I hosted a birthday party for my dog at Crate Escapes - my first time visiting for myself and many of our guests-but likely not the last! What a great place to take your dog! There is a large outdoor play area, indoor space and a small dog area. The check-in is easy, especially if you download the app first. The staff is great and there's a "ruff-eree" that walks around to maintain order and helps keep the play area clean. There are poo bags stationed liberally around the facility so picking up after your dog is easy. We had fun interacting with the other clients and their dogs. Usually there is a food vendor onsite but were between vendors when I went. I was able to carry in whatever wanted and was told DoorDash was OK, too. I didn't have a chance to check out the bar, which is a pay by ounce but several of my guests did and commented on the variety offered. There are many picnic tables and chairs for humans to gather and a mix of natural and artificial turf for the dogs to play. My friends and I have talked about going back, despite the distance for some of us. It's worth the drive. This is a great day out for dog people-fun for your dog and a chill vibe for dog parents. read more

I've been hearing about Crate Escapes for a while now. I can remember having a chat with the owner back at the Clay Terrace dog park when Crate Escapes was just a concept. I'm so happy I decided to check it out today for the first time to experience "Puppy Yoga." The event featured adoptable puppies through Far Fetched a foster based rescue in Indianapolis. "Trinket," a three-legged Greyhound stole the show! She even found a mat of her own to lounge on. Yoga was facilitated by Amanda Denny Meyer of Within You Without You--although most of us cuddled with the puppies rather than posing in downward facing dog. I'm looking forward to returning to Crate Escapes for other fun events in the future! It's a great place for adults and dogs to socialize. So much more than just a dog park. It's a really unique opportunity just to hang out in this space with dogs everywhere and the option to have food and drinks with other dog lovers. Love, love, love! Me, my husband, and my favorite canine had a great time here. Lots of space for dogs to run off their energy. For us humans, we really enjoyed sipping a cocktail while listening to live music. Shout out to the Mexican restaurant inside the business. First visit today and we are so impressed with the size, handlers and team taking care of our pups. We took a day pass which worked really well for our husky who is 2 years. There's an attached restaurant and bar which is a plus. Clean and extremely comfortable which is a huge bonus compared to no fee dog park. Good one for Westfield!!! read more

Our dog loved this and we will be back for sure. The reason behind the 4 stars is they aren't serving food until March 21st and we went expecting to eat. Then we got beer and both taps stopped working. We each had one beer, went back for a refill and it said it was unavailable. When asked we were told it was because it was all foam. It's still new and there's a few kinks that need worked out. They are adding on a huge area to play also. There is no temperament testing done so all dogs are welcome which is a little nerve wracking. When we left there were about 20 dogs and only 1 referee which is not enough to me. They needed one inside and one out. All the owners were pretty good at watching their dogs BUT they allow drop offs. So there were a lot more dogs than owners. The reason I feel there should be more referees is I felt I was watching more than just my dog as the referee pretty much stayed inside. Hopefully once it gets more popular they keep the daycare dogs in another area. read more

I took my dog here for some play time and overall it was a good experience. Ultimately, she didn't do much playing, as she doesn't seem to be too social, but I still enjoyed watching other dogs enjoy the space. I love the concept but do worry about the lack of supervision, as there were a few groups of very rowdy dogs and ultimately a group of a few that got aggressive with one another. I saw a couple of ruff-eres but they didn't seem to act fast or to really be keeping an eye on things. I also don't think there were enough to cover the large space. I say try this place but keep a very close eye on your pup. The space was clean and well kept, there is plenty of parking and entry staff was friendly and helpful. read more

She passively aggressively accused me of leaving because my dogs didn't have their vaccines; not because of the reality that I told her which is that I left because her employee was quite disrespectful to me. read more

We went today, as we have been four times now and have loved. This time was different. I disregarded the last time my dog was bit. This time there were dogs that had diarrhea. After moving and going by the bubbles and seeing a goldendoodle about couple feet from us again have diarrhea, we left. Yuck. Normally love the place. Come on tho. Ewe. The fact that no one was cleaning up after their own dog not ok. Super health issue. read more

It's a drive from downtown for sure. But having a place that has staff who help monitor and be a third party for the pups and people is fantastic! I love how it's an indoor and outdoor space for dogs to be off leash! My pup loved being able to go in and out as she pleased! As a worrying dog mom I followed her around whenever I didn't see her, but the rufferees make not having to stay completely glued to my pup's side easier. She just likes to run and visit with people! The rufferees are also great since if there's any issues there's a deciding third party to prevent issues between people and their pups. They have a good variety of drinks. And I actually love that kids are allowed inside. All of the people I met love dogs! The kids were happily playing with all dogs, and were respectful to the people and the pups! The dog parents were also great at cleaning up after their pets for the most part. And all dogs I saw at least were well socialized. Otherwise their person made sure to do whatever their pup needed. I've been to parks where people just let their dog get away with negative behavior. There will eventually be food! I'm super excited about that! And the park when completely done will be HUGE! My one thing is that I hope they expand to other areas. I'm downtown and it's a drive. To any large dog park it's a drive. But I'd love if they could expand a bit closer to downtown. And if memberships could cover all locations someday would be amazing! It's just fantastic to have a space that's perfect for dogs and humans to relax and socialize! read more

This one is for the dogs! For once the Indy area has a dog park/bar that is indoor/outdoor. Also, see the word "bar" I just used!? They have a self service beer wall so you can grab some hops while your dog hops around. The indoor and outdoor split is great for the winter. We registered online and provided health info which made sign in a breeze. They have "Ruff-erees" that circulate to make sure everyone is playing nice. We came through during the opening weekend and they are still putting final touches on the place, but we were huge fans. It seems a food outpost is coming soon. read more

Crate Escapes is the best thing to happen to the Central Indiana area. The indoor off leash area makes it great for year round attending - even on the rainy days. The large outdoor area is plenty of room for all types and sizes of dogs. The "ruff"-a-ree's are always attentive and are close by if tensions start to arise. If you're a dog owner you've got to come check this place out!! Pup, 1yo and I came to visit on a weekday morning and it was a blast. They have a gated area for children with chalk and toys which we could relax in while our dog (high-energy boxer mix) was running in the large gated area beside us. They have a yard attendant who throws balls for all the dogs which is amazing. Food/drink menus look great. Self serve drinks on tap. There's a separate dining area for humans only which is great to have a place to sit away from the pup-action. It was so fun to visit, we can't wait to be back for more fun times here! We LOVE crate escapes!!! We are there at least twice a week with our puppy. It is perfect for all dog owners. From dog yoga to trivia to running clubs to kids night, they have events for everyone. They have a beer and wine wall which is self service. They also have a lot of coffee, tea, soda, and assorted other drinks as well. The yard in the back is 1.5 acres of turf which is perfect. Our dogs never get dirty or muddy with the turf. They have tennis balls and our dogs will go for hours running after them. It leaves our dogs tired and happy every time! We love it! read more

There needs to be more workers that keep an eye on dogs. Also, once a dog bites another dog, they should be kicked out and not allowed back in. We had our dog there and multiple dogs were taunting her. She was bit 2 times and nobody did anything to stop it. Not going back! Horrible experience!
