First, I had an eye exam with Dr. Hong. My first encounter was with the receptionist, and she was as pleasant as it gets. Dr. Hong was great. He explained everything that he was doing, and he was enthusiastic about his work. I left there feeling confident in Dr. Hong's examination. In my typical fashion, I waited until the last day of the year to take advantage of my insurance. I would encourage anyone else not to delay and to bring a friend and get the pupils dilated... I'm not sure what that does, but what can it hurt... except the eyes for a few minutes? Anywho, after the visit and Dr. Hong's diagnosis (I started with glasses last year and anticipate getting a pair every year henceforth), I went to Lenscrafters next door.
So, last year, when I was living in Ashburn, VA, I had a fine experience with Lenscrafters. I visited the store and eye doctor in Sterling, and they were great. However, this experience, both with Dr. Hong and the young lady at Lenscrafters, and everyone else for that matter, reminded me of why I moved to Winchester. The young lady was very kind and helped me pick out a pair of frames and then explained how the lenses worked. The lens specialist (sorry, I don't know what his title is) spent a few minutes with me and explained the lenses and the insurance plan. So, I don't have anything else to say except that I was very pleased with this visit, and I don't plan on waiting until the last day of 2015 to repeat it. read more
