I've been lucky enough to snag not one, but two deals for Aine's services which promised an hour-long massage for the low, low price of $30. After I visited her, I can honestly say that I'd be willing to pay full price for the massage that she gives - and anyone who knows me, knows that I'm a huge cheapskate and don't say these things lightly. Yes, the parking is annoying (take the bus, people, it's the U. District, there's no parking anywhere) and she can be hard to get hold of now that she''s sold so many deals and is often booked far in advance (but it seems she's now got an assistant to make her bookings so it's much easier to do). However, these minor annoyances aside, the massage itself is five-star solid! Aine gives a true full-body massage that's the perfect balance between relaxing and therapeutic, and makes sure to really work out your kinks and sore spots. She's warm and kind and it's clear that she truly cares about her customers. The space is nicely decorated and dim, soft music playing, the temperature just right, and the whole office is nice and quiet so your massage isn't disturbed by outside noises. I hope that Aine gets the boost in sales that she deserves from the daily deals, but at the same time I don't want her to get too popular because I want to keep her all to myself! read more

Aine is as sweet as pie! Her massages are simply awesome too. I first heard about her services after seeing her Tippr deal online, which I bought immediately because massages don't come cheap nowadays. It basically was a $29 deal for 1.5 hours which was too good to be true. I left her a fat tip because her services were way too awesome for the Tippr deal. I hope more people hear about her because she really is super nice and really cares about fixing the kinks and knots in your body. She teaches you different stretches and ways to remove tension too, that was super helpful. She spent a lot of time working on my glutes too which was new to me because I never realized how sore they were until she was rubbing on them. I asked for a deep tissue but I guess I wasn't really able to handle the "deepness" so it was more of a Swedish massage. But she even used hot stones towards the end on my calves and thighs, that was a nice touch too! Worst massage I have ever had. I am not sure who these other yelpers were going to! I thought about chalking it up to a bad day... but my husband had the same experience nearly a month later! I purchased 2 groupon-type deals for a 1.5 hour massage. They were only $35 a piece and we were very excited! Then I called to make our appts, I left a message and it was over a week before she got back to me. I almost called again. That seemed a little odd. Well it gets worse... During my "massage", she played some late 70's rock-ish music and even she commented on how NOT relaxing it sounded. But she told me that she can't listen to Enya all day or she will fall asleep. So I had the joy of listening to these up-tempo crappy tunes. Yay. She sat on the massage table the whole time... I don't know if she was tired or what. But she did that at my appt and at my hubby's appt. She also talked NON stop. About her family, her problems, etc. She used her hands a lot while talking as well.. which means.. she was not doing what I was there for. During my husband's appt, she stopped partway through and said it was finished. He asked if that was the full time and it turns out she had not even paid attention to the fact that it was supposed to be an hour & a half. He told me that he almost just let it be done regardless... he did want to leave. When my "massage" was finished, she left the room and I got dressed. I was out of that room with my coupon in hand within about 2 minutes. She said she was surprised I didn't take my time and lie there for a moment. Why would I? I've been more relaxed in the dentist's chair! That was the laziest, least relaxing, least beneficial, and most unprofessional massage I have ever recieved. Ive had several massages from Aine and even bought gift certificates for my boyfriend from her. She does really good deep tissue and relaxation massage. I started coming to see her 3 years ago when she worked ouf of her home and have continued seeing her in the new spot. She does an excellant job and her prices are reasonable which allows me to keep coming back. Furtheremore, Aine is sweet, lovely to talk to and all around wonderful woman. If your looking for a one time massage or a on going treatment with an LMP, I would definately recommend Aine. I never get less than a 90 minute with her... read more

I get massages pretty often and I must say that this afternoon's massage with Aine was perfect! Normally I am hesitant about new massage therapists, but Anie is very welcoming, friendly polite and makes you feel as if you had her called to your own home :) I came in for a 90 min (which I recommend) and she had water, waiting, and we began with discussing pressure points and so forth. She explains everything as she is doing it. Her massages are unique in a way that she massages and stretches at the same time (very effective). Its relaxing and therapeutic all at once. Aine is a BIG believer in massaging glutes and I agree. It's a part most practitioner skip over but now I see the importance. I feel like I left knowing a lot more about massages and my stiff areas. At the end I felt refreshed, awaiting me was more water with lemon, a heart chocolate truffle and granola bars if you want a snack. She is running a great special that I just learned of for Valentines week. She really wants to spread focus on people being able to pamper themselves and benefit from expensive massages that she has cut her couple's massage prices! -$130 for 2 ppl is a steal. OH. MY. i had been looking for a couples massage for a while i hadn't found a place that i wanted to try... so the idea got put on the backburner. enter: a week ago. i was lifting heavy boxes at work and wasn't being smart and didn't use the proper lifting methods... *sigh* ...i should know better. a couple days later i'm sitting at the computer complaining about my lower back pain and my bf says "what about that massage we're supposed to be getting?" YES! kill two birds with one stone... or one pair of magical hands... so i googled for a couples massage in seattle, hoping that this time something would catch my eye. and oh, thank you lucky stars, did i. i came across aine in the stranger classifieds. i saw the great price of $130 for two hour-long massages, foot soak, and champagne/dessert. regularly $170, i figured, why not get more for less?? it was a bit of a last-minute thing, so i wasn't holding my breath. i emailed her to see if there was any time she could work us in... and seriously, i got a response in less than a half an hour. yay for technology!! so after a couple back-and-forth emails, we were set up for an appointment a couple days later. the offices she uses were easy to find. free parking? not so much... but we were running a little late so i just parked across the street in the u-park area and paid the (not too ridiculous) $2 for 0-2 hours. they also validate for 1 hour... but i forgot to ask. upon arrival, there were citrus-infused waters and fruit & crackers waiting for us. we filled out the health/aches questionnaire and discussed what we were looking for in the massage. we then were led to the massage room, which was very nicely decorated. my bf commented "everything in this room says, "hey! relax!" the flowing white sheets on the ceiling were my favorite. the whole experience was incredibly encouraging/positive/calming. i had been massaged before, but it was my bf's first time. please forgive me, i forgot her colleague's name, but she was very cute and had a comfy yoga-looking outfit on so i'll call her, respectfully, lady yoga. aine and lady yoga have a great chemistry and the conversation that we had during the massage was very entertaining. this is something new for me, as i usually don't like to talk at all during my massages. it ranged from their massage experience to happy ending massages to how important the glutes being massaged is. aine and lady yoga were very informative on what and why they were doing it. lady yoga went a little deeper in her massage on my bf, and i got an average-to-light pressure, as i am a wimp and have been in 9 car accidents. the hour went by WAY TOO FAST. the glutes the glutes the glutes. make sure that you get your glutes massaged. as she kneaded away, i could feel how lonely they were and needed some lovin. aine also put a towel under my hips because they are tilted (never knew that!) and that made a day-and-night comfort difference. something i can try at home if i get uncomfortable in bed. we will FORRRRRRRRRRRR SURE be back. i'd like to make it a monthly treat... but maybe we'll have to settle for a quarterly deal. =] fyi: aine doesn't take cards, so be prepared with cash. read more

Aine is very knowledgeable about massage techniques and I learned a lot about how my body works. I got a deal for an hour and half massage and it was wonderful to experience hot stone massage, which was as a part of the massage. Typically I don't like talking during the massage, but we had a pleasant conversation the whole time, which I didn't mind. she really worked on my tight spots... my shoulders. I really loved that she would explain what she was doing when she was massaging me because this was my first so I even learned a little about my own body and muscles. Just got back from one of the best massages I ever had. I was lucky enough to find Aine McDonald through a Groupon deal, but I will be going back and paying full price. No masseuse has ever worked on my arms the way she did. I'm a self-employed writer and I tend to get very bound up from all the sitting and typing; after this massage, I can't believe how much better my arms feel. She worked out some tight spots in my shoulders and a persistent little soreness behind my shoulder blade. Wish I could say how much better I feel after the experience. I have known Aine for years and since my first visit with her I keep feeling better results. I am a very active person and tend to be pretty hard on my body and Aine always seems to keep it going by her deep tissue massage. Aine did some of the best deep tissue work I have had done. I was hit by a bus a few years ago and have lasting damage to my left side, which causes a lot of lumps and bumps. She is able to break them up and I feel free for weeks. I am very happy with the massages I have had. She is very personable, works with cream instead of oil (which I hate) and is mindful of her clients comfort. Her office is soothing, warm and inviting with wonderful relaxing music. It was the greatest and the best massage ever that I have got! Yes, she was sitting in the table, but she explained that it is for better muscle movement. She also compared the movement with her sitting on the table to the normal massage but I realized that the former feels much better since my lower body is very sensitive so I feel painful a lot when I get normal massage. But hers is the best and I didn't feel any pain but felt wonderful. She not only touched all the parts that I mentioned but also did everyone part of my body which I didn't realize that hurted such as fingers, feet and upper shoulder. The Massage is excellent with absolute attention to details and pain points. I could have rated 5 star but only 2 things which forced me to give 4 rather than 5 stars: 1) The availability / flexible hours: Because of her excellent talent, the availability is scarce and the weekday hours coincide with office hours. 2) Parking is a bit confusing if not hassle, but you will learn the trade after your first visit. Basically, the parking lot clearly states that pay before you leave so many get confused that how will the validation work? Here how you do it, you remember the parking lot # and don't pay upfront if it says so. Go upstairs and enter you car lot and model/licence plate and how long will you be staying and who you will be seeing in a log book placed right in front of the office..that's it. I used to see her before and I came back to the town and got her massage again last week. She is very good at pointing out the tight muscles and painful parts and getting rid of the tightness. At first, I was very disappointed because it was very hard to get in touch with Aine and get an appointment. I had been trying to contact her for about 2 months, and was finally able to see her yesterday. I had a Groupon, and wanted to go for hot stone massage. When I went for the massage yesterday, I asked her for hot stone massage. She said "I don't have hot stones here. I need to know in advance." I thought, there is no information on the website about advanced request for it, but then I thought, it took me so long to get an appointment, I don't want to cancel it now. So I asked her for deep tissue massage. Her response: "Well I do a combination of different massages, it is never just one type of massage". Again, I was thinking, on the website there are so many types of massages to choose from, but when you see her, she does a combination of all...and I just thought, I am here, lets just get it done with. When she started giving massage on my back, I could feel the knots, and tension in all my muscles. She knew which spots are tight, and which spots need more massage. She is very knowledgeable massage specialist. I have never had a massage this good before. I feel relaxed, my muscles don't feel sore anymore,and overall I feel great. If only, it was easy to get in touch with her to get appointments, and if the website had more information abut advanced notice for certain massages, I would give her a 5 star. read more

My boyfriend and I had been getting these deals for massages for quite a while now. We had purchased quite a few deals and been using them at least twice a month. And watching for more massage deals. We had gone/used quite a few. Some are good, some are you get your money's worth and some are I could say, you wish you could get a refund. Until we tried Aine couple of days ago. Yes, it took us weeks for her to set the appointments and I was at one point getting irritated. She did mention it on her voicemail how long it might take her to get back and mentioned that it might be faster for her to respond by email. She did make sure and kept in touch. As busy as she is, she tried to make it work with my schedule preferences. It took few weeks for us to finally get the appointment but it was well worth it. Out of all the massages that we had received from the deals, she was the best. She had set the standard. The 29 dollars each that we paid for was well worth it. I would be willing to pay more. She actually gave a massage! From head to toe!!!! It was a full body massage!!! She was very nice and very friendly. The room was relaxing, her music and the atmosphere was perfect.
