Charlie with his amazing trainer Hannah

The trainer Hannah was amazing and truly a lifesaver. All the staff here took good care of my fur babies and the training that was provided exceptional.

I decided to take my 3 year old dog to the obedience 101 class. She's pretty well trained already (she was trained when she was about 6 months old) but we decided to bring her back so she could socialize with other dogs and so she can attend some of their other classes and this class is a Prerequisite to participate in their other programs. I love that the class sizes are small. There were about 10 in the class. I also like that they start at 6:30 which gives me time to get home and get ready to go. Lastly I like that they have adequate parking. It is a very much get down to business type of class. No fluff no jokes, laughter or fun. It's obedience training. If you are looking for something pretty basic (sit, stay, down, heel, here) this one is probably okay. It's an hour every week for 6 weeks. It is cute that they take a group photo on the last day of class/Graduation and your dog also gets a certificate of completion which is nice.

I took my pup to obedience 101 at Downtown Doggie and had the BEST experience! This was a 6 week group class that taught dogs (and their owners) the basics of training (sit, lay down, stay, loose leash walking). My corgi has always been a bit stubborn but the clear instruction mixed with praising with treats helped all of the commands click with him instantly! I can confidently say he is a better behaved dog because of obedience 101 which makes his life and my life a little more pleasant. :) Thank you, Downtown Doggie!

We have been taking our 2 huskies here for 3 years. We have had one since he was a puppy and our girl is a rescue. Charger has since went blind and they have been amazing with him! He goes to daycare and plays as normal with all the other dogs. Charlie was a rescue from an abusive home and could get a little uncomfortable with strangers taking away her food or taking off her harness and they didn't complain and worked with her! For our 2 pups it is $45 a day and we try to take them once a week. They are DEAD when they come home. Perfect solution if you have a date night or event after work one day and can't leave your dogs at home all day. If you live downtown, they also have a drop off service. They also have a bath service for $25-30 which is great.

    Having a blast

I took advantage of being a new customer and received a free day pass for doggy day care. In preparation for a upcoming travel, I dropped her off for the day, which included an assessment. Unfortunately Sora was not ready to be in general population and spent her day in a private room with scheduled independent playtime. The following week, I arranged daily boarding so Sora could be home every night. I called or texted daily to check on her. The staff was always quick to respond, providing detailed info to put me at ease. My husband would also provide me with nightly updates. The progress Sora had over the week, was amazing! She was able to build a heightened level of confidence that included daily excitement during her morning drop offs. I stopped by for a visit after my return, and I was happy to see she had made human friends that shows her a great deal of love. I 100% trust our Sora Belle to stay at PetSuites, where she will receive the expected level of care, treatment and love as if she was at home.

The whole interaction made me uncomfortable. The Man kept trying to take my dog without understanding what I wanted. He then said he will send me a photo (which helped reassure me) but I left feeling anxious (which I should have turned away then). Dan the whole beard away. They didn't charge me but regardless with this bread it's a Possibly the hair won't grow back. The uneven cut was horrible. I mainly wanted just the man parts cleaned up and a little bit of clean up.. not a hair cut but a trim, The lady called me and told tell me I told the groomer the type of job I wanted. I said, "why would I ask the groomer to butcher my dogs hair? Has he ever cut Pomeranian hair?" When I asked what happens if my dogs hair doesn't grow back because you gave him a bad haircut, they said that it should go back. I asked them again, they said "well we would be sorry if it didn't"

There is a large outdoor play area, indoor space and a small dog area. The check-in is easy, especially if you download the app first. The staff is great and there's a "ruff-eree" that walks around to maintain order and helps keep the play area clean. There are poo bags stationed liberally around the facility so picking up after your dog is easy. We had fun interacting with the other clients and their dogs. Usually there is a food vendor onsite but were between vendors when I went. I was able to carry in whatever wanted and was told DoorDash was OK, too. I didn't have a chance to check out the bar, which is a pay by ounce but several of my guests did and commented on the variety offered. There are many picnic tables and chairs for humans to gather and a mix of natural and artificial turf for the dogs to play. My friends and I have talked about going back, despite the distance for some of us. It's worth the drive. This is a great day out for dog people-fun for your dog and a chill vibe for dog parents.

I'm so happy I decided to check it out today for the first time to experience "Puppy Yoga." The event featured adoptable puppies through Far Fetched a foster based rescue in Indianapolis. Yoga was facilitated by Amanda Denny Meyer of Within You Without You--although most of us cuddled with the puppies rather than posing in downward facing dog. I'm looking forward to returning to Crate Escapes for other fun events in the future! It's a great place for adults and dogs to socialize. So much more than just a dog park. It's a really unique opportunity just to hang out in this space with dogs everywhere and the option to have food and drinks with other dog lovers. She has regular bath/grooming sessions there as well. As such, we have had the opportunity to get to know most of the Uptown Team throughout the years, from the day care staff to management to trainers, and they have been nothing but caring, supportive, knowledgable and accommodating. She is always clearly happy and excited to see them, no matter which staff member it is, when we drop her off. When our dog was younger we tried out a few other day care businesses to see what was out there, and Uptown Pup was the only place where we felt our dog was cared for and received an individual focus; each Uptown staffer truly cares about the dogs' well-being and wants each one to flourish. Our dog has anxiety issues, particularly with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, and Uptown has consistently gone above and beyond to help her with this, including taking her aside from her group to relax and hang out during day care. During her boarding stays the staff has also paid extra attention to make sure she was comfortable. She also has a food allergy and a sensitive stomach, and the staff always remains cognizant of this and makes sure she avoids certain types of treats/foods when she's there. These are just a few examples of the care that Uptown takes for clients. For anyone deciding whether to entrust Uptown Pup with their day care, boarding, training or grooming needs, this probably sums it up best: we wouldn't just recommend Uptown Pup - we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else BUT Uptown Pup.

Seriously, the best dog training, which this was, helps human owners recognize how to help dogs be their best selves without using coercive, painful or negative tactics. We learned stationing, calming techniques, and loose leash walking, which has been particularly beneficial for me since I am usually solo walking 2 medium-sized, but young and energetic dogs. I've also had private lessons with Jimmy on an urgent basis. He was very, very helpful to me to change specific behaviors that were problematic when encountering other dogs. Whether you have a new dog who needs to learn basic skills or a challenging pup requiring creative, positive training, Uptown Pup is the place to start.
