NEVER take your dog to this location. This is long but it needs to be known how the owner only cares about money. My dog was severely ill in their care and they waited 24 hours to reach out to me. My dog has been going there for 5 years, many stays and camp visits so the staff knows him very well, his temperament, how he acts etc.. I got a call at 6:06pm (after closing) that he was vomiting blood, the girl could not tell me what happened. When I asked how long he was sick for, she said "he hasn't been himself for 24 hours". When I asked how long he was vomiting for, she said "3 hours". When I asked what took so long to call me, she said "I just found out 30 minutes ago and I'm just getting around to it"....... No one could tell me what happened to my dog, first he ate a bone and his vomit had white chunks, then he didn't eat a bone. Then he ate his own poop and was throwing up poop.. then he didn't do that. They could not get any story straight which just leads me to believe they just were not watching the dogs. We were out of country so my neighbor had to go get him, because they said they were closing and the only thing they could do was drop him off at a vet..he was covered in shit and they sent him home like that. When my neighbor asked what happened, she was told "he ate his own poop and he always does that"..... my dog has NEVER done that, and even if he did, why would this be the first time in 5 years I'm hearing about it?!? They were always excited to see my dog, have him there, and always told me he was good when I picked him up. They are also now denying saying that to my neighbor. The dog illness was one thing, I asked for the owner, Tom, to contact me and he did the next day via phone. Then he looked into it further, read me the text that his staff sent him that they were concerned about my dog in the 24 hours prior but didn't call me, and said he would call me back. Well he ended up texting me back and forth, we were trying to figure out what happened. I told him my dog would not be back and he said that was unfortunate... 7 MINUTES LATER, he accidentally copied me in on a text chain to another CBW employee, and this is word for word what he said: "If we knew, Dale was covered in dog shit when his emergency contact, her neighbor picked him up, we should've gave them a blanket to put on their car seats. Now that Neighbor lady has dog shit all over her car. Let's try to do better with this kind of stuff in the future. Dale still has not recovered. I'll talk to his mom on Thursday. But I really doubt we will let Dale come back. I'll probably have to end up paying for that car to get cleaned. Probably have some other problems with this dog Dale and her mom. But I don't want Dale there anymore. I don't think we make any money when he stays there. We have to give him a bath every day and spend an hour cleaning his cabin every single day sometimes twice a day. Just not worth it for him to be there." I advised Tom he copied me and told him it was absolutely disgusting that I was trying to find out what happened to my dog and he is more concerned about money?!?!?! His response was "that was in poor taste on my end" and that's it. Haven't heard from him. Can you believe that?!? This place that pretends to care for dogs, your family member, and he's texting his staff that they don't make money... my dog never comes home bathed after camp unless I ask for it and pay for it. I can tell that by the way he smells, also, approx $20 for a bath, there's no way CBW wouldn't bring this to my attention if it was a trend and they felt it was getting to be too much loss to give a "free bath" after every stay, they would have lost a lot of money. My dog is still struggling, upon on really taking a look at him, we saw his chest is completely cut open, he has multiple cuts, small lacerations and scratches all over his chest where he is losing clumps of hair. We believe our dog was attacked, he was sick as a trauma response, and they are covering something up. The vet couldn't do much because there was no photos of vomit or a straight story about what happened. Please, do not take your dogs here. They are not safe, and the owner literally proved by texting me that he only cares about the money. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. My dog loves it even more. He's been making me bring him every day! He loves making new dog friends and even human friends which is so great for him. I'm really grateful I found it when I did, I feel like it's really helping my pup become more confident and friendly and I'm so glad that he gets to have a ball with other dogs in a safe and supervised environment. In the beginning, I loved this place and so did my dog. He would go for half day and he really got a work out. He interacted with all the dogs and came home happy and tired. But the last two times that I took him. he came home with upper respiratory problems. The first time I took him to the vet they gave him antibiotics and cough pills and he seemed to get over it well. After two weeks of him doing well we went back to Camp Bow Wow, and he came home with another cough and cold like symptoms, another $200 at the vet. The vet recommended that he not go back. I called Camp Bow Wow and told them about the problem and they shrugged it off to "that time of year!. My dog had previously been given shots for Kennel cough and yet he still got sick. since they didn't seem, too worried about cleaning or disinfecting, I'm gonna listen to my vet and not take him back. read more

I spoke to the owner, Tom, who told me not to bring my dog back ever and find someone new to groom him. When I asked what I did he told me that I was rude when picking him up. We just signed up and interviewed with Camp Bow Wow. The interview was pretty easy- and I loved that I could watch on the camera in the lobby while they were socialized. The building is huge and set up really nicely. The dogs stayed about 3 hours and seemed to have a really great time! Murphy LOVES Camp Bow Wow. We moved down to the southside of Indianapolis and were looking for somewhere close to drop him off for daycare and to board. We've been going here for about six months and our pup always comes home worn out from all the playing. The staff is very helpful, nice, and they communicate about how Murph did at camp for the day. I was surprised on holidays that they operated on a normal schedule. That has been very helpful to give us time to spend as much time with our dog before dropping him off to travel. This location has an awesome social media presence too, which makes it more fun to see your pup having a good time during the day. They also have cameras going to the different play rooms so you can see your dogs having a good time playing with other dog friends. We recently took in and have now permanently adopted Rusty and he has proven to be extremely possessive of us -- to the point we did not feel comfortable with a pet sitter. Camp Bow Wow Southport to the RESCUE! I loved the entire experience -- particularly the way the staff took time to register us and learn about Rusty's needs. It was a long 10 nights away, but we enjoyed watching the web cameras and seeing him [gotta say, it did make us miss him!!] Just a real happy experience for us and feeling safe and well cared for made our time apart seem to fly by. I just took my 1 1/2 year old puppy for an interview and his free first day at Camp Bow Wow in Southport, and I am so impressed with this facility and the staff. They took the time to properly introduce my dog to the others, one at a time, then with bigger groups, and I could watch on the web cams the whole time. The place is adorable - looks like a little camp/lodge when you walk in and surprisingly, no odor at all like some other day cares I've been to in Indy. I met the staff, and before I even arrived, was watching the web cams and noticed how clean they keep the play areas by cleaning up after the pups constantly. From what I can tell, there is an attendant with them the whole time. They don't have huge groups of 80+ dogs like others I've visited. They also offered to take me on a tour of the boarding facilities, cleaning areas, and back rooms, and I was very happy to see the high level of cleanliness with products they use. I've been watching my dog on the web cam and it's so fun to see him play and interact with the other "campers." I know he's going to come home exhausted from the day, and as they say, a tired dog is a good dog! The price was very reasonable, and they even give new campers discounts for future days. They also invited us to a free "doodle day" in April! We will definitely return and I'm thrilled we found such a great place! I would highly recommend! * It sounds like the people leaving one star reviews have dogs that were uncomfortable with daycare, which is not the fault of the staff. Great staff! They love all dogs including pit bull types and have full understanding of your dogs needs. We were shunned away from a daycare in Mooresville for having a playful pit. Uncle Tom, as we call him, immediately took him in for evaluation and noticed that he is a good boy. We literally go the extra miles to take our kids here from Camby area. I totally spy on the kids and the employees are always actively cleaning, petting, or keeping a watchful eye on all of the fur babies. We were nervous about dropping Trigger off for boarding since he had never stayed overnight anywhere that wasn't our friends houses. Usually he doesnt eat, and has severe separation anxiety. But he stayed for a week here and did so great! The owner Tom was very friendly and personable and you can tell he really cares about the dogs there! We were so happy that Trigger was so well taken care of and had so much time playing with other dogs and was not holed up in a cage the whole time. We even were able to check out the webcams while on vacation and saw that he was being loved on and getting lots of interaction. I have four doggies I would take to Camp Bow Wow Southport location for full bath and grooming. For the most part, I was happy with their care there. They looked adorable when picking them up after a majority of their visits. I did, usually meet with the groomers before sending them back with the ladies, just to go over what we wanted. Sometimes, their cuts needed to be less in one area and more in another. Each visit would require different amounts coming off. They said they had it in their notes also. However, a few times, I did say something about their cuts. They apologized and did a beautiful job again the next time. The last time I took them, though, my smallest little yorky came out and smelled less than fresh. Her hair was as long as it was when going back. And she was boot scooting across the floor as soon as she entered our home. I always asked for anul glands to be done also. They don't do that unless it is asked for. It's included in full grooming price, just not done unless specifically asking for that service. I do ask. Anyway, when I called up there to ask about what they did with my little one, the lady argued with me. She was quite rude, insisting that the groomer did what she clearly didn't do. I took before photos and after photos. I always love showing my babies off. That time I didn't want to show her off. She looked scraggly. (Still cute. She can't help that. She's an adorable little doggy) I haven't been back since. It's now been maybe a few months. I thought I would call again yesterday and take them back. As I said, for the most part, the groomers did good work. I think one groomer is better than others for us, in my husband and my opinions. Alyssa made our appointments. But a couple hours later, I got a phone call from the owner himself, Tom, being very rude and telling me he was canceling my appointments. He asked me not to return to Camp Bow Wow. I'm too high maintenance he said I'm good with that. I have four dogs we took there. And I DO expect them to be smelling good and looking like they have had their hair cut when they are picked up. Very disappointing experience. Unorganized and does not understand dogs. We were hopeful this would be a knowledgeable and trusting business with corporate ties providing a professionally managed facility for our pup. We've taken him to several other operators and have gotten great feedback, we were excited to try this closer located facility. Unfortunately it did not live up to any expectations mainly due to: 1) Never booking the interview appointment we scheduled over the phone (what else will they forget?) 2) Not reading our application before putting our dog in an uncomfortable situation 3) Not providing any warm up time as was promised over the phone. I was told we would have to leave the dog for several hours because most dogs need time to relax, before they could determine true behavior. 4) Denying us service before ever reading our application to learn anything about our pup First off, we showed up for our interview day and the man who "booked" our appointment apparently never did. So there was confusion and a rush to get us out of the way. As we are filling out the application, the same man that never booked our appointment almost let our dog off the leash in the parking lot. Our dog runs, and runs fast. But he wouldn't know since we hadn't been introduced and he hadn't received our application yet. The dog is taken inside to introduce to another dog, both on leashes. After 15 minutes it is decided our dog did not pass, before we even turned in our application describing how our dog works best, including that the worst scenario is introducing him to another dog while both are on leashes... HMMMMMMM. I can understand not passing a dog, but there were multiple levels of interview that were never implemented. We left feeling as if the owner clearly has never dealt with any dogs other than his own, only will provide service to perfectly obedient dogs, and has no interest in understanding any other dogs that don't fit the cookie cutter. Bottom Line: Save yourself some time and go somewhere that cares. read more

I have boarded my dog at a Camp Bow Wow near my relatives home in Florida before and liked the concept so I decided to try out Camp Bow Wow Southport on the southside of Indy over the holidays when I was in town visiting family. I was blown away by how large and clean the Southport location was and I was impressed by the "Hoosier Hospitality" me and my dog received from the staff. Plus, they had SO MANY camera views on their app that I could find my dog on camera easily during the day just by looking at my phone. When I picked Charlie up the next morning, he was happy and tired. My puppy LOVES going to Camp Bow Wow. He has been going there since he was 4 months old and never gets tired of going. I usually take him 2-3 times a week and every morning I ask if he wants to go to daycare he freaks out and wont stop until we are in the car. The staff has always been so nice and are always excited to see Kaz when he comes in. I live right down the road from the camp so its super convenient and I love being able to check on my pup throughout the day while at work by being able to watch him play on the live webcams. If you asked Kaz, he would definitely give Camp Bow Wow 6 out of 5 stars and would probably live there if they would let him! read more

The owner Tom had a great staff when he first opened a few years ago and they cared about the pets - NOT ANY MORE! My 10 lb Toy Aussie Doodle had an upset tummy that caused diarrhea on his potty pad, Staff came in his suite took his blanket and left him the entire night with nothing for warmth. I was frantically calling and no one was there to answer the phones. Staff came in and saw his dirty pad, tossed his folded blanket down on his dirty bed and left. Camera FROZE. 20 mins later, camera comes on and you can see that same staff member take his blanket out again and remove the dirty pad (Ozzy had already been placed in the play area). I call speak to staff alerting them that Ozzy is way to fragile to be left without a blanket all night like that and Tom apologizes. I see them continuously removing his blanket thru the next 3 days he is there, they wash it and replace it quickly. I'm not understanding why they are washing his blanket so much, cameras are very sub par, they go black & white, freeze out and you can barely see, certainly NOT CLOSE UP. Not at any time did I see any of the staff or Tom pet Ozzy or pick him up or show him any kind of attention at all the entire 5 days he was there. I did see someone pet what appeared to be a greyhound once. Until we picked Ozzy up, Tom carried him out to us, and excused himself rather quickly. When we got to our car we realized Ozzy was covered in caked on dry dog feces from approximately 4 days earlier! They had not even wiped it off of him when he was sick! In a fair and jest world, may you and your staff be treated the way you treated my baby! Left in a cold cell shivering over night, with out human touch or love for 4 days, saturated in your own dried caked fecal matter! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PETS IF YOU TRULY LOVE THEM! read more

This establishment will never receive any of my business again. Before my dog was to go to his required interview, I called and talked to an employee to make sure I had all necessary vet records. When I got there a different employee told me that my records were unacceptable and that his interview could not be conducted. She was extremely rude. After getting my dog revaccinated I took him back for his interview. When I picked him up he was partially drenched. When I asked why he was wet, the same employee I'd had the issue with previously laughed and said, "Yeah. He played really hard." I do NOT recommend!!! read more

I decided to try out Camp Bow Wow for my 7 month old puppy since she loves playing with dogs so much and the webcams were appealing. Just a few short hours after dropping her off, I noticed my puppy was no longer in daycare. I thought maybe she was taking a break but each time I checked she wasn't in there. 3:30pm comes around (Dropped her off at 9am) so I decide to go pick her up immediately instead of calling. I arrive to be told that my dog was attacking other dogs in the face and neck. I'm completely shocked because she has regularly attended Barkefellers daycare 2-3 times a week since she was 9 weeks old and doesn't have a mean bone in her. She even completed obedience training there and there has never once been an issue. I understand every daycare is different and everyone thinks their dogs are perfect but I have worked with my pup on socializing since day one and successfully met the goal of having her meet more than 100 dogs before 6 months of age. Before becoming a stay at home mom, my career was working with animals. I've worked at a few different daycares since a young age and worked at an Emergency Vet clinic prior to staying home with my son. I'm very knowledgeable about dog behavior (went to college for veterinary technology) and the way evaluations/trial period works at daycares. I watched the web cam a lot today and never once saw my dog be mean to the other dogs. And I never once received a phone call saying there were problems therefore my dog was left to sit in separation for hours without my knowledge. I would never not call a client at one of my previous daycares with something like that going on. The owner would be notified immediately. I feel like I'm more than qualified to have a strong dislike for this situation compared to someone who doesn't have as much knowledge about dogs or how these types of businesses are ran. But it speaks volumes on this business when Camp Bow Wow had less than 10 daycare dogs but Barkefellers had over 100 daycare dogs today. And to make matters worse, my normally very happy, playful puppy has not acted normal since being home and will not even allow my husband or I to touch her or approach her and being in a depressed state which is not like her at all and has me worried on what really happened there today. I have a huge voice in the dog community and I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more
