I really like shopping at this location. I bring my pup here for grooming every 5-6 weeks, and I take the opportunity to browse after dropping him off. This PetSmart always seems to be well-stocked on food, treats, and supplies. It's fun to browse the toy aisles, even though my dog definitely doesn't need more toys. Occasionally I can't resist when I find something new or unique. The employees are always super friendly, and it is easy to find someone if you have questions or need assistance. The grooming department has convenient hours and excellent groomers. I actually started coming to this location after following our groomer here from her former location. read more

We tried taking our dogs to be groomed at this location but they would not do it because one dog had matted ears and the other dog had an ear infection. My dogs are cocker spaniels - known for chronic ear infections. I have her ears treated constantly for this and never had a groomer turn us away before for this, or any other reason. I should note that the reason we tried PetSmart for grooming is because our regular grooming service was experiencing some staffing issues. Well we took our dogs home and I called the manager at PetSmart to complain about this situation. He agreed that an attempt should have been made to groom the cocker spaniel with the matted ears, and that the ear infection on the other dog may have been a judgement call, but he did offer for us to bring our dogs back to have them groomed at a 50% discount. I agreed and we scheduled that for a couple of weeks later. During those two weeks, we trimmed the matted ears on our own (did not take long) and continued treating the ear infection on the other dog. When we returned for our second appointment, the groomer accepted the dogs and said it would take about three to four hours (understandable). I had not even made it home from dropping the dogs off when I got a call that the dogs were ready to go home, and that they only partially groomed them both. They partially shaved one cocker spaniel but didn't finish her face and left three paws untouched. They told us "The one paw is all that she would let us do." She looks incredibly goofy. The other cocker spaniel (which we had previously trimmed the matted ears ourselves) looks even goofier. They said he has matting under his arms that they can't take care of. Took getting him hime I so find some very MINOR matting. It is nothing I can't cut out with a pair of scissors in about two minutes! Maybe had they groomed him the first time, that matting would not have been an issue. Now, keep in mind they only worked on my dogs for a half hour of what should have been a three to four hour session. They said nothing about him being matted in those areas during our first trip. Even so, isn't a groomer supposed to take care of such issues?! They went so far as to say that we need to take him to the vet to have the matting cut out. We have been dog owners all our lives and have NEVER been turned away by ANY groomer in the past for ANY reason! I called our vet and our regular groomer who both agree that this is just laziness on the part of PetsMart's grooming service. I have now scheduled them for grooming services with our regular groomer even though it will be a little while based on staffing issues. I will not name our regular groomer but they are very reputable in this area. They do a great job, and they shared with me that they are not surprised by our experience with PetSmart and that they have heard the same kinds of complaints from several others. Never again will we give this place a penny's worth of business. Stay away from this place and go somewhere else that actually cares about dogs and enjoys grooming them. I am impressed by the covid response here. They have "shower curtains" up between each grooming station. (Not sure how else to describe it!) so that pets are socially distanced. I really appreciate that. Kelsie is an amazing groomer. I used to make an appointment with whoever was available, but several years ago she made a point to come talk to me (when she wasn't the groomer that time) to say my dog posed with a witch hat on during Halloween. Apparently my dog has a different temper when getting groomed. After that, I always asked for Kelsie and she consistently does a great job. My dog has A LOT of skin growths since she's an old lady and only once has one been nicked. Thanks for great grooms! read more

Talk about upset. I visited the location to buy my 18 month old a cute little fish for his fish bowl. Something we can feed together. My visit was unfortunately serviced by Lindsey. There were a few people there so she immediately did not want to help me first until I spoke up and advised that I was first. I politely asked what was a nice fish that wouldn't require too much as I am getting the fish for my son, who was in the cart. She proceeds to cut me off and says she wouldn't recommend as all the responsibility will be on me. Ummm no shxt! (I was thinking this). I then go on to described the kind of fish bowl I have and how in the past I had a Beta fish that lived awhile. She cuts me off and tells me "my fish bowl isn't a suitable condition for any animal and how just like homeless people don't have suitable living conditions, but sometimes they live and sometimes they don't." Rating for walk in services at the grooming salon. After having difficulty at another PetSmart location, gave this one a try. Grooming prices are affordable and so far have been happy with the salon! Today went in for a walk in "pawticure" appointment. Had to wait less than 10 minutes, no big deal seeing we walked in without calling ahead. I always opt for no fragrance spray, as last time they put a vanilla spray on my pup, which left her fur feeling sticky. Groomer Leah was efficient, patient, and did great on my dog's paws and ears, plus she got a cute holiday bandana! read more

I bring my pup here for dog daycare and boarding. He absolutely loves it. The groups are small, and the employees know my dog by name (and can even tell me who his daycare besties are). I love the personalized attention and care my pup gets. I've also used the hotel in combination with the daycare play and feel confident that my pup is very well taken care of. I would give zero stars if allowed. I took my pet there, brought the food (16 cups) for the entire stay and reserved the platinum package, which included a free bath. Since my pet was staying multiple nights, I also received a free nights stay. When I checked out 8 of the 16 cups of dog food was returned telling me I sent too much. It was measured exactly. My dog was not fed the proper amount or was not fed 2x a day. I also had to pay (at a discounted rate) for the bath. Brittney the hotel manager stated the bath was not included only discounted and the corporate website was wrong. I only got 1/2 off the free nights stay as again she stated the website was wrong. I called corporate. The Petsmart store manager called me back and had Brittney with her. I explained all my issues. It was a fight to get my money that I was overcharged, and the store manager was as rude as the hotel manager. I would never recommend a place that tells you the corporate website is wrong (Brittney, 2x), and that does not feed your pet appropriately. My pet came home SO hungry. If I could give -stars I would. I've given this Petsmart hotel two chances with the most recent being the worst and the last visit. My dog got two potty breaks in 31 hours even though I was told 3-4 outings per day. His bed came home soaked in urine in a plastic bag but I wasn't told about it being soiled. I asked about the breaks while picking him up and expressed anger...and...called corporate office and filed a formal complaint after also finding out about the bed. Animal abuse. PLEASE READ!!!!! I love Petsmart and how affordable it can be but this location is pretty bad. I found out that they end day camp earlier than what they tell customers. I love that my dog gets to interact with other dogs in the area (especially during the cold) but what's the point if they're not even going to run the camp the whole time? I was also told that some of the staff can be too rough handling the dogs. The last thing I want to mention is training there. The last time I was in I saw a girl trainer supposedly "training" a dog but was sitting on the ground chatting with other staff in the hotel while the dog was jumping around. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! The grooming department is DMV/BMV level of disorganization and bureaucracy. I walked in for a simple cat nail trim with 4 employees there working on dogs. Was told that the employee who does cat nail trims will not be in for 3 days and that I should return in 3 days. I asked for an appointment and they said there is no need, it will be faster to be a walk in rather than scheduling an appointment. 3 days later I called to verify the cat lady was there and was told yes and that I need updated rabies shot paperwork, good thing I called because they never mentioned it before. When I got there I had to wait 20 mins for the cat lady and then the computer systems kept freezing. When they finally took my cat, they seemed harsh and pulled his legs straight backwards(close to parallel with his body) to cut his nails, he seemed so uncomfortable. They didn't cut every nail, what they did cut they barely cut and the nails that were cut were sharp and long within 4 days. I would recommend cat owners stay away and call your vet if your need cat grooming if you are not able to do it yourself or with someone else. The review rating is so high because one of the assistants was very nice to my cat while he was getting his nails cut and was petting and trying to calm him, the cashiers were nice and it is still a pet supply store that has goods for sale and adoptable pets. I got my first puppy ever today! I came in to PetSmart and was helped by Sydney she was FABULOUS! She literally helped me get a collar, the right crate, bed, bowls, treats and everything I needed. I love the store & Banfield but I will NEVER take my Kaycee Bella to the groomer's ever again! I have taken her to this groomer's before and they did a fantastic job that's why I decided to go back. Well this time was horrible. They nicked the inside of her ear(the flap) and they did not tell me at all when I came to pick her up. I found out for myself that evening when I noticed my dog shaking her head more than usual. I saw that she had a small nick so I kept an eye on it. Long story short I ended up having to take her to Banfield to get her ear checked out and her vet told me that she had some inflammation and a bacterial infection, because the tools they used weren't properly cleaned before they groomed my dog! read more

I recently tried out PetSmart's doggy daycare after changing jobs and needing a doggy daycare closer to work. I would not recommend taking your dog to PetSmart's Doggy Daycamp. When I first brought my dog in, the lobby/main area was nice, however there appeared to be just one large play room and a back receiving area with numerous kennels. Needless to say, I was less than impressed by the play area offered. In addition, there are hardly any photos of their play area on their website, and had I seen pictures of the play area online, I probably wouldn't have chosen to bring my dog. Upon signing my dog in, I asked if I would need to sign a waiver of some sort and was told no, which I thought was odd, as most kennels require this. She also didn't ask for an emergency contact, which again is odd, as most kennels ask this. When I picked my dog up in the evening, the employees at the desk were not super friendly and seemed annoyed and generally unhappy to be working there. When I asked the employee who brought my dog out to me how my dog did, she gave a vague answer of "she did fine, she played with friends." My dog is a male. Sure, it was probably an honest mistake, but it made me question the amount of interaction their employees truly had with my dog throughout the day. In past experiences, doggy daycare employees are interactive with both dogs and their owners. To me, the feel of the daycare seemed transactional and very "corporate". To top it all off, as I was driving home, I realized my dog reeked of urine. I'm used to and expect that my dog probably won't smell great after a day of playing with other dogs, but I certainly don't expect that. At the end of the day, I understand that this is a daycare for DOGS and I certainly don't expect a royal treatment for my dog, but I'd at least like to know that my dog spent the day in a large, inviting play area and interacted with both dogs and humans. In my opinion, PetSmart is charging about the same daily rate for doggy daycare ($23) as other businesses, but is providing a much lower quality of care. read more

We dropped my dog off for 2 and a half days and when we got him back his paw was spranged, he had a raw area in between his toes on his other paw and a raw red patch on his back. The employees even checked him with us for injuries he might have had before we dropped him off and he hadn't had a scratch. My dog is now very hand shy and scared of everything, and he continues to shake and limp while walking. Do NOT bring your dog here. Never drop your pet off anywhere that isn't owned by animal activists. Please, I don't want this to happen to anybody else. Ever. read more

I took my three-legged 9 1/2 yr old Pit Bull to the Castleton Petsmart to be groomed at 9am. When I walked in, the two females were having a personal conversation and didn't acknowledge me for a good 30-45 seconds (think about how long that really is...) and after being acknowledged, I finally got checked in. The guy working was the one assigned to my dog. At 10:30 I came back and the guy who was supposed to be grooming my dog was up front. He proceeded to tell me that my three-legged 9 1/2 year old pit bull was "VERY hyper" and escaped from the back while being groomed and trailed water all over the front area. He kept repeating that my dog was hyper. For the record, my dog has had 3 legs for the entire span of his life, and therefore that is the only way of life that he knows. "Hyper" is not a trait he has ever been because of his limitations. I also know that when he is being "attacked" (which he has been in the past) he will do everything he can to escape. You do the math. As soon as I got him from the groomer, I knew something was wrong. He is now sleeping on his bed, snoring, and has been acting like his body is sore. All I can say is, that groomer is lucky I did not see him mistreating my dog. I am a veteran, and I am extremely protective of my family, to include my three legged members. When I got to the groomers they had me down for the wrong appointment although our paperwork noted a cat trim as well as caps. I asked if they had time for caps as well and they said yes but it would take 3-4 hours. During my whole encounter with the groomer, she was not friendly and did not seem like she wanted to be doing this at all. Made me a bit nervous for my cat... Within 3-4 days the caps were already following off my cat's nails. They're supposed to stay on much longer than that. Once the caps were removed I noticed that my cat's nails were still very long. It looks like they didn't even cut them at all!! Then another fell off and it looked like they had cut super close to the core because my cat's nail was bloody. Overall I am just not impressed at all with the groomer's at this location. Specially for cats. From the beginning during the whole introduction and up to this point now with every one of the caps off before even 2 weeks were up this service was horrible. I have a small maltese that I have taken here multiple times to get groomed. The first time he came back with small cuts all over which I wasn't happy about. The second time I told them about these cuts and to be more aware, he came back not only cut but shaved to the skin in the most random spots. I've been taking my dog here for the past couple of weeks to attend the Doggy Day Camp and am really happy with our experiences so far! On her first day, I think they could tell that I was as nervous leaving my pup there as she was to be there so they spent some extra time with us, and I could tell from the staff's interaction with my dog that she would be in good hands for the day. They told me that I could call during the day and check on her (which of course, I did!) and when I picked her up after work, I got a report card on how she did during the day. The camp runs from 8-4 with an hour break during the middle of the day for rest time, but you can pick them up and drop them off at any time from when the hotel area opens to when they close, and it's the same price. $21 for a day sounds a little pricey, but when I pick up a tired and happy pooch at the end of a long day, I feel like it's well worth the cost! read more

You make an appointment and drop your pet off and then they don't groom the dog for another 4-5 hours. What's the point of the appointment? And the people who work there are beyond rude. Instead of just calling Banfield next floor to confirm my pets vaccinations, they made me walk over to get a print out. Banfield was surprised because they said the groomer normally calls. When I mention this to groomer, she says she was too busy to call. AND THERE WAS NOT ONE SINGLE DOG BEING GROOMED AT THE TIME. . The salon was empty. read more

The staff is friendly and they have promptly called me whenever there has been an issue (ie he threw up, etc). I've been taking my dog to day camp once a week for the past 7 months and I couldn't be happier! The staff knows my dog by name and she cannot wait to run into their arms upon arriving. I first started taking my dog after she got attacked at the dog park. I was nervous about how she would react around other dogs, but the staff assured me that they would keep an eye on her. The first few times she even spent most of the day with the staff where they let her watch people shop, just until she was more comfortable. She now comes home every time tired from running around all day with her new friends. I can't express enough thanks to them for the care and attention they give my dog. read more

We've been taking our German Shorthaired pointer to Doggy Day Camp at the Pet Hotel at location #1475 in Traders Point since she was a puppy (she's now almost 5). I couldn't be more pleased with the care she receives. We normally take her 3-4 days per week and she is noticeably sad if I start to leave the house and don't take her. The staff is wonderful! When they have a new hire I always am a little nervous, but somehow they find the most caring and competent people out there. She loves the play time! If you're not familiar with the breed, they are very high energy. She loves the close attention and activity of the day. Their staff is above reproach, even calling me recently to let me know they were on generator power after a storm. They let me know of any unusual behavior or illness and even called to check on her when she was home for a few days when I was taking some time off work.
