I did not realize until I went to My Eye Doctor what a good optometry exam is really like. The doctors I went to in the past compared to this office on Glenwood Avenue were not really giving me a good, in-depth evaluation. You may have to spend a little more time and money but as someone who is always reading and on a PC it is worth it. Ask for Greg Hager. He really knows his stuff! i cannot believe how much better I can see! Thank you! read more

I went here for glasses only. I did not get an exam. So I am only speaking to my experience of buying glasses. The place is pretty busy all the time so be patient. Every time I've gone, quite a few, the staff were amazing- friendly and helpful. I purchased glasses here when I went to another eye place and their price was over $300 with my insurance. I wanted to see if I could get a better price and I did. I could get 2 pair for that price. The person who helped choose was patient and friendly. I have a hard time making decisions and the staff were really helpful. I purchased a pair and I love them. I had to go back a few times for adjustments and they were great. My glasses were bent and they fixed them. Every time I go, I am welcomed and my problem is resolved. Definitely a solid place. read more

I scheduled an eye exam but it wasn't until I arrived that the Tech told me there weren't any Dr's in office and I would need to see the Dr. virtually. I wish I'd left but I'd already taken off work. Unfortunately, I came down with viral conjunctivitis/pink eye a week later. Never had it previously but highly suspect I got it here. read more

Absolutely no respect for your time. Process designed to maximize up sales. Long delay for exam after showing up at scheduled exam. Long 45 min wait for tele doc to link in. 60 min wait for sales specialist to see you and push you to buy frames and lenses before you can checkout even if you only came in for regular exam. Never coming back. Operation is like an unethical used car dealership. 0 star if it was an option. read more

Today was my first visit. This was an appointment I made to be seen by Dr. Glover. I found Dr. Glover on Forbes Health. I took a great effort in completing my search for appointing black doctors for all things where my health is concerned including my annual eye exams. I initially had a late May appointment. I was called and offered an earlier appointment. The office was clean and presentable. I was greeted but I could barely hear the agent at the desk. I do feel a few pleasantries and welcomes were more engaging to "other" patients upon entering more so than myself. I was seated a few minutes before being called on. Dr. Glover was nice and seemed receptive. I felt confident that Dr. Glover's feedback on my exam was aligned with things I'd heard before. I wasted my time on daily contacts that I ended up not being able to purchase. I gave the samples back to the office and ordered my normal 30-day supply for the year. I have never heard of almost a $750 out-of-pocket expense for contacts (with VSP insurance) which is decent eye coverage insurance in my experience. A great learning experience for me as well. A forewarning of the astronomical amount dailies would cost would have been helpful before matching me with these. Overall the time spent away from work was lengthy for this visit. Hopefully, my 30-day 12-month supply of contacts will be in soon. I assume these are shipped. I feel that info wasn't clear. I will have to call. I was given a free pair of sunglasses on this visit. read more

Good job. Greg doctors. I was very happy with my eye dr. I would recommend this firm.

I'm new to the area and was in need of an annual eye exam after struggling with night driving. I was fortunate to schedule a same day appointment with Dr. Mcclarnon on a Saturday afternoon. Unheard of ! The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. They checked me in as soon as I stepped foot in the door and had all of my insurance details. Stephen called me in the exam room before I could even get comfortable. Stephen was extremely personable and entertaining. He listened and walked me through my vision exam while being hilarious. I met with Dr. Mcclarnon immediately after and he also listened attentively to my concerns and was kind enough to send me home with eye drop samples for my dry eyes. After meeting with the doctor, Megan discussed my insurance coverage and helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses and RX sunglasses. She listened and understood the assignment. I found the prices extremely reasonable in comparison to the other local opticals. Megan was kind enough to refer me to their other locations where my daughter's insurance is accepted. I was extremely impressed by the outstanding customer service and kindness I received today. I appreciate how the staff values your time and gets you in and out. Every question was answered and every concern prioritized. My glasses arrived in less than one week and I'm very happy. The gave a complimentary lens cloth and glass cleaner. Make this location your eye doctor. It's conveniently located within the briar creek shopping center for some retail therapy after your appointment. read more

I have been a patient of Kelly Eye Center for many years. It started when I worked as a Surgical Technologist at Blue Ridge Surgery Center with Dr Kelly assisting him in cataract surgery. That's when I decided to start going to his clinic. The staff there, at both offices, are very nice and knowledgeable. It's been wonderful to be a part of the Kelly Eye family. read more

Got very prompt service after being referred from my primary. Easy check-in with helpful and friendly staff. Was seen quickly by the doctor who clearly explained my issues and answered all my questions, and without appearing rushed which I really appreciated. Then walked with me out to the lobby to schedule the follow up with staff there. It was a really excellent experience. read more

This group took over my previous group and since it's a big chain, the feeling of personal service wanes a bit. I had to go through a couple of their optometrists due to some issues with their "bedside manner" (just types at the keyboard and never looks at you making you feel like a number on the chart, etc). Although Dr Corbett is a very business-like person, she answers your questions and does a good job evaluating any issues you have with your sight. She's a little in the side of impatient but she does a good job correcting your sight and getting your questions answered. The front desk is very friendly and seems to operate efficiently as the wait time was minimal. The person going through the pressure test was also efficient and friendly. Overall I'd recommend them if you can match well with one of the optometrists. If you find you don't like the one assigned you, ask for a different one for your next visit and they will accommodate you. See my updated review, and try Brier Creek Vision Care for a better experience. read more

MyEyeDr - Optometrists Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

Very nice people, great care. Wasn't aware I'd have to carve out 2 hours for my scheduled appointment though.

none of the machines used for my eye exam were wiped before use. I just feel like that's gross

This office facility is miraculous and the staff is very pleasant, well manner. I was seen by Dr D. Glover, very well knowledge and took his time to explain everything to me that was going on for me to understand, he's a doctor who care about his patients 100%. I would recommend D. D. Glover to anyone he's great....! Thank you, read more

Love Dr. Donna! She's very thorough in her examination me. I've been seeing her for years. Now the current wait staff ‍ I ordered glasses that I waited more than a month for. The lab messed up the first time. Glasses came back as sunglasses when all I wanted was a tint. I called them. Glasses were in and they never called. Consequently, I cancelled the order. In fear that something else would have been wrong. read more

No problem with the Doctor. After my annual exam I was told I did not have any insurance money toward glasses and copay was $40. I contacted my new insurance company and was told MyEyeDr filed the claim as a medical issue. I contacted them and they said they would look into it. Weeks later I called again and no one knew anything. I called my insurance company back and they said I needed to contact my eye dr again. I did but asked to speak to the manager who corrected the over charge and refund $10 of the $40 I paid. So now they still owed me $150 towards glasses. So frustrated with them I'm not comfortable going back. read more

Front desk staff not very customer service oriented. I purchased computer glasses and when I went into pick them up the lady just handed me my glasses in a bag and when I asked can I try them on with a technician to make sure they fit properly and see if they need any adjustments she said "we don't do that anymore unless you made an appointment". She said you just need to wear them at home and if they don't feel right then make an appointment to come back and have them adjusted. What a waste of my time because of course I had to go back and have them adjusted. read more

I've been going to this location for a few years now and always have a good experience. My recent visit was superb, so I thought I should review. The schedulers, front staff, technicians and doctor are all very professional. I usually see Doctor Dolan; she is very easy to talk to and uses the time of the appointment efficiently. I think a lot of clients come in on work breaks or lunch, due to the location, and staff are mindful of the time without rushing. I don't feel pressure to purchase things not covered on my insurance, and still I am kept informed of any specials or diagnostics that may be offered. During this visit Tom helped explain my insurance coverage and bill - he very simply explained the options (which I should've known anyway) and when I mentioned I might be interested in glasses, his no pressure approach made me respect MyEyeDr (maybe they don't pressure their people to sell sell sell) and when I do fill my glasses prescription, I will come back. They carry a good selection of affordable, and more high end frames. The office is clean, comfortable and parking, even within the Brier Creek shopping center, is fair. read more

This Eye Dr location is one of the largest and has a great selection of eyeglasses! I have purchased some from this location in the past and had a great experience. Thee staff was very helpful from the front desk to the office manager - Alexis and Zoe. They took their time with us and offered suggestions based on our selections. I appreciate the text message you receive when your glasses are ready to be picked up. The only thing is the wait time being extremely long when you may just be coming in to pick up your glasses. It would be great if there was one or two specific technicians/office staff for just this step. read more

I am delighted to have an opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Denise Tran and the friendly knowledgeable staff at MyEyeDr. Cissy was an absolute pleasure to work with and she gave me excellent advice in choosing the proper frames. It was an excellent experience and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend the Brier Creek office. The entire office was helpful, efficient, and courteous. They always go above and beyond. read more

I have been to MyEyeDr for a few years, and when Eye Care Associates before that. They have always provided adequate optometric care for glasses. The facility is nice and staff are friendly. However, I always feel like I am more in a car salesroom than a healthcare facility. The optometrists are professional and friendly - no problem there. It bothers me that the staff are always wanting me to pay the extra $40 for retinal images, when they really are not needed yearly when you are young and without issues or risk factors. I have been to an ophthalmologist office, where they never ask to take retinal photos. They simply do a proper eye exam with an otoscope and document that it is normal. I'm quite sure an optometrist can do an otoscope exam as part of the regular visit. The photograph is clearly a money-making gimmick. I wish they would stop pushing it on me every single time I visit. Also- after you get your prescription, you get shuttled into their sales tactic system, where they pressure you to buy glasses or contacts from their store (preferably both). If you choose glasses, they will pressure you to get coatings and special lenses, without really considering whether you need it, since insurance will often pay for it. The frame prices are of course jacked up way higher than what you can pay online - I guess that is OK given the higher costs they incur for rent, opticians, etc. The company makes their opticians are more like sales people. If you need contacts, they will also pressure you to get more than you need. I don't blame any store for trying to increase sales and make more money, but it just doesn't feel like a doctors office. read more

Today was my first visit to My Eye Dr @ Brier Creek. I was Dr. Darryl Glover. He was AMAZING!! He was very kind, personable, and he was able to explain things in an easy to understand way. Dr. Glover communicated key points of our visit to Daniel (works in eyeglass area) so that he was able to effectively assist me in picking out my perfect frames. Daniel even went the extra mile and found an eyeglass case that match my handbag. I am BEYOND pleased with the customer service and attention to detail of the associates of this location. I will DEFINITELY be coming back for ALL of my eye care needs!!! read more

It gets 1 star for Dr. Gabr and that's it. The front desk as well as check out people were rude and completely disrespectful. The check out person I interacted with grumbled at any insurance request I had and barely answered any questions. As a result, my insurance information was filed incorrectly!! She also rudely insisted I buy a year subscription to contacts no matter how many times I said I do not need them or want them. She was horrible to interact with. I will not be going back here, that's for sure. read more

If you're thinking "my eye doctor is right here! It'll be convenient" or "I could buy my glasses online but I want customer service help to try them on"...then you were just like me. So let me tell you DO NOT GO TO MY EYE DOC- Brier creek. The appointment: 1/5- I had to wait 15 min to be rushed through my eye exam. I saw the doctor for maybe 10 min. I did not feel comfortable with the prescription he gave me but before I could say anything, I was pushed into the eye glass store and had 10 pairs shoved on me. Buying glasses: first they force an overpriced year subscription on contacts, no matter how many times I said "no thanks" they pushed "are you sure??" I finally found a pair I liked and bought them. Picking glasses up: They lost my glasses "at the lab" and I had to wait an extra 2 WEEKS for them to be ready. I show up to pick them up and they are the wrong glasses...I express that I'm upset and they "want to make it right" by compensating half price. I return in 2 weeks for the correct pair and I am asked to pay full price. The is NO doctor patient "bedside" manner. The employees are more concerned with their commission than helping a customer, they make mistakes, go back on promises, miscommunicate and LIE. I promise, you will be disappointed if you decide to give them your business. read more

Do not order glasses from here!!! I had specific frames I wanted and shopped around the local places to find them here. We have a much closer location to us, but were told that location didn't have the frames I was looking for but this one did. Turns out they didn't actually have the frames, they were ordering them from overseas and just neglected to tell us. That was the first thing I was really frustrated about because we drove way out of our way to order them from a location that was having them shipped anyways. There was no reason I couldn't have gone to a the local one since they're a chain and having to order anyways. The second thing I'm frustrated about is that it's been almost 5 weeks and my frames still aren't here and there is no date for when I should receive them! We were told to expect them weeks ago, so where are they?? And why does no one know when I should get them?? My current pair of glasses is 10 years old. I'm trying to switch from mainly wearing contacts to glasses and right now my contacts are running very low because I'm having to use them for weeks past what I expected based on what I was told when I ordered my new pair. Third is the customer service. When we were in the store the woman we worked with was thorough and helpful, though it did take significantly longer than it should have. However, since placing the order the customer service has been ATROCIOUS! It's near impossible to get a hold of anyone. You call and explain the problem and are told that someone else needs to speak with you and will call you back. Except no one ever calls back! And this has happened over and over again. The woman answering the phone has an attitude and is rude. It's ridiculous for a company to not notify you when your order is taking longer than expected, to have no explanation, to not have answers to where your glasses are or when they'll eventually arrive, to never call back customers when they say they will, and to not even bother to make things right when you complain. So unprofessional, so frustrating. Never again will I do business with these jerks. read more

The absolute worst glasses experience of my life. I have been waiting since early November for my glasses to come in. All I get is an apology and "try again tomorrow." I came here because I moved to Brier Creek, but I will definitely not be returning. read more

I've been coming here for years. It used to be Eye Care Associates and something before that.. To be honest, the last couple of times I have been disappointed. I'm only getting a routine checkup, but I end up spending way too much time after the initial exam waiting to see the doctor. A couple of years ago I even stepped out of the exam room looking for someone to see if I have been forgotten. After waiting nearly an hour, you sort of wonder.... It was a little better last year, but this year was the difference to between night and day. I'm on time, and so are they. There's been a change with my insurance, and after some searching around they figure it out, while I'm doing my initial testing. Dr. Try was thorough and professional, I think she even laughed at one of my many jokes. :) My eyes have changed - and I am finally in need of some glasses. I certainly felt like she covered everything very well. I need good eyesight in my profession, so... she didn't miss a thing. After, I met with Andraéa who was just awesome. I didn't need anything expensive, and she was able to offer me some really good frames. We went through the options with the lenses too, and settled on exactly what I needed. No pressure. No sales pitch. After a total of just over an hour I was done. Initial evaluation, thorough exam and consultation, frame selection, sizing, paying. Painless. Nice job. I think there have been some changes here, and it's all for the best. See you next year. read more

The first bad experience was the front desk scheduled me for a routine exam despite me having to come back for specialized testing. When I pointed that out, I couldn't see the specialized Dr. that day or anytime soon because she was schedule to go on vacation. I had moved my work schedule to make this appointment. No apology was made. The office manager said that she's call me to schedule the appointment once she returned and that never happened. I had to call to schedule the new appt almost a month later. Eye Care associates was much better. On the 2nd appointment, I scheduled a week prior. Did the exam, everything wen well. During checkout I was told that my insurance wasn't going to pay. Instead of paying $20 copay, they told me I owed $700 for the visit and they expected payment before leaving. When I did leave, the employee chased me down in the parking lot saying she would have to call her manager. I was so embarrassed. I would've never taken the appointment if I knew it was going to be $700. I would've schedule it for the new year. Now, I'm stuck with a bill. Every office checks your insurance prior to your appointment. Why wasn't it done in this instance? read more

Very friendly staff. Very attentive. Very little wait time.

My visit to myeyedr at the Brier Creek Shopping Center. The doctor was very thorough and explained many options for my contacts. I need help close and far and didn't think there was a possibility for my wearing contacts. The people in the glasses area worked very hard to find me the perfect pair. Now I don't only wear my contacts, but my great new glasses too! Definitely try them out if you haven't already! read more

I ordered contacts from this store. They charged me $496 and told me the contacts would arrive in two to three months. After I had not received them four months later, I asked the store about them and they said they have no record of the order. I checked with my bank and the money had been transferred to them. I told the store this and they have done nothing. read more

You can't even get into the place during office hours. The employee will let you stand outside and let you wait a very long time. Only 2 persons were inside the show room. She would not even look up as if you carried a pest or are Covid-19 yourself. Maybe they should be clear and just stay closed. Was desperate for service and went to Lenscrafters inside the Crabtree Mall off Glennwood Ave in Raleigh and conducted my expensive purchase there. At Lenscrafters they are very clean and careful with rules to outsmart Covid-19. I felt very safe and treated like a customer, not like a pest. read more

Incredibly rude and hidden charges to boot! I went there for my annual eye appointment, basically to get a new contact prescription. The doctor was nice as can be and was very professional. The front office staff sucked. They surprised billed me for $25 for a contact fitting fee. I told them I know how to wear a contact. I've been wearing this exact model for years. I didn't ask for this, don't charge me for it. They wouldn't take off the charge. I was pissed but my wife reminded me that our insurance covered it. This year for our eye appointment, we trudge out there in rush hour to Briar Creek from Chapel Hill. We arrived literally 10 mins late for our appointment. They refused to see my wife. Right before I dropped my wife off there, she was defending the doctor and the store. Needless to say, I was deliciously pleased when they screwed her over like they screwed me. We're going elsewhere with our business. Customer service sucks there. You've got lots of choices in Optometrists, don't choose this place. You've been warned. read more

Went in to get an eye exam and buy a year's worth of contacts. The process was ridiculous. Was there for an hour and a half to get 20 minutes worth of exam time. They would come in the room for 5 minutes at a time then leave for 20 minutes. Inane. Just take the 20 minutes all at once. Halfway through the optometrist brought me some sample contacts. Was not the right prescription. Was still blurry. He leaves for another 20 minutes, comes back and says we're all finished. Didn't check to see if the prescription was right. I received the box in the mail a few weeks later and sure enough, wrong prescription. This place is a total waste of time. read more

I'm very pleased with my experience at My Eye Dr. My husband and I were able to book back to back appointments on a Saturday morning, which saved us time. The staff from the front desk, to the sales counter were all polite and helpful. We were actually seen by Dr. Davis, who we learned is a visiting doctor. Dr. Davis is quick, thorough and personable. I would be happy if she somehow ended up at this location permanently. My only quip is that I am a first time contact lens wearer and I don't feel that I was advised on "everything you need to know about contacts" as well as I should have been. Otherwise, I definitely plan to return next year. I love that it's conveniently located in Brier Creek. read more

The receptionists are very warm and pleasant -- one even offered me water or hot coffee! There's ample room to sit, since it's a large building (biggest optometrist office I've ever been to). Kudos for the comfy couch chairs (not a fan of the typical, rigid waiting room chair)! It wasn't *too* busy on a Saturday morning -- most people were over in the glasses area, picking out and discussing frames. My wait was no longer than 10 minutes. The exam was quick, and the staff wasn't *too* pushy for me to pay for extra services. I admire the associate who told me that an additional contact exam would be an extra $39 -- not many offices are honest. Dr. Beatty was very pleasant, and his exam was quick -- double thumbs up. Really awesome that they are open on Saturdays -- especially for all the 9-to-5'ers. Also, it's nice to get free samples of "fancy" contact solution and "expensive" eye drops -- though they did come with coupons (thanks, Dr). There's ample parking in the shopping center, but *please* be careful crossing the street. I had a white SUV try to run a stop sign and hit me while I walked across the street -- even though there was 4-way stop. You'd be surprised at how many people run them or fail to yield to these stop signs in Brier Creek (especially during the holidays). read more

I had a great experience here. I chose this place 1. because it was right in Brier Creek, and 2. because they accepted my vision insurance. I walked in on a Wednesday morning and was called back after about ten minutes in the waiting room. Everything moved very fast and the Doctor was awesome. He was so nice, and best of all he was quick and got me in and out of there as fast as possible. I got a really great price for a year's supply of contacts and the appointment. No complaints and I will definitely be back for my next prescription. read more

Best opticians I've ever had. They take my insurance, they are close, fast, efficient, fairly economical, professional, and provide a pleasant environment. I had to go back a few days later to have the doctor re-evaluate the prescription in my left eye for contacts and even then I had to trade out ordered boxes of contacts to get my complex percripton order just right. I know this was an administrative hassle for the doctor, her assistant, and for the front desk crew. Yet they never showed any sign of irritation and were professional, courteous, and prompt in changing out my order -- even taking care of the re-order for me so I could just pick the swapped out lenses up at the office. I'm impressed. read more
