating himself with this establishment. I have has several run ins where I have been told 10 day to 2 weeks for my order only to be told an excuse as to why they are not complete. Frames being out of stock, loosing frames I have brought in for lenses, being told the order was never processed (which was an order for my daughter, my husband, my mother-in-law, and myself) over $1200 with insurance. we have been going to this office for the past several years. It seems that once Brandy left as the manager, the place has gone to crap. Good for her for getting out when she could!! I am now stuck because I like the Doctor, but can not stand all of the BS that goes along with dealing with this place. Turns out it is REALLY hard to even get an appointment with Dr. Morrison anyway. They encourage you to book online, but when you choose Dr. Morrison, there is not one day or time slot available for the time frame it goes out to. They even moved a manager from the Valley ave. store over here and that did not seem to help matters. The last time I was in the store it was so nasty, I would not sit or let my daughter sit down due to the chairs looking so filthy. Looks like the floor has not had attention in several years and don't get me started on the bathroom...YIKES!! CAUTION! The problem? "Video-assisted" eye health exam. Learn what it means before you book! I tried to book by phone but could never get through. I finally gave up and made an appt. online. I read the line about paying extra for the retina exam but thought it was a partial telehealth appt. and that a doctor would come in at the end. I've had "zoom appointments" before. I had no problem with them. It was clear in advance and there were no problems. This was not clear at all. It turned out the "Refractory" test was administered by video. (It is seems the main test where you are asked: "Which one is clearer? This one or that one?" Etc.) Stupidly, I still thought an optometrist would come in. At the very end, a doctor came on the screen remotely. He seemed to be in an RV somewhere. He asked me questions. I replied, "That should be in my records." He then looked at the papers he had been sent. I have had rosacea of the eye for years. I had a number of questions about it. How an optometrist is supposed to be able to assess it remotely is beyond me. I have gone to this eye office location since we moved here 20 years ago. It was first Allegany Optical and at some point, MyEyeDr. took over. For years, I have been pleased and sent numerous compliments to the management. It would never have occurred to me they would have changed to this. Their system seems in favor of MyEyeDr., not in favor of the patient. My husband and I had an appointment on December 16 at 10:00 a.m. After sitting for exactly three hours we were seen by the doctor. He was very kind and knowledgeable but had no explanation for the extensive wait. After picking out our frames we were told the promise date to get our new glasses would be January 6. After calling four times to check on th status of my glasses I was finally told the truth on January 12. Our glasses order was never processed!! This is the worst business I have ever dealt with in my life. I first scheduled an appointment online to get updated glasses and contacts prescriptions. The appointment I selected was with a specific doctor, and his picture was online so I saw what he looked like. I then went in for my appointment when I was given paperwork that explained the appointment would be virtual. They assured me it would be accurate (if not better than an in-person appointment), so I went with it since I already scheduled out the appointment and was running low on my year supply of contacts. The doctor was not even the one I had chosen online. When I was looking through the machine to read the letters, I told them the angle of the machine caused half the screen to be cut off from my view, and that I needed to turn or just move my eyes and not look straight ahead. They acted like I was incorrect on the angle I was seeing from, and I kept insisting I couldn't see and needed it moved. When they eventually moved the machine it still wasn't enough, and I told them I couldn't see the full screen. Throughout my appointment, I explained at least twice that I'm very happy with the brand and type of contacts I currently wear, and that I'd like to keep wearing them (Acuvue Oasys with HydraLuxe for astigmatism - dailies). I also I asked them twice if a virtual appointment could accurately detect the astigmatism I have in both eyes - they assured me it could. After the appointment, I paid, and they told me they would order the trial contacts that would arrive in a week for pick-up (I showed them a pair of my current contacts to ensure they would be ordered correctly). Fast forward a week and a half, and I get a call that they came in. At every eye appointment in the past, I had been given at least 4-5 pairs so I could try them for more than a single day. So I then went in to pick them up, and they handed me a ziploc with one contact for each eye, both were different types and brands, and NEITHER was correct. One of them was not even a daily. I told them I specified multiples times which contact brand and type I needed before leaving the appointment. They tried to say that those were correct and that they were dailies - only one was a daily and it was the wrong type. When I pulled out a pair of my current contacts I keep in my bag, they then tried to say that they must have discontinued that type (not true as I just ended up ordering on 1800 contacts due to this issue). I insisted that was incorrect, and either way they weren't the right ones regardless of being dailies or not. So after trying to check with multiple people, they finally said they'd have to reorder them. I called back later in the day to tell them not to order the correct trials, as I would be changing eye doctors and would not go in to pick them up either way. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY no matter how badly you need a shorter notice eye appointment. I'm paying more in the long run for more of a hassle, as I'm now having to wait for another eye appointment with a doctor that is booked further out I should've listened to the man that was leaving when I came in for my appointment who said, "That place is terrible!" So now MyEyeDr expects someone to take time from their day to go back into their office to ask for a piece of paper. I had an appointment at 430 today. I waited until about 530 to see the doctor, which really isn't that bad of a wait. I was unaware of the fact that I'd be seeing a doctor virtually and that this would cost me extra money due to a required exam. This was quite a shock, and throughout the whole process, I was never once told it was a virtual appointment until the doctor was on the large screen in front of me. The reason I am giving them 4 stars is the staff. I saw some people get a little aggravated about the wait time, and they handled it very professionally. I really appreciated Ruth. She helped me pick out my frames and figure out what my insurance was covering and wasn't covering. She also shared some laughs with me, and we talked about my upcoming wedding. I also really loved the nice lady who was in the room with me when the doctor was on the screen. She was incredibly nice, and I wish I could remember her name. She gave me some advice on how to care for my dry eye, and she answered my questions as though she was very informed. This wonderful woman also explained to me how there is a shortage of eye doctors in the area, which makes sense. This is why they are using virtual doctors. The ladies at the front desk were also very helpful. Anyway, I think we should all just be thankful that we can still even get appointments. They are doing everything they can, though I do wish I had been informed of the virtual appointment. read more

My fiancé went in to have her contacts changed. The whole thing took over 2 hours, most of which was her sitting in the waiting room. When she arrived they gave her the wrong person's paperwork to sign. When she finally got called in, the staff were cold and not communicative. The doctor attended over zoom and had an in person technician doing what they asked. My fiancé told them she liked her previous brand and would like to continue with that. Without giving an explanation to her, they gave her a new brand. When she tried them on, she told them they were painful and her eye was getting red. They told her that it was normal and her eye is just adjusting. She had to take them out when she left because they were so painful. The contacts cost double the price of her old ones. All in all, it was a terrible experience. We don't recommend this place for anyone. We only tried it because it was one of the few places in town that accepts her insurance. read more

I come here because I like the doctor and the fact that he takes his time with patients to make sure the prescription is correct. However, the customer service at this place from the rest of the staff is terrible! When my mom came in for her appointment, the lady who did the precheck forgot to give her chart to the doctor, so he didn't even know we here and she wasn't seen until after 5pm for her 3pm appointment. And as though that isn't bad enough, if you buy glasses from this place, you'll never get them or they will arrive damaged. I purchased a pair of new lenses to fitted into a pair of frames I wanted to reuse and a new pair of sunglasses. Well, I got the sunglasses in about two weeks, but the frames arrived cracked. I was told that a replacement will be sent but it's at the shipper's discretion. Well, a month later and I'm still waiting which means I paid over $500 for a pair of broken sunglasses for which I will never be reimbursed for. Then, there are the lenses I purchased to be fitted into a pair of frames I already own. I handed the frames over, paid the invoice and was told it would be about two weeks and that I would get a phone call when they came in. Two and a half weeks later, I received no phone call, so I called the office. The lady who answered immediately put me on hold. About 15 minutes later, another lady answered the phone, thinking I was someone else. I told her that I wasn't that person, but that I was calling to check on the status of my glasses. She said she had a customer right then and placed me back on hold. Another 30 minutes went by and a third woman answered the phone, and instead of asking me how she could help me, she asked me to please hold. I had been on hold for 45 minutes and she wanted me to continue to hold! I told her that I had been on hold for 45 minutes, and instead of apologizing, she asked what I wanted in a bored tone. So I told her that I wanted to check on the status of my glasses. She told me they were processing. When I asked what that meant or if there was a timetable on when I would get them, she said she would have a manager look into it and call me back, confirmed my number, and hung up. Well, no one called me back, so five days later I drove down there to find out what happened to my glasses. One of the ladies there looked it up and realized that my lenses had already come in and had been there for several days, meaning they were probably there when I called the first time, but they can't find my frames. They asked who took my order and I described the lady, to which I was told that she wouldn't be in until the next day to tell them what she did with my frames, and I would receive a phone call when she came in the next day. Well, about five days have gone by and no one has called me. So, I'm going to have to drive down there again to try and get some answers! I live about 25 miles away. So, recap: Whenever you call, the staff puts you on hold and forgets about you. They do not answer inquiries on the phone. I purchased a pair of sunglasses from them only to have them arrive broken. I received no reimbursement for that. I brought in a pair of frames from an older pair of glasses I had to be fitted with my new prescription. The have the lenses, but lost my frames. So, I have a pair of lenses that I cannot use because the staff lost the frames that the lenses were going to be fitted into. Add to that that I have not been reimbursed for the lenses or compensated for the frames that they lost. I now have to go somewhere else to buy glasses after spending almost $1000 here to not have glasses. I'm never buying glasses from here again. I will come here to see the doctor for my annual exam, but I am not buying glasses here. The staff here have no idea how to run an office, much less care about providing good customer service. They are constantly running around like chickens with their heads cut off and put anyone who calls on hold for 45+ minutes. They never call you about the status of your glasses, even when hey have your number on file. No one here seems to know what they are doing. The people working in the office are nice & seem to be dealing with the fall-out of no manager for over 2 months, people quitting, & I shouldn't have heard anything about that waiting my turn. I cannot recommend because the office is dirty, doors are dirty from dirty hands, carpets haven't been vacuumed, carpets were worn, there were rips and holes, waiting chairs are rather gross fabric with clumps of stuff on them. The location is on disrepair. I never made it to an exam room and I feel fortunate for that. I wear contacts and I was not feeling this place was clean enough to be handling contacts.It gave worse than movie free clinic vibes. The computer system went down and apparently they do eye exams through a computer. I feel very fortunate that my appointment was canceled. I feel sorry for those who go here and work here. I left work early, time away is no pay for me. It progressively continued to get worse, even AFTER my trip to urgent care, I called this location and the GM Jim helped me create a walk in appointment (even though they were booked months out) he was very understanding and helped me take care of insurance and paperwork quickly. MyEyeDr, located on Pleasant Valley Avenue is very unprofessional as well as not pleasant to communicate with! My son, who is on disability, is only allowed to go to MyEyeDr or one other location on his insurance plan so his choices are limited. I called MyEyeDr in mid-March and made an appointment for July 17. Late afternoon on July 15 I was called to tell me the doctor was out of town and my son would have to reschedule. The earliest availability for his Medicaid insurance would be in late September, another ten weeks out. Lots of sorries were given. I stated that my son needed glasses immediately as his were lost and the manager, Chris, came on the line and made an appointment for July 27. Last week I again was called by a person who stated that the records were messed up and my son was not entered in the system for the appointment. I stated that the manager made the appointment and how would she know to call me if he were not in the system. No response other than a boatload of sorries again. I was offered the option of paying full price and they could see him quickly. I think it is a travesty that they basically do not want to take his insurance as I was told another time in the past that MyEyeDr only takes a few Medicare patients a month. So the bottom line is that I will have to pay out of my pocket to get him glasses. Not at MyEyeDr however. Shame on them and hope all prospective customers will look at their poor ratings and service. I do not normally write these reviews but will here. I am furious with the horrible service I have received. I had an eye appointment in early December. At the time of my appointment I paid for contacts. Here it is mid January and I still don't have my contacts. They told me " they were one the way" and they still aren't here. I ordered from 1800 contacts because I needed contacts/ here in two days! I have called on four separate days and they don't answer their phone and they don't return voicemails. But they have my money so I guess they aren't concerned. I live a little over an hour away so I guess I will have to make a special trip to get an answer. I paid this from a HSA account or I would have disputed the charge, but there is no way to do this on a HSA account. This after I already made one additional trip to their office because my trials were done and my contacts weren't received. I wear dailies, but they gave me monthly's saying I would definately have my contact order in the next week. . Nope! No contacts. No answering the phone. No return phone call. Do Not Go Here! After waiting 18 days for my glasses ( which were "expedited") I went in today to get them after being notified via SMS that they were in. Horrible service, long wait, glasses were wrong, apparently the prescription was wrong. Being told that it just takes time to get used to glasses doesnt change the fact that I shouldnt have to tilt my head back 45 degrees to be able to read something. With the new glasses, I also cannot see distances any longer, because they added a correction to my lenses to "fix" my vision. I fixed my distance vision by taking off the blurry lenses. They did offer me a complimentary re-exam but it would still be virtual, they do not offer non-video-game evaluations. Having cancelled my glasses, they refunded a portion of the original charges but kept the exam fee for the faulty exam. Hopefully that will go towards training, either customer training or training on how to conduct eye exams. Maybe not shining high intensity lights multiple times into each eye prior to the exam would have yielded an accurate response? The customers on both sides of me were also less than pleased, no wonder the staff has such a poor attitude towards customers. I am waiting to hear back how long it will tkae for my benefits to be released so I can get glasses and actually see, not something this location seems to be concerned with. AVOID! read more

Horrific eye doctor. Dr. Morrison has no shame working here. How disappointing. We were prepared to see an actual doctor when in actuality that was not the case. We arrived on time with my daughter taking the lead to check-in. They insisted I need to be there even though we filled out paperwork in advance. I then signed a series of documents. When I went to the counter they threw up another document saying I didn't sign one. With barely a look I signed. Literally, two and a half to three hours later my daughter was seen by a..."tele doctor." Mind you, we had an appointment we made weeks in advance. Upon entering the exam room. No preamble about the visit. No information that we were seeing a tele doctor in advance or during. Only afterward for additional payment for "agreeing" to the video appointment did they acknowledge we were ween by video and would need to pay $40 additional for that "service." Remember we waited hours to be seen and this was seen as an added service?? We didn't question it initially since we just wanted to get on with it. It had already been two and a half to three hours. It was not until afterward that we were told we signed a document agreeing to $40 video eye exam. When I questioned the additional charge they flagged and waved a signed document in front of me daring me to question it when they did that after I signed all the paperwork they gave me and then nonchalantly handed me the "other" unsigned-video health agreement" to sign. Of course, I could have disagreed and should have. I paid, then asked for the contact lens prescription but was told we needed to make a follow-up exam because they were giving us trial lenses. We left after many choice words with the receptionist. I called back and said the trial contacts are fine and we want the prescription. They then informed me I needed to return for another follow-up exam. A video one at that. These are not our first contact lenses. I feel like I have no recourse. I got a letter from My Eye Dr CEO asking for survey soon after our initial visit. I filled it out and explained our beef. Not heard from anyone. Bottom line. Avoid this place! The staff is cranky. The place is woefully filthy. I mean the carpet has runs and snags in it. But even with that, it had so much dirt and debris on the floor you can tell they just do not care. I have seen Dr. Barry Morrison in Martinsburg and I have to say I don't know how he sleeps at night working for this outfit. You, sir, are better than that! Should be an option for zero stars not only did I book this online that shows I was booking with an actual dr turns out to be a virtual appointment that was a total joke and a scam paying 44 dollars to do a picture of your eyes that is not covered by insurance which never have I had to pay for a contact eye exam but since the virtual dr put my glasses prescription on the paper I had a 15 dollar copay for a comprehensive eye exam to have both which I explained that I was only there for contacts then come out to finish only having to wait another 45 mins because virtual dr didn't put my contact lens prescription on the paper so had to go back in just to have her not show up on video and waste my time then Ruth the lady who tries to sell you on going with them for glasses and contacts was completely rude after I said I was intrested in what they had to offer or their so called "price match" the office has torn carpets all over you would think this building was from the 1940's on the inside absolutely horrible experience and will not be back for the scam again read more
