Because of worsening vision, I returned to Dr Boliek several months following bilateral cataract surgery (despite having had similar issues with him previously which I did not review). He said my vision was nearly 20/20 with a large new floater occasionally clouding vision. But I knew he had mentioned something else to his assistant so I asked what the other thing he found was and he refused to tell me; in fact he became irritated and said "I don't have time to explain what nerves, cornea, retina are". I said , "I know what those things are" (having two graduate degrees with honors ) and instead of politely and professionally asking his assistant to explain his new diagnosis, he said "you can read it in the chart" and curtly left the room, as if I was a problem for daring to ask. The assistant silently kept her back to me (toxic culture??). I got a copy of my notes at the front desk and that's how I learned that I have bilateral secondary cataracts. Most adults who have very poor social skills have developed "work arounds". Wish Dr Boliek would accept some help with this. read more
