If were able to put a negative number of stars, I would do so! The 1st time I went here to have some eyeglasses repaired I was told it would take a few days. After 31/2 weeks I had not heard anything and when I returned the same snobby woman who took care of me was again vey uninformative. Since I had gotten my last pair of glasses at one of the locations in Cary, NC and because they were close by, I thought let's give them another chance. The examination went well and I was informed my exam was covered by my insurance, however the retina pictures were not and it cost me $40.00....no big deal. I typically purchase two pair of glasses, one are my progressives and another for distance only. Due to the high cost of their frames I asked if they could use my old frames since they were only about a year old and was told that would be fine. when it came to pricing my primary pair of glasses they hit me with a $550.00 price. I balked and asked why they were so much. I got a dog & pony story from one person and then another from the same snobby girl at the counter who B.S.'d me they couldn't contact my insurance. Then how did you find out my exam was free? I am a retired senior citizen on a fixed income and I believe I was being ripped off. I paid my $44.00 dollar fee for additional exam, took my prescription and left. It's very sad when a huge company such as this tries to hurt people instead of hurting them. read more

Worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. My insurance (BCBS) covers a yearly exam. When I called to make the appointment I made sure that they accepted my insurance. My daughter was with me (she also had an appointment. I am 61 years old and disabled and have to use a walker. They took all of my information and told us to sit in the waiting area and they would call me when the doctor was ready. Well, about 15 minutes later a woman comes out from the back and calls me over and tells me that they are "out of network" and my eye exam would be $139.00. I knew this was not correct but I said I would figure it out and come back. So, I had just received my new insurance card and it clearly states on the front of the card that yearly eye exam is 100% covered. My daughter went up to the desk and pointed this out to them and, after every person working there was called over to clear this, I was told they would cover the exam but not the glasses (which is what I intended anyway). So, they tell my daughter that I would have to be "put back in the queue" and they would call me back for the exam. So, they call my daughter back and I'm still waiting, and waiting. 45 minutes after my appointment time another woman comes over to me in the waiting area and tells me that they cannot see me today, that I was going to have to reschedule because "you missed your appointment". WHAT!!! I had been sitting there for over an hour waiting for them to straighten out the insurance issue - not they are telling me that they have to reschedule - the first week of April!!!!! All this time I had no idea who was in charge of what. It seemed like everyone was involved in making the decision to see me. Needless to say, when my daughter came out from seeing the doctor we left - making it clear that we were very unhappy with the whole situation. I will never, ever go back to MyEyeDr and will tell anyone that asks me what an awful experience I had. read more

The staff and optometrist were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly to work with. All of my questions and concerns were answered, and I never felt nervous about asking questions. They were super helpful in explaining all my options in regards to budget and insurance, and they accept virtually all forms of insurance. In fact, the staff at this location did quite a bit of research (before my appointment) to accommodate my vision benefit from UCT, which is a little known plan in this part of the U.S.. Their equipment is top notch and they explained to me about what each system does and why it's important. Thank goodness they've moved on from the "puff of air" test. The new test is much less annoying. The Retina scan is always fun to see on the screen. I could not be more happy with the level of service, value, and customer service. The General Manager, Ashley R., is delightful to work with, and her team of amazing team members are definitely above and beyond. Consider me impressed. read more

I should have looked at reviews prior to going. Not good, highly unrecommended. I have used MyEyeDr for my provider in the past and it felt like a private practitioner. This one is very corporate and they give no cares for personalizing or making you feel valued. I average somewhere like $400-500 spent after insurance every time I go to the Eye Doctor. I spent a $10 copay here. I will not go back. For the experience I got, I'd rather order from some random website. Very disappointing. read more

Terrible customer service. In October, I made an appointment for my annual contact lens exam. At this appointment I learned that I had developed an infection that would require a month of prescription eye drops and I was instructed to come back after that month for my lens fitting. Fast forward to November, I made an appointment for 11/29 at 10:00 AM. I arrived early to check in and the receptionist tells me that "The doctor's schedule changed, she won't be back until Tuesday." I understand that this appointment was made for the week of Thanksgiving and many people travel, but the point is I never received a phone call, text or email. I passed up on the opportunity to spend time with my family for this appointment that didn't end up happening. I was also told that I was not the only person scheduled for that day, which makes me even more frustrated. I will not be back. read more

Cancelled my husbands first appointment because they were "too busy". Our health insurance coverage ended shortly after so he was unable to get an eye exam until we got new insurance. The woman was extremely rude and told my husband his current glasses didn't look good on him. They lied to us about sending contacts. Tried to sort the issue out with Trish who was not only unhelpful, but extremely rude and condescending. There are many other places that will treat you with respect and better service. read more

My experience with this location (Knightdale) has been horrible. I had my appointment on 12/5. My doctor was nice, but the guy helping me choose frames seemed as if he wanted to be elsewhere. Ordered my frames and purchased sunglasses. On 12/7, I returned to exchange my sunglasses for a pair that would allow me to add my prescription. I noticed I did not receive the proper credit for the difference in pay for the sunglasses and emailed customer service. Received a quick reply that I would be mailed a refund check. Great! On 12/10, I received a call that the frames I ordered were no longer available. Returned to the office on 12/12 to order new frames. I didn't hear anything, so I contacted the office on 12/21. The associate stated one pair was due to arrive that day and the other pair on 12/23. 12/23 passed with no word from anyone. I contacted the office again on 12/29 and was told they were there! Apparently, no one had planned to call and inform me. Surprisingly, on 12/30, I get a voice mail that my glasses are ready. Really?? I already knew that because I called on 12/29! Pick up my glasses on 12/30 and ask about my sunglasses. The associate tells me he will contact the company on 12/31 to find out what's going on and let me know what he finds out. As of today, 1/9, I have not received a call/update. So, I will be calling again on Monday. Remember the refund I was supposed to receive? As of today, I have not received it. I sent emails to customer service on 12/27 and 12/30 to get an update on the refund. No one bothered to respond to my emails. This business has the worst customer service I've experienced in a while. What type of business just leaves their customers in limbo? What is so hard about replying to an email or picking up the phone to tell me the order has been delayed...something! Instead, all I received was silence. I will not give them my business next year!! read more

I had a great experience at this location. I already had an eye appointment but my wife woke up with a very red and painful eye that morning and they were able to work her in also. The front desk worker even helped track down our correct insurance information, since we had just changed and we weren't sure what we needed (I would like to add this was on a Saturday and BCBS was closed). The doctor was very nice and the staff helped me order my new glasses very quickly. Very happy with the service! Great group working in Knightdale. read more

They lie to you for your business! I was there a little less than 2 years ago and spent a lot of money on my lenses. one of the reasons I was ok with the price was that I was told by Daniel that the lenses had a 3 year warranty and could get them replaced if scratched. I went there to get replacements and of course they have no record of such warranty. I will not be returning there with my business. read more
