This place is an absolute rip off. From the office staff to the doctor to the optical team…read more The appointment process was ridiculous, had booked 6 months in advanced and there was no availability for around 3 months from the day we wanted... So our appointment was 9 months apart from the booking date.. The doctor visit was so rushed. Poirier clearly wanted easy cash, started trying to hook us into their in-house specialist sector while ridiculing the doctor we currently went to. He also did not explain things clearly and was very difficult to work with. Tried to ask questions and he was already halfway to the door. The optical team were uninformative with the lens options, automatically ordering us the premium lenses instead of giving us all the options so we could choose. Said it was "their automatic choice as they wanted the best for their patients". We demanded a refund, after consulting with our insurance, which took forever to process as they had a "no returns" policy. Additionally, the frames on display contained no price tags, so every one that we liked we had to ask them to search it up on their computer to know if it was in our budget. The front desk team was polite, but their work ethic was very questionable. When we were all done, they checked us out and simply handed us a paper with the next appointment date. Did not ask if we wanted to schedule in advanced. Did not ask if there was a day that worked best for us. Just a "here you go, and if it doesnt work call us back"... Overall, horrible office. We were given little to no choices on anything and everything. They try to force our hands into doing things for us without our consent just so they can gain the most money out of it. DO NOT RECOMMEND AND PLEASE STEER CLEAR!!

The doctor and lady helping her were also extremely friendly and informative and seemed to genuinely care about my needs. Lastly the lady who helps during check out was an absolute doll. So helpful and sweet. They have assembled an incredible staff here.

Zero stars - extremely disappointing experience. I waited 45 minutes after my appointment time to…read morebe seen, finally someone noticed me waiting and asked another staff member to get me started. While going over charges at the end, I had a $145 contact fitting fee. I've been wearing contacts for years so no one helped me "fit" anything. After stating they should really be more transparent around pricing I was informed that I was supposed to be told upfront. I asked for one pair of contact lens samples to take with me to use during the two week wait time and was told no. $718 and 3 hours later (no exaggeration ) I was finally on my way out. I did ask if that time frame was typical and was told that it was normal now that they've switched to virtual. I now know after reading other reviews that it's actually not typical. I feel deceived on pricing and my time and patronage were not respected or appreciated. I'll be picking up my glasses (cheapest pair available) and contacts and will never visit again. I'll add that the virtual visit with the doctor and technician was fine and both were professional. Unfortunately this doesn't make up for the rest of the visit but it's at least one good caveat to this.

If were able to put a negative number of stars, I would do so! The 1st time I went here to have…read moresome eyeglasses repaired I was told it would take a few days. After 31/2 weeks I had not heard anything and when I returned the same snobby woman who took care of me was again vey uninformative. Since I had gotten my last pair of glasses at one of the locations in Cary, NC and because they were close by, I thought let's give them another chance. The examination went well and I was informed my exam was covered by my insurance, however the retina pictures were not and it cost me $40.00....no big deal. I typically purchase two pair of glasses, one are my progressives and another for distance only. Due to the high cost of their frames I asked if they could use my old frames since they were only about a year old and was told that would be fine. when it came to pricing my primary pair of glasses they hit me with a $550.00 price. I balked and asked why they were so much. I got a dog & pony story from one person and then another from the same snobby girl at the counter who B.S.'d me they couldn't contact my insurance. Then how did you find out my exam was free? I am a retired senior citizen on a fixed income and I believe I was being ripped off. I paid my $44.00 dollar fee for additional exam, took my prescription and left. It's very sad when a huge company such as this tries to hurt people instead of hurting them.

Worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. My insurance (BCBS) covers a yearly exam. When…read moreI called to make the appointment I made sure that they accepted my insurance. My daughter was with me (she also had an appointment. I am 61 years old and disabled and have to use a walker. They took all of my information and told us to sit in the waiting area and they would call me when the doctor was ready. Well, about 15 minutes later a woman comes out from the back and calls me over and tells me that they are "out of network" and my eye exam would be $139.00. I knew this was not correct but I said I would figure it out and come back. So, I had just received my new insurance card and it clearly states on the front of the card that yearly eye exam is 100% covered. My daughter went up to the desk and pointed this out to them and, after every person working there was called over to clear this, I was told they would cover the exam but not the glasses (which is what I intended anyway). So, they tell my daughter that I would have to be "put back in the queue" and they would call me back for the exam. So, they call my daughter back and I'm still waiting, and waiting. 45 minutes after my appointment time another woman comes over to me in the waiting area and tells me that they cannot see me today, that I was going to have to reschedule because "you missed your appointment". WHAT!!! I had been sitting there for over an hour waiting for them to straighten out the insurance issue - not they are telling me that they have to reschedule - the first week of April!!!!! All this time I had no idea who was in charge of what. It seemed like everyone was involved in making the decision to see me. Needless to say, when my daughter came out from seeing the doctor we left - making it clear that we were very unhappy with the whole situation. I will never, ever go back to MyEyeDr and will tell anyone that asks me what an awful experience I had.
