I was a regular monthly customer of My Pet Carnivore for 20 years. The new ownership has brought a range of changes that I can no longer overlook. Although my product always arrived frozen, containers were broken and/or missing with every order. Sometimes I received incorrect product. I have finally been reimbursed for most of the damaged or missing products-but it was a hassle. They didn't respond to emails or website inquiries or phone calls. There is no longer an option to contact them via fb messenger. I finally had to comment on a fb ad post to contact them. I have also had orders arrive a week prior to the delivery date, after following their instructions to put delivery date in comments...and despite numerous messages to them (voice/text/emails), they delivered it early and i had no freezer space. Crickets to my concerns. I tried to overlook issues in the beginning, but they only got worse. I continued getting broken containers, missing items or incorrect items with every order. The new containers are no longer recyclable-which is a lot of trash into the environment. With such poor customer service and no attention to the container problems, I didn't feel i could continue to trust product quality. It might still be great, but all I have is their word, and my trust is not there anymore. Sadly I had to make the choice to leave a company I had supported for so many years. I found a new vendor who gets the product to me undamaged, and doesn't require me to buy insurance to cover them doing their job. Figured I'd share my experience since I was surprised with all the negative on here. I've been using MPC for around 8 months now for my German shepard. I had one order in that time come with multiple containers cracked. I did not purchase the shipping insurance but still figured why not try my chances sending them an email. I was contacted back within one business day and they reshipped my entire order comped and recommended the protection shipping for the future. Since that order I have opted in to the shipping protection and luckily haven't had any cracked containers come yet. The food is always frozen like a brick shipped all the way to New England. Only thing that kills me is the price but I haven't found anything comparable for the quality food for my dog. My boy goes crazy for the Beef Supreme PMR. I would try them out and establish your own opinion they have been great for me. read more

Used to be a great company. When I first started using this company about 20 years ago, You literally emailed in your order drove to their delivery spot for me about a 50 mile round trip and the service and packaging was excellent. You could pay with a personal check. Then they went to online only ordering so I acquired a credit card specifically to pay them. No big deal. Their original containers had ribs around the lip and around the lid and were practically indestructible. I still have some of them and I treasure them like gold. Then about 10 or so years ago they changed to a thinner non ribbed circular container that cracked. When I contacted the company apparently it changed hands and the uninformed person told me that these were the same containers that they always use because you know customers like to make stuff up. Now they have gone to a super thin square container that breaks like matchsticks. However they will happily sell you a third party insurance for your shipping. Because as a retired pensioner I have nothing better to do than waste my time trying to prove to a third party that my shipment is actually damaged. The product itself is excellent unfortunately I now have to pick through 6 or 7 containers on every order to make sure there are no sharp jagged plastic bits going into my dog's food. This is what happens when small family businesses grow and place profits over priorities of customer service. I would give this company a zero star rating if I could. MPC used to be a great company. Then, in August 2023, it was purchased by 9Strong Holdings a venture capital/private equity company which incorporated in 2023. A company owned by private equity (PE) usually means less value, less service and more costs for the consumer. My newest fiasco with them regards a recent order that was sent to the wrong town, about 20 miles from me. MPC addressed it incorrectly. I spoke with the delivery service that contacted me the same day they could not deliver, to verify my address. They said it might take another day or two to get the order. It's been 7 to 8 days now and counting (no. of days edited 2-2-2026). Considering it's raw meat, I have no hopes of it being good anymore. I've called them twice and emailed them once. No response. The old owner would have been on it right away. After this investment firm purchased MPC they eliminated the convenient drop off points where you could pick up your product for free, they eliminated the trucks that delivered to the drop off points, now you have to pay for delivery and also an insurance fee on top of that. All calculated to make them more money but us? The consumer? We don't seem to matter anymore to this company. Any review you see before August 2023 is for the old owners. I bought a variety for my raw fed dog. He won't touch any of it. The trachea, gullet, fish. He's eaten raw his entire life and this is the first time he has refused anything. That says something about the quality and i question if they are spraying their items with some sort of chemical. read more

I'm giving this company a negative! I wish I can give it a negative 0!!!!! This company, I placed an order of over $400 and received spoiled broken meat. And to be honest i don't believe it to be rabbit food. I believe it is another meat sold to me as rabbit meat. I have tried to reach out to the company with no answer. I really don't know what I will do because as it is spending over $400 on cat food is expensive. I wish I would've read the reviews before purchasing the second time from this company. This company came highly recommended through a thread I'm on for organic raw foods for our pets. Very disappointed. Please do not purchase from this company. Research a company near you where you know where this raw meat is coming from. I pray this company could reach out to us and make it right. I was happy when I first order from this company back in October. My cat ate the food and I could see that it was what I order. Today, it doesn't look at all like what I receive back in October, this order today has a foul smell to it. My cat throw up the first couple of times I served it to him, I thought probably it is something else but my cat refuses to eat this food and I have 12 containers and don't know what to do?! This is my first time ordering raw food for my 4 yo havapoo, and he's such a picky eater, the intro today to first meal of ground chicken was slow. But he did love the dehydrated duck foot as a treat! The ordering process online is great, very easy to use. Since I'm local and could pick it up vs pay to ship, an email confirming that it was ready was great, the location was a little hard to find (the building was easy enough, but since it's not a retail store and there wasn't signage at the main entrance to the building I called and got directions to the rear of the building pass all the uhauls and look for the last red door plus this sign). There is also a helpful FAQ on their site for beginners to raw feeding, I have so many questions I wish there was a bit more info there but overall am very happy with the first order. Ill review again once the new food has been eaten for a few weeks as I'm really hopeful this will help with his digestion, allergies, energy, etc. read more

Update#2 I stated they were shipping out a replacement. Well, that never transpired. I received an email on June 5th from Rilla apologizing for the hiccup and they were shipping a replacement via UPS overnight. I tracked it, and it is still sitting in their facility as of June 12th SMH. A label was created but that is as far as it got. I reached out to them again via email and phone with again NO response. I cannot believe this company. What a shame! I am soooo beyond disgusted at this point. I repeat-This company was very good before Nick Carter purchased it. The food is great, but the customer service is nonexistent. I was their customer for 6 or 7 years; I order every month for my two German Shepherds. They don't answer the emails or website messages anymore, very frustrating. And they are losing the customers because of this. Also, they are not taking any responsibility for the shipments and force you to buy shipment insurance, otherwise you are out of product and money. Went downhill after the new owner took over. They are terrible. Placed order and got 5 days later spoiled product. I opened shipping package to a smell and 5 gallon raw dog food container broken open and food and juice from improper paging all over shipping box. One page of 22 testimonials on website have over 5 such complaints. One had 22 of 30 container with broken open in shipment. I placed an order with this company for $200+, including the shipping insurance through SavedBy. I received an email stating my order was shipping soon, attaching a UPS tracking number. About five days later, I get an email from My Pet Carnivore saying UPS returned the package to My Pet Carnivore because of damages. My first thought was that is weird that it got returned to the sender. My Pet Carnivore also told me they already filed a claim with the insurance. Weird again that the insurance was contacted for a package allegedly damaged by UPS. The insurance contacted me and said I could get a refund, store credit, or reorder, but if I reorder, the insurance would no longer apply if is was lost, stolen or damaged in transit. Weird again! I informed them I would like a refund, because what's the point of resending if it's not covered. THEN, I get my refund, minus the $6.97 for the SavedBy insruance. I went back and checked the tracking number provided, and it only shows a label was created but the package never picked up! I'd like my $6.97 back! STAY FAR AWAY FROM MY PET CARNIVORE! I just order raw food from this company. It was well packaged and frozen solid. Fed Ex did deliver it to the wrong house so it took an extra day to receive it. I would definitely recommend purchasing the insurance plan they offer incase you have an issue with delivery or product. My dogs would not eat any of the food except the boneless ground beef prey. I used the boneless ground beef prey and added Dr Harveys Raw mix and made a cooked meatloaf. I might order the boneless again. The shipping costs are kinda high. read more

When you call it sounds like an answering service and they will have someone get back to you but only via email even when you ask for a callback. I really want to like their product...but I can't (or at least my cats dont). I have ordered from them throughout 2017 and it was really good quality and my cats love it. I later switched to another online supplier when they ran out of rabbits and chicken as an alternative and my cats seem to really like haretoday more and won't even touch mypetcarnivore meat at all!!! Obviously I dont eat the food myself but just from the sniff test I can tell mypetcarnivore meat has some strong and strange odor. I contacted them and they said they get their meet from different suppliers so if the cats dont like their meat try to entice them with cheese or something...Okay, tried that...not my first rodeo...I tried everything. They were not that helpful at all. very disappointed! Another knock against mypetcarivore is that they package ALOT of blood in the meat. I had to drain some of the blood. Sure in nature cats eat the blood too, but this is downright excessive. I feel like I spend my money mostly getting the liquids rather than the meat itself. Even tho they are cheaper than haretoday, I dont have that kind of issues: cats love the meat and I dont have to pre-drain the blood. One good thing about mypetcarnivore is that their packaging is high quality and water tight unlike haretoday. read more

How have I not reviewed MPC yet?! These guys are a Godsend for me and my kitties! I order from them about once a month and get the home delivery. Every time I do, it seems like they have expanded their selections and inventory. I'm especially excited to order the sardines for my kitties as treats! The pricing is great compared to other suppliers I've looked at, and MPC has the benefit of being local to me! You can view their website to see how the animals are humanely raised at happy and healthy Midwestern farms so you know the meat is coming from a good source. I make my own cat food from their whole animal grinds plus the needed supplements for kitties' overall health. It has changed my life and theirs. Granted, it's more work for me, and I have to make sure to have a house/petsitter when we're away, but it's worth it! (If I had a dog, I'd do the exact same thing.) Do your homework, switch to raw food, and order from MPC! You can get a weekly delivery or make an appointment at their warehouse to pick up. I have been purschasing raw food for my animals for many years. I started using My Pet Carnivore at least 3 years ago and maybe more. Their proteins are really nice and I like everything about them except for their shipping. There are problems with the shipping. It was never great but to reduce their expenses they stopped using cardboard separators that keep the containers from tipping over and they help with insulating. So now, everything tips over. In the cold weather that's not too bad, but in the summer, it all defrosts and when the containers tip over the lids pop off and they spill all over the interior of the box. I called and spoke to a man there and he really had an attitude towards me. You would think since I was spending about $600/month that he would have been polite and appreciated my business, but not so. I see 2 issues with this company....theguys insolent attitude and the shipping problems. Both could be easily corrected, but I don't know that will happen. I wish it would get corrected, because I like their products. For now, I am mostly purchasing at rawpetfood4sale. Their shipping is perfect and they are polite when communicated with. read more

I've used MPC off and on for years. I got my MPC products via a co-op when I lived in a neighboring state, and now that I am local they are my primary source of food for my cats & dog. Their prices are better than any other prepared raw I've seen. They don't have any of the superfluous filler like lots of vegetables in their grinds (I mean, it *is* my pet CARNIVORE), they have a lot of variety, and they deliver to your door in Marion county for a flat $10. Anytime I've had an issue, like when my new freezer was delayed and I'd already placed my order, or when I moved to the area and needed to find a raw-friendly vet, they've always responded to my emails quickly and always been helpful. We first heard about MyPetCarnivore when we lived in Bloomington, IL as one of the local holistic pet stores had them as an option compared to the bulk processed raw foods. Though we never used MPC back then we had the fortunate change in life to move to Indianapolis and be able to go pickup straight from the warehouse! It has been just fabulous and since the food is frozen if I miss an appointment due to work (drat those bosses!) they are fine with rescheduling for another day to pick up. Even told me one time if I was running late near the end of the day to call and they'd hang out and wait for me. This kind of service in the big city! The price is really good. Especially when you compare to high end canned dog/cat food. And we can do organ meats along with fine ground meats. Both our dogs and cats (all 4!) love the food. Though our new 11 year old Aussie still needs her raw mixed with canned (her previous owner passed away back in January so she is still adjusting to the raw diet) but hopefully we will be able to eventually get her on zero cans. Though she scarfs down the ducks feet along with our boy Edward who is a Great Pyrenees and loves all things raw from MPC. Great prices, great variety! Their website was a bit difficult to use, but it looks like they have improved that recently. If you don't want to pay for shipping and happen to live in the area, they have convenient pickup hours at their warehouse. Other sources of ground meat I've seen don't include the organ meat, so that makes it harder to ensure my pet is getting proper nutrients. MPC does include organ meat in theirs, and also provides a satisfactory explanation for how their products are sourced and the animals cared for. The team is super friendly, too! read more

My Pet Carnivore has filled the holes in my feeding schedule when my local farmers are out of product. My Pet Carnivore has variety and I can try new items to vary my dog's diet. He is fully raw due to an acute onset illness that now no longer exists. Thank goodness. Thank you My Pet Carnivore for filling that gap. I do have to drive a ways for pick up but is till in the Metro area for me and not a big deal as it is 1x per month. I have not noticed ever, an over abundance of blood in the meat or packing. I love the containers they use, it makes it easier for me at feeding time. My dog LOVES the green tripe! I also know he is getting the most dense nutrient rich food that I am able to provide for him. The service has been good so far and delivery drop point simple. I do feel the website ordering process could use a few tweaks but other than that, my order is completed and sent and I receive receipt and confirmation of pick up date/location etc. It works! I absolutely love this place! When I switched my two large dogs (a lab and a Rottweiler) to a raw diet I was having trouble finding large quantities of meat at affordable prices. The local grocery stores did not have affordable meats. My pet carnivore provides a variety of meat options to ensure that your pet's diet is balanced and the best part are the prices! I order couple of the bulk boxes that last us three months. This company is great because all of their meat is grass fed with no hormones, antibiotics, steroids, etc. they also support small local farms and don't get their meats from factory farms.
