Dear Office Manager, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with your office, specifically involving a staff member named Shaye during several phone interactions. I contacted the office multiple times seeking assistance and clarification about services and coverage. During each call, I remained polite and respectful. Unfortunately, the tone and manner in which I was spoken to felt dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I did not receive clear guidance despite calling several times, and the conversations felt focused only on payment rather than patient care and understanding. As a Medicaid patient, I left these interactions feeling judged and unwelcome. This experience was deeply upsetting and made me feel discouraged about seeking care through your location. No patient should feel uncomfortable or ashamed when trying to access medical services. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed. At minimum, I hope additional training can be provided to ensure all patients are treated with respect, fairness, and professionalism regardless of insurance type or background. After writing the review they did end up ordering the newer frames for me. The didn't charge me for the upgraded frames. So I ended up getting $400 frames for $350 instead of $300 for $350 as it was originally. In the end they made it right but lying to me about the lenses from the frames which became discontinued, not fitting into the Gen 2 was confirmed to be a lie. In the end it saved me $50 but cost me a months use. Lenses are like rentals. I lost a months life on them as they sat on a self. read more

Today was my first experience with MyEyeDr and I am extremely pleased. From the moment I arrived I was taken care of completely. Every question I had was addressed. I never felt rushed. I was given options and not pressured in making any purchases I couldn't afford. ALL of the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Let me start by saying I have been going to Dr. Latham when it was still Harwood vision clinic- since 2014 to be exact. Prior to going here, I had tried other optmetrists who simply dismissed my sudden vision deterioration as presbyopia-except I was 28 years old when I went to get it checked out the first time. My vision problem does present like presbyopia but it requires more fine tuning than just throwing bifocals on my face because it isnt. By the time I came to Dr. Latham, I was close to 40 and it would have been much easier for him to dismiss my vision problems as presbyopia since I was now the correct age to fit the diagnosis but he took time to explain what he thought was the cause and it made a lot of sense. But the moment of truth came when I got the new glasses and my vision was clear for both near and far. I was sold. Fast forward 8 years and he sells to MyEyeDr. (If you look at the hidden yelp reviews, you'll notice that they are mostly 5 star and are from before MyEyeDr took over.) The staff I was used to left, the one that stayed has become apathetic and they keep fitting my progressives wrong. This last time, I ended up spending $800 on glasses that relapsed my migraines (lost time at work) and caused serious errors at work because I couldn't see. The first time I came back, they remeasured and redid the lens, still couldn't see well because the girl insisted on placing the near vision lower inspite of me explaining why the conventional measurements hadn't worked for me in the past. When I called, they said it must be the prescription. They informed me Dr. Latham was gone and redid my eye exam with a different optometrist who claimed the initial prescription was way off. I was so happy to hear this because I really wanted to get a fix. I did see a little better with the new prescription but the continued migraines, teary eyes and blurry vision forced me to admit this wasn't working either. I called again and they very lightly asked me to come back for another fitting appointment, as if I had nothing better to do with my time. I came back and requested the guy who had helped me in past years but he didn't seem happy to assist me this time. The staff was now treating me like I was the problem without apology for the incredible inconvenence I had experienced so far. He re-measured again without listening to what really was not working with the current lens and remade a pair of lens that I couldn't even stand for more than 8 hours. In short, I have a pair of useless glasses that cost me almost $1000, costly mistakes at work, migraine pain and lost PTO between the repeat appointments and missed work for pain not to talk of the wastefullnes of re-ordering new lenses instead of getting it right the first time. The glasses have been in their case all year and I am now in the market for a new eye clinic. read more

I went in to get my exam and the eye Doctor wanted to take an image of the back of my eye. I explained to her that my insurance does not cover it and did not want to pay out of pocket for it. She assured me by saying cause of my diabetes that she would get them to pay for it. I called the office twice with them and the payment office and today about 8-9 months later I had to pay it. I don't mind the money but why lie to my face and then not even have the nerve to call me and explain why she said what she said. read more

Found myself here in somewhat of an urgent situation. Come to realize there are not many optometrist practice that are open for medical visits on a Saturday. From the front desk staff to the medical assistant, they were professional, friendly and accommodating. The doctor and assistants were nice, but when my wife and I both went for annual eye exams, we had to wait 30+ minutes each to see doctor, even though we had appointments. The office is old and looks like it could have been in The Brady Brunch TV series. Their eye glass section is limited. And what I really don't like and think it's shady is that even though you have eye vision insurance, they use your medical insurance. I'm sure so they can get paid more, but that shouldn't even be legal. Eye stuff should use eye vision insurance, and medical stuff should use your medical insurance. They are just trying to get the maximum amount of money for your visit and that must be filing with your medical insurance. There are a ton of eye places so I would definitely recommend going to a national network chain location for better service and variety of glasses. read more

Been coming here since I was about 7 years old (I'm 24 now) and I've never had a very experience at this place. Dr. Latham is very much a stickler when it comes to how you should take care of your eyes with no room for error. He's very judgemental and just all around not very nice. The rate they charge for contacts is also outrageous and whenever I tell the receptionist that I'm not ordering any and just want the prescription they give me annoyed or puzzled looks as if they have never heard of 1-800 contacts and have no idea what I would do with just the prescription. I've still come here for the past 6 years just out of laziness since I only come once a year, but for the past 2-3 years my prescription has been completely wrong and I can barely see sometimes! I've tried to tell Dr. Latham this but he doesn't listen to my opinion cause "he's the doctor and he knows best" but I'm never coming back here again. read more

i called them gave them my insurance information over the phone asked them how much my exam would cost. i get done and they tried to charge me double. i had to talk to the manager. they came down but i had to raise hell. doctors just ok and everything is over priced they wanted double the cost of my contact lenses. i would not recommend .. stay away. i had to come back bc my sample lenses were so terrible. they asked me what was in my eyes like i knew the prescription. i just know they are what the doctor gave me and i couldn't see.. i will never come back here and i wouldn't recommend.. this is my third visit.. and i'm still not happy bc i'm afraid the glasses prescription isn't gonna be strong enough. anyway i'll check back once they come in read more

I will never ever go to this place again and I will make sure everyone I know does not go. My wife and I had appointments as follows hers was for 8:45 and mine for 9am we arrived at 8:30am, they did not take her back until 10 till 9, no big deal 5 minutes is acceptable. 9am rolls around nothing, 9:15, 9:30, 9:40 my wife finally comes out still nothing said to me. Had to wait 10 minutes because they dilated her eyes, waiting. Then finally just before getting her to go back to finish up it is 9:50 and they finally realized they had forgotten about me. I told them no I no longer had the time because I had to be to work at noon and at the rate they were moving I would never get out of there. They over book and double stack appts, they could care less about their patients your just another number to them. DO NOT GO THIS PLACE. read more

It was quick and the doctor took the time to explain everything to me. Even gave me a sample allergy drops to take home and try before prescribing it, to see if works for me. Dr. Latham is worth 5 stars. Dr. Pham pulls that score down to 1 star because her mistakes and dismissive attitude have cost me around $1000. She screwed up an exam by going too fast. Didn't diagnose the worsened astigmatism and nearsightedness. Several hundred dollars for the exam wasted. She gave me my old prescription as a "new" prescription. I went to the vision shop there to order new lenses that were exactly like what I already had. That wasted several hundred dollars more. And hours of my time. The lab screwed up the anti-glare coating, glasses had to be remade. They didn't charge me for that. I received the correct "new" glasses. Vision still blurry. It took repeated tries to reach a doctor for an evaluation. She initially dismissed my concerns, then she tested my vision. Corrected with the glasses, it was 20/30. I said that wasn't good enough. She said it was good enough to drive, so it is fine. I said I spent several hundred dollars, it should be corrected to 20/20. She laughed at me and said there is a diagnosis for this, "over 40 eyes". I was 40. She insinuated that my vision had deteriorated that much in the weeks since my exam to explain this. I tried to deal with it. Then I went back and saw a different doctor. I may have a correct prescription now; he diagnosed the worsened astigmatism and near vision. But to add insult to injury, I had to pay $200 to have a correct diagnosis from her peer that I should have received the first time. Nearly $1,000 out of my pocket, and I still do not have glasses to correct the problem I told them I had months ago. Dr. Quynh Nhi Pham cost me hundreds of dollars, hours of time, months of frustration and laughed at me when dealing with her mistakes. Unqualified, unprofessional, and/or incompetent. read more
