Originally from Philly, I moved out to Seattle in September of 2013, staying until August of this year. Coming from a city that is twice the size of Seattle, Philly naturally has a greater selection/availability of services, business, world class medical care (with Ivy League trained medical providers) and restaurants (an East Coaster's biggest dilema is finding QUALITY Italian food, not chains such as Olive Garden or Buca Di Beppo). As such, it was very difficult to find any of the above whose quality was equal to or greater than that of what I could find back home. Until I met Myesha. Like many, I also heard about Myesha and My Time for Massage on Groupon, and have had multiple massages to date. I would still give her 5 stars. I had lots of tension in my back due to sitting at a desk all day, and Myesha is the only massage therapist I've encountered in Seattle that understands what I mean when I say that I need deep tissue work. Even back home in Philly, I had difficulty finding someone that really gave me the deep tissue work I needed. If I ever find myself back in Seattle, I would definitely squeeze time for a massage with Myesha. Myesha also has an infrared detox machine that is great to use before a massage. It took me to another level of relaxation, before I even had the actual massage! In addition to giving great massages, I found Myesha very warm, friendly, approachable, and a great conversationalist. Myesha truly has a gift! I am so grateful to have met her and she has really changed the way that I view not only condition of my body, but my overall self care regime. I will provide details. I am in the process of my 5 package deal with Myesha, which is very affordable considering her service and expertise. I come in, most times, very tense. I am student, working on campus, and have a lot of responsibilities. Through Myesha working on my body, she really has equipped me with the tools to recognize that I carry a lot of stress, and the pressure points on my body where I carry that stress. When I leave sessions with her, I have an awareness of these pressure areas and I am more mindful of how to stretch and relieve that tension. As a result of working with Myesha, I stretch waaaaay more often than I was before. I take yoga classes, as well as staying active in the gym to continue to get the exercise that I need. Like I mentioned before, its not just about the massages with Myesha. She encourages me to take care of my WHOLE self, and being attentive to what is bringing me stress. She is one of very few Black women massage therapists in Seattle, and she really takes her craft seriously. She is not selling you on a service. In working with Myesha, you have to be dedicated to getting the results that you want to see, and for me I know that is taking care of myself, more intentional stretching, exercising, as well as meditating and creating boundaries in my work/school life. Myesha really pushes you to be your best you, and it starts with caring and being attentive to your body. I have about 2.5 sessions left with Myesha, and everytime I come out of her office I feel lighter, stretched out, and she informs me of what type of stretches that I can do throughout the week to help maintain the results and long term. Not only do I fully recommend her services, but I would say that she is the most skilled, knowledgeable and caring massage therapist there is. I received a Groupon voucher for a massage as a birthday gift, and I was not disappointed. Myeshsa uses a Swedish/deep tissue/stretching combination approach to her massages. For my musculoskeletal complaint, I would ask for focused deep tissue therapy for future sessions, but she gives a good full-body massage. If you're looking for a massage that will leave you feeling stretched and detoxed, this might be perfect for you. The previous appointment was a sauna massage, so the room was rather warm during my appointment. I left relaxed, sweaty, and with skin slick with massage oils. I would characterize the massage as a hybrid of techniques, punctuated by more aggressive deep tissue maneuvers to address muscle tension - so if you're looking for a relaxing, gentle massage, you may want to specifically ask for a Swedish massage. Myesha is very friendly and enjoys making conversations with willing clients during massage. Building a relationship with her clients seems important to her. She seemed very knowledgeable and intent on educating her clients on self-care. Her background in medical billing also gives her some expertise in healthcare administration/insurance. Be patient with calling/scheduling - she will get back to you promptly, but she works as her own receptionist and may not pick up while she is in session. Note that her office is located on the 2nd floor of the office building, so you may want to ask for the code to gain access to the building in advance (otherwise, she may be in session when you call). I had a first-time appointment with Myesha at her Shoreline location. I showed up on time, but she wasn't there. Upon calling her she said that her computer scheduler failed. Okay... I might understand. I rescheduled for exactly one week later and again arrived exactly on time. She wasn't there. I called and she said that she had "forgotten." Myesha may be a terrific masseuse, but she is a lousy business woman and customer service rep. ....fool me twice, shame on me. read more

Myesha is really good to work with. She specializes in deep tissue massage. She will take the time to read your body by feeling out areas that need more work and focus on that. Her sessions include feedback and suggestions for improvement. Even at the end of a long day, she is still able to maintain a high level of energy and attention to the needs of her client. I was super nervous about going to this place as it looks like there was a mix up with the address but in fact they have two locations. Cool. The owner ended up doing my massage and she made the experience more relaxing as she chatted during the massage to tell you what she was doing and why. I got a Groupon deal so it started with my hands being dipped in paraffin wax and wrapped. I then laid down and she worked on my shoulders for a bit and arms as she took the wax off. She was able to work out a lot of tension I know i hold in my shoulders so the soreness that came the next day was actually relaxing. After the massage she gave me a mini facial and used a lot of hot towels. It was all very relaxing. She used a lot of coconut oils, she mentioned a seasonal smelling something, rose oil or water, and lavendar. All the smells helped enhance the experience and deepen the relaxation. I posted a poor review of this service earlier. Myesha responded to my critique and in retrospect I believe she is right, although she can be kind of harsh sounding in her directions she is an excellent masseuse and if I could afford it I would, indeed, see her on a regular basis. My response was, in part, my personal feelings of inadequacy in not being able to do more for my health. Myesha is, indeed, an excellent health practitioner. I received a groupon for Christmas and had a very therapeutic massage with Myesha. I have two old injuries that have troubled me on and off for years. She focused on these problem areas, was receptive to requests to ease up or apply more pressure, and even showed me some new stretches to do at home. She was thorough and didn't make me feel rushed. I would love to make massage a more regular occurrence in my life. Can't really swing it now, but I am so appreciative to Myesha for the great experience. I waited until a few hours after my encounter with Myesha so that I can write this with more of a cool head. First I have to say, if you read the reviews for My Time - most of them are great but there are definitely a few sprinkled in there where it is obvious that Myesha has awful customer service skills. Trust the few in this case. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, or maybe our encounter would have been the same no matter what. But either way I left today after Myesha refused to give me a massage that I had purchased a Groupon for. I left severely agitated at the confrontation I had just got into with the woman who was supposed to have provided a relaxing service like a massage. I left completely in shock at what a nasty encounter I just had. So here is what happened: I walked out of the elevator to the second floor and saw a woman hanging outside, turns out it was Myesha waiting on a client to change in the room. (Disclaimer- she rents out a small room in a large facility. There are not multiple rooms or a waiting room. The one room is small and without air conditioning. There is no ambiance, and no chairs to wait in when you are out in the hall.) Our first interaction was just fine. She let me in the bathroom and gave me some paperwork to fill out while waiting for my appointment. When I got back and she was ready, I opened the door I started to walk in the room and was immediately greeted with intense heat. She said she had just done a sauna appointment and was trying to cool the room down with the open windows. It was 85 degrees out today at 3pm. The room was not cooling off. It felt disgustingly hot in there. I was very distressed by this because I am extremely claustrophobic in really warm places. Walking in there felt like I was being trapped in a box. I backed out of the room and said I'm not sure I can do this. I was clearly panicking- but She seems surprised by that and said she was trying to get the air out. I went back out in the hall way to attempt to wait a bit longer, and she joined me and grabbed my paperwork to go over it. Her first question was when was the last time I had a massage. It took me a while because I maybe splurge on one every one to two years. She said "obviously it has been a while. It's recommended to get a massage once a month." I explained I can't afford a massage more than a treat every once in a while. Then she asked how many glasses of water I drank today. I said probably a couple. She looked at me in disgust and said well it's recommended to have 8-12 glasses a day. I wasn't even sure what was going on at that point. Why was I get chastised for not getting massages often enough and not drinking enough water? I understand when she said she didn't want me to get dehydrated and I said well if you had sent an email to prepare for the appointment by drinking water, I would have. I said it felt like she was scolding me for not drinking enough and I'm not sure what is going on This started our downward spiral where she said maybe we shouldn't do the massage because of how I was coming off. I explained it was stressful because when I walked into the unbearably hot room all I can think is how hard it was for me to get time off of work to come here, and now I'm supposed to find time to reschedule, and I'm leaving Seattle in a month... All these things were going on in my head. The conversation went on for a few minutes and I was trying hard to just let it go and see if I could calm down to get the massage. I tried to repair the conversation at this point (to appease her somehow so we can just get the massage over with) As she offered me water (which I accepted since she was so irritated with my lack of water drinking) I tried telling her what I was thinking- that I was trying to figure out if we could reschedule or if I could just adjust to the heat in the room. She said she didn't want to do the massage now, she can't reschedule because she is going out of town and I should call groupon for a refund. That was it. We were done. No regard for me taking time off of work, no attempt to apologize for our interaction, nothing. I was completely flabbergasted at how rude she was being. I was somehow getting into a confrontation with the person who was supposed to give me a relaxing massage and she then refused me service. When I said fine and left to get in the elevator she followed me around the corner to continue arguing with me. LIKE LITERALLY THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND AWFUL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I completely support small businesses and applaud Myesha for going into business by herself. But what was supposed to be a relaxing and well earned massage turned into an experience from hell. You can buy the groupon or pay her regular prices and take a chance, but know that you are risking pissing her off somehow and who knows how bad the interaction will get. Eek, is right. I found this place on Groupon (which I recommend they take down). My boyfriends birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him a morning massage while I work. It was a good deal and in the area. I called and spoke with a woman named Myesha. She was really nice and inviting; other than the fact that I repeatedly told her I wished to purchased the deal through groupon and send the gift via email to my boyfriend. She insisted that I do it over the phone with her. Finally, I just gave up and did it over the phone (credit card etc). Then, she took advantage of my children making a ton of noise in the background and says she would like me to come in and she'd love to meet me (in a business woman type of manner) She was prompt on sending me a receipt to my email. Not sure if my boyfriend ever got his gift email. She sounded a little young and unprofessional, so I decided to do a little back research. I sort of assumed Groupon wouldn't allow mediocre services on their website. Upon my search, I noticed she had only one good yelp review and one bad one. So, I emailed her with a few questions/concerns. I told her that I had seen a customer mention that she was really talkative, insulted her, invasive etc... So, I let her know that my boyfriend needed the total opposite. He is a hard working man and I would like for him to be relaxed. I then received a phone call from Myesha saying how she has never had anyone email her something like that "I just looked over your yelp reviews and noticed that you have 1 good one and 1 bad one... Also, is this a studio apartment? I couldn't really get pictures. I kind of assumed it was a clinic. Although, I support small business'. My boyfriend owns one. I just want to make sure it is worth it. Time more so than money. The lady mentioned you were trying to joke around, May have insulted her, it was really loud... He needs the complete opposite. " She told me that I shouldn't judge her over one review (Which I didn't, even though this is the only accessible review) She told me that if I was uncomfortable, I could get a full refund and find another place. I got quiet, sort of appalled with the way she was talking AT me. So, she tells me that she is just going to go ahead and refund me since I got quiet and continued her rant on why I shouldn't judge her off of one review. I told her that I didn't make a firm decision on one review, just wanted to make sure that my boyfriend had the best possible experience for his birthday. The reason I got quiet is how she talked at me! So, I went ahead and requested a refund. I'm not at all sure the service, because I didn't have a chance to get that far. I just know that she has a serious attitude... I definitely wouldn't want someone like that massaging me or anyone that I care for. I will be looking for a more suitable place to send my boyfriend. Sucks that it had to be a small business. We really support those. I even tipped her $5 before seeing the place or receiving service! Maybe, she was having a bad day.. But I am a pretty good judge of character. Looks as if I am not the only one. Her comment displays the perfect example of the type of treatment I was given (She deleted the comment and changed it to "Sorry. Best of luck") Before it was a ramble on how my boyfriend would agree that all money isn't good money and that I shouldn't say I value time over money while searching for deals online, etc. Just a smart mouthed woman, who clearly doesn't value customer service. She should probably touch up on some manners classes, along with taking notes from succeeding small business' on how to properly treat customers. A person so quick to anger has no business serving the public. I look forward to watching her company slowly burn to the ground (metaphorically speaking). Groupon is where people go to find deals on fun things around their area. What I found was no deal. Instead, a loud mouthed grease trap. Hopefully no one wastes a second even entertaining the thought of her company's poorly tossed together existence. As for Groupon, lesson learned. Research first and you won't end up paying for back-page service. My husband and I live in Cali but have family here in Seattle so we visit often. I was in need of a stress relieving massage. I've been seeing Myesha for over a year. She gives a great deep tissue massage. I work out several times a week and need weekly massages. I found her through groupon and I prefer to support local businesses so it was great that she was so close to me (fremont). I was not expecting a huge spa or space. I was looking for an excellent massage and someone who knew how to give deep tissue massage and this is what I found. I have no problem with the space and was very comfortable with Myesha. She is always accommodating with music and my needs. My husband recently started to see her also. He has major back issues. He really looks forward to his weekly massages!! If you are looking for a light, relaxation massage, Myeasha is not for you. But if you are looking for a skilled, deep tissue massage therapist who will find all your problem areas and actually help relieve pain and tension, I highly recommend Myeasha at My Time for Massage. My body was very very tense from years of marathon training, and slowly Myeasha has helped loosen up my calves, hamstrings, and feet. She re-asses your body every session and works based on the tension she is feeling. It is hard to find a massage therapist that will actually do true deep tissue massage, but Myeasha does it. She's like your foam roller, but WAY better. I have been getting fairly regular massage from Myesha and her new business partner Lauren for several months now and I have to say that they have exceeded all of my expectations in every manner. The deep tissue massages they both give is incredible. I prefer to support small businesses, so to me, visiting My Time For Massage is a lot more of a personal, intimate experience than visiting chain massage therapy place. They want to get to know you so that they can provide great holistic body healing, versus just a once and done massage like you get elsewhere. Myesha has helped me work on stretching out areas of my body that I didn't even realize were tight, and I can stand and walk around for much longer than I used to without getting pain in my low-back. I had my first massage with Myesha earlier this year and it was such an awesome experience! She is such a warm, open person, and her massage was incredible! She checked in with me the entire time to see how I was feeling, and did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable and getting the most out of the massage. Just had my first prenatal massage (I'm 29 wks) with Myesha and it was awesome. It was not a mamby pamby "relaxation" massage, but REALLY good deep tissue work (and I'm very picky about what deep tissue work I actually will recommend). It was work, breathing through lots of tight muscles, etc, but my body feels good for the first time in a really long time... She was great at reading my body, seeing where work was needed, and going for it. Also, she was a genuine, caring, awesome person. I usually don't feel the real effects of a massage for a few hours or even the next day after sleeping on it, but I melted into the table immediately. I just got done with a deep tissue massage and it was so wonderful. Myesha is very strong and does a very deep tissue massage. She is very passionate about what she does and gives 100%. She will assess your body which I found helpful. I just got done with an immersive residential yoga teacher training program and had a sore back and other body parts from 4+hours of yoga a day and she helped to work those tension areas out that were not relaxing with yoga alone. I purchased a groupon for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I've had other massages at other clinics before and had a really positive experience at those places. In contrast to the other clinics I've been to, Myesha had no customer service. She started my massage 10 minutes late and ended it 15 minutes early. (You do the math... I paid for a 90 minute massage and only received an hour and 5 minute massage). She did offer to massage more.. of which I advised her where to work... she worked the last 5 minutes and then left the room saying it was over. She was also very aggressive in her massage. I've been to other clinics where each touch begins gentle and then progresses to deep tissue. She went straight to the deep tissue. She kept telling me to breath, acting like it was my fault. I asked her to be more gentle and she responded by saying I was too tight and she couldn't help me. So she stopped working on that area (one I had marked as needed attention) and worked on a different area (one that I didn't mark needing attention). As I left she also said that I shouldn't be too worried about soreness because she couldn't get very deep because I wouldn't let her. Total shit. Oh, and during my massage she opened the door to cool off the room. I'm laying on the table with a sheet covering me and she opens the door! So unprofessional. My experience was that she is not interested in listening to clients needs or honoring the services that they paid for. Of all of the massages I've had in my life, this one was BY FAR the worst. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone. After looking on here I realize that Myesha comments on a lot of her reviews. So I'm not trying to hide anything from her. I noticed on one of the negative reviews she got, she commented how the user had never posted a review before and just wanted his voice heard. Well, Myesha, I'm in the same boat. I've never posted a review before. And yes I want my voice heard. But more than that I don't want other people to waste their time and money. I wish I would have more thoroughly read these reviews before purchasing the Groupon. If I would have, it would have been evident that she lacked customer service. It also should say something about the business if I've never written a review and am taking the time to write one for this business. It was that bad. I already tried getting a refund from Groupon but because the Groupon was redeemed they can't do anything. read more

If you like to support strong, independent female run businesses like I do, this is the place for your massage! I have been a regular client of Myesha's for a year and half. I suffered a climbing injury a while back and in general have muscle tightness issues. Visiting Myesha is always a holistic experience. She doesn't just give me a massage. She always offers stretching and rolling techniques that I need to be doing to maintain the work she puts into me. She is a body work specialist. I absolutely do NOT recommend this place. I purchased a massage from this place via Groupon for a friend of mine who was going through a very difficult time. A couple of weeks later, my friend told me that she scheduled an appointment, but that the woman was incredibly rude to her because my friend was being "inflexible" about appointment times. I saw a screenshot of the correspondence between my friend and the owner; this was hardly the case. My friend suggested two different times she could come in for massage. But regardless, how about a little customer service?! Especially from a person who is going to personally give you a massage! My friend was so upset by the way she was treated, she cancelled her appointment and asked if I could get a refund from Groupon because she felt uncomfortable going there after this woman was so rude to her. When I tried to get a refund, I saw that the owner had already marked the Groupon as "redeemed," even though she had not provided the service yet (NOT what they are supposed to do). I then emailed the owner of this massage place twice and asked if she could mark it as unredeemed because my friend was not going to get a massage from her. I was perfectly polite in my email. I never heard back from her and she never marked the Groupon as unredeemed. So, this woman not only redeemed a Groupon before she provided the service, she was trying to hold onto the money that she had not earned even after she knew the Groupon was not going to be used! Pretty unbelievable! I was shocked at her dishonesty and lack of integrity. Needless to say, I will never provide any business to this woman again. This review will be glowing, and for good reason! Myesha revolutionized my health and wellbeing, all for the better. After a decade of chronic pain that no medicine, activity, or miracle cure could fix, 3 sessions with Myesha have left me living pain-free. She has the healing hands of a goddess, but what's more important is that she really cares about what she does. One session with Myesha is enough to make you feel heavenly, but the routine care I've gotten from her since I first bought my Groupon has changed my life for the better. She goes above and beyond for her clients. Ignore every review that says she has bad customer service skills, because what those people have is a bad attitude. She knew I was stressed out about the election, so in my massage session after the election she gave me 30 free minutes of massage and a complimentary hand treatment. I bought a groupon for this yesterday and got extremely lucky to get an appointment today. I have been searching for someone with her knowledge and ability for well going on 5 years now. She is very professional and friendly and I did not know that my knots had knots on top of their knots! oh my god every where she touched I was a ball of tension but she worked her hands hard to work them loose. Then came the hot towel to help soften the knots. It felt so good I bought a package of 5. Don't deny yourself this healing massage by Myesha is second to none! I received a fabulous therapeutic massage from Myesha - not always fun/comfortable, but definitely worked out some of my knots and tension! She did ask at the beginning if I wanted therapeutic or more of a relaxation massage, so I'm sure she could meet your needs, but it was just what I needed! She is clearly very knowledgeable and interested in client education/overall wellness, suggesting stretches and other things you can do yourself to reduce accumulation of tension. Although she emphasized the importance of regular massages as self-care/maintenance (as opposed to "splurges"), she never tried to give a hard sell like you sometimes find with Groupon experiences. This is also not a fancy "spa" type atmosphere (I had to wait outside the building for 15 minutes when I arrived a bit early, as she was with another client), but absolutely a wonderful, thorough (she even did my face!) massage from this personable, one-woman show. read more

Myesha is hands down the best massage therapist I've ever seen. From the first visit, I could tell she was serious about my health and well being. People who are used to the blank smiles of the big box massage places will find something very different when they go to Myesha. She does not just give you a massage and send you on your way. She understands muscle health and how it affects you, and isn't afraid to tell you what your body needs. I went to her thinking my shoulders were my problem and she took a quick assessment and found some major issues in my lower back, issues I had no idea were there (and no other massage therapist had told me about). After one session with her I was amazed at how I could move my back with less pain and restriction. She is the proud business owner and does all of her own scheduling and reception work which means she is very busy, but is somehow still accommodating to her clients. If you book an hour she will give you the full hour and make sure she has done all she can during your session. She encourages frequent massage to make sure you don't just snap back to the issues you had before and does cumulative work on problem areas. I've never had a previous therapist have such specific plan of attack for my overall health. Myesha is also such a welcoming person, always good for a great conversation and is always caring. Myesha is THE BEST. For years, I have dealt with neck and back pain that would cause me to have day-ruining tension headaches. I have been seeing Myesha for about 2 months now and already my headaches are almost non existent! I felt a huge release and improvement in my overall tension levels and well being after our first session together and continued improvement after each visit. Myesha gives the best deep tissue massage I've ever had in my life. She pays attention to the areas I ask to focus on, but also finds other tensions in my body that I didn't even know were there. She is a true HEALER. She talks to me about things that I need to do to maintain and improve the way I feel after I leave her table, such as stretching, hydration, yoga, and foam rolling-- and really helps me to understand that to maintain the progress we make during sessions i need to do these things for my self at home. Her energy is so positive and bright that it is contagious. Even if i have had a rough day, I can't help but feed off of her positive energy just radiates out of her.
