Finally I found my eye service company. Such helpful staff I couldn't be happier with not just my glasses but with their care and service.

Communication about the eye examination what is included and the steps in the examination explaining what they are look for what each test. No questions asked if a patient has questions about test or the results. My eye examination results were not shred or explained. Went straight to wanting to sell me glasses. Did not offer to check for glaucoma in a regular eye exam. Focused on getting me in and out to sell me glasses. Plus don't bother calling and leaving a message if you have a question it's not important to them call backs days leter. read more

Worst experience of my life that I had an eye doctor. The doctor insisted I choose between A and B when neither we're good. She even raised her voice when I told her neither were good. Altig Optical is a plus 10 for vision testing and I highly recommend them. I have a wonderful doctor I see there and EVERYONE at this office is kind, caring and very explanatory. I have never had an Optical technician take the time to find a terrific pair of glasses as the lady I had. She was listening to what my issues with fittings were and took extreme care with me. I've never felt so welcomed and usually I'm a nerve wreck when it comes to the eye exams especially since I had the appointment @8am (totally not a morning person) but everyone made me feel comfortable. I had a bad experience here. Part of it was my fault for not understanding a change to my insurance. This was not my usual eye doctor, which was also because of my insurance change. They still had my records on file as having visited here once in the late 90s. I couldn't remember why I didn't go there more than once, but I soon found out. All 4 staff members I came in contact with, from the receptionist to the contact lens fitter, gave me a hard sell about getting glasses in addition to contact lenses, even though I specifically said I did not want glasses. The eye doctor, Dr. Maloney, asked my age before doing my exam. When I said I was 42, he said I was going to need bifocals or reading glasses soon (even though I'm not having any trouble reading now.) He didn't say that it was based on any of the results of the tests done by the optical tech, so it just sounded like age discrimination. I would have believed him if he had said it was because of something they found on my vision tests. My prescription has not changed in more than 8 years and I haven't noticed any vision problems. So I was quite surprised when my new prescription was stronger in my right eye - and less strong than before in my left eye. I couldn't see well at all in the new contacts they gave me and I said so. The lens fitter expected that I would be reading more clearly than before. Finally Dr. Altig himself came in and said they were trying to correct for the very mild astigmatism that I've had for 10+ years. But because I didn't like their changes, they would let me just go back to my old prescription where I was seeing less sharply (in their opinion.) Long story short: I wasted my insurance coverage on an exam that I don't trust. I did not order contacts or make a follow-up appointment. When I said I couldn't see in the new prescription, they should have put me back up in the chair to re-check, but they were busy with another patient. I went home and made an appointment with my old eye doctor. I decided to pay 100% of the second exam fee out of pocket because at least I know I'll be able to trust the results. And now I remember why I only went here once in the 90s: I went in for contacts and gave into the hard sell to get a pair of glasses (which I never ended up wearing.) read more

I've been going to Altig for years for my glasses and contact needs and they have been great. However, I am not here to write about my past experience but my most recent one. My 8 year old somehow embedded something in his eye and the care and treatment we received from Dr Reynolds and her tech Lea were absolutely exceptional. The entire experience was very traumatic for my son (and I) and they went above and beyond to correct the issue all while truly caring for the well being of my son during the process. It has been a few months since I last went to Altig. Im still angry at what happened during almost an entire year. Started when I arrived for my 1st appt. I opened the door and the young girl at the front desk yelled at me to be sure to wear a mask. I looked around me thinking she was yelling at someone else...but no she was yelling at me. Really...yelling at the clients? FYI- I had a mask on. I should have turned around and walked out right then. I cant tell you how many visits I had over the next year. Each time I had to explain what the previous doctor did because no one documented anything in my chart. That is a huge problem. I endured the rude front office support staff and the unorganized office in general for many months more, thinking that it would get better, but no it did not. When speaking to an owner doc, multiple times, I explained what was going on and I thought she would correct the problems, but no she did not. It appears the doctors say one thing to their patients and another thing to the Opticians. There is tension all over this place. The docs contradict/scold the Opticians right in front of me and I dont appreciate being told that I dont know when I was last there and what happened. Not my fault that there is no accurate chart documentation. I dont want to argue with the Opticians, front office staff and most of all not the doc, which happened at most of my appointments. So unprofessional! I can see the office staff frustration, that goes for me too. Oh and one more thing..when I would get trials after weeks of waiting they said that I could not use the contact fitting table, you know the one with the mirror and the contact solution. I had to use the dark public bathroom. Really?? How unsanitary is that? This happened several times. One debacle after another for almost year and no suitable contacts, I called it quits. It is so easy to recognize a good and honest doctor when you've been dealing with exaggerations, embellishments and hyperboles in your diagnosis and lens prescriptions. I have been going here since I moved to North Texas 6 years ago. I started to see Dr. Cherry and when he left the practice, I started to see Dr. Patel. She is the best doctor in the practice. I feel confident with the results she gives me and she is so nice. The optical staff is awesome! Jack always helps me out and finds me the best pair of glasses each time. The front staff are very friendly and they give such positive energy when you go in there. If I move from the area, I would still make the trip to go see them. Just not a great optometrist. Friendly medical staff, mediocre optometrists, and vaguely sufficient optometry. I ended up with expensive, high-end, glasses that vaguely work; and it took a second visit to deliver optics that even improved my vision. After being told by a member of the optometric staff that "I didn't really need glasses" I knew that I had come to the wrong place. I'm willing to put down money for excellence, but I expect it. I believe this establishment will meet basic expectations, but they are not excellent. If you come here, expect to see, but not particularly well. read more

The staff were incredible and professional. The various eye testing was so thorough and efficient. I had no idea the glasses I had were so far off from what I need. They provide full service and offer great options for your eyeglasses. I am near visioned and can't see at night, so I was able to get a new technology that helps night driving tremendously. They even made some adjustments on my old frames, that I didn't purchase from them, so I could have them as a backup pair. Definitely impressed. Will tell others to use Altig. I've been here once and I'm already soo in love. This eye care center is very nice and looks very new. Everyone here is very nice. They have very nice a equipment. What really grabbed me is that me and my dad came in for an eye exam and ended up needing eye surgery the secretary was sooo helpful she helped us find a doctor who took our insurance made his appointment and sent in our paperwork.
