Quick update. I did pick up my glasses today and they are gorgeous to me (Oliver Peoples brand). I paid a lot more than I usually do, but I selected a higher-end frame. There are other sites that had the frames for a little less, but didn't have the features or warranty that myeyedr offers. There was some confusion about the arrival date of the glasses. I was originally told it'd be up to 2 weeks out. Their website said they'd be ready in 1 week out. The glasses arrived in 3 weeks. This wouldn't have been an issue if I'd have just been told up front. So, anticipate 3 weeks. Also, keep in mind they close at 5PM. read more

8:15 appointment, waited for 20 minutes and asked why the delay? They were confirming my benefits. I said I'd wait another 5 minutes. Why wasn't this done prior to my arrival? Arrived 10 minutes early for a 2 pm appointment. As of 3 pm, I am still waiting for the doctor to arrive. I checked at the 30 minute mark asking for an ETA, response was a shrug and they didn't know. No apology or acknowledgment of the delay. The appointments are set in 15 minute increments; the office staff doesn't seem concerned about keeping schedules on track or patients informed of any delays. Once the doctor arrived, he apologized for the delay and I did feel heard. He did not rush through the appointment and took the time to talk to me about my eye health. Been coming to this location for years, different doctor each time. The primary reason for the 2 star is due to the people that help with glasses. They are amazing, always helpful and do their best to maximize your benefits. read more

Posting a review just to balance out all of the nay-sayers. I have never had a bad experience here. I have never witnessed anyone else having a bad experience here. I started with Blake, was moved at some point to Dr. Bean, and then back to Dr. Blake when she left. I have always had both an enjoyable and productive experience here. I have always, and will continue to recommend this practice to anyone that asks. As long as this business is open, and I am still breathing, this is where I will continue to go for Eye Care. read more

I hate to post this, but I felt I needed to. First, I love Dr. Bean. She provides excellent care, and changed my life with the contacts she recommended. I was in over three weeks ago for an exam. I ordered prescription shooting glasses and refreshed contacts. Not hearing anything about their arrival, I called them after 10 days or so to ask about both. They told me the shooting glasses were in (why no call, I wondered?). But, fine, I went and picked the glasses up. They also told me my contacts, being somewhat unusual, could take longer, but they would check on them. Now, over a week since I was told that they would 'check on them', I called to again see where my contacts were. Today I found out the truth, in that they had not even ordered them yet. So now, after more than three weeks, they're just now (hopefully) getting around to ordering them. That's not the kind of service from the staff I would have expected. Update: picked up my contacts today after having waited over a month to receive them. The left one is fine, the right is a mess, comfortable but blurry vision. I've called twice today to speak to someone other than an admin type answering the phone. I've been promised a call back (twice), but noth Updating my review. My annual appointment was 12/26/23. New lenses, I thought, were ordered. Now exactly one month later, I called to see what was up. Again, I was told they had failed to order them. Why does this keep happening? Been going here for years and my daughter too. Dr Hughes is the best! He is so caring and professional and I love the way he explains things so that I can understand. His dad was our doctor for years until he retired. Then his son became our eye doctor. I know our eyes are in good hands with Dr Blake. Also Wendy (I think that was her name) who helped with the purchase of my daughters glasses was extremely helpful and kind. She explained things very well. If you want to waste your time and get terrible customer service come here. It's a 45 min drive for me to come see this eye doctor. I arrived at 4:12 pm my appt was at 4:00 the reception and manager refused let me go back for my appointment. I had called to tell them I was running late at 3:50pm. Their solution "just don't show". What? I already took time off from work and drive most of the way there. When I did show at 4:12 they said the Dr had left already, he only waits 10 mins. Really? He couldn't stay 2 extra minutes to meet with me. Especially when I called. He throws out 15 years of being my dr, numerous referrals, years of buying glasses from them because of 2 minutes. The manager had no solutions for me. And why is it that at 4:10pm there are no other dr in the clinic to assist? That no one there couldn't have made it easy to add this one last patient in quickly to see the doctor. Note: This appointment was a reschedule because the dr couldn't make the last one. read more

Doctor and tech was great! I didn't have a terrible experience until I sat down with the consultant who was supposed to check us out and recommend options for contacts and glasses. I explained several times that I was over my time limit and needed to return to work. It was clear she wasn't going to be able to provide me with clear quotes after she tried for 15 mins, so I then just asked that she run the options and email me the information. I would review after work and make a decision. She then tried to quote it another way - AGAIN. I was 45 mins late returning to work and left without any pricing information. She left our consultation at least 4 times to ask questions to her manager - returning each time with obscure pricing information like "the lenses for your glasses will be 380.00" when all I needed was the bottom line $$ after insurance. How much do I owe you for this appt and what is the quote for glasses, contacts, and both. If you need more time to run the quotes and check with insurance, please email me that info once you have time to do them. The final person (female) who approached us to "explain" more in depth about the 180.00 apppointment and fitting charges was extremely caddy, sarcastic, and rude. Even though the doctor told them that my son has a medical condition and would likely have dual coverage through medical and vision, they never attempted to provide pricing that way to me. We will never be back and I will make it a mission to ensure all of my neighbors, coworkers, and friends in Hurst never have to go through what I just did. There are 1200 employees at my facility and all of them will know of this experience since this was a recommended provider on my insurance. I am posting this on our internal social media site TODAY. The final kicker was - I got home and was able to get a years supply of contacts through 1800Contacts after insurance for only $19.99 out of pocket. Her quote to me was 186.00 for a 6 month supply. It's a shame that you can't to choose at least one star. These people are nothing but thieves. My first visit was quite pleasant with the exception of the sales pitch at the end trying to get you to buy glasses.... I ordered a pair of glasses with the script that I received from these people. I got the glasses in the script was so off I couldn't even see anything... I called scheduled a follow up visit. They check the glasses to verify that they were consistent with the script. They wrote before and wanted to blame my eyes having changed as the problem... I can deal with all that but then when I got to the consultant at the end, they wanted to charge me $35 for the new script... These people are thieves and if they had any in integrity, they wouldn't be working for a company the prom promoted thievery. read more

Horrible experience with the glasses/contact side! Ordered glasses on Sep 23rd w/ a promise date of Oct 7th. I called on the 3rd just to see if maybe they gotten there early, they didn't and the receptionist reminded me of the promise by date of the 7th. No problem. Fast forward to the 7th, I call and ask are my glasses in, I'm told there not. I ask, when would they come then? I'm told they don't know. I ask to speak to a manager, Michael. Michael then begins to tell me they are delayed because of the hurricane in FL. I ask, why is this the first time I'm hearing about a delay when I called earlier in the week to confirm the PROMISE BY DATE. Michael then becomes a comedian/weatherman instead of trying to assist me. He asked me have I not turned on the news to see that there was big hurricane in Fl. I have to remind him that we're in Texas and I don't know where they ship their glasses from, and further more why am I Just now hearing of a delay, on the day Im supposed to receive my glasses if they KNEW that they had customers that were gonna have delayed orders AND when I called earlier in the week to confirm?? I'm told that it's impossible to call everyone whos order was going to be delayed. I ask when I can expect my glasses and Im told the 12th. Fast forward to the 12th, I wait for a call saying my glasses are in... no call.... I finally call them at 3 and they say my glasses are in, they close at 5. Annoyed that I had to call to receive my product and had to rush and get them by 5. Annoyed that I was made to feel like the problem, when I asked why I haven't received my (paid in full for) item by their PROMISE BY date. Horrible experience. I will never go to any office w/ them name MrEyeDr on the door. The 1 star is for the eye doctor being nice and the lady that brought my glasses out was nice. read more

Dr. Blake has been my eye doctor for years. We drive from Waxahachie for his care and professionalism. When we have an urgent eye need, they can always find a way to work us into the schedule. He really takes the time to get to know his patients and their specific eye needs. read more

This place used to be good before being bought out by MyEyeDr. I loved Dr. Bean. Even though she left I still I made an appointment. The tech and eye Dr. were nice enough but when I went to the glasses section to make my selection and get pricing, I was told I owed $185.00 for my exam that day because my exam was a month too soon for my insurance to cover it. Why didn't they tell me this when I called? I would have waited a month had I known. I reluctantly paid it and bought my glasses online. I called 3 times to speak to a manager regarding this issue and kept being told I would be called back. I never received a call back. I finally got fed up and said forget it. The best way to show your dissatisfaction with a business is to take your $ elsewhere which is exactly what I'm doing. read more
