    Dr. Doan is the best. She's diligent and great at what she does. Nice and modern clinic as well and lots of great frames!

I'm an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant and I was blown away at how rude she was. Zero bedside manner, definitely judgy, talks to you like you're stupid, which is hilarious to watch because I do her exact job and more. She is just overall miserable and has a stick up her rear end. During my exam, I even called an Optometrist I work with because I was so willing to walk out, but I realized I already paid for my exam ahead of time, so I stayed. She didn't give me a trial contact lens, which is odd, given I just got a CTL exam. As for the receptionist Adriana, she is so sweet and welcoming! And Valeria (the assistant I dealt with after the horrible exam) was so so sweet as well. Unfortunately, they tried charging me $20 for imaging that I didn't ask for. When the 1st assistant started them, I asked if the imaging costs extra (which I was told at the America's Best in Compton). She said "no, these are general tests." And I was right, they were extra. I told Valeria it's not her fault & I'll go ahead and pay. They should def let pts know this ahead of time though. Anyway, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!

After completing the paperwork, the front desk staff told us they couldn't get our coverage approved and would contact our insurance company, then follow up with us on Monday. That never happened. I sent a text on October 2 -- no reply. I sent another on October 8, and only then did they inform me they had not received payment for last year's eye exam. We were never notified of this. I contacted our insurance company, and they attempted multiple times to reach Western Center Eye Care. Their calls were never returned. When I followed up again, WCEC blamed the insurance company for "calling before they opened." The truth is, Western Center Eye Care switched billing companies in 2023 or 2024, and they never submitted my claim and submitted my husband's incorrectly. When my insurance finally did reach someone (I was told the name was Dana), that person was given clear instructions on how to properly submit a paper claim for last year and was also informed that we do have coverage and exactly what is covered. We still never heard back from WCEC. I continued texting -- ignored. The only response I eventually got said someone would call me. I am still waiting for that call. Customer service has been terrible from start to finish. Posting this review is the only way I feel I can get their attention and warn current or future patients about the lack of communication and responsibility. During our most recent visit, a scan/photo of my eyes was performed without my prior consent, and we were later charged for it at checkout. This is completely unacceptable, Patients should be informed of any additional procedures and costs beforehand and given the option to decline. To make matters worse, I was charged $100 for a contact lens fitting but was not provided trial lenses at the time since they needed to be ordered. I simply asked to pay my bill, receive my prescription, and have the trials ordered. Instead, they told me that if I wanted them to order the trials, I would have to surrender my prescription--and that trials are only provided if you purchase lenses directly through them. That makes no sense. If I paid for a fitting, I should receive the appropriate follow-up, including trial lenses, without being forced into purchasing from their office. Overall, this office lacks transparency and prioritizes profit over patient care. I would not recommend it.

Dr. Jordyn Flemons suggested I try a different brand and said she would order trials before issuing my contact prescription. I aggreeded to this and had explained that I was leaving the country in a few days and would not be back in Texas until August. I confirmed that my parents would be able to come into the store and pick up the trials to then send to me so I would be able to test them out, that way I would have the new prescription with the new brand and be able to do a full order and have them by the time I get back. It has been over a month with ZERO CONTACT. No emails, no calls and no updates. So on May 31 I called the store to check in...only it's not the store but a call center who said they have no way of reaching the store or doctor directly. They also confirmed what I already suspected, no order for trials was ever placed. Dr. Jordyn Flemons lied to me to my face about ordering this. She knew I was down to my last pair of contacts and knew how important this was. I've been waiting for over a month for something she never even did. What's worse is I would have been more than happy just sticking with the brand I've used for the past 5+ years. I asked the man from the call center (because can't ask the doctor directly) if I could just have the basic prescription so I could just order contacts, I need to wear contacts each day and at this point not going to have any. I wear monthly and have already overworn them. He said no. So Warby Parker charged me for a glasses and contact exam, gave me a glasses prescription, did all the things to test contacts and lied about actually giving out a contact prescription. What concerns me the most is the fact there is no way to contact the doctor directly, not even an email. I've been using Warby Parker since 2019 and will never order or shop with them again. I still want my contact prescription but they refuse to connect me with the store to even get what I paid for.
