I called today with a sudden problem. Because I didn't have a scheduled appointment, I thought there would be a long wait, but their receptionist had me come in immediately. Within 30 minutes, I was being seen by Dr. Shemna, who was as professional and friendly as the doctor I've seen here on my regular visits. I never felt rushed, and Dr. Shemna explained everything in layman's terms for me. There appears to be little turnover in the office, so you'll see the same people each time. The prices for their glasses seem a bit high, and I've seen bigger selections in other places. The best part--you get quality and professional service for the price you pay. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my annual visits at this location! I previously went to another location, but always felt like it was insanely rushed, and like a transaction. It was my first time working with Dr. Silver, and I really enjoyed how thorough and knowledgeable. She was. My expectation when I have these visits is that these doctors will educate me and give me tips and best pack for my health and she did exactly that. I can't speak for the other doctors, but it was a great visit and will be going back to her for my following appointments! We've been going to this location for several years. Now for the past 2 or 3 years they've screwed up our orders every single time. Wrong lenses, lenses too big that cracked a frame, orders taking 3-4 times longer, missing orders etc. it may be the labs fault but they need to get it together. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Silver for over 10 years, and I even bring my husband to her as well. She has always been my favorite doctor. However, during my recent visit I didn't feel very good about the experience. First, the waiting time was quite long (over 30 minutes). Second, her staff made me feel like they wanted me to leave as soon as they realized I wasn't going to get new glasses. I came here one time and they break my glasses when I came in to get the lenses replaced to my current prescription and it takes over 2 weeks to replace them. DO NOT order glasses from this store! I made a purchase 3 weeks ago, and they asked me to upgrade it and told me, "the glasses will be lighter and thinner". I trusted them and paid extra. After it's ready, I found they were even heavier and thicker than my current one with more charge. I complained and they said to give them one more week to fix it. I went to the store today after they sent me the message "it's ready to pick up", but it's EXACTLY THE SAME as last week. If they cannot make it better, they can just call me to let me know, so I don't need to waste my time to drive 20 minutes to be there and get upset. The store manger's attitude was bad as well. BTW, the first time i ordered glasses from them, they told me I need to pay $XXX. I let them know that my co-worker has same insurance but paid much less, they double checked my insurance and cut the price to $XX. That means they have no charge stands. My family and I have been going to MyEyeDr for many, many years and my poor experience today has made me reconsider it. My son's glasses were ready and I wanted to pick them up for him to use for school this morning. I drove over there with my children to pick them up and the door was locked and the lights were off. There was no sign for hours of operation and no other sign to indicate why they are closed. Okay, that doesn't make sense I remember checking the website a couple of days before and distinctly recall they opened at 8 AM. So I double-checked by calling them and was texted a link to their hours, sure enough, it says in bold letters "Open Now - Closes at 6:00 PM" Confused I waited until somebody showed up thinking perhaps they were just running behind. I waited outside in the cold with my two kids until somebody finally opened the door at 8:45 and they told me that they were not open until 9 AM. I said their website says they are open now. But again the lady told me they open at 9 because of holiday hours. So where does it say that? Not on their website, not on a sign posted on the door, and not even their telephone answering service says it. Nobody seems to be taking responsibility here. I think the staff should have been accommodating and let me pick up his glasses since it's their issue not posting accurate hours they could have made it right instead of robotically repeating they are not open until nine. read more

One of the most rudest places, I have ever visited. I have a prescription to pickup and they close at 6:00 p, I was there at 5:58 pm and they are all in there and closed the doors. All the staff are in there and they said they won't open the doors. I have called them twice and requested saying that I pickup before their closing time. Most in professional people. read more

I was that obnoxious customer who waited until the last week of the year to try to use my vision benefits. This location of MyEyeDr was able to fit me in before the end of the year with an appointment. In the 5 days between scheduling and my actual appointment, someone hacked my bank account and credit card and I had a negative balance in my bank account. I went to my appointment and thought I would get my prescription and order glasses after I had access to my accounts again. MyEyeDr let me order glasses and pay when I picked them up. They were SO nice and accommodating, and at a time where it felt like I was helpless and everything was going wrong, MyEyeDr was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Waited over a month for my glasses which I finally cancelled after being told they were sent to the wrong lab but was given no information on when I would receive them. First experience with them was terrible. I was new to contacts (and needed hard contacts for a medical reason). No one in the office was available to properly show me how to put them in. When I asked the optometrist for help she told me that she does not work with hard contacts and brushed me aside. After this, the office never ordered new contacts for me (I had my pair for over a year). I had no idea how long I was supposed to keep the contacts as it was my first pair. No apology once I asked them what the issue was. Final straw was when I got a new pair of contacts and they gave me two days (during the week to pick them up). I had to call and request they hold them until the weekend so I could get them. The receptionist was rude about this and acted like it was a huge burden to hold the contacts. Once I picked up the contacts they didn't write which contact belonged in which eye and the information was not readily available on the patient portal. Can I leave zero stars? The optometrist is nice. But she cannot get my contact prescription correct after 3 appointments. They forgot to order my contacts. Forgot to call me when my glasses were in even though I told them I desperately needed them because I don't have contacts and they had already taken twice as long as they said it would. I filled out their client survey and expressed my initial batch of disappointments about two weeks ago and fell in deaf ears because no one had contacted me. It's been a month since my initial appointment and I still don't have contacts, and won't for a while since they allegedly just ordered them. And now I'm questioning whether my glasses prescription is even correct since my contacts seem to be so wrong. I've been going there for years on and off since it's close to work but it keeps changing names. This latest team is a disaster. read more

I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff; first on the phone, and then when I came into the office. I made an appointment by phone after calling several other offices in the area. They were able to get me in quickly. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted promptly, and cheerfully. The technician I worked with first was very professional and explained everything and offered me additional services such as a retinal photograph. I saw Dr. Silver for the actual exam. She was very pleasant and courteous. When I told her of my headaches, she offered me a suggestion that no other doctor (even headache specialist) ever offered me...over the counter supplements, not expensive prescription meds. I was very impressed by that. The whole exam took less than 1 hour, but I did not feel rushed. Once I was through with the exam, I was turned over to an associate, Megan, who helped me find the perfect pair of eyeglass frames. She was so sweet and suggestive and seemed to really care about helping me find the right style and price. Best of all, my frames came in less than 48 hours later! Now I can see, and my headaches have diminished! They seem to be steadily busy, so I would recommend making an appointment if you want to work with someone on finding frames, instead of just walking in. read more

I was out of contacts and needed an exam quickly. They were able to work me in that week so I was quite happy with that. They were a little more expensive than my previous optometrist (who was unable to work me in in an efficient manner and didn't seem interested in booking my appointment at all). I don't have eye insurance so I was hesitant to pay that much, but Dr. Fuller caught a problem with my Rx that the other optometrist made, so I suppose the extra expense was worth it. Dr. Fuller's enthusiasm about the eye and her profession is infectious. She explained what the photos of my eyes revealed, took my questions seriously, and really wanted to make sure that I was comfortable. The rest of the staff was friendly and professional. I switched my eye doctor recently because I wasn't satisfied with my previous provider. I have no complaints about this office. I can always get an appointment quickly and the staff is kind. I've been having issues with my contacts because my prescription is so high, but Dr. Shemna listens to all of my concerns and answers all of my questions. She didn't even want to order my contacts until she had my old records since I've had so many issues, which is impressive that he is being so thorough. I've been many times and will happy to continue going there. I started bringing my 5 year old too and she was great with him. They also take walk-ins, which I think is pretty neat, but I have not used. read more

I was there promptly for my appointment, not taken in for preliminary tests/questions until 30 minutes later. Got my vision prescription updated, just needed new lenses. Special features on the lenses that jacked up the prices were added to my order; I had to tell the technician tocancel the special features. Bare bone lenses were $140. Informed them to call me once they were in. Was told 5-7 business days. Almost 3.5 weeks later I called them asking if they were in yet. They'd been received 2 weeks ago-no one ever called. Of the almost 2.5 hrs I was there, I was only talking to a dr. or a staff member for probably 30 minutes. The Cary location was great until 2 different occasions involving DR. Ruhina Shemna. Had an appointment set, went to the office 5 minutes late, and was informed that she had been calling due to 2 cancellations since I did not answer so she left! How unprofessional was that?! So much for scheduling an appointment . The guy up front spoke as if it was okay and said, "well you didn't answer"... All I have to say to that was "what do the 2-cancellations have to do with me if I scheduled an appointment, and, I was just 5 minutes late which she left 15 minutes before the appointment?" Our prior appointment was somehow rescheduled to a different date and we showed up finding out and I know I did not reschedule it. After 2nd visit and with no apologies, don't go there to be seen by her. Waited for months to have my child get treatment and forced us to go somewhere better with a reasonable date. read more

This business was once awesome but since buyout by MyEyeDr service has plummeted. The Dr remain in xcellent but service has gone from bad to appalling over the last 2 years. Lens made incorrectly, records lost about prior lenses, turnaround times from labs obscene, wait times once in office ever more obscene. Prepare to sit for at least an hour with multiple interruptions while eye tech leaves, handles other problems, returns, leaves again. Staff acknowledges problems,shocking! I went in for an eye exam. Made an appointment online very easily. I didn't actually know they sold glasses until I was there, so I'd had no intentions of buying any that day. While I was dilating, they sent me back to the waiting room, which I thought was odd. I was almost immediately approached by a sales person. I tried to politely decline, but he seemed vaguely horrified that I'd intended to buy my glasses elsewhere and interrogated me about it. He asked me why I was going to buy them elsewhere, where I was going to buy them, and then tried to convince me to change my mind. I came here several months ago and been meaning to write a review. This was my first time here and everything went well during my exam. I brought in my own glasses that I paid for elsewhere, which were relatively expensive. When they replaced them with the prescription lenses, they were complete ruined. When I first bought my glasses at the retailer, they fit perfectly on my face. When the lenses were replaced, it was completely widened. I asked multiple times that they fix it but all they did was bend the end of the glasses inward to squeeze my head to stay up, which were completely uncomfortable. It was so messed up it wouldn't even lay on my ears, it was on my nose and squeezing my head behind my ears. I also came a second time, hoping I would get someone else to try to rectify the issue that they caused, just to try to do the same thing as the previous worker. I spent so much on these glasses and they are completely ruined, I cannot wear them. This was a complete waste of money. read more

Fast professional and genuine passion for the patient's well being lives here. I feel that a patient's care comes first here. Always have. I also feel frames and lenses are in the mid price range, not high end boutique prices, but certainly not big box stores' crank it out through their own Lab works, low-ball prices with limited frame selection. I guess this is a " you get what you pay for" shop, personal care, ( actually above and beyond ) decent frame selection, mostly name brand and current style, high end lenses, a folks that really stand behind their products.
