Unfortunately Five Points Kennel, who we've used for years has now denied accommodations for one of our fur babies because he is requiring a halo harness due to having both eyes removed. I previously called to confirm that Toby could still come and participate in play school and was told yes, of course. Upon scheduling for an overnight, grooming and play school I'm told Toby is no longer welcome. Pitiful. We are incredibly hurt and saddened by this. I've been taking my pup to Five Points Kennels since I've rescued him from the shelter 3 years ago. I have NEVER called and not been able to get it in. Being added to the waiting list is never a problem, because I ALWAYS get lucky and someone cancels :) Grooming is amazing as well, bathing my pup is always so hard for me and I don't even bother with his nails. We have used 5 Points for both boarding and daycare. During boarding we received photos and email updates thru the week letting us know how our Pit and Rott were doing. My Pit is excited to go to doggy daycare and always comes home tired after play. I know the staff/dog ratio is good and that she is placed in a group with similar sized and energy dogs to reduce risk. What takes the cake is when I received a letter in the mail from Purdue University College of Veterinary Science saying that 5 Points had made a donation in my Rott's name after we lost him to a battle with cancer. That small gesture still chokes me up and I know that with donations like these the business and staff have my pups' well-being at heart. There a a handful of daycares closer to my downtown residence but I will make the trip south and east because I know the staff love my dogs as much as my dog(s) love(d) being there! read more

I'm extremely picky when it comes to services for my dog and have been very impressed with five points each time. On our first visit, they gave me a personal tour and on the 2nd they moved my dog from the small dogs kennels to the senior suites without the additional cost. They do a great job of listening to my dog'dd needs and I know he's in good hands. For his first grooming there, the groomer came out to meet me so I could talk about my concerns and I felt like she took the time to make grooming a positive experience for him. Today was reminiscent of taking my children to kindergarten for the very first time. I dropped my fur baby off and away he went! As I toured the facility, he was already making new friends. Let me tell you about the service given to me from this professional group of fur lovers. As soon as we walked through the door, he was comfortable. We were greeted by smiling faces and any tension I may have had was released. You could just tell he was gonna be in excellent care. There's something about seeing a man get all mushy over a dog! I made the initial reservation online and to my surprise, I received a prompt response. I had questions and they answered each one. I was a little worried about his size as he's only 6 lbs, but thinks he's a big dog! But his report card at the end of the day suggested that the big dogs played right along with him. The facility was immaculate! The staff was very pleasant and had so many services that I plan to take advantage of, not to mention my fur baby loved it there. We recently utilized their dog boarding service for our dog Prince. This was our first time using Five Points. Our dog stayed five nights. I'm always nervous when he stays at a new place. The reservation process was very easy. I provided all the paperwork online, which is very convenient. My husband dropped of our dog and I had pick up duty. Five Points is conveniently located in southeast Indianapolis. They provide a bed and blanket. You only need to provide food and treats. Also they offer grooming services at the facility. As a dog mom, I'm pretty protective over my dog Zeus and who is watching him, so I did a lot of research before sending my dog to a kennel for five days while I was on vacation. As a PR/Marketing person, I have to say I love their website. It's very informative and gives you everything you need to know. The phone number is listed but don't expect them to pick up often. We had to call three times and send an email before we got a response that they had received our dog's shot records by fax. Again, as a protective dog mom, they were super nice about letting us tour the kennel and give us all the information we needed before we made a reservation. They also said he got a little dirty on the last day so they cleaned him up before we picked him up and didn't charge us for his bath. The only reason I have to give them a 4/5 is because of the effort it takes to get in touch with them as well as their policy regarding early drop off. I called and asked if there was anyway possible we could drop him off at 7-7:15ish in the morning as the staff is already there for the day (they open at 8:00am), even for a fee and they said yes but charged us an ungodly fee. We really needed to drop him off at 7:15am so I paid it, but I did think the charge was ridiculously expensive. (And by expensive I mean more than the cost to board him for an entire day, just to drop off 45 minutes early) Overall, great place and great staff! Great prices and they are always very friendly to both me and my dogs, which is saying a lot because one of my dogs is not very easy going. The groomer always does a great job and both dogs come home happy, clean, and tired. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because they are inconvenient to get a hold of. Lengthy post ahead- We dropped Nikita, Anastasia, Sascha and Bolt off at Five Points Kennels Sunday at 2. They were to stay through Wednesday night, as we were going to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We received a call from the kennel, about 8:30 Sunday night, telling us Ana and Sascha were very anxious, and an employee had went in to remove their harnesses, petted Sascha and her hands had fleas all over them. All dogs are on flea meds, the flea pills, and we've never seen a flea on them, so this seemed very suspicious. They went on to say, they wold have to give the dogs capstar, an oral flea med, to the tune of $120 per dog. Not only did I not believe she had fleas (or, if she did, she must have gotten them from the kennel), but I told them I'd have to call my vet before they gave them more meds on top of what they already take. They seemed a bit put off by that, so I asked the lady, do you know if it's safe to mix those medications?? She said no. Next morning, I call and ask for Lauren, who the lady the night before said was the owner and to talk to her. She wasn't in yet, so I spoke with Elizabeth. I tell her, our vet didn't recommend the giving them the medication. Elizabeth says, either they all get the meds, or they all have to be picked up. Nikki and Bolt were in a separate run, but because they all live in the same house. She now tells me, it was Anastasia that was covered in fleas...you know, the white dog. I explain to her, my brother and my dad will come get them after 4. I cannot stress enough to her, they will have to help them to the car. The puppies aren't that familiar with my brother, my dad is almost 81 years old, they'll pull, and if they get loose, they're gone. Elizabeth assures me, employees will bring the dogs to the car, and they will go start trying to acclimate the pups to them. I get a call from my dad, around 6- 3 dogs are home safely, Ana broke free and they can't catch her. My brother's been trying for an hour. I asked, didn't the kennel help you out?? NO. I call the kennel and speak with Lauren, who did seem concerned and had been helping trying to catch her. I explain my earlier conversation with Elizabeth, she assured me they would help and they didn't. Lauren confirms, no they didn't help them out, and apologizes for that. I asked her to put Ana's picture on their site, which she did finally do around 9:30. She tells me, she's going to call my brother and look more. Almost an hour later, John still hasn't received a call. I call back, ask for Lauren, Kevin comes to the phone. He says, he is the owner, along with Lauren. I said, Lauren hadn't called my brother yet- in a very nasty tone, he says "she's with clients. She's busy and has things to take are of". I asked, don't you care about my dog- to which, he said, "no, I don't care about your dog". As you can imagine, I became rather livid. He goes on to say, their employees did offer to help, and John and Dad refused the help, to which I said, Lauren already confirmed that wasn't true so don't give me that bullshit. He hangs up on me. I call back. Second phone call he blames my dad for not running after Ana, makes a 'joke' that the kennel has never boarded huskies (no worries he was only being sarcastic, because nows a time for that apparently). I asked if they will help us, when we get in around midnight- of course he wasn't going to help, he didn't care and the dog was no longer in his possession, so not his problem. At some point, I threaten to sue him, to which, he says, call your lawyer, I don't care. I ask to speak to Lauren again. He refuses, he's the owner, he's taking care of this. I said, put Lauren on the phone- he says, I'm not going to tell him what to do, he yells about my family some more, and hangs up again. I call back- for the next half hour, they don't answer their phone. I left a message, we're going to be home around midnight, and we'll be searching the property. In the meantime, my brother calls and talks to Lauren, tells her we'll be there around midnight, she says no problem. About 20 minutes later, Lauren calls me, they've changed their minds, we are not allowed on their property because of my 'threats'. I said, so if we see our dog on your property, we can't come get her? I wanted to be very clear on this- she said, you're putting me between a rock and a hard place, but no, you can't come on our property to get her. She also claims, Kevin is a very caring guy and she's changed her story to, John and Dad refusing their help, so the dogs were not in their possession, and they are not liable. Convenient. A former employee of theirs, drove from Moorseville to investigate a sighting, which led to Matt finding her around 2am. We can't thank her enough!! Amazingly enough, 8 hours roaming free, Ana doesn't have a flea on her. Nor, does Sascha. I've taken pictures and videos for proof. We've been taking our dog here for several years whenever we go on longer trips (too far from downtown for short trips). It's owned and run by the family that lives next door and they definitely seem to love dogs. It's a kennel so it's not a fancy doggie hotel but they let the dogs out to play and my dog always loves going. The rates are very affordable as well. read more

Our dogs seem to really enjoy this place. We live a half hour away and though there are kennels closer to us, we prefer this one over all the others. It is very reasonably priced and they allow our 2 dogs to board together in the same run. We also appreciate that they provide extras at no extra cost. For example, our dogs are individually let out twice a day to use the play area. At other kennels this costs upwards of $5 for each walk or time they are let out. It may not sound like much, but multiply by two dogs, times twice a day for a week long stay and it adds quite a punch. They have community play time, but our dogs don't participate due to their temperaments. They also have special services for senior dogs, but we haven't needed those yet. We've never had any issues here and will continue driving the extra distance to come here. read more

I have been a loyal customer to five points for a few years now. Taking my dogs there was downright inconvenient. But I was happy to do it because I trusted the people there. Like a lot of dog owners my dogs are like family to me and trusting the people that take care of them is more important than my convenience. Most of my experiences with them were positive....until June of this year. I dropped my happy, healthy dogs at five points on friday and we started a short weekend (plus monday) trip. We returned home late Monday night and were excited to pick the dogs up Tuesday morning. When they brought the dogs out I instantly knew something was wrong with Apache. Instead of being extremely excited and animated he walk to me and sat at my feet. I asked the groomer, we always get them groomed when boarding, if everything went alright. She told me Apache got a little upset when she got near his front legs. She didn't seem to concerned. I chalked his unusual behavior up to him being mad at me for leaving him there. So I paid , thanked everyone, and went home. At home Apache's demeanor only got worse. He was lethargic, didn't want to be near anyone and started growling at everyone that approached him. Our happy, animated, and stuck to us like glue dog was now acting the polar opposite of normal. The morning after I picked him up I called the kennel again and asked if anything had happened to Apache that might explain his behavior. The replied no everything went normally. I told them everything that was going on with him and we were going to take him to the vet the following day if he didn't start acting normally. The replied with "keep us informed". Apache did not show improvement the next day so I took him the vet. The vet found "dermatitis" caused from urine scold (urine scold is when the skin is irritated from laying in urine to long) in three places. Front Legs, and scrotum. Basically anywhere he was laying while at the kennel. This had led to a secondary infection that he needed antibiotics for as well as a course of steroids, special cleanser, and elizabethen collar. I called and told the kennel this and left a message for the manager to call me back. At this point I still believed that this had to be some big mistake and there was a rational explanation. Still having my trust i was sure they would own the mistake, apology, fix it for the future and make it right with me. I WAS WRONG!! The manager did not call me back I finally had to call them. At which point she told me she was in contact with my vet who confirmed exactly what I described above. I asked her what she thought happened to which she replied "Ill investigate it and get back to you" and then offered me a credit for future services. Again she didn't call me. I had to call multiple times to get ahold of her. When I asked what her investigation turned up she replied "nothing, we don't know how it could have happened". At this point I told her if she didn't know how it happened and how to keep it from happening again I couldn't in good conscience let my dogs stay there again. I asked her to cancel my boarding appointment for August and then told her since I would not be using the offer for credit would they be providing me with any compensation for either the their fees, the vet bill or both to which she replied "I'll have to talk to the owners but I think we can negotiate". I was floored. I told her "I will not negotiate with you. You know what amount I paid you. My vet bill was $XXX. You should do what you think is appropriate. I hope you will do the right thing." I was counting on integrity and found none. After a week, no refund of any sort. I called back asked the manager if the owner decided the appropriate thing to do was nothing. To which she replied "yes". Don't let be fooled like I was. This is not the place you want your dogs. read more
