I will not be returning to this location. Dr. Singer and the male tech were great, answered all my questions, and provided excellent care. However, the office manager alone with the front office staff and receptionist, Rebecca, were rude and cold. When I asked questions, they became flustered and seemed put off, as if I was inconveniencing them. I had to point out errors in my insurance benefits, which they didn't seem to want to address. They don't appear to prioritize customer needs and seem more focused on overcharging. The common thread in negative reviews is the location, and I think that's accurate. read more

I have used this practice for at least 15 years but today they cancelled my appointment when I was literally three minutes past the ten-minute grace period because of traffic coming from my office. I called in advance to tell them about the traffic. I have been kept waiting much longer than ten minutes at this practice on numerous occasions. I will not be returning. read more

Appointment started at 3:20, at 4:30 they asked me to reschedule due to technical issues. Frustrated by an optometrist who alarmed me and required a 2 week follow up but didn't seem to record anything in his notes, I stayed polite but insistent with the person who called me to schedule this "2 week urgent appointment" out over a month. After I very politely explained that this wouldn't work so I would get this problem handled elsewhere, she literally hung up on me. DO NOT ARRIVE 10 MINUTES LATE. 9 is FINE, 10 or 11... sorry. Before I rant... Dr. Singer there is awesome. I will miss her. I am a long-time patient... was... a long-time patient. I arrived today for my appointment, thinking it was at 9:45, it was at 9:40. I was there at 9:51. I was then told that since I was more than 10 minutes late, they couldn't take me back. I asked why they couldn't make an exception, and she said the doctor was too busy. While I do understand and appreciate policies, I don't recall ever hearing that before. I've been going there for over a decade to see Dr. Singer. On MULTIPLE occasions (who I love)... during that decade, I've had to wait longer than 5-7 minutes to speak to someone at the front desk. Likewise, I've waited up to 30 minutes before being called back; and, several times, after being called back, I sit in the chair waiting for the doctor for over 10 minutes. The fact that the front desk associate didn't just say "hey, you should be aware of our 10 minute policy, but since you're 1-2 minutes past it, we will make an exception" was not only irritating, but even after I probed, she was steadfast in standing behind the policy. I've requested my electronic records. I will never come back to that office or another MyEyeDr office. There is far too much competition in the area (yes, there are still some around that they haven't bought yet!) to be treated like this after a decade of loyalty. I'm awaiting a callback from the local office Manager, but I wanted to share my experience with the public. I scheduled a routine exam at MyEyeDr for a midday visit. I did it all online through a scheduling portal that they have. It was super easy and quick to learn! This location is conveniently located off of Davis Dr. Its a busy shopping center so be prepared to search for parking. Once I arrived, I was greeted by one of the brightest smiles I'd seen in months. There was a nice smiling young lady by the name of Sherry who greeted me. If she only knew, I was a tad bit stressed because of things out of her power but her approach and welcome was so sincere that I was smiling and laughing and ready to see the doctor. The technician was Heather and she was AMAZING! She was way to cool! She notated all of my concerns during the consultation assuring me that everything would be OK. Her personality is perfect for the job and you can tell she enjoys what she does. Once Heather was done, she ushered me to the examination room where Dr. D (Dr. Bupathi Dissanayake, OD) came in to visit me. She was patient and attentive to my needs. Like Heather, she listened to all of my concerns and addressed all of them not leaving anything untouched. She was thorough and detailed in her work. I had my appointment on yesterday morning and since then I've already recommended her to 3 friends! If you are seeking a new eye care physician, give her a try! Once she was done with the examination, she directed me to the glasses case where I was paired up with Bailey and Brandi! Bailey - oh man... she was super impressive. Out of more than 3000 frames (guessing) she linked me up with a pair on her 2nd suggestion!!! She sat me down and asked a few clarifying questions then she took off and found my dream pair of glasses on her 2nd pull. I was later introduced to Brandi who was hilarious! She made several amazing suggestions that helped me make my purchase decision as well. All in all, this was by far the BEST eye care office visit I've every experienced and I look forward to actually going back to MyEyeDr (Cornerstone location)! read more

I had a great experience here today! I've been to another MyEyeDr, but the level of care at this one is unmatched. I easily made my appointment online, and my records and insurance information automatically transferred. Diamond, who did my preliminary exam, was delightful. Dr. Mak was amazing and professional, and took extra time to make sure I knew what was going on with my aging eyes. Mike gave me his honest opinion as I tried on frames, and he helped me choose a pretty, unique pair. He also made sure I got everything out of my insurance that I could. They're taking appropriate COVID19 precautions: screenings, temperature checks, masks (they give you a disposable medical mask to wear, even if you bring your own) and hand sanitizer. Prices on frames/lenses are high, but with insurance, I paid less than what I would at a big box store (including the eye exam), and the service and care were much better! read more

Came in at 10:30 am for 10:40 am appt (please note they open at 9 am this particular day) and didn't see the doc until 50 minutes past my appt time. Doc spent about 10 mins doing the exam and then I was escorted out to the floor for the remaining checkout process. Because the appt was running so late, I needed to come back and finish the checkout process (I had another appt scheduled elsewhere) - I told the lady I'd be back in a couple of hours. When I came back, the front desk lady told me that I would need to sign in on a paper form in order to be seen. That was fine with me. I asked the front desk lady how the line worked after 40 minutes of waiting and noticing 2 new patients being helped after I had signed the paper form. She informed me that the patients coming from the back had priority over anyone who came in to sign in for help without an appt. She also told me that the policy has had a lot of complaints. ...GEEZ, ya think? If you come here, don't expect to be helped right away (or if ever) unless you have an eye appt. I only got helped because I went up to the front desk to ask - I feel bad for the two other people signed in behind me. I'll be looking for another practice next year - people shouldn't have to tolerate long wait times and nonsensical policies. read more

The scheduling is very unorganized, I was told the doctors decide to change their schedules at the last minute which greatly impacts same day or next day appointments that were made weeks in advance. Made an appt for my daughter-because they canceled the one in November-my daughter was 13 minutes late and they wouldn't see her! I had even called and given them a heads up! On the one year anniversary of choosing to use Eye Care Associates here on High House Rd in Cary, and after my annual follow up visit, I can say they are worthy of the five star rating. The staff at this location have been great to me, always friendly and professional. Their system seems to work smoothly and even if things may try to throw a spanner in the works (got to love technology), they get it all on track without missing a beat. That was evident today. I appreciated the teamwork, I was out in great time, and got a complete exam with a smile and professionalism. My optometrist Dr. Gray was great and took the time in a busy schedule to point out items and look at my comparison from last exam with me, etc. From being in the allied health care field, I know that time is precious, and I appreciated it. The optical shop staff looked at my glasses, made sure that they were tightened and properly fit, and then the desk staff expedited the checkout procedure. I am pleased with my experiences here and would recommend them to those who are looking for a new eye care facility. read more

I made an appointment for this location as it was first available, I drove over an hour to come to it, called well in advance to let them know I-40 had traffic and I would be late. Appointment at 2:40, they said I had a grace period until 2:50, I informed them it would be closer to 2:55 due to traffic but I'd do my best. I get there at 2:54 and my appointment is cancelled. I beg to see if I can wait to get it done and I'd even skip looking for glasses etc. i just need the exam and get a prescription. They refuse. I called every other location in the area to see if they had anything available from cancellations, they didn't but ask why my urgency. I explained to a few locations and they said that's grossly incorrect and most locations will offer accommodations and assistance especially with advance notice. I understand I was late, but I also feel like businesses should know that with traffic, a heads up call and patience and flexibility from a customer to alter the appointment to still fit well within the allotted time frame, that they should do better about making it work. Not to mention most locations all offer 15 min grace periods not a die hard strict 10 min grace period. Especially when you're not even that busy. I won't be using this location again and honestly I will probably follow my friends suggestion and switch practices all together. read more

I had a bad experience at this location. Had my eye exam with Dr Bupathi and after few months, ordered my new glasses at Costco. After the new prescription, my right eye started hurting. MyEye Doctor refused to re-inspect to fix the Rx instead I was asked to have a complete eye exam and pay for it again. The same Doctor also messed up my wife's prescription and had to call multiple times to get the issue resolved. Office attendants never call you back to provide updates. I cannot speak more about what a wonderful experience I have every time. From the receptionist, to the team that preps before you meet your doctor, to the team after that helps you with your glasses, all amazing. I have been going here for years. I moved to Raleigh so I've gone to other locations but nothing compares. Sometimes it can be hard to get in if you have a sick appointment, but if you just let them know it's urgent they'll make a way to get you in that day if needed. They are professional and have great customer service. Now let me tell you about the best service ever. I had gone to another location for a problem with my glasses and the customer service was poor and problem left untreated. The eye doctor is friendly and knowledgeable. However, they won't check you out without going through their pushy sales people trying to sell overly priced contacts and glasses. Last year, the lady checking me out would not accept that I was not going to buy their glasses. I told her I wanted to shop around and look for the best value. She responded with, "The insurance company requires you to get your glasses with you exam." UMMMM...excuse me?!?! This year, against my better judgement, I decided to get three boxes of contacts to make use of my insurance benefit. The pushy sales woman tried several times to get me to buy more boxes even when I said no and told her I that, after an hour and a half, I needed to get home to my children who were arriving home from school. She told me I could send for a rebate after I received my contacts. Not sure if she straight up lied or just didn't understand the rules of the rebate program, but it turns out I could not file for the rebate. They have broken now a few times and they will not cover the warranty. Supposedly, the warranty is from the original purchase date. Even though I got less than a year out of the present pair. I love this location! Dr. Pridgen is so professional and thorough. I have been going to get my eyes examined at this location for years and have never been disappointed. I recently have been dealing with some issues that may not be 100% in their area of specialty but she still saw me and came up with a plan of treatment and so far it has been healed!!! The service was poor, no one was there to assist with choosing frames and the optometrist Dr Hoffman had no people skills whatsoever. Dr. Gray and his staff at the High House/Davis Dr location are the most incredibly wonderful people to work with for eye care. They're friendly, patient (which is really necessary at times with me) and know their stuff. Dr. Gray is also very receptive and knowledgeable about more than just simple eye exams. He was a lifesaver for our son while he was in college and is totally responsible for sending us in the right direction for help since he was at school out of state. Beware! Never again! My daughter visited MyEyeDr for regular annual eye exam in October, this exam is always covered by Insurance. The whole visit experience was fraught with issues. They added multiple charges to the card. On one hand they fully charged our Insurance $150 for the eye exam (plus charges us co-pay), additionally they also up-charged with additional $140 for lens exam! Plus $40 for the glasses exam. How very ridiculous! They did not offer proper explanation for up-charging or take any prior consent. When she questioned the charges they did not provide appropriate explanation. They refused to 'bill later' and asked her to pay in full, before she left premises. I visited the facility, the very next day and met with front desk agent as well as supervisor Joseph. He basically said that for the new patients they charge twice, one for eye health check-up, second for eye test. They did not provide me with any patient consent copy for all these charges, and said this was all discussed verbally! I asked them to resolve the billing issue if they did not want me to raise a dispute with Insurance. He basically said, go ahead and do whatever, this is how we bill. Multiple charges were added on the card and none of my questions were addressed, not to mention no proper explanation for the services and what they entailed. We normally visit Preston clinic and this was first time with MyEyeDr, due to need for evening appointment timing. Ended up paying 3X in charges plus tolerate the indifferent behavior. Never again! The eye exam at MyEyeDr took almost an hour and the doctor was in an extreme haste with little to no time for each patient and it felt very rushed and half-completed. My prescription was incorrectly written and service was very rude and unkind. You cannot hold patients hostage on your premises and charge whatever without proper consent. read more

After six years I am finally done with MyEyeDr. This year I spent almost $1,000 (out of pocket) on glasses and yet the service I've received has been horrible. I went in to pick up my glasses today. I checked in and then waited 25 minutes while there were almost no other customers in the store. I finally went up to the receptionist to remind her I was there and she immediately took me back to get my glasses (I guess she forgot I was there); no apology by the way. The technician took my frames and vanished for another 20 minutes. When she came back she said the person who measured my frames did it incorrectly and that the new lenses wouldn't fit in the frames properly. The person who could shave the lenses down wasn't in so I would have to come back again. She also said that they might not be able to shave the lenses in which case the lenses would have to be re-ordered from scratch. Last year we went through similar struggles. I don't have time to deal with these mistakes while being ignored by the reception staff. I'll get the lens issues worked out and then find a new eye care specialist. read more

They are all open to questions and are very honest with answers. The technicians that work with you are super patient and make suggestions based on your needs and not necessarily pushing name brands. I have been a patient of Eye Care Associates/My Eye Dr since 1990. But this was my first visit with Dr. Singer. (Previous Doc, Dr. Glover moved to Nigeria!) So I was a little wary about starting a new Dr-Patient relationship. No need, she is awesome; great blend of ocular acumen, and gentle approach. She is a Rock star, a 5 star Yelp Rock star. She fitted me for contacts and glasses, all the while she was very warm and courteous. Thank you Dr. Singer. The front of the house is not nearly as knowledgeable or as engaging as she is. This is unfortunate. I was told by an employee that my Insurance, BCBS, did not provide me with any Eye Care coverage. The next day, after several hours via phone with my carrier, I found out I do have some coverage. Enter Brandi.( I think she is the Office Manager) Brandi followed up with BCBS with information I provided, and rectified the situation. Definitely have Brandi handle your insurace needs/questions. Then I received my contacts via USPS, and my left eye was the wrong Rx. Ugh. Placed a call to the Front desk, and they had the proper Rx expidited overnight. I think they mean well, and eventually they made me whole, but it was bothersome. Also, from an Operations standpoint, it would make it easier if they grouped frame selection for Male-Female separately. Bottom line, I will continue to see Dr. Singer with confidence but make sure I monitor billing-insurance et al. I do love my new specs and the fact that I can see again! read more

The staff is wonderful and very accommodating as well as working with my insurance but it appears that they offer great solutions to those that don't have eye insurance as well! read more

Spent 500 dollars on a prescription light to dark bi -focal sunglasses that I need for my outside work. 3 months later the lenses had some sort of film or defect to them where i cant use them. Went to store and was told by their manager Nate that he has not seen this before. He then told me that they would not replace them in less 1 gave them 25 more dollars. That answer was un except-able to me and then he started talking down to me like I was the cause of this defect. I am currently in a battle with them at their customer service phone number. Have not gotten any return calls like promised. I don't recommend that store, or the immature antics of their manager when it comes to customer service. I miss Dr. Silver, but the distance made getting to the appointment a hinderance while at work. However, Dr. Pridgen is very good. My wife had an appointment yesterday at Cornerstone location. Last year she had seen Dr. Singer. It was an OK experience as compared to previous visits with Dr. Pridgen. This time she had not so good experience. She was told that Dr. Singer is available now and before doing any other check ups/photos, she would see you. That doesn't make sense. My wife waited for 15 mins. in the room before Dr. Singer showed up. She was in rush, didn't spend enough time to do proper exam. she was in and out running around between patients. Contact lenses that she pushed my wife to try, were very uncomfortable to my wife. But she kept pushing for the same, because they did not have the samples for the brand that my wife has been using. Overall, this time the experience was a deal breaker. Our family has been going to that location for years, now we will find someone else. read more
