I had never had a massage before going to Myesha at My Time for Massage. A friend bought me a Groupon as a gift and I thought it would be a one time experience, little did I know how knowledgable and kind Myesha would be. It was my first year as a teacher and I was very stressed out when I first started getting massages from her in January of 2015. I was blown away with how much she cared about me as a patient, really taking the time to understand my lifestyle and how she and I can work together to improve my stress levels and overall tension. Not only did she give an amazing and relaxing massage, she provided me with tons of at home stretches and remedies I could do to further improve my range of motion and tension. She helped me understand why I was experiencing pain in certain parts of my body and what needs to be done to help. This was all in the first few visits. I really saw improvement and even started making my friends with similar issues stretch with me, showing them how much it helped. As I have continued to go to Myesha regularly I have felt tremendous improvement in stress levels, tension, and ability to sleep more soundly. Myesha is unique in that she truly treats each client on an individual basis, getting to know a person's lifestyle and personality, personalizing her massage around individual needs. It is obvious how much she cares about her clients, treating them with nothing but respect and understanding. This is also true of her new therapist, Lauren, who I have had the opportunity of being massaged by a few times now. Lauren is also very thoughtful in her massage treatment. She did a wonderful job helping me work through some leg pain I was experiencing after playing soccer. Both Myesha and Lauren have explained how my body type and activity contribute to the pain and tension I have been feeling, which has been very helpful and informative. In addition to the fact that these women are excellent and professional massage therapists, they are also the most caring and personable people. I feel lucky to have the privilege to meet and interact with such wonderful individuals. I trust them completely with my treatment and look forward to seeing them at every appointment I schedule. I really do feel like I have hit the jackpot having Myesha as my first massage therapist, because I didn't need to look any further. Going to her has become the one thing I do completely for myself, something I needed more than I realized. I feel like a much healthier and happier person since going to My Time For Massage. I always know I will leave my appointment relaxed and in a wonderful, positive mood, all thanks to Myesha. I am saddened to see the negative reviews posted about Myesha, as they are a disrespectful and malicious. It is obvious to me that they are in bad taste and in my opinion, should not be taken into consideration. Please know that I have had nothing but positive interactions with Myesha and know that this will be the case every time I have an appointment. I had an Amazon Local voucher for a 60 minute massage. I made my appointment, and specified that I was looking for a simple, light touch relaxation massage. When I arrived for my appointment, she handed me a two page form to fill out, which asked all kinds of personal information questions, including extensive medical questions. I decline to fill out any of it, as I was not there to receive medical treatment, I have no illnesses that would be affected by a light touch relaxation massage, the massage was paid in full up front, so there was no reason for her to have any of my personal contact information, and it wasn't being submitted to insurance, so, again, no reason for medical or personal information. Upon seeing I declined to hand over all of that private information, she immediately told me she couldn't give me a massage unless I had fully filled out my contact and medical information. I reminded her that I wasn't there for any sort of medical treatment or medical massage - I was there for a light touch relaxation massage. She again refused and said I should "just contact Groupon for a refund." I was very upset, as I had scheduled this, spent my time traveling to her office, only to have her refuse because I wouldn't give her private information she didn't need in the first place. She insisted that she needed all of my personal information for "her privacy", which makes exactly no sense. I reiterated that she didn't need my medical information, which she responded to with "I'm not asking for medical information!". I looked at her incredulously and said, "Yes, yes you are! Your whole form is asking about personal medical information." She said "Well, I need it." At that point, I was through. She was rude, she made no sense (having *my* personal information doesn't protect *her* privacy), and she refused to honour the appointment because I wouldn't give her information she had no legal right to have, nor did she have any business reason to have based on the service that was requested. I've gone to so many masseuses in the past, always feeling like my knots still left me... well, in knots. Myesha, on the other hand, legitimately changed my body and my whole perspective on the health of my muscles! I purchased a Groupon for her, and I stood up from the table 90 minutes after my start time feeling like I walked into a new body: a lighter, looser, younger one. All of the emotional and physical weights lifted from me, I stood taller, slept better, and just had an overall better attitude during the rest of the week. I knew I had to come back regularly to maintain my body, and I've since seen her every few weeks Myesha is something of a sorceress. She somehow ALWAYS knows what has been going on in your life after massaging your body. She's part miracle-worker, part masseuse, part therapist. One of the things I love about her is her ability to be honest and upfront. Myesha is dedicated to your long-term health, and she'll give you suggestions outside of just coming for a normal massage. Heed her advice -- she knows what she's talking about!!! Not only will she leave you feeling like a whole new you after one session, but she'll also teach you how to maintain your body outside of visits. I incorporate so many of her techniques on a daily basis, but nothing compares to her touch. (I mean, she has gone to practically every class to enhance her own massage education.) My partner also went to her once. He's a huge, muscular dude that works out like a fiend. He's always sore, and he isn't much of a talker. I mention this, because Myesha was able to cater to both of our diverse needs and communication styles effortlessly. She genuinely cares about the comfort and care of her customers. I will say that the location of the massage room isn't super glamorous. If you're looking for a "resort spa experience," go elsewhere. However, you will, hands down, not get the quality massage that you would if you booked with Myesha. If you're still with me at this point, book now. You won't regret it. AND ASK FOR A FACE MASSAGE! I have never had another massage experience like that which I recieve from Myesha. This an energetic and lively massage. I have always been a tense person and have experienced chronic backpain since childhood. When my partner first booked a session for me with Myesha, I was going through a particularly stressful time. She told me I was one of the most tense people she had ever met! She encouraged me to let her dig deep to help me work through that tension, though it was not easy at first, to work through it or to let go of it. I had so much confidence in her tenacity, my partner and I decided to get the big package and both commit to seeing her regularly, to help undo years of stress and trauma, physical and otherwise. I've been seeing her every 2 to 3 weeks for 4 months now. Together we've reached the point where for the first time in my adult life, I'm not in constant pain. Not only has she worked through my back and shoulder pain, but I was also experiencing excruciating incessant foot pain for the past year or so, after over decade of manual labor on my feet, probably plantar fasciitis, and we have made huge progress with that. I honestly feel like a new person. I never thought I'd ever be a person who didn't hurt all the time. I sleep better and have more energy, and am not so stressed out about life in general. I think I'm in a better mood all around, and with good reason. My partner and I try took book our appointments on the same day when possible, and I feel like we are so much more in sync with one another now. I think our work with Myesha has had a direct positive effect on our relationship. Not only is Myesha a strong, competent, and thorough massage therapist, she is also a delightful person, bursting with spirit and personality. I feel like we've gotten to know each other pretty well, we talk about our families and personal lives, and I genuinely appreciate the closeness and trust that's been built between us. I bought a Groupon for My Time for Massage a few months ago, in a desperate attempt to fix my right upper back/shoulder. I had injured it back in December, and after several months of PT with no results, I was ready to try something different. After just one massage, I knew I needed a few more; Myesha had managed to loosen some knots and worked at muscles no one has ever bothered with before in a massage. She didn't oversell me on her package deals; in fact, she suggested I start out with the smallest one she offers (5 massages), as I am new to massage therapy. Within JUST THREE massages, I was pain free! Myesha provides great pressure, really focuses on the area, as well as other tight muscles that were affecting the problem area. She uses hot towels to warm up problem areas, and anti-inflammatory oils, always asking what scent you prefer that day. Every time, I left feeling ten times better and refreshed. She even gave me some stretching tips and recommendations for some massage tools to help while at home. Myesha is a lovely person, who cares about you recovering from injury and feeling better, as well as women empowerment. It was great getting to know her. A few times she was a few minutes late for my massage due to traffic. She always let me know, made up for the time that day if possible, or added it to other massages. She even gave me a couple free infrared sauna sessions, which definitely helped loosen my muscles before the massage, and stretched out the effects of the massage for a few more days. I'm sad that my sessions are all used up, and will be checking back in with her in the fall when she gets insurance billing set up. Her place is small, just enough room for the massage bed in an ActivSpace place in Fremont. Nothing fancy, but it's quite adequate. The room is tastefully decorated, and there is always ambient noise and music on to help drown out the outside sounds. Myesha is truly special. I found her through groupon (where she has excellent reviews). She is so compassionate and has a great sense of humor. I hate going for a massage and feeling that awkwardness of not connecting with the person that is physically connecting with your body. With Myesha, I felt that I had come to see an old friend. She is also extremely intuitive. She was one step ahead of me the whole time in recognizing what areas of my body needed her attention. As soon as I walking into the door, she told me that my entire left side was elevated and that she was going to take care of that. Let me tell you, take care of that she did, and more. I left feeling relaxed and invigorated at the same time. I would like to add that she is not your typical massage therapist. She is extremely strong both physically and in character, and is very focused on empowering women. She voiced interest in starting up a women's empowerment group in the furture, which I am looking forward to! This is one hardworking woman whose love for helping others shines through her work. I have already signed up for three more massages. PS: I am so surprised that someone wrote a bad review on Myesha. I was intrigued and read it. This person did not even receive a masssge from Myesha. Clearly Myesha is too strong a woman and has too much self respect (and healthy business I might add) to allow herself to be bullied by this person. Myesha, good for you, girl. Keep it up. Myesha gave me the best massage I've had in my life! As an expecting mother I, like many other moms, directed all of my focus to bringing my baby earth side, ultimately losing sight of preparing my own body for the journey. I am more than halfway through my pregnancy and decided to take the necessary steps to adequately begin preparing my mind, body, and spirit for a successful birthing experience. Myesha's attention to detail is unparalleled! She is very knowledgeable and embraces a holistic approach to healing and self-care. Prior to beginning, we discussed body aches, areas of concern, and she even outlined her technique which made me very comfortable. I arrived with neck muscle spasms, shoulder, and back issues and discovered sciatic muscle tension. Her technique and deep tissue massage made all the difference. She adjusted various parts of my body, stretched, and massaged based on the need. The hot towels were very relaxing as well as the lilac infused oil used. I have had "spa" experiences and previous massages, but none of them applied enough pressure- leaving me with 36 years of tension throughout my body. However, the experience at My Time for Massage was therapeutic and provided lasting results throughout my entire body and even alleviated pelvic pressure from my growing baby. When I first booked an appointment with Myesha I was at a very low point in my life. Not only was I experiencing extreme tension in my lower back and shoulders (causing my discomfort throughout the day every day) but also was struggling with mental health issues. I texted Myesha to schedule our first appointment and she let me know her first availability was four weeks out. The very next day she texted me letting me know there had been a last minute cancellation for the week and asked if I wanted to move up my scheduled massage. Of course I did. I really appreciated that even as a new client that she didnt personally know she still took the thought, time and effort to let me know when there was a newer space available. After attending my first session with Myesha I had felt the biggest relief in tension in my body that I had in months. I ended up booking for a package to see her every month to two months and as I have been returning to her I can feel my body receiving the massages better and better and that my chronic pain has almost completely disappeared. Not to mention my mental health issues have become much more manageable since beginning with her. Myesha is a super skilled, knowledgable, and friendly massage therapist. I have a lot of chronic spinal injuries and pain related to them along with hips that like to fall out of alignment regularly. Myesha's deep tissue massage is no joke. I've only had one other therapist whose strength compares, and it was the last one I frequented regularly before he moved. I felt so amazing after my 90 minute massage. I'll admit that there was a little bit of pain and mild bruising (I bruise easy) during some of the massage, but I know from experience with multiple massage therapists over the course of many years, that it's well worth a little pain for the jello-like result you feel in your muscles after the massage ends. I'm sure Myesha would make it less deep if you prefer, as she's a very nice and accommodating person, who regularly uses and appreciates direct communication throughout the massage experience. I wanted her to go as deep as I could tolerate, because that gives me the best pain management results longterm. Sadly, I moved out of state not long after receiving this massage. Otherwise, I would absolutely be going to Myesha on the regular. read more

Do NOT purchase a GROUPON for this! I don't know if Myesha is a good massage therapist or not, but I had such a TERRIBLE experience trying to schedule the 90 minute massage I purchased for her services through Groupon that I wouldn't want her to touch me. It took her almost a month to get me scheduled. I made multiple communication attempts and offered many options for times that her website said she would be open. After weeks of this, she eventually found a time she could fit me in that was 2 months away. She told me that she only uses Groupon to get "regular" clients. Since, she didn't think I would be a "regular" because or our schedules, I wasn't worth her time. She suggested I refund the Groupon. I decided to use it anyway for the one time massage and asked to keep my booking. Then she responded that the Groupon would be expired then (even though she still has the same offer running on Groupon) and it would now cost me another $66 dollars to keep my booking and receive the same service. A few months ago I bought a massage voucher on Groupon for a 1 hour massage by Myesha. I was nervous at first since I had been seeing the same massage therapist for years until she ended up moving. My first experience at My Time For Massage was great. Her studio is located in the Active Space building in Fremont. Myesha was extremely professional and made sure to ask me all proper questions before giving me my massage. I told her about my back issues due to my job (I'm a Hairstylist) and how it's been effecting my overall well being. She made sure to address every area and even gave me advice on how I could improve posture and back problems at home. Since then I have been seeing Myesha once a month for my routine massage and my body has never felt better. Myesha is a lovely, professional and talented woman. I started seeing Myesha for deep tissue massages in January after my fiance gave me a My Time for Massage Groupon voucher. I've had massages at a number of different places before, and Myesha is by far the best therapist I have had! I work in retail where I do quite a bit of heavy lifting, and seeing Myesha twice a month for massages has been essential in maintaining my physical health and well-being. At my first appointment we discussed areas that I wanted to focus on, and Myesha has since used a combination of deep tissue massage, stretching, and hot towels to target those areas and reduce tension and pain. Myesha is professional and thoughtful with her massage techniques and always reminds me to hydrate and stretch between appointments. I also highly recommend occasionally adding on a Detox to your massages - I've done it twice now and the heat really loosens up my entire body before the massage, allowing for both a more effective massage and longer lasting results! read more

I have had a decent amount of massages over the years and I can honestly say that Myesha is the best. She has a swedish/deep tissue approach which I love since it is the only way to relieve muscle tension. I believe that a massage should help relieve stress but also better your body- Mysesha achieves both. She is a sweet caring person who honestly cares for her clients. After reading these other reviews, maybe the clients did not understand where she is coming from. Of course a masseuse is going to ask about water since a massage will leave you dehydrated. Of course she will ask when your last massage was since she wants to know your problem areas and if receive massages often. I have seen many massage therapists who will do 'relaxation' massages that leave my muscles just as tight as before I came in. Myesha has an amazing technique and does a great job. Look no further, Myesha does great work! Scheduled 2 60 min massages on the same day for my girlfriend and I. She was very accommodating. Questionnaire was easy to fill out and to the point. Room was quiet and cozy and music was soothing. Be upfront with what you expect from your service and she will provide it. She is very capable of going deep so be prepared! All of her motions felt calculated and professional, she worked out tightness that other therapists haven't even been able to find! Left feeling great. She spent 3 hours overall with my girlfriend and I even though we only paid for 2. Lots of good advice and personalized recommendations. I was curious about the bad reviews so I read through them and it is hard to understand how people could have these experiences. Some people just suck. Myesha is an incredibly intuitive and talented massage therapist. She works with the goal of getting your body BETTER, so don't expected a bunch of relaxation. Bodies are not symmetrical, and neither is tension, so she may not do the same strokes on both sides. What she WILL do is break apart old spots of stuck-ness and reintroduce movement that has been missing. After my first session, I could feel a difference in my back and neck, as could my chiropractor. After my second session, I could feel movement in my sacrum--those joints have been stuck for YEARS, despite seeing many massage therapists and lots of deep work. There was a level of relaxation in my feet that I didn't know was possible. Seriously, Myesha is MAGIC. And she does NOT mess around...drink TONS of water and use ice if you feel any soreness. I am a regular customer of Myesha. I found her through Groupon and I'm happy to say I now get massages every few weeks. Her massages give me life! All the tension and the stress from life ends up in my shoulders and my legs are usually sore from yoga. But, she knows what she's doing and makes me feel much better after every session. I've had no trouble scheduling appointments, and I know it's my responsibility to show up on time or to cancel more than 48 hours beforehand. Myesha is very professional but with a personal touch that I really appreciate. We have great discussions during our sessions; from the very first visit it's been like talking with an old friend. To make a long story short Myesha is nothing short of AMAZING! I came to her one day after I went to get a horrible stiffness worked out of my neck at another place of business I had been going to on and off for a while. When I left the other place my neck was still tight and completely messed up. I was scared and unsure if anyone could fix it. I was referred to Myesha and she had so much confidence that she could get me feeling better and my neck back to it's original state. After she was done my neck felt so much better but so did the rest of my entire body. She has magic hands and is so knowledgeable about caring for your body. I would recommend her to anyone!!!
