I found my Maggie Sottero wedding dress at My White Wedding, which took me by surprise because (1) it was only my second stop on my first day of shopping for dresses, and (2) I hadn't expected to find anything in such a small boutique. My White Wedding is one of the tiniest shops I've ever been to (with the dressing area taking up nearly an eighth of the entire space) but Rebecca, the owner, has a decent selection with a trained eye for couture. My experience with her was fine, though certainly not the best. She is eager to say things like, "We do a really great job here" or "We know what we're doing" to get you on board with a sale but came off feeling pushy instead of warm. I ordered my dress in March for an October wedding, assured that it would come in by June or July, but it didn't come in until early September. The entire time, I received nary a call or any extension of reassurance from Rebecca, and anytime I called for updates, I was only told that it was on its way. Finally, when it arrived in early September, I was the one biting my nails nervously and calling to remind her that I needed to make appointments for alterations, and only then were we able to get the ball rolling. If I hadn't been on top of my game, I don't know that Rebecca would have reached out. Alterations appointments are only done on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which made things a little difficult to schedule, and since I really only had a month to get everything done, we had to really squeeze the appointments in to do at least three visits. The cost of alterations, of course, is an added charge atop the cost of the dress and I really had to haggle things down with Rebecca to bring the total amount down to fit my budget. Later, when I decided to add sleeves to the dress, there was an added cost of $179. So be aware - anything and everything you want to do with your dress will run you a pretty penny. Rebecca has partnerships with several folks, one of which is Eileen, who does all alterations. She was a true highlight of my experience with My White Wedding - sweet, patient, and expert with her work. She not only trimmed down my train extensively (a risky endeavor but my dress had a train that was too long for my taste) and made it look like it hadn't been retouched at all, but she was able to use the lace she cut out to add seamless straps after studying a picture I showed her of what I wanted. In the end, the dress turned out better than I could have dreamed. Rebecca also works with a hair and makeup artist and she tried to get me to have a trial with her during my earlier visits, but after reading some reviews on this Yelp page of her substandard work, I cancelled my appointment. If the wedding dress selection is already trimmed down, really lower your expectations for bridesmaids dresses and gowns for mothers. There are two or three racks of both, and the selection was quite poor. My mom was searching for her own dress for the wedding and quickly decided to go elsewhere because she could only find one or two that was "just okay", and both of them ran well into the three-hundred dollar mark. I feel torn about recommending My White Wedding to other brides. I loved, loved, loved my wedding dress and I adore Eileen, so I feel confident that anyone who finds a dress here will be in good hands with her, but I wasn't nearly as keen on my dealings with Rebecca, who made the experience feel cold, businesslike, and the nervousness of waiting to hear about my dress was certainly something I could have done without. If you plan on making a visit or if you've already purchased a dress here, I'd advise you to really be on top of your game so that your special gown will be ready on time. read more

I had a very good experience with My White Wedding and highly recommend Rebecca and Eileen. I happened upon this store as I called around the NYC area trying to track down a certain style. The shop is small (which I vastly preferred to other large NYC bridal stores I visited) but very well stocked for its size, and Rebecca and Eileen are total professionals. I was able to do four separate fittings and my dress fit me like a glove. They were even kind enough to alter my wedding day undergarments so that they fit perfectly underneath my gown, as well as add a belt detail that I provided. I was disappointed in how small the store was and the limited selection. The owner was trying to push me to try on a dress that was over my budget hoping that I would fall in love with it. Isn't that breaking the #1 rule of dress shopping? She also forced me to try on a dress that I knew wouldn't fit me and I had expressed that the sample size was too small. The dress almost got stuck and she was laughing so hard she was crying. This is why I think going to bigger salons like RK would be more beneficial if you want more choices. read more

I've been on yelp looking for a shop that sells bridal dresses near me. I am so fortunate I went to my white wedding because honestly I got my dress an allure dress for such a great deal! I know the ratings are low but honestly I live so near so I just decided I should just set an appointment and do a test run. Yes the store is small but I believe they have basically the crew of the crop of dresses they all look so pretty! After trying on 2 dresses surely enough the 3 dress was the winner! I can't believe it because I wasn't expecting to commit to the dress so early. The seamstress there was very professional they kept me updated with when my dress arrived, my first fitting and second fitting. After frequenting other bridal shops (Bridal Reflections for instance - HORRIBLE!!!!) and being treated like a number (especially when you tell them what your budget is) not a future bride, who is planning one of the most important days of my life, I was quite taken aback and extremely disappointed. I searched online and found a wedding dress I absolutely had to try on. No one had it except for My White Wedding, who quickly accommodated me and when I tried it on I FELL IN LOVE. This is a review from my sister Rochelle Brooks-Mighty. Her wedding was on 8-1-13. My experience with the boutique was really good! My sister-in-law ordered the dress while I worked abroad. While corresponding with them, my sis-in-law found Rebecca to be very helpful and kept her up to date with the progress of the dress while it was being made. When I came to fit, the dress fit well but needed a few adjustments, including a bustle. Rebecca worked hard to ensure that I got the dress within a day. The environment was relaxed and she talked with me throughout the fitting, making sure that I understood what the adjustments would be. I also bought my accessories from her and they were a gorgeous complement to my dress. She was spot on in her suggestions. The really good thing about this boutique is that it is reasonably priced so you don't have to worry about spending a fortune to look good on your special day. I've had nothing but good experiences with my white wedding! I had gone there twice for bridesmaids dresses, one in which the store made. I told her i'd be back if I ever got married and low and behold i was there a year later picking out my dress. I'm having a destination wedding the type of dress i could get was pretty specific and she had the perfect one. I just picked it up and it looks and fits perfectly. My mom had her Mother of the Bride dress made by them and it looks beautiful on her. I definitely recommend this place for weddings. My dress was over 1,000 cheaper here than at Kleinfeld's. I also like that when you go to the store it's only you, the owner, the seamstress and your party b/c it's apartment only. Cant wait to share pictures after the big day! read more

My Wedding was last Saturday - May 17, 2014. I purchased my Junior Bridesmaids and my mom and aunt's dresses through my white wedding and they are absolutely beautiful and reasonable price. They all arrived on time. Thanks to Rebecca :) She made everything possible for me. I also hired them to do my hair and make up for my bridal party on my wedding day! They were all on time as promised and they finished early. Everyone looked stunning and beautiful on my wedding day. It was perfect! I love the ladies at My White Wedding! I tried on over 70 dresses in NYC and in LA and I couldn't find anything affordable that I loved. I looked at RK, Designer Loft, Davids Bridal, Alfred Angelo and a bunch of other boutiques and I walked away from every appointment disappointed at the prices and the lack of customer service. Randomly one day my fiance and I were driving through Bayside and I decided on a whim to step into My White Wedding, it was the best decision! Rebecca was patient and helpful. Because of the religious nature of my wedding I had to find a dress I could build up and make modest with only 4 months until my wedding, 3 of which I wouldn't be in NY. Needless to say Rebecca helped me find a dress in my price range that would look beautiful built up and could be made in the short time frame I had available. Once the dress came in it was time to begin buildup. We had 3 weeks to give this dress sleeves, cover the back, hem the seam, bring it in... There was a lot of work to be done in a short time frame but Eileen ( the seamstress) was AMAZING. She was calm, focused, and incredibly talented. The dress was flawless, the buildup was impeccable, every seam was hidden and most importantly she listened to every request I made and worked with me to get the dress just right. Together, we created a dress that was modest and beautiful. As I mentioned earlier, I live far away from my family and I often went to these appointments alone. At first this was a big concern for me but once I began spending time with Eileen and Rebecca we became wonderful friends. They were constantly offering support and helping me with wedding decisions. I did wind up buying my wedding dress here and the gown itself I loved! However.. The customer service in this store is terrible. The owner is extremely rude and persistent. Every time I came for a fitting or to try on my dress I felt uncomfortable by something that she would say. If I could do it over again I would probably have gone somewhere else and paid more just to avoid her. She tries to overcharge but when you tell her your not having it then she'll come down in prices. Also the store is small and you can't really walk around in the dress which makes it hard to get it sized properly. read more

I went to My White Wedding after going to large bridal stores such as David's bridal and RK bridal, as well as other small boutiques. However, I found other boutiques to be overpriced and the larger bridal stores just didn't have anything unique and didn't give me best one to one consultation I hoped for. But when I went into My White Wedding, I was pleasantly surprised. Rebecca, the owner, was super helpful and the other consultant working there was as well (very different from the larger bridal stores). After describing my destination wedding venue (on the beach), dress ideas and budget, Rebecca hit the nail on the head when she chose a mermaid style Mori Lee gown that I fell in love with. The funny thing is, as soon as my sister (my MOH) saw it on the hanger, she said she immediately thought I would hate it. Then I saw it on the hanger and thought "oh no way." But needless to say, I put it on and to my surprise then I unexpectedly found the one! I didn't imagine myself in a mermaid dress and I wouldn't have chosen this on my own. Rebecca really has an eye for styling her brides and knows what she is doing! Additionally, after she told me the price and it was over my budget, she worked with me and dropped the price by $200 (which is huge considering the cost of everything in a wedding). It was that day that I ordered the dress and everything worked out smoothly. I found Rebecca to be very patient and easy to work with. They do the tailoring on site, so after my dress came in, I had about three fittings to go to. For the third fitting, I brought my MOH so she could see the dress again and understand what to do to create the bustle. Rebecca was very helpful with explaining everything to her, which of course made me feel 100x better knowing my sister knew what to do before the wedding day. I also bought most of my wedding accessories and jewelry from My White Wedding (tiara, flower hair pin, necklace, earrings, bracelet). This was a good idea because I was able to see how everything came together with the dress. I was very pleased working with Rebecca! She is the best. I first met Rebecca for my sister's wedding in 2011 where I was fitted and altered for a bridesmaid dress. Til this day people are complimenting the dress and how well it was altered to fit each girl. The dress was very modest, classy and chic. Fast forward to early 2014. I was frantic looking for a wedding dress. I went everywhere. I tried on countless wedding gowns but could not find "the one". I wanted to stand out, I did not want to look like an average, everyday bride. I wanted to break out of the "wedding mold". I began to be upset because the dresses were too plain and too expensive when suddenly it dawned on me...My White Wedding might have what I am looking for. I rushed over there on a Sunday evening with my girls as a walk in where Rebecca received us with friendly, open arms. I tried on several dresses and fell in love with each one! I could not decide which dress was the one. Now thats a good problem! Her boutique is unique because the prices are reasonable and you can find a dress that is not your average cookie cutter gown. The dress I finally chose fit me perfectly. The girl handling alterations was very experienced and had my best interest at heart. She wanted me to be as stunning as I wanted to be. The dress was altered quickly and I had the wedding of my dreams. I resembled a queen! I had to pick my groom's jaw from the floor...he loved my dress so much. I was so happy with my white wedding that I even ordered a veil and headpiece from them. Everything matched perfectly...you would have thought it was a 3 - pieced set. I received so many compliments as I danced the night away! The dress was so comfortable and spacious. It was not heavy as I was able to maneuver my way around. It was truly a unique dress. I was so happy that I asked Rebecca last minute if she could custom design a flower girl dress for me. I wanted her to be as unique as I. I sent her tons of pictures, colors, designs and ideas. Rebecca understood it all and made a gorgeous dress. The flower girl was so happy!! The mother of the flower girl was so pleased! She was in tears as she watched her daughter walk down the aisle. My wedding guests were floored. She was truly a mini bride. Rebecca is phenomenal. If you communicate with her clearly, voice your concerns and opinions, nothing will go wrong. THE ABSOLUTE WORST business i have encountered. COMPLETE NIGHTMARE dealing with rebecca!!! I wallked into this place on a sunday because the previous place i had made an appointment for, fell through. I, along with my 5 bridesmaids were in search of bridesmaid dresses. After visiting numerous bridal salons,this one just so happened to be open that day and was willing to take us as a walk in. Needless to say we found a dress to all my girls liking. Paid the deposit and was promised the dresses in several months. The owner rebecca had told me we were pretty late in ordering them but she would get them in on time with enough time for any alterations if we needed any. FYI this was ordered 8 months before my wedding day. Ordered February and wedding day in october. During that timei was in search of a wedding gown and decided to check out their selection. VERY minimal and predominately all maggie sottero that were from past seasons. After trying on numerous ones i did not find any to my liking so decided to pass on looking for one there. I found the owner to be very pushy on what styles to try on and she kept pushing her wedding packages comparing her "original" designs to those of others. VERY off putting. After declining those packages that were ridiculously overpriced, she convinced me to book her makeup artist who she claimed to be well known and she's hard to book, did an apprenticeship in japan blah blah blah. i fell for it and requested a TRIAL. When i requested a trial, she kept telling me, "oh theres no need", that shes that confident and everyone whos had their makeup done by her LOVE her. She even kept going on and on about how she wants to set me up with this artist because she likes me. what a bunch of BS. Still, i may have fallen for the trial, but was in no way booking someone without testing them out first. Set an appointment, had the trial. MY GOSH!!!! Absolutely terrible. makeup didnt even last 3 hours. My false lashes were falling off and i looked like a cakey mess. Not only that, they had the nerve to tell me that i couldnt leave with the trial makeup that her policy is to take off the makeup before i leave the trial. FOR 200$ uhhh no. left with my full do. Fiance at the time who came with me, found it to be terrible and told me im better off doing my own makeup. Moving along, several months pass and 3 months before my wedding the bridesmaid dresses come in. I go in with my girls to check them out and to OUR surprise, they were NOT the color we wanted. After complaining about it, rebecca proceeds to tell me, "oh theres nothing i can do, you ordered that color and it is what it is." ARE YOU FREAKING kidding me??! Extremely annoyed, i tell her theres no way im paying her the remaining amount for dresses that are not the correct color, she then pulls something out of her ass and shows me a cardboard of swatches and tells me what she could do is go through her chinese partner and have another dress made in the exact swatch i choose from the cardboard cutout which she assured it would be true to color. NOT to rectify the situation but to charge another 170$ on top of the previous brandname i chose. Only way she would do it was if i paid her the balance and pay for these fake dresses up front. LUDICROUS! Told her absolutely not, she either fixes this problem or its nothing. After back and forth phone conversations and emails within that 3 month time frame nothing was resolved. The 2nd to last deal she offered us was, she'll do the dresses at no charge as long as we pay the balance. That was left on my voicemail along with an email. Since I nor my husband (now) like making any transactions over the phone we drove from manhattan to bayside to speak face to face. When we showed up she was caught off guard, and then changes her story to her conditions are if we go with her people for alterations she'll do it. NOWHERE in that email or phone voicemail did she say any of that. Annoyed yet again for wasting our time we walked out and that was the last straw. The last email correspondence, she said she would give back 56$ and we can call it even after we had sent her a certified letter stating we would take her to small claims court. So the amount we paid for each dress she gave us a price quote of 210$ for FIVE girls. And she tells me that 56$ reimbursed, she'd break even????! HUGE markup??? After all that, didn't have much time, so we decided to go to RK bridal where we were guaranteed delivery BEFORE the wedding . we received the dresses 2 weeks before my wedding which was actually by the same brand we previously ordered with rebecca, and not only that, for 130$ per dress!! Saved by RK bridal! If i could give this shop NO stars i would in a heartbeat. BRIDES BEWARE!!!! ***This woman will try and get you for every penny and BS her way. I would have reported her to the better business bureau but not to my surprise she is not registered. I wonder why. read more

I visited My White Wedding one month and four days before my wedding date and can I just say up front that MWW was my lifesaver. If I can argue that the bride's wedding gown is one of the most important part of the entire wedding and the most important thing for the bride on her wedding day, I was quite stupid to first entrust this task to Jasmine's Bridal Shop for a custom made dress (review to come separately). You can guess that didn't go quite as planned. Likely a combination of my own fault and theirs, I needed a dress fast. I was too lazy to visit my local boutiques in the first place so a quick advice to all brides, go to Kleinfeld and Saks and sample sales, but don't overlook these smaller boutiques if you're keeping your budget in mind. MWW is a small shop so don't expect Kleinfeld here, but Rebecca is chill and will give you the time you need. I found my dream dress almost immediately as I knew what I wanted and saw it right in front of me. This also means it could be a hit or miss. Rebecca does her job quite well so I bought the dress within the hour. You can buy or rent (some) dresses but the price weren't that much different. Since I needed the dress fast and there was no time to order, I bought the sample which was in mint / new condition. After 2 or 3 fittings, the dress fit me close to perfect except I kept on losing weight. Rebecca offered to help me even the day before my big day but this was when my mother came in and finished the job. My mom is a professional tailor with a shop in Staten Island, and to be honest, she did a better job than MWW's tailor. Note to all brides, make the waist area as tight as possible and the dress won't fall even you leave some breathing room up top (mine was strapless and heavy). MWW's tailor didn't quite get that. But overall, I am very happy with my dress and my experience at MWW. I have no idea what brand my dress was because it wasn't labeled but it doesn't matter. MWW made it happen and I would recommend giving them a shot. read more

I found My White Wedding my simply searching for bridal places in Queens and trusting the good reviews. I personally had a great experience with Rebecca. Her boutique is small but elegant and she was very friendly. When my dress came in, she worked hard to get everything done in those 4 weeks. I don't know how she did it with all that lace, but it was perfect for the wedding day. The only thing I had a slight issue with was the veil. They were very expensive in the boutique and even though she tried to work with my budget, it was still too much. I found a perfect one on Etsy. But that's more about knowing your budget and sticking to it than a fault of the boutique. Overall, great experience; I would send my friends there. read more

Rebecca is a sweet heart and she was always available and in close contact with me. I ordered a custom dress for my dance reception and I received several complements. They replicated my design of the dress well. She is understanding and flexible and let me make payments on the dress. My only complaint is that I feel that the prices are high but then again it's New York and I am so use to my TX prices. I definitely will be a returning customer. read more
