I have been struggling with ocular migraines for over 20 years. In the past year, they have gotten so much worse. I think my neurologist is at a loss as to what else to do with me at times. Dr. Bailey had just heard about the Altius migraine contact lenses and asked if I was interested in trying them out. Of course I jumped at the opportunity, since it would be amazing not to have to rely on daily medication. I felt relief from an oncoming migraine the moment I put these contact lenses in. I have now been wearing them every time I have to go into the office or have a full day of computer usage ahead of me for about 3 weeks. I went from 3 to 5 migraines a week to MAYBE one. My husband will tell you I look odd and most people don't notice them. The ones that know me took a while to notice what changed. I've been to Carrot Eye Center a couple times now, to get updates on my eyeglass Rx, and every time they've been great. The last time I was in, they did a very through check of my eyes, and thanks to their equipment, were able to show me why I was having a slight issue in one eye when reading. Dr. Herion really seems to love his work, and it shows. He took the time to explain to me what was going on, which gave me a more complete understanding of the issue. They were also able to compare their diagnostic imagery with a prior visit, which was interesting to see. Dr. Herion's team was very efficient and knowledgeable as well, and there was very little time spent waiting. Special thanks to Mara and Braedn too, for helping me out with a question I had after the visit, despite difficulties in reaching me due to my phone having issues. I also enjoy the professionalism of Dr. Lam and all her staff. Not to mention, she's a gorgeous, intelligent and personable woman to chat with while you're getting your vision checked on. I learned a lot about my eyes that day and my options for when I decide to get Lasik done soon. I liked that her office also carries some of the luxury eyewear brands I enjoy wearing, but not overwhelming with too many options. It only took me about 5 minutes after my exam to pick my new frames for the year. A great place for your yearly eye exam for sure.
