Rosie loved her experience at Bark Tutor! She made so many friends :)

Bark Tutor (especially Kayla) was incredible! Our dog, Rosie, learned so many commands and even some fun tricks during her three weeks at the program. It is expensive, but well worth it. The private lessons that come with the program helped to give us the confidence to continue training at home and ensure her skills remained :)

My pup Mulligan had the BEST experience at Bark Tutor! He went for the 3 week puppy training and after one week had already learned so much! Each day you also get a report card with info on how they did and photos of them playing. The trainers also meet with you 2 times a week to show you what your dog has learned and help to train you on how to do the commands.. Even after the 3 weeks are up, they check back with you to see if you have any additional concerns/issues. I would 100% recommend them for puppy training! Our trainer, Taylor, was the best :)

I could not recommend a better place to send your dog for school! When we adopted our dog Ivy, we realized she was going to need some work. She was over a year old but had no formal training and still acted like a full blown puppy. We called Bark Tutor, and they were able to immediately answer all our questions! They allowed us to schedule her for a 3 week day camp over the phone; we just needed to send them her vet records. Once she got started, we were assigned a trainer. Nick did an amazing job and was really able to read what she needed as she picked up on training pretty quickly. The first private session you tell your trainer what three goals you really want to make for your dog and that will be their main focus for the 3 weeks. He went at her pace instead of making her stay on one task when she already had it mastered which was super nice! They give you 7 private lessons when you come pick your dog up in the afternoons and have you practice in real environments (i.e. the neighborhood streets, Pet Supplies Plus, and near the Vet office). Nick provided us with all the supplemental material we needed! They allow your dog to participate in play groups during the day as well to give them a mental break. We had never had Ivy in a large playgroup before, so it was nice to get a professionals perspective on her play style and what to recognize as good and bad play behavior. At the end of the 3 weeks, you still have access to all the supplemental material and your dog graduates! They take a cute photo of them in a cap. During the 3 weeks they covered everything from sit, stay, down, place commands to all aspects of leash walking. The 3 week program is a little pricey at a little over $800, but the results you get from the experience are priceless! And if that's too expensive, they also offer a 1 week program.

Hudson smiling after a day of playing and learning good manners

Hudson went to dog school all day from 8-5 this week, and was trained one on one for 1-2 hours a day. Wow, what a difference a week makes. He has 2 more weeks to go, and so far so good. Bark Tutor School for Dogs is wonderful and everyone there is so kind and sweet. It so great that they train in a positive way and are NOT hard handed. I love how patient Brittany is with our boy and it helps that she owns a couple of GSDs and understands the breed. Good job Hudson!!!

Andrew spent an hour or two at the house, observing the dogs and talking to us about what we were hoping to accomplish relative to what he was seeing. Before leaving, he gave us a couple of simple things to work on prior to the start of our consecutive board-and-train sessions two weeks later. Frankie and Ellie are now back with us and while they still have enormous amounts of energy, their ability to respond to commands, walk with a loose leash (zero pulling) and maintain their "place" is incredible! Selective use of the e-collars has even allowed us to redirect their attention in the midst of their loudest, most raucous roughhousing episodes. We can't recommend Andrew enough. He has a way that brings about significant behavioral changes in the dogs while building the confidence of owners: it's amazing to witness the transformations. We are so grateful that we found Andrew and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone looking to reconnect and improve their relationship with their dog(s)!

We took…read moreher to several of Uptown's training sessions when she was younger, and she stays there for boarding when we go out of town, in addition to consistent weekly day care. She has regular bath/grooming sessions there as well. As such, we have had the opportunity to get to know most of the Uptown Team throughout the years, from the day care staff to management to trainers, and they have been nothing but caring, supportive, knowledgable and accommodating. She is always clearly happy and excited to see them, no matter which staff member it is, when we drop her off. When our dog was younger we tried out a few other day care businesses to see what was out there, and Uptown Pup was the only place where we felt our dog was cared for and received an individual focus; each Uptown staffer truly cares about the dogs' well-being and wants each one to flourish. Our dog has anxiety issues, particularly with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, and Uptown has consistently gone above and beyond to help her with this, including taking her aside from her group to relax and hang out during day care. During her boarding stays the staff has also paid extra attention to make sure she was comfortable. She also has a food allergy and a sensitive stomach, and the staff always remains cognizant of this and makes sure she avoids certain types of treats/foods when she's there. These are just a few examples of the care that Uptown takes for clients. For anyone deciding whether to entrust Uptown Pup with their day care, boarding, training or grooming needs, this probably sums it up best: we wouldn't just recommend Uptown Pup - we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else BUT Uptown Pup.

Seriously, the best dog training, which this was, helps human owners recognize how to help dogs be their best selves without using coercive, painful or negative tactics. We learned stationing, calming techniques, and loose leash walking, which has been particularly beneficial for me since I am usually solo walking 2 medium-sized, but young and energetic dogs. I've also had private lessons with Jimmy on an urgent basis. He was very, very helpful to me to change specific behaviors that were problematic when encountering other dogs. Whether you have a new dog who needs to learn basic skills or a challenging pup requiring creative, positive training, Uptown Pup is the place to start.

The puppy was aggressive toward the adult which was very concerning to us. As a last resort I decided that board and train was my only chance to save this puppy, and it did! In the 2 weeks since he has been home I can spot the precursor behavior to aggression and intervene, thank to Jon's ability to teach me how to better communicate with the puppy. Board and train is a big step emotionally and financially. While we have had experience with special needs dogs, I was over my head here. My first responsibility is to the existing dog, and the idea of surrendering a deaf puppy was so disheartening to me that I would have tried anything to avoid it.
