They took a picture of my eye and she was able to tell me to talk to my GP because of lines she could see I was on the verge of high cholesterol. No other optometrist had done that before. She also fitted me with the lenses right there in the office another 1st for me. I was able to see how I would be seeing when I would receive my new glasses. I went to this place specifically because I wanted DIFF frames & they carried them, DIFF gives back when you buy a pr. I found the ones I loved & they were ready in a week 1/2. Easy peasy! Friendly staff! The appointment went just as expected. I was in and out in a timely manner, and I even ordered new glasses.

I made appointment over phone first week of January. The earliest they could fit me was 23rd of January at 9:30. I completed the online new patient forms same day. They sent me an email address that they received them. I called the 2nd week of January to see if they may have had any cancellations. They did not which was fine with me. I arrived at the office at 9:17 am and was told my appointment was at 8:30. I advised I was told 9:30, and would have preferred 8:30. I never received any confirmation prior to my appointment by email or phone. They confirmed they had correct information. Why could they not make a courtesy call that day to make sure I was coming in? They were not obviously not busy as I saw them in back room laughing and joking around. No apologies from anyone. I have no problems with Dr. Cantucan other than she never asked what happened. She was able to fit me in and get me out in a reasonable amount of time. I believe that Dr. Cantucan needs to reassess her front office people and investigate that they are doing what they are suppose to be doing. Case in point: 1. No apologies from front office. 2. Certain Tech(s) wearing scrubs that looked wrinkled and dirty. 3. My co-pay was 15.00. I gave front office 20.00 and the front office gave me 10.00 back. Hmmm. Yes I let her know and it was corrected. So: 4 stars for Dr. Cantucan: Again would may have been five if she had showed a little concern about my issue. 2 stars for my experience and front office. Where do I start? It was the abonaste worst experience I've had from any eye care center. I am on a state insurance plan with my mother and they have a spectate eye insurance provider they're connected to. I called this location and they told me that they would service this insurance. They wanted her information such as SSN and what not. She called and have it to them. Two days later, I had my eye check up and then everything was strange. 1. I arrived and they said they didn't have any of my information on file and I gave it all to them. Showed them the insurance card, my proof of ID, and asked if they needed my mother's information again. Later, we are told that I was charged extra for lack of proof of Insurance and they only take the parent state insurance company, not the third party eye care provider. 2. They took my glasses from me to check my prescription and then a few hours later my glasses literally fell apart on my face. Went to three different eye centers and they all said that they have no idea how my glasses would brake in the way they did and where they broke was very strange. I'm not sure if the assistant accidentally broke them, but I know these were tough frames. I've even had them stepped on or I've rolled over on them in my sleep and nothing happened. 3. They try to charge me 3x the market price of contacts. Ridiculous. 4. They hesitate to give me my prescription and try to tell me that it is only for glasses and that I would need to go for another visit to get one for contacts. At this point, I lost my shit and just told them to send it to me. Which they eventually did. I wouldn't recommended this place to anyone. They will lose your information, break your stuff, and rip you off. read more

I had a great experience with Dr C and the whole staff at First Eye Care in Bedford. I hate waiting for an exam so it was nice they got me in and out but I never felt rushed. Dr C is very friendly and listened to my concerns. They have a great selection of frames and the front desk staffs helped me pick the right one for me. Would not recommend this place. When I went in for my exam the Dr told me that my prescription had changed dramatically, but when I asked my how much she avoided the question. She seemed unconcerned that I had just stopped some serious medication a month prior and brushed off my concern it could be related to that. Never gave me my prescription, I ordered glass and had to return two times for adjustments bc the script was wrong. I felt like they were only concerned about how much money they could get out of me!! I will never return. I will say that making an appointment is quick and easy, they staff was nice enough, but that's not enough to make up for my horrible experience. read more

Can't speak for others, but let ME tell you this........I THINK I MADE A GOOD DECISION GOING HERE. Why? I just got my glasses and contacts today, and very pleased with both! The Dr. got it right the first time! Dr. Catuncan is in my opinion, very knowledgeable, friendly, never felt rushed with her at all, and the PRETTIEST doctor I've ever had. :-P She carries that place, cause not all of her staff are totally knowledgeable, or as friendly. Felt rushed and unprofessional, won't be coming back. Went for a routine eye exam. Chose them because of location & the ability to book appointments online. My appointment was at 1200 however I had to wait until 1248 to see the Doctor. The assistant was VERY rushed & acted like she was doing me a serious favor to answer a simple insurance question. The Doctor finally showed up and proceeded to speed through the procedure. I had several questions about my vision that she reluctantly answered with short replies. I felt their priority was to run through as many patients as possible which is not I want when getting any kind of medical check up. Parking is terrible, their two reserved spots were filled up when I arrived and left. There are too many other options near this area for me to go back. I suggest you avoid. read more

Everyone there was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I even showed up 15 minutes late due to road construction and rush hour traffic and although I was their last appointment, they still had no problem letting me keep my appointment. I really like the fact that it was the doctor herself (not someone working the front desk) who called to check if my new contacts were a good fit for me! My first time here this past Monday and already had such an amazing experience. There were 3 ladies working ...First Lady who worked manly the front desk she was super friendly and offered me something to drink twice..second lady name Naomi who looks like the tech she was really helpful and efficient..and last was dr C she was very knowledgeable and patience...she also helped the girls worked the front desk and helped me with my prices ...I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an eye care..no pushy sales at all what you like is what you buy. read more

I LOVE This place! I loved the doctor and all the staff was super friendly, even helping me to text communications with my fiancee while i was all dialated and blurry. The doctor was really nice and answered all of the questions I had professionally and gracefully. I have already sent lots of reccomendations for this place and will definitely be going back in the future for all my eye care needs. Only downside is parking, they are in a REALLY busy parking lot and have 2 reserved spaces but I went on a Saturday morning and had no issues at all.
